Best friends Destiny Jenkins and Sammantha Adams entered college wanting to experience college life. Instead, they find themselves drawn to the Kent brothers; Sherrieff and Bizzarre. The Kent brothers didn't have a picture perfect life. Growing up in a gang ridden neighborhood in LA, was no walk in the park for the duo. They were headed down a dark path, that had them doing things they wanted left in the dark. Basketball offered them an escape from the dangerous lifestyle they were living. Now, after leaving their thuggish ways in the past, the Kent’s have everything they ever dreamed of; NBA careers, women who loved them, and a seemingly bright future. Just when everything seemed to be going well for the couples, they are struck a blow that no one was expecting. The Kent brother’s past lives comes back to haunt them with a vengeance. Once things explode, more lies, secrets, and betrayals hit them from all sides; leaving the women wondering who they fell in love with. Will these relationships be able to get through the drama, or will the women find out being held by a thug is too much to handle? This standalone is electrifying and will leave you wanting more!
This standalone was so good from beginning to end. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters and I couldn't put it down. It was a great coming of age story and I love the growth and development of each character. Life dealt them some situations and they learn to go after what they wanted and forgiveness. So glad that each couple got it together and got their happy ending. Great job Can do B.
I was shaking my head the whole time I was reading this book. The story line was amazing. The plot and locations was itching my whole head. I just want everybody to know that Los Angeles Ain’t Compton. Compton is it own entity and Love and hip hop LA made y’all believe otherwise. I have read other books and I’m like yea... I may just need to contact the author at this point!
If I had to use one word to describe this book I would say Different. I loved how it wasn’t just another book about the streets. I also loved how it showed to find someone who loves you for you without trying to change.
Gotta love these stand alones! Sherrieff is bae for real! Love his flow and style! Bizarre is his name all over but glad he manned up ! Destiny is a real one! Samm stepped it up a notch! The storyline is on point and relatable for many! Good job Candy B!
Bizzarre was my least favorite. He went through alot but he did a whole 360. I believe him and Sam had to separate in order to grow. Sherrieff and Destiny was meant to be. Great job as always
Destiny was a big turn off for me. She was so judgmental and stubborn. I read the book until the end, hoping that I would like her. However, it never happened. Of course, I’m glad that it worked out for everyone but she took away from the book for me.
The story was okay but there was a lot of typos throughout. There was wrong words used and it made it hard to read. I sometimes will read a good book more than once but not this one.
Glad these couples got it together. That damn bizarre was something else. Glad Destiny was able to make it right with her pops before it was too late. It’s nothing like having regrets that $hi* hits different
This was a ok read. This was my first read by this author and I kind of enjoyed the story line but it's was missing something. Lots of errors and bad editing. But I will continue to read some more of her work.
I loved everything about this book. In the beginning i could not stand Bizzare, and I had my doubts about Samm. Destiny was my favorite and I truly wish there was a part 3.
Bizzare I didn't like. I hated that Sherrieff and Bizzare MaDe d the Bet. And that Destiny found out she was to bougie I was proud of Sam. Love the couples. The Kent Brothers. Hope there more from them. A good read
I need a reload or something on these couples I hate the book ended but overall it was a great read I'm glad Bizarre got his act and life together and got Samm back and also Shereiff got Destiny back after he hurted her they was still in love 😍
I didn’t like how it was rushed towards the end of the book after that happened with sherrieff and destiny it skipped over to a year later wish it could’ve been more detailed but overall good book
This was a good book. This was my first time reading a book by this author and I can say I wasn’t disappointed at all. I just hate that got together at the end.
