Prostredníctvom jej osobných príbehov, skúseností a úryvkov zo Svätého písma nás autorka pozýva rozpoznať Božiu vôľu, Jeho prítomnosť a pôsobenie v našich životoch.
Odkrýva zmysel utrpenia, ponúka pomocnú ruku a osvetľuje cestu, aby sme nespadli do pasce sebaľútosti.
Katrina J. Zeno, MTS, is an international speaker, retreat leader, and author dedicated to the legacy of St. John Paul II. Her expansive list of talks include the genius of women, the distinctive gift of men, the single life, marriage and marriage prep, pro-life topics, the New Evangelization, Argentine tango and the spiritual life, and, of course, "Theology of the Body for Everyone" including grade school, high school, young adults, parents, catechists, clergy, and senior citizens!
Katrina is especially gifted in reaching a diverse audience as a keynote and conference speaker as well as training catechists, religious educators, seminarians, and priests at the Diocesan and seminarian level. Her dynamic speaking style and clear writing appeal to all ages and states in life. She also assists dioceses, parishes, and organizations with creating a customized program to train speakers/teachers and to integrate theology of the body into every level of catechesis.
The first half was excellent. Zeno balanced personal testimony (hers and others') with Scripture. The way she highlighted the struggles that biblical characters went through, and the good that came from embracing those struggles, really hit home. I was able to reconnect with stories I already knew and also find an even deeper connection with them. I was less impressed by the second half. It ended well, but she attempts to redefine virginity and awkwardly sticks it in this book. Not only is it a questionable philosophy on virginity, it feels out of place in the book. Despite, I've already recommended this book to others.
I loved reading every moment of this book and recommended it to several other friends. For me, it confirmed that all the struggles in my life have purpose, even though these struggles were never a part of my "plan". Such an inspiring book to motivate endurance in all trials and perseverance in prayer.
this book was very eye-opening, I wish I had read it sooner. the parts about the script changes and opening our hearts to new ways of thinking stood out the most. definitely changed my outlook on life.
