ONE SWEETLY SATISFYING TREAT!!!
Awesome! Charlotte imparts one incredible, adventurous, sensational approach, dishing out a heart melting, page flipping bombshell, pulling out all the stops, boasting an enthralling storyline and engaging plot, binding this gem together flawlessly. A tumultuous wild ride with all the drama, intrigue, turmoil, betrayal and mounting suspense and unexpected situations along with a boatload of doubt, you have one mind-blowing adventure. Twixt, twinned and intermingled, exposing the heartfelt twists and soaring turns, grounding in it's strength and awe inspiring in it's depth, testing our characters in ways they never anticipated. Charlotte masters the the ups and downs, weaving a cocoon so intricately and tight, drawing you deeper into this tangled web until everything else ceases to exists. The personalities are well matched and blended with enough flaws for diversity. The chemistry builds as each layer is peeled back exposing an undeniable bond and amplifying affections that catapult this jewel to life beautifully. The scenes are so colorfully descriptive it paints an elaborate backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Outstanding job Charlotte, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.

A mail order bride who arrives by boat.

No long train rides. No uncomfortable stage coach rides. But she did get seasick.

This book is a different approach to the mail order bride. And I can't really tell you very much more than that without giving away the first part of the story, and I don't wanna do that.

Caleb is trying to raise his nephew but he's totally clueless about babies. His aunt Eleanor has lots of words to say about it which include she is adamant that a mail order bride is NOT what he needs. He disagrees. He doesn't need a bride -- he needs a mother, or caring individual for the little baby Justin. No bride.

Abigail goes with her mistress, the mail order bride, because she had promised Harriet's parents that she would always stay with her until she was either married or was no longer on this earth. All I will tell you at this point is the mail order bride — will not do well In Texas. On a ranch. Taking care of a baby? I don't think so.

So how does Abigail become Mail Order Abigail? Well, you're just gonna have to read the book to find out. It's quite an enjoyable read

Abagail grew up in an orphanage after her parents died in another state. A family took her in and cared for her in Boston. They passed and now she is traveling with their daughter by ship to Sweet Willow, Texas to marry a man named Caleb Walker. When they board the ship, the lady’s ex-fiancée comes running begging for her forgiveness. When Abagail and her two new friends find she abandoned the ship, her clothes, her and her upcoming nuptials, they could not believe it. Caleb owns a thriving ranch where he tends to his newborn nephew after his brother and his wife died. His aunt came to help him while he waited on his bride. Only, he found her maid instead after she saved a young girl from the water. Once everything was sorted out, his aunt wants him to settle for Abagail. Abagail is caring for the baby and needs to return to Boston to fulfill the promise she made to those who took her in. What will happen? Will she stay, marry Caleb, and live with a happy family? Or, will she return to Boston to serve the lady who abandoned her?

This is a different mail-order bride story; Abigail is Miss Peabody's companion. Adopted at about ten years of age, Abigail was thankful for the intercession of the Peabody family because Abigail lived in one of the most notorious orphanages in Boston. Abigail never understood that she was being used by the Peabody family when they convinced her to be a companion to their only child until Harriet married (or died).

Caleb Walker has become the guardian of his infant nephew Justin. He knows nothing about babies and requests a mail-order bride. Harriet was abandoned at the altar shortly before she became a mail-order bride (for Caleb). When her former fiancee' comes to the ship (they are traveling by ship to Galveston), he pleads with Harriet to marry him immediately.

When Abigail arrives to tell Caleb that Harriet has changed her mind, Caleb is upset. However, his Aunt Eleanor looked at things differently.

she was a orphan working for a fat lady who had debits and was left at the alter. she helped her write letters to a man in tx who was raising his twins child after his twin and wife died. he needed a mail order bride and she agreed if he paid off her debits which he did

they got on a boat to go to tx from boston. she was in the steerage area while the fat lady was up in a cabin.

the lady got off the boat to marry the man without telling the girl. she didnt find out till they were underway

when they got docked in tx the little girl fell in the ocean and she went to save her. the man she was supposed to meet saved them both. he was upset as she was not who he thought he was meeting and thought it was a scam

but his nephew really liked her and she loved him
they fell in love and got married and had sons of their own

A Charming Mail Order Bride Story

Abigail was accompanying her employer on a ship from Boston to Texas to become a mail order bride. Her employer changed her mind about going to Texas to become a bride and left the ship before arriving in Galveston and returned to Boston, leaving without telling Abigail. She continued on as her plans were to look after a baby in Texas.

Things went well with the baby and Abigail was able to help the baby to adjust. The rancher who had sent for a bride was happy that the original mail order bride had returned to Boston and asked Abigail to marry him. The baby was happy with Abigail and the rancher married her.

I enjoyed this book and plan to read other books by this author.

This story is a fine Western mail order bride story! The flow of the story is somehow easy and flowing just as one might want it to flow, not many surprises but a good story. The storyline is good and the characters are some quite a hoot but others are quite fine. Overall the story was so worth reading and it kept me at least reading almost without pause from the beginning until the end. It is with pleasure that I give this fine story fabulous four stars! And I hope that the story about Sarah will follow here very soon.

Good characters and plot.
When I read the description I was not sure how Abigail would be tricked into becoming a mail-order bride. As soon as you start reading it is easy to figure out and in the end, Miss Peabody did not just her but the baby and Caleb a big favor. Caleb and Abigail first meeting was not so grand, but slowly things started to come together for them. I enjoyed the piece it was a pretty quick read with good characters and plot. I am looking forward to the next book? Perhaps it is Sarah's story? If you like mail order bride stories I hope you check this one out. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

When Abigail is abandoned on the ship she's got it in her head to get back to Boston to fulfill her obligations. Only when she get to Texas and learns her words have been taken and used she's confused and can't believe her employer would betray her like that.
Caleb can't help feel duped by his mail order bride. She wrote to him using someone else's words. The person he fell for is in front of him, Abigail. Now he just has to decide if he can get her to stay or will she do anything to get back to Boston?
Love has a way of slowly wrapping its warmth around you as Caleb and Abigail discover

This is my first time reading something by this author. It is a sweet and clean Western romance. The story was well written and flowed very easily and the storyline was engaging and interesting. At first meeting, Caleb and Abigail are both disappointed and feel betrayed by the circumstances, as things were not as they expected them to be. But over time, as they get to know each other more closely, love starts to weave it's way into their hearts. This was a heartwarming story with endearing characters and an interesting plot.
A sweet, wholesome story you do not want to miss!

This was a fun read. Abigail was set to sail to Texas with her employer when she was left on the ship alone. And left alone to explain to the woman’s soon- to-be husband that she was no longer coming to marry him. Caleb was expecting someone totally different when she arrived and they were both irritated to learn that they had been duped. But maybe it was for the better. Abigail is quick to love Calebs baby nephew and they way she is endears herself to both Caleb and his aunt. She feels she must go back to Boston and her employer even though hear heart wants to stay there in Texas. It’s a beautiful and sweet story.

Great story!

Caleb lived in Texas on his very large ranch. He served two years in the navy but did not like it. So with his money he bought a small ranch which became a very large ranch. His twin brother and his sister in law died of the fever, leaving behind his nephew Justin. So now he needed a wife to help raise him. Abigail was sailing to Texas with someone that was going to become a mail order bride Caleb, but she left ship before it set sail. Abigail never knew until she was already out to sea. Upon arriving, she had to explain all to Caleb. Read and find out all the adventures she goes through.

I really enjoyed this book, actually a lot more than I thought I would, and I was optimistic to begin with. I adored little Justin. I really liked both Abigail and Caleb, and I thought they went well together. I will warn that they don’t actually meet until around 40%, but stick with it! It’s definitely worth the wait!

Enjoyed this sweet romance with Abigail and Caleb who meet when she travels with his mail order bride Miss Peabody who at the last minute sneaks off the ship without telling Abigail. When she arrives in Texas Caleb is expecting a older lady not the younger beautiful woman that he has to rescue from the waters surrounding the ship. Loved how she proved to him that she was a caring hard working woman and could care for his orphaned nephew in the end he noticed everything and loved her for it.

This is a new Author to me. I found the story to be well written and had a very good storyline it is a short story. I enjoyed seeing Abigail Winthrop and cowboy Caleb Walker's story come together, and everything they go through to get a happy ending. Baby Justin was a sweetheart, and Aunt Eleanor was just the woman these two needed in their lifes. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Loved this story!

I love when Mail Order Bride stories intertwine. This is a stand alone but does share characters with “Mail Order Sarah”. Can’t wait to find Laura’s story.

Abigail was not the intended Mail Oder Bride but was the companion to Miss Peabody who was set to marry Caleb Walker. Miss Peabody deserts Abigail and she is left to assist with Caleb’s infant nephew. Will she stay? A must read to find out.

A Pleasure to Read

What a fun story! I enjoyed reading something from a new-to-me author which kept me turning pages. I loved the characters and the way the story moved from little hope to dreams fulfilled. The characters were lovely, well-constructed, and easy to see in the era and in my mind's eye. The setting was equally well done. If you're looking for a clean, historical romance with some interesting turns, give this one a try.

Then she signed up to be a mail order bride. Her intended showed up and begged her to marry him after all. She agreed . Then Abbigail went on to Texas mad took her place. There is so much more in this story, enjoy

I am committed to reading all of Dearing's mail order bride books. They are easy reads that pulls at your heart strings. It really gets emotional when children are involved. Abigail got a dirty deal and so did Caleb. Eleanor and baby Justin were also impacted by what was deemed as a deal gone bad. I love how sometimes what is meant for evil turns out to be so good. Eleanor and Dr. Whitacre were a mess. I would love to see a story about them.

Sweet Read

While “Mail Order Abigail” is not my usual type of read, it was very sweet and perfect to read while waiting for an appointment or riding in the car.
Usually, I prefer books that are more involved and have deeper plots. This is not to denigrate Ms. Dearing or her books.
Since I did finish this one, maybe I’ll get another one when I need a “quickie read”!

Good read

I have enjoyed this series of mail order bride stories. It happened that I read this first one of the series last, but it really didn't matter. They were all very good stories, though this one seemed to be shorter than the others. I really hated to see them end and will be reading other books by this author.

Delightful. Wholesome. Light Entertainment.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story. For that is what it is - a nice story with m no preaching or morals or gratuitous violence or explicit sex. Just pleasant, easy bed time reading with the plot carried by the richness of its characters. Something different and something nice.
