Mortality Bound #4

Mortality Bound

Rate this book
In the GoneGod World, Order and Chaos aren’t just concepts.

The gang have officially joined the resistance, and Isa is using her skills to help unlock the one thing denied to Others when the gods left: immortality.

Stuck in an unground bunker, Isa is working round the clock to unlock the secret of eternal life. But things are more complicated than that, because life itself grows in her belly. She is pregnant. And that shouldn’t be possible.

Humans tend to kill what shouldn’t be.

The World Government wants her and her child gone, the resistance wants her secrets … seems everyone wants something from Isa.

And all Isa wants is a safe place to raise her child.

But when Hercules is captured by the World Government and used as bait to get to her, Isa has a choice to make: Leave the demigod to die horribly or face her enemies head-on, knowing that she risks everything to do so.

The Mortality Bound Series takes place in the GoneGod World... an inspiring and unique setting of myths, magic and mischief. But what is the GoneGod World?

Four years ago, the gods left. All of them. Their last message to humanity was "Thank you for believing in us, but it is not enough. We're leaving. Good luck."

At first no one took them seriously. Until, that is, all the denizens of all the heavens and hells started showing up on people's doorsteps.

Creatures from every religion, mythology, folklore or fairytale now live among us, mortal and homeless. Trouble is, after eons of living forever, elves, dragons, dwarves, oni-demons, even friggin’ Medusa aren't very good at being mortal.

Welcome to the GoneGod World...where myths are real and the once immortal creatures of myth are all mortality bound.

It’s a great series BUT

The writing is great, the premise is fresh and original. But for the love of the gonegods stop with the expletive!! Cliffhangers. You are better than that. Write a book not a chapter close each book without resorting to “see you here next week Same bat time, same bat channel” theatrics. It is possible to provide closure and an open storyline.

Was a fun book, but the series has begun to spiral into repetition.

Book 4 in the adventures of Isa, Justin, Cupid, and Hercules.

This is one of my favorite series. But they do need to be read in order so if you haven't read any before this go back to book one. (Or check out the other story lines set in the GoneGod World for even more in-depth understanding and fun.)

I love the fun and adventure in these books. The characters are well-developed and interact well. Even the bad guys and "minor" characters are fleshed out. Some great themes are mixed into the great storytelling as well.
