I sold my soul to win her.

First to her devil of a father, then to the true devil himself. The price exacted nothing less than eternal fealty. A boon I’d gladly relinquish a thousand times over to possess the love of my dark Princess.

Though she may hate me. Though my desire chars my bones black. I will love her forever.

Virginal, devious, cruel, kind, she’s desperate for freedom. Used, wounded, coddled, and spoiled—the only immortal who can walk in the sun—will be mine.

So long as I can remove her father from his ancient throne and place something far worse upon that seat of power.

Publisher’s Note: Cathedral is a standalone novel in the Cradle of Darkness series featuring in an HEA. The horror prequel, Catacombs, will enrich the experience of this book but is not necessary.

EPIC READ!!! I Friggin loved this book!!! Addison Cain is amazing storyteller and her words flow flawlessly with passion and power. I have read a lot of vampire tales and have recently in the last year gotten into paranormal erotica it takes it to a whole nother level !! I first got a taste of this book in the Bite Me vampire anthology that came out early this year and addison's short story Cathedral was layed out,I was so hooked!!!! I couldn't wait to read this book!!! The cover is so beautifully dark and gothic looking at it took my breath away. I will say that typically I have only read about male vampires as main characters because that's my thing ,but when she introduced Jade I was so intrigued by her character. I want to know why she was so shut down and why she was letting herself be used and abused mentally, emotionally and physically!!! And I wanted to know how Malcom fit into her life, did he love her or was he a monster like her father Darius. Jades father had been playing sick games with her head for along time but when malcom makes a deal with jade things start to change and jade starts putting the pieces together with malcom and her grandfather Vladislov and now she knows the truth and theirs gonna be hell to pay!! I don't want say anymore about this book except this.....if your looking for tortured or sweet nice vampires this isn't for you!! These vampires are true predators nothing about them is nice, they live to feed and fuck and they do it well. This book had a lot going on. Theirs passion and their is tears. Their is death and rebirth. Jade is a daywalker and her powers are about to take down dear old dad the vampire king himself he will never whore her out,and their will be no more violence or abuse at his hand or others. Jade was finally free to take her place as queen with Malcom her guardian warrior husband at her side .This book had adult language and adult situations but it is more.... It's a love story with sex that is savage as it is beautiful ! Theirs treachery, death and surrender and in the end their is a unbreakable immortal love story that would not die!!!
Until next time Luv's💋💞

This was the continuation of Jade and Malcolm's story that we originally started in an earlier anthology.
This is that story from there repeated for clarity and flow and then it continues on to its conclusion which I was defiantly more than ready for.
So it’s the full book rather than the taster we were originally given.
This is dark and brutal and brutal and everything else you have come to expect from this particular author.
A riveting page-turner of a read than I inhaled in one complete sitting.
Darius was again the sadistic father of the year we have come to expect from our previous interactions with him, while Malcolm seemingly the king's right-hand vampire works behind the scenes protecting his beloved Jade.
Despite appearances to the contrary for him, she is what is important.
I really liked where this went and it was a satisfying conclusion for all involved.
Reading Catacombs the short story set in this world is not essential but will definitely enhance the whole experience giving you the insight to catch small nuances delivered here that you oversize might miss and also understand the back story itself.
This is definitely not going to be a story for everyone it's not pretty and certainly doesn't pull its punches in terms of its dark content but if you have read this author previously you will have an idea what you're in store for.
A dark vampire romance with some serious bite.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Cathedral.

Our eyes met, my heart refusing to beat if his wasn’t going to exist. And I realized, as his blood bubbled over my fingers, what love felt like.

Oh this enternal unstoppable love...

This is how a paranormal lust/passion/obsession should look/feel like!

Jade and Malcolm.
Jade is a daywalker and a natural born vampire...with daddy issues. Her father takes advantage of her, mindf@ck her and does not love her enough. Still she is a spoiled princess.
Malcom is a made vampire and much much older than Jade. He has feelings for her since she was born and he was ordered not to act about his feelings by her daddy. Malcom is a vampire warrior and he is in charge of Jade's security.

If you are expecting sweet friendly vampires and a bit bloody but still flowery expression of love, you will be mistaken.

“You’ve always been mine. From the moment I held you bloody and fresh from the womb. He hadn’t even swaddled you, just dumped you cold and naked, cord still attached, in my hands. I quitted your cries. Found you milk; nursed you blood from my fingertips. I hid you from the court except when your father wanted to prance his prize pony about. I’ve murdered almost every human you slept with, hundreds. I didn’t even drink them. I just left them to rot.”

This is an adult romance for adult audience. Be warned!

Note and maybe spoilers: I was keep wondering who is Jade. Is she Pearl from Catacombs? Well, no she is not. But she is most probably (definitely) related to her.

Counting the days until this beauty landed in my library,i couldn’t wait do dig in.
To devour this second story of The Cradle of Darkness series.
And my conclusion is,that it was more than worth the wait.

We all know Darius is a cruel man,but what he does to his own daughter,Jade?
That is evil incarnate......and the only reason Jade is still alive,is because of Malcom.
When Darius threw her violently against the wall as a child, she was severely injured, with little chance of survival.
He took her to Vadislov, the only one able to help, and has kept the worst away from her ever since, even though he is forced to hurt her himself.
Darius knows how he feels about Jade,so cruel as the man is,he forbids him to ever court her,and instead makes him guard her.

But Jade is special, and the fact Darius treats her só cruel,só bad,is going to come back to haunt him....
How special, you’ll have to find out yourself,as well as what happens.

If you know Addison, you’ll know it’s DARK.
If you liked Catacombs, you’ll know what to expect.
(And if you haven’t read that....don’t worry, you don’t need to,but it wíll give this story the extra background that’ll make you enjoy it more.)

Deliciously Dark Love Story

Cathedral is one hell of a dark love story, told in Addison Cain’s indomitable style. The read is visceral, unapologetically hot and at times savage – and it and it literally blew my mind!

Both Jade and Malcolm, hero and heroine (or should I say anti-hero and anti-heroine) are essentially monsters who need human blood to survive. Jade is a daywalker, able to tolerate daylight, unlike the other vampires. As daughter of the leader Darius, she is respected but she is also reviled for her differences.

I found Jade to be a complex and flawed character, full of contradictions: sad and empty, despite her life of debauchery and luxury. She desperately craves love and acceptance, something she has never experienced from her cruel and sadistic father. It was not long before I began to feel empathy for her. Darius uses his daughter to meddle in the lives of humans for his own amusement and to control her, seeing her as a vessel to continue his bloodline.

The vampire Malcolm watches over her, ensuring her compliance with her father’s twisted wishes. Unbeknown to Jade he is in love with her, although she despises him. However, he will have her even if he needs to destroy her father in the process and at long last make her his … I adored that he loves her despite her flaws. Their relationship is complex and Malcolm practices his own dark methods of tough love, necessary to keep his Princess in line, as he plots with another, more powerful than Darius, to secure a future for them.

Can Jade overcome her hatred of Malcolm? Will her father fight back? Has Malcolm thrown his lot in with a being far worse than Darius? Who will ultimately win the battle for dominion and gain the throne and will they survive? I was on pins throughout and I loved this dark and decadent tale which sizzles with emotion.

Although the read is a standalone novel, I now have Catacombs, the horror prequel, on my ‘to read’ pile. I am eager to find out more about the twisted characters within the world the author has created within the Cradle of Darkness series and look forward to reading future instalments.

Please note that an ARC of this book was given to me by the author for the purpose of a fair and honest review.

Sweet holy hell.

The level of dark depraved debauchery that this author hits when she writes a new book is truly out of this world. Every book, I think that there is no way that she can outdo what she has done before. I need to quit saying that (or do I?) because it is almost as if she hears me and picks up that gauntlet and runs with it. EVERY. TIME.

The first part of this book includes the portion that was in the Vampire anthology so for anyone that hasn't read that will not be lost. I am glad for this because the author had me swiping faster than someone looking for love on Tinder. To say that it was gruesome and horrifying would be an understatement because the life that Jade has had to endure via the hands of her satanic father was heartbreaking. All she wanted was to be loved and understood and not used as a bargaining vessel and by vessel I really mean vagina. I wasn't sure how she would ever get to that point being that she was so prized as a daywalker. Yet, I could tell that there was definitely more to the story by the little hidden pieces or easter eggs that were given. AND sweet holiest of titfires was I right.

Malcolm and Jade have history here. There is an additional player in this as well, one that you cannot quite tell what his motive is. Is he worse? Or is he better? As this story starts to come together the missing fragments or pieces come together and everything starts falling in place. The twists that come out... I so wasn't prepared for this.

The connection and devotion that Malcolm shows Jade was truly sweet. He was in it to play the long game. Every interaction and word spoken was intentional and I admired him for that. His methods might have seemed harsh when in reality he just needed her to see and truly remember. The steam between these two. Sweet LAWD. I hope they bought stock in furniture and a handyman for repairs because these two were a maelstrom of EPIC proportions.

I loved how the author gave me a chance to savor the truths that I discovered as well as to see the motivations or feelings from the characters as they processed everything from emotions to reasons that things were unfolding as they were. I enjoyed how this book ended. It gave enough closure into Jade and Malcolm that I felt it was complete. Although it did set up a world in which other stories could be told which makes my heart happy, and truth be told, my therapist will be happier from all the additional money she will make from my increased visits.

I will say it time and time again that this author is one of the best for a reason. She has no qualms about writing about things that are uncomfortable and that teeter on the precipice of morally bankrupt. I cannot recommend this story enough.

An Immortal That Walks In The Sun

Jade is that immortal, but she goes through hell over and over again. Malcolm, the man that loves her is a true vampire who has such love to give to Jade it warms his immortal heart. Darius is the Devil himself, I hate him! Vladislov is another important Vampire in Jade, Malcom's and Darius's lives but not to spoil anything, you must read Cathedral to know everything that happens to understand the pain, torture, cruelty and love of these characters so you can appreciate what an outstanding thing the HEA is when it finally happens. I LOVED Cathedral and am so looking forward to the next book.

OMG!!! This book is crazy! Cain doesn't disappoint! Like one of those mind f-ck kind of books!
You don't want it to end even if the ending you're given is perfection. There aren't enough stars to even do this one justice.

If you're a fan of Cain's work then this is definitely up your alley. She goes above and beyond in the writing.

A must read and for sure in the top five favorite reads of the year!

I can't tell if I liked this. It made me confused. Mind fucked even.

This book is very dark and not something I have read before. I gave this paranormal book a chance as I don't mind vampires and fancied a dark read.

This story is about a vampire Jade (who is basically a half cast type and because of that is a 'daywalker') whose life is all over the place due to her father a devil vampire. He manipulates her, uses her and makes others use her for his own satisfaction. The romance in this story is in the form of Malcom, another vampire who is much older than Jade and loves her to bits. Nice right. Well since it's a vampire love story it's not that simple and since I'm into darker romances, we knew this wasn't going to be an easy relationship.

Jade has had a tough life because of her father and other such instances, she doesn't consider herself whole. Malcom loves her so much he guides her and builds her into this strong woman.

This story touches on abuse so be warned if your not into that, don't read it.

The way Addison Cain describes a sex scene like wow. Very poetic and metaphorical. I was a bit like okayyy.

description

A tongue tasting of my blood, of my pussy juices, of cloves and honey and shadows richer than the rarest Bordeaux danced with mine. Nicked on my fangs, he dripped heaven onto my tongue to mingle with a droplet of blood his quick nip had drawn forth from my lower lip

I did enjoy this book as it was something different and I'm always into that. However I don't think I enjoyed the style of this story and the writing. Probably not going to read another vampire story for a while.

Sooo, Malcom is amazing. Let me start with that. This guy is Alpha on another "uterus shuttering "level. He has devoted a countless number of years to Jade and wants them so entwined they could never be separated. This review can't convey the gravitas of his love and only buying this book and reading will you understand what this means. I don't have the gift like Addison does and it took her 27 chapters. She really created the ultimate lover in Malcolm.
Moving on to Jade. This poor chick is really tormented. She's blind to so much in this book ,but mostly Malcolm unfortunately. This is through a mental manipulation on her father's part. He has the ability to program her mind like an old VHS. He can erase memories and add new ones. This causes so much anguish. Her grandfather and Malcolm are the ones to help her fight through the false narratives in her head and get her POWER back! Overall, I loved it and I'm not a big vampire fan, but this is awsome! You have to pay attention on this journey , but you will enjoy it!

This is my first book by this Author and boy was I blown away. Best DR I’ve ever read. Jade has been used all her life. Malcom has loved Jade since birth and has essentially kept her alive. Her father is a total demon. She has to learn to live her life and Malcolm is the only one who really cares. This storyline was full of dark turns that I could have never saw coming. Excellent writing.

It didn't do much for me.. usually addison cain's books are like magical addictive fantasy to me but this one was plain.. didn't really connect to the characters. I am also disappointed with her release schedule. She keep releasing new stuff without finishing her older ones. Keeps us hanging and changing release dates that seems to me disrespectful to us the readers that support her.. with every release unfortunately i am less eager for the next one:(

What's wrong with me. What magic and sorcery does Addison Cain possess that she makes me read and devour the stuff that is generally completely and insanely beyond my boundaries. I mean.. OHMYGOD.

I cannot stand vampires or the concept of them, but this, as unsafe, wild and absolutely filthy this story was, I COULD NOT STOP. I just couldn't.

Oh the drama in her writing, the epic flair..

This book was 25% recycled material so I read the first part twice, which made the book short and expensive. I loved Catacombs so I wanted to know what happened to the characters. The story was a real disappointment and lacked the character development usually found in AC's books. I am a bit biased, I really don't like when the male romantic lead loves a women he knew when she was a small child, that's a bit gross to me. I really didn't understand the love between these two main characters and really didn't like Jade as the main lead. I know Jade when through a lot but she was unlikable and I just didn't care about her. The book felt flat and ends in a sequel. I am done with this author and her sequels or "soon". Her books are getting shorted and more expensive and the quality of writing has gone down. I don't think AC is aware of the backlash (she knows people are angry about being left hanging but dismisses it to fringe reviewers) maybe she is unaware many of us were once die hard fans and I notice the reviewers are getting more frustrated with her.

OMG sooooo good

This book was delicious. Jade and Malcom are on fire. I don’t normally gravitate toward vampire books but I read anything by Addison Cain. Malcom has waited lifetimes for his soulmate and he recognizes it in Jade. Her father, Darius , is an evil and sadistic ruler who manipulates and implants thoughts in weaker vampire’s minds. Jade, a day walking vampire, doesn’t know which memories she can trust. According to what she knows, Malcom ruined her life so she should hate him? Wow, the chemistry is off-the-charts and Malcom is oh-so-seductive and delicious. Jade is too stubborn and spoiled for her own good but luckily she’s a quick study. I devoured this book and am still thirsty for more bloody-good vampire smut! Can’t wait for Pearl’s HEA.

I found the story ok. I liked Malcolm - Jade, not so much. I know she’s supposed to be spoiled so it’s consistent with her character but it doesn’t make me like her or root for her. I found it a bit of a leap for her to finally realize her feelings for him and also how he loves her since she was born.

Parts I liked included his side of the story- his devotion and persistence but not invested like with Wren where I want to reread all the angsty parts and relive it. I liked how he denied her and I still love the scenes between them.

This was a vampire book unlike any other I've read. The world-building was really interesting and the

Jade is the only daughter of Darius, the vampire king and the only daywalker in existence. She's used as a pawn in her father's political games and is forced to have sex with a man everyday until she conceives a child. Her life is lonely because her every moment is controlled and watched. Plus, her father has warped her mind and memories as a child so much that she doesn't truly knows who she is and hates Malcolm.

Malcolm is Jade's guardian and watches her every moment of every day. He reports to her father who knows of his feelings for her. Even though sometimes he does things that hurts Jade, it's only because he's trying to save her from her father. He made a deal with another devil so that she could be safe: eternal loyalty in exchange for Jade.

Although the story was interesting it felt like it was missing something. Although I understand her circumstances and upbringing, I didn't like how Jade basically acted like a child the whole time. Everyone else in the story was superficial except for Malcolm and I still don't really understand her grandfather's motives.

I loved Addison Cain’s story. There’s something about a woman (daywalker) who can dish out the venom and disdain for her existence. It was sarcastic and beautiful with all the clever words. So much so that I could feel Jade’s contempt. Her hunger. Her pain. “Jade was a terrible vampire, a terrible human, but for a daywalker… she was everything.” And for anyone who read “Catacombs”, it will click on who Jade is. And Darius, just when you think he couldn’t have been any worse, here he is in “Cathedral”. And Malcolm. I can’t decide whether I like him or not. He has the whole tortured soul that Ms. Cain is famous for—whether it’s unrequited love, lust or obsession—in his case, maybe a bit of all three.

“Cathedral is a paranormal horror story coupled with psychological suspense and elements of erotica that makes for compelling reading even as you’re questioning your reading choices for the umpteenth time. Will there be a happy ending? Well you’ll have to read it to find out.

OMG, I love Jade and Malcolm. There is so much tension, chemistry, attraction, and energy between the two of them. There's just so much there, and it's impossible to not get grabbed and dragged into their story because they are just that magnetic.

Jade has that fragile, crazy, vulnerable, strong, powerful edge that Addison Cain seems to do really well. It's a very careful line to walk, and one step too far to either side and Jade's character would totally fail. The fact is, she really doesn't fail. She's perfectly imperfect perfection, and I totally adore her. I really love that whole crazy broken powerful kind of heroine.

Malcolm has that whole protective, dominant, alpha kind of vibe. He loves Jade so much, and it's so obvious that he does. Everything he does, he does for her, and he does everything possible to make sure she's safe. I think there is something a little different to the way that he takes care of Jade and the way that he takes care of her. It's fantastic.

Listen, I've been around. I'm 63 years old, been around the world with the military, seen a lot, done quite a bit. I'm no prude, not by any stretch. I've been pretty tolerant of the "50 shades of gray" type stuff going on with a lot of today's vamp/supe novels.

I roll my eyes, put it down to over-active imaginations, and forge on with the plot. This book is smut, pure and simple. The first few pages read like a bad Hustler or old Penthouse Magazine Forums. Who starts out a book with a discription of a FMF 3-way? Who does that? If that's your thing, go ahead with your bad self. It's not mine, and I made it less than a half dozen pages before I returned it for a refund.

I was given the chance to read this book straight from the author. Addison thank you so much for this amazing opportunity, because I absolutely love it. I will say this book is not for everybody with the dark nature of the book. This author has the capability to write such a dark, twisted, and depraved book with so much savvy and skill you can't help but love it. You will get pulled in from the very 1st page all the way to the very last.

Jade is our young heroine who happens to be a very young pure blood vampire. Her father is the king who treats her with so much disdain that he is not happy unless he is causing her pain and despair. She has lived years believing she is unworthy, because of all the mind games he has made her endure through the years. He uses her as a pawn and requires absolute obedience with everything he wants done. Enter Malcom our hero... He has loved Jade for as long as he can remember. He has always protected her in his own way. He knows exactly what her father has done and knows he will have his worked cut out for him. Malcom helps her find her way in their depraved and twisted world. I won't explain anymore about Malcom, and just how awesome I think he is.

All in all I truly enjoyed this story. I enjoyed following Jade on her journey as she discovered that there is nothing wrong with her and she is perfect the way she is. I think if you enjoy a dark read you will too!!

I liked the writing in Catacombs but Cathedral was weirdly-written, especially at the beginning. I was so confused. Malcom’s love is creepy af, but what did I expect? The whole story is twisted and pitch-black. It was impossible to stop reading though.

I was desperate for more of Jade and Malcolm since I was first introduced to them in Bite Me. I was super excited when Ms. Cain announced that she would be continuing their story and it definitely didn't disappoint! Cathedral is a standalone dark romance set in the bloody, gory and depraved world of modern day vampires. Though not necessary, I would suggest reading Catacombs prior to diving into Cathedral as it would give some valuable backstory and add more color to certain characters. While, as one might expect from Addison Cain, this story is not for the faint of heart and full of her signature brand of violence and depravity, the epic love story is what really shines through. I absolutely love Malcolm and his unwavering devotion to Jade even in the face of her hatred. He really made this book come alive for me and I could just live on these pages with him forever! Jade is such a tragic character, used, manipulated and unloved. It was great seeing her come into her own and find love and a purpose. I was also really intrigued by Vladislov and would love to see more from him. This book wrapped all the delicious twisted fun with an incredibly sweet and well deserved HEA. Definitely recommend to all fan of Addison Cain and dark romance!

The queen of darker than dark writing is back with a fang. I’ve been a follower of Addison’s writing for a while, I’m a fan of her omegaverse and I read one of her previous horror vampire novellas, Catacombs. Though interesting, Catacombs was convoluted and a bit of a mind fuck...which I had trouble putting together. I was confused. There is nothing confusing about Cathedral. We have our anti heroes Jade and Malcolm and villain Jade’s dad Darius. Jade is a day walker, a vampire that can tolerate the sun but is physically weaker than normal vampires. Malcolm...weeeeeelll is Malcolm (no spoiler :)), he has been taking care of Jade for years, looking out for her best interests and protecting her from others and herself. Darius, Jade’s murmurous, villainous, horrible dad had been torturing her almost from the moment she was born and seeks her to get pregnant with a new generation of day walkers.....he also forbids Malcolm from ever get closer to her (the why is a spoiler). Jade hates Malcolm, Malcolm loves Jade and Darius has done everything to keep them apart. But can love flourish in all this darkness and mind fuckery of deranged ancient vampires? That’s for me to know and for you to find out by reading the book ;)

Addison Cain is truly a master at writing dark romance. She is one of the best at writing romance into horror filled books. I can safely say that she is one of my favorite authors and I would gladly offer my soul if I could keep reading her work.

This is the continuation of Catacombs. Where you follow Peals daughter Jade as she tries to survive in the world of vampire politics. Her father Darius wants more daywalkers, so Jade has to spread her legs for whoever has curried favor each day, all the while spying on his political opponents. This is made harder because of her overwhelming/overprotective guardian Malcom, who does everything in his power to ensure her survival in a very harsh world.

I love that we get a more throughly picture of this hidden world. And it was really amazing following Jade as she grows as a person and ultimately makes her place in a very twisted world. This is really dark, depraved and full of gore and blood and only Addison Cain could make something as depraved as this into a sinfully arousing story.
