First of all wow this is a great story and I loved all the charters in this book Dora Nathan Brett Jesse Grant they're all fabulous poor Dora was a witch by her father's blood and her mother hated the thought that she was a witch in a mother always bugged her about getting a husband she was lonely so she decided to do a love spell behind her mother's back to fall in love halfway in the middle of her spell her mother shows up at her apartment she has to stop and then started again when she things spiral out of control by then this is definitely a very sexy tell I loved it it was fabulous this was definitely a 5-star read a real keeper

Dora is looking for love and shes hoping her boss at work might be that someone. When casual flirting doesn't help and shers desperate for a date to a a wedding her mum is forcing her to go to she takes matters into her own hands. Casting a spell which ends up with things going bad with her boss but her stumbling on 3 other guys instead. 3 bear shifters in fact - Nathan, Brett and Jesse. Oh buy do the sparks fly then. Loved this shifter RH book. Dora and the guys are great, a bit of action and plenty of sexual scenarios make for a damn good read

Book was okay overall, but I didn't care for the FMC. Everyone else remained pretty bland and underdeveloped - even the big bad who was a caricature. I also really hated the ending. There is no personal growth there. Rather than learning about the need to communicate or not judge people superficially, not be as shallow as she has realized she is, etc., she decides to just deliberately try to hurt her mom. She has reflected throughout the story that her mom isn't bad, that her mom loves her, and that her mom only drives her crazy because she's just so close compared to her dad. Rather than try to understand her mom or try to form a deeper relationship, she instead tries to traumatize her. With that, I was out on that FMC. You learned nothing, and I feel bad for your mates (though they probably deserve you since they thought you were great for doing something so terrible).

This is a great read! A well written reverse harem paranormal fantasy filled with magic, magical elements and 4 hot and sexy guys! Great storyline and fab characters, romance, laughter, love, anger and sorrow all makes this well worth a read!

Dora a witch decides to make a potion to get her boss to fall in love with her; except it totally backfires. In the meantime the 4 hotties at the antique store where she got her potion still has her vexed and returns for their help. Now her life is spiraling out of control , being fired, her boss out to get her and now she's in jail for suspicion of stealing confidential files. Now all 4, Nathan, Brett, Jessie and Grant are out to save her life. Its not long before the war is on and Dora is fighting for her life and cast a final spell to protect her fated mates.

OMG!!! I loved this book & couldn't put it down. Dora is a witch who fancies her boss so decides to make a spell to get him to fall in love with her & goes into an antique/magic shop to buy some ingredients for the spell where she finds 4 hot men working there. She makes up the spell but part way through her mum calls so she has to stop but then carries on with the spell after she has finished the call, so when she goes into work the next day excited to see her boss only he is extremely horrible to her even in front of the others in the office which ends up with her in tears & worried that her spell was wrong. She goes back to the magic shop hoping one of them maybe able to help her find out what she did wrong she explains to them what happened where the all listened to her telling her they will look into it for her, whilst she is there she feel something exciting when she is around them. when she leaves the 4 guys tell each other that she is something special. Things turn very bad with her boss & she feels like the guys could help her so she rings them for help. they then agree that she has to stay with them until they can find out what is happening with her boss. However, they all cannot help but give into the hot chemistry between them. Their feels go past just sex & that her boss wants to kill her they do everything they can to protect her. Their secrets have to be revealed to Dora but how will she react. This book is addictive & has you emotionally engrossed.

Dora was having a busy day at work, where the phones just wouldn’t stop ringing. She finally got a chance to bring her salad to her desk and her mother called to push her about finding a husband and producing grandchildren. When she started criticizing Dora’s being odd with her “freak DNA” and “voodoo blood” from her dad, Dora gets angry all over again. When she hangs up, she starts to think it might just be easier to use her magic to find that special someone she needs, and her boss seems like a good choice.

Dora head home to prepare her spell with a very powerful roseheart weed ingredient, which is interrupted by her mother. When she completes the spell, something has gone wrong with the spell and, instead of her boss being interested in her, he hates her. Since she had bought the ingredient at the magic shop, she hoped maybe the four guys, being more experienced with magic, could help her fix the problem she caused with her boss. Nathan, Grant, Brett, and Jesse, the bear shifter owners from the magic shop, are happy to help her resolve the problem, and all four are responding to her as if she is their mate. Perhaps this will stop her mother’s nagging about a boyfriend if she brings 4 guys to her sister’s wedding? Or maybe the troubles are not over yet!

This was a well-written, cute story that I enjoyed reading. The characters are unique and well-presented. Grab your copy and enjoy the story!

Dora is tired of her mother trying to interfere in her love life especially with an upcoming wedding she needs a date for. She thinks her boss would be a great catch. She takes matters in to her own hands & decides to cast a spell. She goes to a magic shop for a particular ingredient for the spell & she draws the attention of the 4 bear shifters who own & run the shop. When she gets home she starts the spell & in the middle of the spell her mother shows up interrupting the spell so she has to stop. After she leaves, Dora goes back & finishes the spell. The next day she takes extra care in getting ready for work only to get to work & her hopes are dashed when her boss yells at her. He's mean & nasty to her all day. She knows that she needs help so she goes back to the magic shop. There's an instant attraction to them & they tell her to contact them if she needs them.

I won't give away any more, but the rest of the story is filled with intrigue, lots of action, and some steamy scenes. Jade gives all of the characters different personalities & are all well-developed & well-written. This is a great series, each is a stand alone story. I loved this story & the series. I'm looking forward to more.

Backfired Magic, book three in the Mates and Magic series follows a witch named Dora Langley who works as an executive assistant in a local law office. Dora is looking for her “someone”, and when her mother calls to nag her about having a date to a wedding, Dora goes home to cast a spell to attract love. Ted, one of her bosses, who she later discovers is a wolf shifter is the subject of her spell, and she hopes that it will help her find love while getting her mother off her back. Bear shifters Brett, Grant, Jesse and Nathan Pierce all run the local antique/magic shop were they run into Dora one night as she is buying an ingredient for her spell. Dora does the spell, even through an interruption from her nosy mother, but she later discovers that the spell must have gone horribly wrong since Ted now seems to hate her. When she realizes that she is over her head, she heads back to the four hot guys and asks for help, but what she gets is so much more. Will Dora’s spell still lead her to find love? Or will she find more then she bargained for in the four new men in her life?

This is the third book in this series and in my opinion the best. Dora is smart but bullied by her mother about her magic and no boyfriend. She works at an attorney's office and is interested in one of the lawyers, Ted. After her mother's latest threat to set her up for her cousin's wedding, she decides to cast a spell to find true love. When she goes to get the items needed for the spell she meets four bear shifters. Nathan, Grant, Jesse and Brett own an antique shop with a side of magic shop. When she casts the spell it looks like it works, but things went wrong and Ted is out for blood. I was really glad she went back to the guys for help. They agree to help her and that's a good thing because she will need all the help she can get to fix this. These guys are the best yet and I love the way they get along together and with Dora. Backfires and true intentions.

Jade Alters brings us a witch who had to suppress her magic because her Mom frowns upon her abilities. Feeling lonely, and having a crush on her boss, Dora decides to try using her mystical abilities to get his attention, but her efforts backfire and now he hates her.

In her quest to reverse what she did wrong, Dora stumbles into the shop of four handsome shifters, and with their help, she attempts to reverse her spell. Her spell works, but this time, her magical abilities enable her t get closer to her four bear shifters..and her boss.

Trust Jade Alters to always throw a wrench in someone’s plans to find their happily-ever-after! This was a fast-paced romance, and as usual, I am glad that I get to read this author’s work.

When this book was shared with me, I hadn't read up on what the storyline was about. As I began reading and Dora's character materialized, I knew this was going to be a captivating story. Shapeshifter books have always piqued my interest, and adding a witch to the mix, just made it all the more enjoyable. Dora and her Bear Sleuth (Nathan, Brett, Grant, and Jesse) share an amazing bond with a side of magic. From their initial meeting, these characters were destined for true love. You will enjoy love, laughter, sadness, anger, and may even relate to how Dora's mother and her banter. This book is definitely a must-read.

This is a extremely good, entertaining shifter romance & the third book in the series “Mates & Magic” The characters are likable & well-developed with individual personalities. The story-line and plot is well-thought out & written.
It is about: a female witch (Dora) casts a spell looking for love but somehow it seems to have backfired, a manipulative mother, the bear shifters (Brett, Grant, Jesse & Nathan) that are determinate to protect Dora.
There is: various kinds of shifters, a witch, law enforcement, twists & turns, intrigue, suspense, adventure, action, humor, secrets, magic, spells, attractions, fated mates, life-threatening incidents, vendettas, enemies, conflict, violence, surprises, protectiveness, love, some steamy scenes & a wonderful happy ending.

A good short and sweet read. we have Dora who is half witch and her mother thinks she is a freak and should not practice being a witch. We have our four bears who run an antique shop. Dora works at a lawyers office and has a small crush on one of the lawyers. She goes to the antique shop to get some supplies for her potion since they sell that too. What will happen when she does the spell? Will she get her lawyer or will she get the bears? Will the spell go wrong and she will not get anyone? What will happen if it goes completely wrong and she is taken? Will her mother forgive her? Will her father help her?

In this story, we meet Dora, Nathan, Brett, Grant, Jesse, and Ted. Who are these people? How do they meet or know one another? I found myself really disliking Tedd. What did he do that had my hackles up? You will have to read and see! I adore Nathan, Brett, Grant, and Jesse. I loved what they did for a living. Very apropos. I do not care for the harpy in the book, but I love what Dora said in the end. I was scared for and with Dora for a bit, feeling helpless with what was ahppening. Read and see this really neat reverse harem story and how it plays out.

I absolutely loved this newest book in the Mates and Magic series. I loved the four guys who are bear shifters and work in an antique shop and deal in magic. And I really liked Dora our female lead. I really felt for her in her dealings with her crazy boss Ted, a highly unlikeable character. Dora's mother would have driven me round the bend if she'd been my mother and I liked how Dora's friendship and relationship with the guys allows Dora to become a stronger person. There was plenty of action and dealing with a possible spell gone wrong and crazy man Ted. I enjoyed the guys growing relationship with Dora, it seemed very natural. A great magical RH.

I thoroughly enjoyed this read. Jade is a master (mistress?) at weaving magical stories, giving us wonderful characters and seriously steamy scenes.
Dora is a young witch, having been told all her life she is a freak by an overbearing mother.
As she decides to have a go at casting a love spell, she meets her future mates. The tale takes a nasty twist and turn, but the strength of the fated mates bonds sees them through. Immersed in the story, I read this in one sitting. The steamy hot, multiple partner scene and Dora's confidence in herself made for a great finish.
Definitely a recommendation for Jade Alters fans, and those enjoying reverse harem and shifter romances.

Well that was some messed up spell for sure, or was it? Those bear shifters are yummy as hell, also protective, hard working and determined. However each of them is definitely different, still together they make great, perfectly working team. Dora is not seeing her worth and repressing part of herself due to her mother mostly. Not really standing for herself. It was lovely story which did brighten my evening.

What a great story!! I loved it! IT has some nice twists and turns and Dora and her guys are well written! I love the adventure of it and the changes in tempo throughout! Even Dora's relationship with her mother comes across as natuaral, if a little overbearing on the mother's side!
A great read and I plan to cathc up on the others in the series!!

Dora works in a law ofc and is a witch, but she hides her magic cause ofher mother. Nathan, Grant, Jesse and Brett are bear shifters and owners of a magic shop. Dora meets the guys when she goes to them when her spell goes wrong. Dora wanted the spell for her boss but the spell takes a different direction. Can Dora and the men be together? Will they get a HEA?

Well written fast paced story of a spell gone horribly wrong and sweet hot romance

This was a fun and sweet romance that had some shocking turns that had me on the edge of my seat. The action and danger sure spiced up this story and I really enjoyed the reading ride!
