I received a free copy of the 11 book collection Romancing the Holidays by Kris Pearson, Monique McDonell et al and this review was given freely.
A eclectic mix of novellas centered around Christmastime and featuring a diverse group of characters and plots set mainly in sunny warm climates but does include one story featuring snow for us cold weather Christmas lovers. Each story is short, easy to read, and has a happy ending. Perfect for a long lunch break or a weekend in your favorite spot.

This was a nice grouping of holiday reads from various authors. Some felt more like full novels while others were novellas. I did find them to be enjoyable, sometimes funny, a little angst, a little suspense, all clean with some foreplay but overall heartwarming and a bundle right in line for the holidays. I did read them all and enjoyed hours and characters, the shifter, the lost, the leary and weary, the heartbroken, the second chances, the healing, the forgiveness. These authors take time to tear at your heart and bring the pieces back together. The characters will bring you into their lives and make you feel right at home. Great intro to some new authors and a nice check in with the old.

What a great mix, something for everyone.
Annie Seaton is the only author I've read before, so it's wonderful to discover new to me authors.
All revolving around the Christmas period we find love, friendships and romance.
Some of these you'll get through post Christmas lunch, others shorter or longer.
A fantastic Christmas gift to yourself, I highly recommend this set.

Romancing the Holidays
Eleven Christmas Themed Romances

This delightful collection of eleven romances includes something for everyone. Wanting to sample a few of the authors’ work before writing this review I chose three to read and review and look forward to reading the rest as Christmas approaches.

A CHRISTMAS TWIST by Kris Pearson
I love this author’s books and this story had me from beginning to end. It took me back to my time in college and made me think, “What If” although I never dated a twin in my life. I loved that the romance was for a widow in her forties that is given a second chance at love after having lived twenty or more years without any interaction with that long ago lover in all that time. The connection they had was still there and it was a joy to experience with them as their story unfolded...and the TWIST...oh my! Delightful story!

A CHRISTMAS WISH by Shirley Wine
A pastor on a mission to save someone in the community is not what I was expecting in this anthology. Seth is a man of God but he is also a man. When he first saw Paige he had feelings for her but then her life was upended and took a nosedive. This story is filled with the detritus of a dysfunctional family that left Paige reeling. All of the family is in pain and the way they finally resolve things is as big a part of this story as the romance between Seth and Paige.

BLIND DATE WITH A WEREWOLF by Sofia Grey (Snowdonia Wolves book 5)
Okay...a car stalls at the side of the road in Wales and a snowstorm might be lethal for Melissa BUT she is luckily saved by a man that just happens to find her. This could be the typical snowbound story or the werewolf snowbound story but it isn’t because the take on the shifter community is a bit more mellow than those I have encountered in shifter stories I have read so far. This is a story that I enjoyed and found a fun read while hoping that Owen would be able to woo Melissa and get her to stay with him forever.

Thank you to the author that offered me this ARC to read and review. I look forward to reading each and every one of the stories in this collection as the first three were excellent and introduced me to two new-to-me authors I hope to read more by in the future.

I was fortunate enough to win a copy of this great Christmastime themed book, written by different authors from different genres, but all with the Christmas theme in mind.

I love that these packed books bring together so many stories of series for a little bit of extra storyline, either with some of our favorite characters, or some new ones we haven't met in a full novel yet.

I have followed Sofia Grey's wolf books with great expectations, and her little extra story was wonderful.
A lit of great stories in here, and a nice easy way to get to know a new author!
Keep up the great work authors!!

This is a fun holiday collection of reads I enjoyed. This review is for Blind Date With A Wolf by Sophia Gray. Happenstance brings about a Christmas romance between human and shifter. I don't understand Mel's reluctance to give Owen a chance. She was shifty and prickly after she found out the truth and talked to Owen. She knew there was a connection, and she was going to dip! She put more faith/trust in strangers on her blind date route than she did Owen. WTH!!! Owen makes a grand gesture, and it all falls into place. Check it out. Great holiday romances.

Title: Romancing the Holidays
Authors: 11 Different Authors
Pages: 916

Romancing the Holidays is 11 stories in one festive book, giving readers a compilation of short and long stories each one different and each one enclosed with Christmas spirit. Romancing the Holidays had a great mix of stories and had something for everyone and it was great to have the opportunity to discover 11 new authors.

Personally, I struggled to connect with the book but I feel this is due to the fact that I am English and have only experienced English Christmas, most of the stories in Romancing the Holidays were based in Australia and therefore Christmas over there is a completely different experience. Therefore, I had a few up and down moments when reading.

This is my first time reviewing a book composed of a mix of different stories, so for my review of Romancing the Holidays, I will go through each book individually, and sum up my feelings, keeping it short and snappy.

Review:

Book 1- Christmas with the Boss by Annie Seaton
I found this story to be funny in places and light hearted. The characters were very likeable and I was able to form a connection with them. This book didn’t give me the Christmas feel I was after but it was an enjoyable little read. My Rating 3/5.

Book 2- Sunny with a Chance of Romance by Susanne Bellamy
I found it hard to connect with this book in all honest and felt that it moved a little too fast at the end, making the story a little unbelievable. My Rating 2/5

Book 3- More than Ornamental by Monique McDonell
I found this book to be quite tender and sweet with likeable characters and easy jumps from their perspectives. My Rating 3/5

Book 4- A Very Aussie Christmas by Ebony McKenna
I found it hard to connect with the language and the writing style used in this book. I struggled to enjoy the characters and unfortunately. I feel this book would be an easy going read for younger readers but for me it was a little too young with too much going on in one short story. My Rating 1/5

Book 5- A Christmas Twist by Kris Pearson
I found it a little hard to get my head around what was happening in this story. I spent most of the read feeling confused and unsure to what was happening and found the story to be a little unbelievable. My Rating 1/5

Book 6- 12 Days of Persuasion by Ashley Logan
This story started with a bang and I instantly found myself engaged with the book. I loved Miles the main character who was a charming, cheeky chappy. The story also highlighted the strain on Health Care professionals and how hard they work; they can’t shut off over the Christmas period. I enjoyed the banter between the male and female leads but at the same time it was tender, emotional and tugged on the heart strings. I was definitely left feeling Christmassy after this story and this has to be my favourite read out of the collection. My Rating 4/5

Book 7- A Christmas Wish by Shirley Wine
I felt this book to be a little dark for a Christmas Read, I was not excited or engaged unfortunately and I genuinely struggled to connect with the story and struggled to get my head around what was happening. My Rating 1/5
Book 8- A Second Chance for Christmas by Anne Kemp
I enjoyed the banter running through this story and found myself chuckling in places. The story had some lovely sayings and despite that I found it predictable in places, it was a nice pleasant little read. 3/5

Book 9- Melody’s Mistletoe Promise by Susan Downham
I found the characters in this story to be very likeable and loved Will, the male lead as he was the perfect gentlemen. I found the story to be engaging and tender in places and loved the happy ending despite it not feeling very Christmassy to me. My Rating 4/5

Book 10- Blind Date with a Wolf by Sofia Grey
I loved the fact that this story was based in the UK which gave me a lovely winter feel. I found the story to be a nice easy read but I did struggle to get my head round the concept of Werewolves and Christmas. My Rating 3/5

Book 11- All I Want for Christmas Is You by Gudrun Frerichs
This book did a fantastic job at raising awareness of domestic, emotional abuse. I found the book to be quite intense and the ending tugged on my heart strings, I was left wanting to know how the characters got on. I enjoyed the read despite the lack of Christmas Spirit it gave me. My Rating 3/5

Christmas With The Boss -Annie Seaton
Spending Christmas with Mr Iceberg is not what Jilly had in mind when she booked her beach get away! Can Dominic keep his hands to himself when he sees a whole new side to his executive assistant? Will the unknown matchmaker be successful or will Jilly and Dom stick to their rule of not mixing business and pleasure? A sweet novella.

Sunny With A Chance Of Romance- Suzanne Bellamy
Naughty or nice?
Charli has loved Damian since she was 12, will he ever see she has now grown up or will he remain blind? I enjoyed this book, the first I have read by Suzanne Bellamy. I was a little frustrated when in the first paragraph Mindy becomes Mandy, then back to Mindy. This is a little confusing but it was the only typo and the rest of the story flowed beautifully.

More Than Ornamental- Monique McDonell
Icing on a delicious cupcake!
Connor and Meg's journey is lovely but add in Ava, who steals your heart the minute you meet her, and you have an instant hit! Is there any way they can have a future or will they only ever have 'now'? To have a future together Meg will have to embrace her past, the past she has been running from.

Christmas - Ebony McKenna
#ThisIsMyLeastFavouriteBookInTheBoxset
I am afraid I found this book hard work, maybe because it is aimed at young adults, or because I am old and a little grouchy! I didn't like the hashtags, the writing style, language used or the single person view point, however I would imagine it is a novella that my teenaged daughters would love...so maybe it just isn't for me!

A Christmas Twist - Kris Pearson
Well Kris Pearson does it again, plot twists to make you gasp in shock before the hero sweeps in to make your pulse race and steal your heart. I don't want to say more and give any spoilers, but Gabi is a VERY lucky girl this Christmas! This book is definitely a Christmas treat.

12 Days of Persuasion- Ashley Logan
12 days of 'yes please'!
This is the first book I havd read by Ashley Logan and I loved it, I will be reading more. Miles is awesome - gorgeous, funny, clever and very, very sneaky. Can he thaw the beautiful Layla in 12 days and get his Christmas wish or will his stocking be empty come Christmas morning?

A Christmas Wish - Shirley Wine
Worth every heart-stopping minute!
This is not a lighthearted novella nor is it a traditional Christmas story, but is full of trust, forgiveness, understanding and love. Paige must learn from past mistakes and forgive herself before she can begin to move forward with her life. Seth is there every step of the way to support and encourage her...but is it just duty or could it be more?

A Second Chance For Christmas - Anne Kemp
The best Christmas gift you could ask for?
Such a sweet second chance story, beautifully written with characters that you are instantly drawn to, a supporting cast who cannot help but interfere and Buddy who creates chaos as he explodes into your world. A great addition to the boxset I will be looking for more by Anne Kemp.

Melodie's Mistletoe Promise - Susan Downham
Room service anyone?
I loved this story, however there are a number of typos which ruins the flow a little bit because the sentence doesn't make sense, so you have to go back and reread it. A little frustrating and a shame because Will and Melody are great characters and their Cinderella story is also sweet. I will try more by this author as I did enjoy her writing style.

Blind Date With a Wolf- Sofia Grey
Steamy!
Oh my goodness Owen can rescue me anytime! This is book 5 in the Snowdonia Wolves Series and books 1-4 are available on Kindle Unlimited so I will definitely be reading them.

All I Want For Christmas Is You - Gudrun Frerichs
Best laid plans...
What happens when your future plans go up in smoke? The Famous Four are about to find out...join them for a Chirstmas to remember. Written from multiple points of view and with quite a large cast of characters this book will take you through the full range of emotions.

A fantastic festive boxset at just 99p, or even better on Kindle Unlimited this is just what you need to start your Christmas season. Thank you ladies for another Christmas treat!

A wide variety of 11 romance novellas with a common theme of Christmas. Enjoyable reads. Each one is individually reviewed and rated below.

Christmas with the Boss - Annie Seaton
My second Australia book by this author and it’s just as good. A bit of a unique twist, but it made for an interesting read. A beach setting with great characters and, of course, a holiday theme.
5/5

Sunny with a chance of Romance - Susanne Bellamy
A fun mixture between business and personal life. A chance at romance between childhood friends. Beautiful settings and great characters.
5/5

More than Ornamental - Monique McDonell
I couldn’t find a blurb before reading this book and I was very excited to find a Hollywood/actor plot with a family theme.
It was an exciting and enjoyable read. Very sweet.
5/5

A Very Aussie Christmas - Ebony McKenna
Very much a different writing style than the previous books in this collection. I didn’t care for the use of hashtags - it made it feel as if I was reading something all on social media. maybe because it was dealing with teenagers and not adults, but it just kind of felt like I was reading the girls diary, except also not because I’m not sure that even teenage girls would write/think that way…
2/5

A Christmas Twist - Kris Pearson
An adventure. Reuniting and second chances. The past and the present. Twists and turns with wonderful characters.
5/5

12 Days of Persuasion - Ashley Logan
Energetic medical romance with a good dose of humor. I enjoyed reading from the male perspective. A fun and sweet Christmas read.
5/5

A Christmas Wish - Shirley Wine
A story about forgiveness and gossip and standing up for yourself and moving forward.
5/5

A Second Chance for Christmas- Anne Kemp
A second chance romance starting out with one party specifically wanting to get the other back. Rare beginning! A good dose of humor and great characters.
Very short and sweet.
I’d love to see the Leigh/Daryl and Maria/Ziggy love stories turned into books.
5/5

Melody’s Mistletoe Promise - Susan Downham
I loved the humor and the hotel setting. Fun and enjoyable characters.
5/5

Blind Date with a Wolf - Sofia Grey
I am not generally one to read much for romances that are paranormal or the specific shape shifter variety. That said, I did really enjoy this one.
5/5

All I Want for Christmas is You - Gudrun Frerichs
I like the four different perspectives. I just didn’t like the way the story was put together - it’s much too short. I think it should be either full length or a novella for each couple. Plus, it felt a little cliffhangerish with Thea’s story.
3.5/5

Christmas with the Boss-Annie Seaton****Boss & his executive assistance are aided by a ghostly matchmaker to break their no office romance rules turning what they planned to be a lonely Christmas into much more, very interesting & comical.
Sunny with a Chance of Romance-Susanne Bellamy****Best friends brother, she's all grown up now but their friendship has a huge test & she has to decide what's more important.
More than Ornamental-Monique McDonell*****Aww this one is sweet, heartwarming & clean romance. LA movie star (newfound) single dad & his sweet daughter fall for a local Australian.
A Very Aussie Christmas-Ebony McKenna**Young adult story combined with sad adult-sized issues, just not my cup of tea for a Christmas themed story.
A Christmas Twist-Kris Pearson*****Wow, definitely a shocking twist. Great ending though.
12 Days of Persuasion-Ashley Logan**Didn't like the ice queen, he seems really nice & family orientated but too desperate especially for a woman that rejects him repeatedly.
A Christmas Wish-Shirley Wine**Too risque, this would've probably been better to me without a church pastor.
A Second Chance for Christmas-Anne Kemp*****Enjoyed reading this, these two belong together. He needs some convincing though and she gets loads of support.
Melody’s Mistletoe Promise-Susan Downham***Humorous, full of mishaps for Melody.
Blind Date with a Wolf-Sofia Grey*****Love wolf shifters and their tenacity.
All I Want for Christmas-Gudrun Frerichs***This is good, I like the sisterhood but it is just too short to deal with all of their various relationship issues.
I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the authors.

Collection of Short Holiday Reads

This is a collection of eleven novellas, short stories, or excerpts. As the book has over 900 pages in real life, the stories are relatively short. I found the quality of the stories to be variable, as is usually the case in multi-author collections. There were certainly a few five-star reads in here, like the one about the new dad with the four-year-old daughter he never knew he had (More than Ornamental) and the medical romance Twelve Days of Persuasion. The latter was a good twist on the familiar medical tropes in that the hero was a nursing advisor and the heroine was a surgeon. Given the hospital setting during the holidays, the book had some bittersweet and poignant moments.

This is essentially a collection of short reads, so if you enjoy short-read romance of the holiday variety, you may very well enjoy this book.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

A great collection.
What a great collection for the holiday season you get 11 different authors. You almost have enough for the 12 days of Christmas how awesome is that plus there are some of the best writers out there in this collection. I got this arc from Annie Seaton on Booksprout so that is the one I read first. It is about an executive assistant Jill Henderson all she wants is a quiet Christmas but it does not look like that is what she is going to get. Believe it or not, this is a paranormal there is a pesky ghost added into the mix. When Jill sees Mr. Big Feet at the store she gets all hot and damn if when she looked up it was her boss. Now Dom (Dominic) had notice Miss Henderson at work and he liked what he saw and what she was wearing at the store was even better. This one was so funny so be prepared. I just loved it. Now for the remaining stories, you will find them all a treat too. I am so glad I have this collection I highly recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

There are some really enjoyable and memorable stories within this boxset and I was particularly touched by the books by Annie Seaton, Monique McDonell, Kris Pearson, Ashley Logan, and Shirley Wine. Plots that encompass the spirit of Christmas, romance and healing of the human spirit always leave me feeling a bit nostalgic and this book had it all. I was able to identify with the fact that the Christmas novellas took place in the Southern Hemisphere as we enjoy a similar Christmas in South Africa, where barbeques, swimming and outdoor activities around Christmas are the order of the day. I received a copy of this boxset as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

This is a diverse selection of romances set during the holidays. I enjoy these collections for finding new authors.

I liked the variety of stories. There really are all kinds of situations and a diverse set of characters represented. They are well written. They are not steamy stories but also do have sexual situations that are part of the storyline in many cases.

It is a great value and an opportunity to enjoy some great stories that bring smiles.

What a nice book to read, it has a mix of Aussie and non Aussie authors. All the books are related to Christmas Romances and if you are a lover of romance and Christmas then this is the book for you. Each story is not overly long but gets straight to the point of the story, It was a pleasure to read and I would certainly recommend it for a light read
