HawkSix months ago my whole world fell apart. I lost everything I thought I had in the blink of an eye. But none of it was ever mine, not really. Not sure I wanted it to be.There’s only one thing I want to be mine now, and it’s a woman who didn’t bat an eye at taking me down. But being around me isn’t safe. King’s back with a vengeance, ready to bring the fires of hell down on us for what we did, and his sights are set on what matters to each of us most. For me, that’s Shelly.ShellyHawk isn’t my normal kind of man. I’m not sure he’s anyone’s normal kind of man. He’s huge. And snarly. And wild. And damned if I can stay away from him. He’s probably bad for me and I don’t care. I’ve played it safe my whole life and now I’m ready for a little danger in my days. But the danger surrounding Hawk isn’t exactly what I had in mind. Hawk Wild is a suspense-filled MC novel with absolutely NO cheating and a guaranteed HEA.
The Hero is just my type: quiet, big, a little hard… but this book was a little disappointing, I don’t enjoy when big topics are not discussed between the couple, his parents, her parents, her house burned!!! And especially , WHY the Hero walks away from the heroine the next morning without a glance and stays silent for a week??? He didn’t ever say sorry, he didn’t explain, she didn’t say anything, they just fuck… no, that’s not good in my book! I’m sorry, I like the author and her books are very romantic, the sex scenes hot but the books are short and incomplete for my taste and this is the second time I has a bad ending with her books… If a man left your house without a goodbye, at least ask him… ufff

I liked that this picked up where Finding What’s Mine left off. I loved the banter between Shelly and Shaun. I loved that he didn’t hold her actions against her, but also didn’t let her off easily. Shaun was so protective of Shelly, even before he admitted what he was feeling. And Shelly was the perfect blend of sweet and crazy for Shaun.
I loved getting more of a glimpse of the life the Lost Boys lived under King’s rule and getting to see how they banded together after his actions in Finding What’s Mine. There was the perfect amount of mystery and action to keep me guessing along the way. Shelly went through a lot in this book and I loved the way she ultimately saved herself. She was just as strong willed as Kerri was before her and never let Shaun bulldoze over her.
Shaun’s demons stemming from his past were tragic. I loved how devoted he was to Shelly and how he worked to figure out if he could be the man for her. Shelly broke through his walls, but he had to be willing to accept her.
This was a great second book with lots of action, suspense and romance. I love the found family element and the girl gang that was being started with Kerri, Shelly and Jill. After that wrestling match between Felicity and Gypsy, I can’t wait to see where their story will lead next.
“Taming What’s Mine” builds on the overarching plot Janice Whiteaker established in her first Lost Boys book: “Finding What’s Mine.” Whiteaker introduces another great hero in Hawk, and begins to grow another incredible girl gang with the introduction of feisty heroine Shelly. “Taming What’s Mine” is a fast paced, suspenseful ride that continues to move the series forward. Readers get a chance to catch up with characters from the first Lost Boys book and get a closer look at the other members of the group sure to become more important as the on-going underlying storyline develops. Whiteaker does an excellent job of laying additional groundwork for the next book and the rest of the series as well, while still developing a solid, suspenseful story for Hawk and Shelly.
Hawk and Shelley’s story was always going to be an explosive one. Who in their right mind, drugs a gigantuan biker who never smiles and gets away with it. Shelley is then shunned by all of the bikers and she doesn’t know why. What Shelley doesn’t know is that she’s off limits because he has claimed her. This story starts when Evan and Kerris ends with King out of the picture . Unfortunately he comes back with retribution on his mind. A great addition to the series. I can’t wait for the next one.
I've read book 1 and now book 2 in this series in the last week. Now I can't wait for the rest of the series! Hawk and Shelly were perfect together. I loved the mix of her spunky smart mouth with his stubborn determination. This story continues from the first book and all of the characters continue to be present from the first book. Can't wait to see how the next couple make it and how the others continue to grow.
I am so enjoying this world of bad boy bikers with big hearts and the fortunate ladies who get to be their partners and loves. Shaun turned out to be such a big not so scary teddy bear, and who would have seen Shelly as the total badass she is. This quick romance kept me on the edge of my seat and laughing as well as gritting my teeth! Loved it!
Janice is becoming one of my favorite authors. Lost Boys series is such a great read. HEA for sure but the getting there is so much fun. The inner snark in these women is so great. Man they make me laugh. These Alphas love strong crazy women and together this story is getter better and better.
Love the continuing story line of this series. It makes me want to keep going. Which I have more than once. Shelly is my favorite kind of heroine, crazy and sweet. And Hawk is such a marshmallow, but only for her. I keep coming back to this series and I keep finding little nuggets that I've forgotten or missed the last time around. Keep it up Janice!
Liked this book. Shelly and Shaun started off feeling very similar to Shane and Heidi from Alaskan Security, but there were enough differences that it didn’t feel like duplicate characters.
Hawk & Shelly lead the parade of acting like immature preteens. Though this is a trilogy, I can never get the time already spent and don’t think I can waste more of my life on this. Rating: 1.75stars
I love him! Lol. This book is such a fun and terrifyingly insane couple. I am really enjoying the plot line and I think each book is getting better and better. I'm really invested in these characters.
I know this is only book two of this series, but i have many books by this author under twodifferent names and this one is drfinitely my favorite. Can't wait for more
As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner): Taming What’s Mine by Janice Whiteaker is the second book in her Lost Boys series and is a continuation of the storyline that played out in Finding What’s Mine but with another Lost Boy and his heroine; Hawk/Shaun and Shelly.
I really enjoyed this story. Shaun and Shelly are one of my favorite couples in this series! I loved their chemistry and how they fought for each other and built each other up!
I think my favorite scene in this book was when Shelly is at the gun range learning to shoot and Hawk, Tracker and Gypsy come in and she gets pissed and unloads the gun on the paper target’s balls LOL! Then, Hawk comes up behind her, sees what she’s done to the paper target and calls her, Hellcat. I know not everybody likes it, but I love when the hero/heroine come up with an endearment/nickname for the other person.
As with any Janice novel, you can expect strong heroines and heroes that appreciate their strengths, girl gang awesomeness, steamy scenes, and humor to break up the tension.
*This book was previously titled Hawk Wild when it was first published as a Lost Boys MC series.
Continuing on from Evan and Kerri’s book, all is not as done as we think with King!
Whilst Shelly’s made an impact on the boys after pulling one over on Hawk, she thinks she’s now purposely being ignored by the group, but it seems Hawks got other ideals for her. However there’s a clear spark between them that stirs a past he’s trying to distance himself from. However Hawk and the boys are forced into protection mode when King rears his ugly head.
Another fast paced read with some kick ass women and of cause hot men. The groups bond is only strengthening. Now we’re getting to know the characters of the other members, and it’s looking good. Can’t wait to see what’s to come with this story still unfolding.
This book was about Hawk/Shaun and Shelly. Hawk and the rest of their crew are still trying to navigate their new lifestyle by getting new jobs and establish themselves as good people. Shelley is best friends to Kerrie who in book one took down her horrible father, King, but now King has made bail and is making life for everyone hell. I loved Hawk and Shelly’s chemistry and their push and pull, I loved the suspense, and I loved seeing the other characters from book one. These are my favorite MC quick reads.
