I stayed awake waaayyyy into the small hours to read this. I think , after Unsocial , that this is my favourite book by this author.
Full review to come a bit later. When I’ve had caffeine.

OK - Caffeine levels restored.....

I was kindly given an ARC of Redemption. Thank you. This is my honest opinion.

Logan and Quinn have both been severely let down by the people who should have cared for them and for a long time they are best friends with their paths crossing frequently. Along with their friends, Sean and Rhys, they somehow survive in the system. Then one day something happens in Logan's life and he is no longer in the same situation. At the age of 14 he has the chance to have a much better life but he feels so very guilty for leaving Quinn and breaking his promise to her.

Four years later their paths cross again but can Quinn forgive him? Who else have they made connections with? I felt so sad for all of them. These were young people that were broken but somehow they survived. This author creates characters with such resilience and they always pull my heartstrings.

This story will make your heart hurt but Ms Dykes writes one hell of a roller coaster love story and you have to trust her that everything will be ok. There are very dark themes but it is balanced well and the darkness doesn't overwhelm the story.

If you have read this author's other work then you will recognise lots of the secondary characters (especially Philip and Gillian from Mislead). I love seeing previous characters.

HEA? Yes
Cheating? They both have relationships with other people in their time apart - Logan does not sleep around , there is one girl he sees on and off but it lacks any real emotional substance - more friends with benefits.

“Redemption; the action of saving or being saved from sin, error, or evil.”

This is a beautifully written story of learning self growth, respect, and to love those who are considered family.
Life can be so hard living with addiction, even harder as an adolescent. When you grow up without the constant security of knowing that someone is there for you day in and day out because of addiction, who do you turn to? As a child, you turn to your friends. Logan and Quinn’s life has been anything but sunshine and rainbows.
Through this story you will find that addiction has taken so much from a group of friends. How they have all dealt with Logan leaving, to how they deal with Logan and Quinn reuniting.

Addiction is a struggle everyday, and for these amazing characters from past to present you are on their journey. You route for, you scream at, and you cry for.

Can all of the toxic demons of the past allow a clear sky for a beautiful destiny?

Nicole is phenomenal at creating and developing her characters. This story deserves more than 5 stars!

🎧 Audiobook Review 🎧

I was confused at the beginning of the book with the mention of so many characters, so I went to Goodreads to check out other series by the same author, and I discovered that everyone mentioned were indeed, family couples on a previous series.

they're really present, so I think it's important to mention, because i was still lost at the end with so many characters.

I really liked almost everyone though.
what i didn't liked much was the way that Logan had s³x with other woman, after he and Quinn had kissed and started to get back into each other's life.

I think Logan was always messing up in one way or another.

Quinn was a fighter in life and I was really cheering for her.

The narration was good... the female voice was just too old for Quinn's 18 years old, but their performance was great.

I don't know how to rate this. I feel like it is a solid 3, but it could go up to a 4 at some parts.

This handles darker topics, like abuse (with partner, and parent), addition, and foster care (with abusive foster parents).

There were parts of this book where I really wanted to throttle both of the main characters for how stupid they were being. I mean if they just stopped and talked about what just happened instead of seeing the problem, then running away to retaliate, then the book would have been better in my opinion. I just like it when they talk over things instead of just assuming what is actually happening.

I think that I will read more from this author, I did devour this book in a span of 4 hours. So I mean it did something right to keep me hooked, what that is I don't think I will ever know.

I think that if you want to get the full picture of all of the side characters in Logan's life like his whole extended family, I think they all have books before this, so maybe if I read those and then this one I might have rated this book higher. But I will say you don't have to read them to enjoy this book, they do a good job of telling you how all of the couples got together...kinda, so if you don't want those spoilers then I would say read their books before this one.

Overall I would recommend this book, if you want something full of angst and a friends to enemies to lovers book, and kinda a close group of friends...(very small bits of that, but it could still count in a small way).

Wow..... Quinn and Logan became firm friends at the age of 4 when she shared her pack of goldfish crackers with him, fast forward 14 years and Logan is living a different live to Quinn, taken out of foster care by his dad at 14. A chance meeting puts their lives on a collision course of love and hate drugs and alcohol. Quinn never forgot logan. This story is full of twist and turns and love and angst. Logan is the bad boy turned good and trying to help Quinn see that she is worth better then what she thinks is.

One of my favourite lines is when Quinn asked Logan to be her first kiss and Logan doesn't want to as they have been friends forever "then toughen up buttercup and kiss me" 💋

A family that loves him and a mother who uses drugs as her way out, this story will make you laugh, cry (I cried some big ugly tears at one point)and then laugh all over again.

This story is one of my top ten reads of this year. Well done Nicole Dykes.

This book 😍😍😍
This Author 💞💞💞💞

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK WAS OFF THE CHARTS 🙌🔥🙌

This book is about Logan and Quinn. They are old friends and it’s been 4 years since they’ve saw each other since Logan went to live with his biological father... Quinn felt like she had lost everything so finding Logan at a party was the least she had ever expected!!!

The chemistry between these two is freaking great! The story will keep you turning the pages and makes you want more. Because it sure did me!

I had so many emotions while reading this, Nicole really knows how to pull them out of you and make you fall head over heals with a family!!! And this story does that just like all the others!!!

Without a doubt recommend this and any of the Monroe/Adamson book to EVERYONE!!!

Oh my heart! This story of Logan and Quinn is just the sweetest and devastating all at the same time! They are friends since they were super young.... and then they get separated by circumstances only to find one another again later. While this is all going on they THINK that fate is not on their side, but I saw it differently! They love they share (even before either of them will admit it) is so sweet and pure! They both were at such a disadvantage since they spent their youth in the worst kind of family situations that neither of them really think that they are ACTUALLY capable of real love! This story was painful at times, but over all a complete joy to read!

Whenever Nicole Dykes writes a book I read it. END OF.

Redemption for me was a great surprise as I honestly didn't realize that this was going to be about Logan. Whom I met in a previous series by Nicole. Now you ABSOLUTELY DO NOT need to read her other series to ENJOY THE FACK outta of this book.

This book has everything I love in a book. Second chance, Angsty and a bit of Love/Hate.

Full review to come.

This book, this book , this book...it touched on every emotional heartstring in my body. I couldn’t put it down. I read straight through. Let me tell you that’s not easy because the story is not easy. This review isn’t easy for me to write. There’s so much that could be discussed. Yet I’m having trouble getting thoughts together and not give anything away. However, I can imagine this story being very true. The author took a subject matter and made it so real. She touched on points that I’m sure most people wouldn’t think about. All the angles and points of view were truly captured realistically in this story. I don’t do spoilers because I don’t think it’s fair to the author. I will say (because it’s touched on in the blurb) that survivor’s guilt is real. We may think of survivor’s guilt as only relating to an unexpected death but there is so many more times that it can occur in one’s life. When you read the story it will all make sense.

This book is more than a love story of two people. This book is a lifetime story of friends, family, extended family, heartbreak, happiness, tragedy, forgiveness (of more than just others), love and hope!
Don’t worry it’s not all gloom and doom. You will smile, love, laugh, feel the romance and the heat and be rooting for so many.
I had so much compassion for so many in this book but of course Quinn and Logan were my top priorities...I think for me I even held more compassion for Logan he seemed to bear the responsibility for so much...but Quinn my heart ached for her.

I need to stop because I’ll just continue to ramble. I can’t imagine going into the depths the author did to write such a intense, gripping and loving story. What I will say is I’m so glad she does and brings such social issues to the forefront. It brings so much to the table and so much food for thought. This is a story that deserves to be read.

This book broke my heart, but then it gave me hope that almost anyone will be able to find "Redemption" in their life. I have not read the other series by Nicole Dykes-The Adamsons- but it did not make that much of an impact on me other than making me realize that I REALLY want to read that series!

Quinn and Logan grew up together and were best friends (even family) through thick and thin and then something happens and Logan is just gone and Quinn was heartbroken. FF 4 years later and Logan and Quinn meet by chance and it is not pretty because Quinn can't believe that Logan would just leave her like that, but did he have a good reason for it?

Y'all this book really is about Redemption. It could have not been more aptly named. Logan messed up big time, but perhaps he can make it up to the girl that stole his heart. The only thing is, he thinks he can make it up, but can he gets what he really wants? Her. To be his. Always.

All in all, I LOVED this book. I cannot say enough good things about it. There are some sensitive subjects that might be triggers for some, but it does not dwell on this. The majority of the story is uplifting even in really crappy situations. I highly recommend you checking this out if you enjoy books that pack an emotional punch but gives you hope.

Thank you to Nicole Dykes and Inkslinger PR for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!

Logan and Quinn both grew up in the foster care system. Both experienced loss, fear, and disappointment from those who should have cared for them. Together with their two friends, Shawn and Rhys, they form a strong friendship and family to help them survive their circumstances. That is until 14 year old Logan gets a chance to have the family they all dreamed of, but at the cost of Quinn and their friends.

Four years later their paths cross again and old pains resurface and new challenges spring up. Logan and Quinn are now broken, adult versions of the hurt children they once were. Except now they don’t have each other.

This story made me ache. I scheduled for Logan and Quinn. For the hurt and scared children they one were and for the broken and struggling young adults they had become. I ached for their longing for one another and the pain and resentment they latched on to.

Redemption is raw, honest and real. It doesn’t skimp on emotions, but it’s never too dark. The romance and sprinkles of humor serve to give it a lighter tone right after being sucker punched with an avalanche of feels.

Nicole Dykes has once again blown me away with her special brand of romance. Intense, emotional, imperfectly perfect, and utterly consuming, Redemption should be everyone’s next read! 5 stars.

This book kept me hooked (duh, it's a Nicole Dykes book) and I devoured it in 5 hours straight.
The story was really good but I didn't like the MC's. Some parts were great and made my heart ache but at other points, I got angry at the characters' behaviour. Logan, according to me, is described aptly by Phillip when he calls him 'little shit'. The guy is epitome of misunderstanding and miscommunication. But that college money stint of his softened my heart towards him a lot.
However, Quinn is one big pushover. And I hate it. Seriously, Logan doesn't apologize to her after the whole Blair thing, when she leaves his home. Rhys doesn't apologize to her either...like not even once. He might have guilt and I know words don't solve anything but they are pretty important and if I would've heard an apology from him, it would have gone a long way in me liking Quinn. Cuz she just forgives him like that. No words, no apologies. I didn't understand it.
Also, the tattoo scene was beautiful. I would recommend it if you want angst and a friends to lovers, fast paced story.

Redemption

Seriously every time ...
Every new book I say ,
oh this is Nicole’s best work yet .. then she writes another book and damn,
here I am again saying the same old thing ..

But I’m not shitting you ,
Quinn and Logan’s story ripped my heart right out my chest, and slowly ... so very slowly pushed it back in ... piece by piece ,

The heartache between these two killed me,
I’ll admit I had to stop for a bit , but that’s only because I’d seen Logan enter as a broody unloved teen (through previous books) to this man in redemption...
And watching him grow along the way .

Damn

Quinn’s a bad ass with the biggest heart of gold... everything she goes through and she still finds the best in people and refuses to give up on them..

Ah-Maze-Ing read as always..
I love getting lost in Nicole’s world .

So. Flipping. Wonderful. After four years Logan runs into Quinn again. Life will be changing once again for them both. Will it be for the worse or the better?

Everything within these pages bring out emotion. Every last word made me either smile, laugh, cry, yell, pause, grip my heart and fall in love with characters.

Quinn is strong, Logan is tough.

100% 5 stars and highly recommend!!

When your life starts out at rock bottom, how do you even see yourself climbing to the top? Great story of friends who bonded while in foster care; and their story of trials and tribulations that not only lead them back to finding each other, but also finding themselves. I really enjoyed this book so much, that I couldn’t put it down. I just wish I had started it earlier in the day. Great job to author, she never disappoints.

This story pulls on all of your heart strings. Logan and Quinn's life story was so omg intense. It is hard not to hurt for them. There reconnection was intense and emotional. Handling addiction and abuse are tough subjects, but this author wrote with strength of character and without judgement. I loved this story thru the laughter and the tears.. I highly recommend it to others.

Toughen up Buttercup...

Logan and Quinn's story is a take on second chance love. Filled with heartbreak, abandonment, betrayal and teenage love that turns into the everlasting kind. The story will suck you in and twist your heart. It will get the tears flowing. I couldn't put my Kindle down. Prepare yourself, no laundry or dishes will get done once you crack this book open.

This is my second book by Nicole and it was excellent. It handles tough topics and I like that she never waters down her characters. They’re broken, and struggling. With that said, this is a new adult romance so the angst is off the charts. A few times I found myself thinking they’re immature but I realized that they truly are! They are teenagers. Overall, I loved this story of fated lovers who find their way back through all the destruction, and heartache. My heart broke for these kids but I was vested in their journey. This is a HEA but there should be a trigger warning for abuse, violence, and drug addiction.

Quinn & Logan both drew the short end of the stick when it comes to the family life they were dealt. Their story is emotional and angsty but the journey is worth it!
The narrators were new to me and did a great job of telling the story.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

It took me a while to get to this book, and not because I wanted to wait and read it, but because life happens. Especially when you’re a mom and a wife. So much life. But I finally got to dive in and I could not put it down. I was literally eating my dinner while reading, my husband was talking to me and I was full on ignoring him. I couldn’t stop reading!

Logan and Quinn are EVERYTHING! Their beginning story and their love is all consuming and powerful. They have been friends since they were so young, life happens, it throws curve balls and while the other stays on the wrong side of the tracks, the other is given the life they should have both had from the start. Logan’s backstory consumed me. Quinn’s backstory destroyed me.

The emotions sparked from the book had me feeling everything as if I was right there in the story with them. I laughed, I cried, I smiled. I nearly threw my Kindle because they both pissed me off so badly that I couldn’t believe they just did what they did. ARRRGGGHHHH! Yea, It was rough. I didn’t throw it, but I REALLY REALLY wanted to!

The tension between them is highly combustible. So much so I was afraid my Kindle might spontaneously combust when they finally give in to it. You could seriously cut the tension with a knife. And when it all came together, it was just DAMN! The heat made me melt in a way that I haven’t in a quite a while, at least from a book haha.

Get your hands on this book now! It’s worth the read!

h: Quinn
H: Logan
(Dual POVs)

Logan and Quinn met when they were both in foster care. At the age of 14, Logan is taken away from his current living situation with his birth mother and loses contact with Quinn and the other two foster boys. Fast forward four years, and Logan runs into his old friends and had to confront his past.

This was another emotional and deep read from Nicole! Nicole always delivers characters that you can’t help but sympathize for, and Quinn and Logan are no different! I thought some of the actions of Quinn and Logan fit their characters as well as their age. As much as I dislike the main characters to be away from each other for a long period of time, I truly appreciate Nicole’s understanding that sometimes, you need to grow by yourself and figure out who you are as an individual before a relationship can work.

I loved that these two got their HEA, after everything they had to go though. The epilogue was great!

Favorite quotes:
”Happy Birthday.”
“Go fuck yourself.”

Logan and Quinn met when they were children while in foster care. They both deserved so much more than what life has handed them but in each other they found a safe place. Logan promised he would always be there for Logan until the day he wasn’t, and she was left devastated with so many questions and so much hurt. She has built walls around her heart and allows very few people close so when Logan resurfaces in her life by chance she is not about to forgive and forget.

When Logan was taken from foster care he was able to experience a different kind of family although he fought it every step of the way. He has never forgotten Quinn but when they reunite convincing her to open her heart and give him a second chance may be the biggest challenge of all.

This is an emotional story that breaks your heart and puts it back together. There is no denying that Logan and Quinn are meant to be but they are both damaged by their pasts, but rather than allow it to control them it only makes them that much resilient and determined to persevere.

Amazing

Absolutely AMAZING. This book was very hard to read only because it hit home with the topic. Four beautiful souls trying to find their way in life through the foster system and find each other to lean on. This book will touch your heart like you won't believe. You will fall in love with Logan and Quinn. Watching these two grow, find themselves, and find each other is quite the journey in this book. You will cry, you will get frustrated, and even pissed off in moments. You won't be able to out it down. I couldn't. Bravo Nicole for another outstanding book. I love all of Nicole's books but I feel this book went way beyond the others. This is by far my favorite one

Logan and Quinn's story is a friendship built on pain and having a tough start in life. With growing up the same along with bring best friends, it had to be inevitable that these two would have a rocky story.

We met Logan in Misled (don't have to read before this) and I was always intrigued by him. I wanted to shout at him at different parts in this book but he definitely redeemed himself. (Funny, right?). Quinn was a strong and independent heroine, not wanting to rely on anyone for anything, including Logan and his family.

These two take you on an emotional rollercoaster. You'll want to scream at them and the author, but I promise it is totally worth it.

This book was amazing, and oh so aptly named. Nicole Dykes does it again!

Another amazing read from Nicole Dykes! Two broken kids, who had nothing but each other and their close friends to lean on growing up. Although life took them all in different directions, their broken past always held the link to each other. This book has ALL the feels! It so painfully addressed addiction in multiple characters. It addressed domestic violence, and the gap between the wealthy and those who grew up poor. It gives you hope that no matter how bad your childhood may have been, redemption is possible. I loved everything about this book. Logan and Quinn's friendship is so heartwrenchingly beautiful. Love these two and cant wait for Rhys and Sean's stories!! If you havent read this story, do yourself a favor and one click!

Nicole Dykes never ceases to amaze me. Each time I think I will never love another one of her couples more than the last, she writes yet another brilliant book!

Logan & Quinn were incredible. The Adamson family that surrounds them were incredible. The side characters were INCREDIBLE. Everything about this read had me sucked in & dying to know the outcome of everyone mentioned.

If you’re up for a gritty, brutal, tough love story with incredible characters, this book is for you. Redemption blew me away & I cannot wait for more!

UPDATE: audiobook was great, lord have I missed these characters! I absolutely loved going back & revisiting them all.

Touching Story

OMG... this story has the most perfect name. Redemption. It’s exactly that. Such a touching story to read, I literally felt every moment! That’s how sucked in I got, and man, what a ride.

Logan and Quinn grow up in foster care together until their early teens, then life pulls them apart. This story is all about the affects of growing up in the system and trying to survive. All the emotions, anger and fear that comes from the unknown.

A definite 5 star read. Total tear jerker so be ready but overall a great story!

Oh Nicole you have done it again!

I love Logan, he was dealt a shitty hand from the very start and it’s a wonder how he turned out to be so awesome and not a freaking mess. The Same with Quinn she has a rough life from the start and you never truly knew how would fair.

I love that we finally got Logan’s perspective on things and got to see how his life turns out. Highly recommend this book and yes it can be read as a stand-alone but why do that when you can start at the beginning?

Redemption was by far the best book by Nicole Dykes to date. I have no idea where she comes up with these tragic, come from nothing, broken characters that all in all find faith in something, love that is unmeasurable, and family in each other. Logan and Quinn's story broke my heart right along with them and was so glad that they got their HEA. I have no idea what Nicole has planned next and I can't wait to find out. Because it'll be just as epic.
