When Cassie Coburn moved to London, she never thought she'd be involved in a quadruple homicide.
After a car accident ended her medical career before it even started, Cassie moved to London on a whim, expecting to see the sights and live the typical tourist backpacker lifestyle.
Instead she finds herself accompanying a French private detective, Violet Despuis, as they attempt to find out who poisoned four people in the middle of London.
Cassie's life soon includes this crazy detective, an ancient landlady with a curious past, a mischeivous orange cat who likes going for walks on a leash, and a super hot pathologist that Cassie is sure is out of her league.
And they haven't even found the murderer yet...
Follow Cassie through the streets of London in this boxed set containing the following novels by Samantha Silver: Poison in Paddington, Bombing in Belgravia and Whacked in Whitechapel.
Samantha Silver lives in British Columbia, Canada, along with her husband and seventeen-year-old dog named Terra.
When she's not writing cozy mysteries, Samantha loves travelling (she's most recently been to Egypt, Jordan and Florida) skiing, eating Dairy Queen, and complaining about how hard running is.

The main characters are a woman who has the brain of a very fine detective, reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes, and Cassie who was a premed student almost finished with her residency, injured in an accident and unable to perform the specialty she was training for- surgery. Cassie moves to London and meets Violet, the brainy French detective and they sort of fall into a working relationship solving some crimes. I found the plots very well done, the characters quite believable, the stories written with interesting queries, humor, intelligent planning and and very quick read as the tension builds in each of these 3 so I had to keep reading. The series is an especially well done one and I will be reading more of theses.both with hum
Enjoyable cozy mystery series centered on Cassie Coburn, a late 20s American who has landed in London after an accident ended her dream of becoming a surgeon. She's dealing with depression and happens upon a French woman, Violet, at the police station when Cassie reports a stolen bicycle. Violet is a private investigator (of sorts !!!) and Cassie tags along (at least at first). I have been reading these books at the same time that I'm reading some serious non fiction books - the light mysteries and quirky, likable characters have been a great balance which reading the heavier stuff.
The books had just the right combination of sleuthing and human interaction. From the first book in the series to the third book the reader can see the friendship between the two characters evolve along with the complexities of their cases. Adding another person, Violet’s sister, in book 3 also adds another touch of intrigue to the series. I’m going to enjoy the next series of books,
Set of three interesting cozies based on a Sherlock-like premise in which the MC, whose plans to become a surgeon were disrupted by an accident, meets a savant who solves crimes with her highly developed observational skills.
This book,, while still definitely a Cozy Mystery, is a little more intelligent and interesting than most. Definitely still a light book but worth reading.
Almost-cosy modern day mysteries set in London, with improbable situations, and some almost comic book characters, especially in book 3. On the whole, fun, and quick to read.
This was a fun set of mysteries. The series used characters that were female Sherlock and Watson set in modern times with new mysteries to solve. I enjoyed them.
