Kit has returned to the Citadel for her second semester. Instead of dreading it this time around Kit is looking forward to returning to her classes, catching up with Hailey, and seeing Deangelo, Jimmy, and Chuck. However, the semester doesn't go as planned with the growing presence of the OS on campus, the disappearance of Principal Pierce, the danger of trash elementals, and the guys all acting strangely. At least she has Herman!

I'm not sure what to say. Semester 2 did not go as I hoped. Kiera Legend is a talented author. The writing is good, the overall storyline with the OS, Kit's family history, and the trash elementals is solid. It takes a political stance that is relevant in today's world. I adore Herman and Boadicea. These are the things I enjoy about this series. But there's the flip side which is more important to me in an RH than the politics or intrigue. The relationships. And these are not working. I am not a huge Jimmy fan. He seems more interested in his causes than dating. That's admirable but not desirable in a boyfriend. Chuck has no desire to be friends. He is her trainer and would-be lover. His use of the word ain't also makes him come across as uneducated. I grew up with rednecks. Ain't was not acceptable speech. I expect more from someone at this level of schooling. Deangelo, whom I love went completely off the relationship rails this time around. Honestly, this was understandable to me with Kit's approach to the guys. There's never been one deep conversation between them but plenty of expectations on her part. I felt like she was exposed as a hypocrite and then reacted harshly to the circumstances and his confession. I am Team Deangelo. This RH takes an absolutely unique approach and I am willing to wager there will be fans of this new spin. I am not one of them and hope that there is a more cohesive bond between Kit and the guys in term 3.

Kit is back and boy is she up against it in this second semester! As with book one there is tons of action, drama, suspense, mystery, magic and let’s not forget the romance and sexy guys! I loved the story development as well as the characters & their relationships growth and am excited for the next book!

Kit continues to find herself in trouble even if she doesn't me to. Add in the mystery of her family history as she learns of who they are and the OS is on the rise, but who can trust a group with so many secrets.

I should not have continued to book 2. I was so bored, I skimmed the second half of the book. I didn't care about Kit's projects or conspiracy mysteries. They were boring. The relationships suck. I can't stand when a love interest hooks up with another woman. I don't like the heroine's approach to exclusivity. I don't like this approach to reverse harem. They all seem lukewarm about each other at best. In fact, the whole series so far has lacked emotion, passion and i don't know... something. It's just flat. Won't continue.

Great book

Why Amazon insist on 20 words for a review via kindle, I don't know. Especially when I just want to say that I really enjoyed this book.

Welcome back to the Citadel. Kit is back and semester one is going to look like a cakewalk in comparison to what she is about to go through in semester two. Kit is going to watch as things go downhill one after another. But the question will be – can she surmount the odds and reclaim the place that has become her second home?
Beastly: The Citadel Semester 2 is an engaging follow-up to the first book in this paranormal academy series. Now, I will admit that it took me a minute to pick up on where things left off with book one, but it didn’t take me long. The author picks the story up after Christmas break and begins things again, but it’s not long before things begin to go wrong beginning with the disappearance of the school President. It’s not too far of a stretch to guess that the radical group Out of the Shadows has something to do with it. But this semester seems to be the one where Kit learns a lot about her own family and their history. I loved that aspect of this story. It is absolutely shocking at how connected her family tree is and all the terrible things that so many of them did.
The author doesn’t just leave Kit’s problems with her ancestry. This semester tries her budding relationships with Deangelo, Chuck, and Jimmy. Nothing is going as she planned or even hoped. I have to admit that I liked this because it shows me different sides of the characters and how they handle things. Also, the author works hard to show the characters in a more realistic light as they have to deal with less than ideal situations. The guys are each doing their own things and it honestly doesn’t sit that well with Kit. I will admit that at times I thought that Kit was being a bit of hypocrite, but she works hard to not be consumed by that. I just don’t like her feeling/acting like she needed to be the center of the guys' attention all the time.
I will say that I appreciate the author working in Kit spending more time with Hailey, but she still tends to blow Hailey off to go chasing after one of the guys. On the one hand, it’s disappointing, but on the other hand, I’m glad that Hailey is so good-natured about it. I must say one of my favorite aspects of this story is Herman the boggart. He’s absolutely adorable! LOL! I love the fact that he and Boadicea take on bigger roles in this story as well.
The author is doing a good job developing the characters in this series and the trials that they are going to have to face both with the OS and with their various relationships. I’m hopeful that Kit and the guys can come to a happy medium between each other and any others since Kit has made it clear she’s not looking to be exclusive. I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. If you enjoyed the first book in this series then I’m sure that you will enjoy this book. I’m looking forward to what the author has next up her sleeve with respect to semester three.

Kit and friends are back for their second semester at the Citadel after the holiday break. After a tense reunion with her parents and many unanswered questions about her family’s history, walking back into the halls of the school she finally feels at home. She is excited to see her friends and to see what is in store for them all this new semester. More information about Out of the Shadows is revealed, as well as new monsters to battle. Emotions also run high as her relationships’ statuses get sorted and Kit has several road bumps to navigate between guys, friends, and studies. And even though some unease travels through Kit’s group, they all band together when it counts to solve the new mystery and battle the bad guys.

Like with the first book in the series, this book contains plenty of action, suspense, mystery, laughs and relationship fun.

*I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

"I recieved an Advanced Review Copy of this book."
Kat is a very interesting character. She has so many guys around her that cares about her. But so much drama keeping happening that tears them apart. I like all the guys. There was definitely a element of mystery in this book while she was trying to rescue her pet and find the president of the college. I liked all the juicy sexy scenes cannot wait for more. I over all loved reading this story. Also I don't understand why Kat went all the way with Chuck and not Jimmy. I mean I kinda get it but she seems closer to Jimmy. I hope she ends up with them all and maybe throw in another sexy beast?

I love books like this where we get to know so much about each character Kat is such and interesting character and then she has all these boys swooning for her and with all her drama she deals with I am sure it’s hard to pick one guy but if I where her I would pick all of them. So much and venture and passion and love to go around in one series and that’s why I can’t stop reading them can’t Waite for book 3.

Kit is one bad a**. She knows how to fight and won’t deal with any crap. Kit finds her self trying to figure out what’s happening at the school again and if OS is behind it and trying to find the only adult who will tell her the truth about her family. All while trying to figure out her love life.
She cares for and loves her pet boggart Herman. Which I’m very happy we got to read about him more in this book.
Can not wait to read about Kit’s next adventure.

Love, love, love the second installment. It was so fun learning about the lineage along with Kit as she dives deeper into where she came from. Also a sense of suspense when she is playing detective and trying to save her new world. Can’t wait to see what other mischief Kit gets herself into as she settles further into her new life.

Beastly Semester 2 was amazing. The story was great. Not just for Kit to learn more in school but also about her family history and how she wants to be different. She does not shy away from danger and loves to run straight into it. She wants to keep her friends safe and will let nothing stand in her way even the OS. Great read.

Awesomeness

I'm not usually one for politics but I do love this new series. The angel could do with an attitude adjustment but that doesn't make it any less amazing. Can't wait to read more.
