My name is Dove Hendry.
Mine is Kingston Axton.
I was captured by darkness.
She has always been ours…
They groomed me for Midnight Mayhem. Like a trained possession, weak against their control.
She has been conditioned with our blood for years. She just doesn’t know it yet...
But Midnight Mayhem was the stained glass that concealed a very dark culture.
A culture that she is about to become the center of.
The Brothers of Kiznitch come in fours, and they’re not happy about me being hustled into their acts.
Or are we? Careful, Little Bird. A warning is a warning for a reason…
Mind-tricks.
Stunts.
Deceit.
Power.
But there’s something uglier that has been haunting me for years upon years. So ugly that I have never seen its face. I never had to. I’d hear his whispers through my internal screams, feel his shadow brush against my nightmares. He was my the monster that tormented me.
And maybe lived under your bed…
When I started Midnight Mayhem, his presence faded.
His whispers were silenced.
His shadow dissolving without a trace.
I wondered why that was.
She didn’t have to wonder for long…

5 ACE OF SPADES CROWNS

Well, in true Amo fashion, I’m sitting her at the end of In Peace Lies Havoc just staring. I don’t want to pick up another book. I don’t want to do anything. I want to stare at my kindle and hope more chapters appear, because I’m so in love with not just Kingston and Dove’s story, but the whole Midnight World she created.

I am head over heals in love with Kingston and all the Brothers are just to die for. I love all Amo’s alpha heroes. And while I have my favorites, Kingston is one to rival them all. He is broody, and protective and dangerous, he will most certainly bring readers to their knees throughout the story, on multiple occasions. I couldn’t help but fall under his devious and dangerous charm.

Dove’s story is truly what makes her interesting. Her back story, the glimpses shown in the short flashbacks, reveals just enough to keep readers guessing about this new heroine. Dove does have all the standard characteristics we admire in a Amo Heroine, and I loved the extra component or the show and what it brought to her character.

This story, in true Amo fashion, is 100% a wild ride. I couldn’t put this book down, and just when I thought I had it figured out, Amo flipped the script and I was back to staring at my kindle dumbfounded. Dumb. Founded. It has all the twists and turns we love, and a new world that just ensnared me. I’m Already dying for more.

In Peace Lies Havoc is your next must read dark romance. The unique plot line, the alpha males, the feisty heroine, and whole Midnight Mayhem world has me already begging for more.

“Strip, Little Bird. Show us what you’ve got,” King whispers, just as he shoves me back to my feet. “Dance like you fuck. Like exactly how you taste.”

Amo Jones didn't come to fucking play, fellas.
_______________

Ever wonder what would happen if Cirque Du Soleil went rogue and ended in an orgy?
In Peace Lies Havoc was a thrill-ride amongst many other rides, pun very much intended. It was addicting and full of angst that had me on the very edge... again, pun very much intended. The story was dark and gritty and never had me losing interest.

Before I start my review, I should probably mention that Amo Jones books are not for everyone. They weren't for me either until I tried this book on a whim because I am a die-hard fan of the circus-romance trope. I read a book by her last year that just did not sit right with me. I still hold strong to the points I made in that review but this just went to show me that surprises do really happen. Part of my reluctance to often try authors that I have had bad experiences with, again is the fact that I alike many others, loathe writing negative reviews. Because who really, wants to sit down and write all the things you felt were personally wrong with something?

I was so captivated by this book, it was almost dramatically ironic. Almost.

"I stopped breathing when I felt him behind me, his breathing on my nape. “We’ll be back for you, Little Bird.” The Shadow pressed into me from behind, his hard chest to my back. “I’ll always be back.”

I don't want to give a summary or a blurb to what this book is about because to be quite honest, I still don't know. It's a clusterfuck of emotions and stories that are so bizarre, you might actually believe them. I think I'm quite scared of Jones' mind because if she managed to whip up this story, who knows what else she's capable of?

I mean... this was a dark "captivity" romance set around a travelling sexual performance company had characters that made me want to hide. Then there was the mind games, angst games, murders, gangs/mobs, plot twists, stockholm syndrome (if you can call it that) and a seriously underrated trailer driver. Oh, and let's not forget this little nugget;

“Heads, I suck your pussy until you scream, to show this fool how a real man fucks. Or tails, I cut off each of your fingers and fuck you with them. Both will have you screamin’, baby. So, what will it be?”

* Cue the nervous laughter *

This wasn't perfect, I definitely found myself getting frustrated with some plotholes and annoyed at some of the events that unfolded. I wanted Dove to fight back harder and not be so oblivious, but then we might not have our story...Overall I was so hooked. The Brothers of Kiznitch are psychopathic and deliriously yummy even though they shouldn't be. If you're a fan of dark romance and haven't already read this gem, trust me... you won't regret it.

Also just a note:
I need Kohen's story.
I need Val and Rose to get together and kill all that sexual tension already.
Kyrin and Kenan make my heart melt and we only got a second of them.

"Intimacy is just like murder; they both make your heart race and your palms sweat while leaving your thoughts in disarray, but then when you’re done, you’re left with the remnants of someone else’s soul or blood on your hands."

Amo Jones doesn't make any stops with this book. It's a rollercoaster from start to finish and I was left with my mouth hanging open, not knowing what the everloving fuck I just read. I'm kinda still speechless, don't let the review fool you.

"I’ve lost my life to four men and they haven’t even killed me yet."

I live for these characters! The Sons of Kiznitch own my heart! In Peace Lies Havoc is Amo Jones at her very best!

Here's what I loved:
The characters!! These guys and girls have already imprinted on my heart!

The angst level is perfectly balanced! My anticipation grew after each successive chapter. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how the story would. It’s a fast paced read that reads really well

The plot is solid!! Very well constructed and executed. I can’t wait to see how the overall story ARC plays out. How the stories intersect and progress. I legit have a book hangover from hell. I want more, right flipping now!

It’s visually stunning. Although it’s the written word, I can picture the tent so well. The setting and descriptions really pulled me into the story. Truly, this is a huge selling point for me. This book is very enticing visually. It's emotive -- the characters pull you in and won't let go.

Overall, In Peace Lies Havoc is wickedly fun, sinfully sexy, and visually stunning! Amo Jones brings her A game in this new world of mystery and intrigue. This is a MUST READ!

no book has ever made me more confused than this one did. it truly was a complete mindfuck.

im soooorrryyy guys. i really did try to like this cuz of the hype but i just couldn't. the concept of this book is SO interesting and the edits on ig are so beautiful that i just wanted to read this but honestly? i loved the edits more than this book. i don't know if it's the hype that made me have high expectations or just the whole dark/circus romance thing but i probably should've had no expectations whatsoever because i don't think this book was all that. again, SORRY.

i have no idea why but the main thing that annoyed me was Dove's reaction to the whole thing.

to summarize on how Dove (h) reacted when she was kidnapped, sexually assaulted, forced to live in a rated R circus where there are orgies and leave her whole entire life behind, live with guys that she knows wants to kill her, and finally, falls "in love" with a guy that she knows hates her, and again, wants to kill her, this was her reaction:

i mean, issa mood but still. she was just super chill about everything and that annoyed me to no end. like girl, freak out for once!! have some realistic emotions!!

i've read some books with kidnapping and a whole lot of YA fantasy/dystopian books and the heroines there ALWAYS freak out and tries to escape, as you should when you're being kidnapped and forced to live another life. did the heroine react how any person would react? noo. she literally just went through everything and was like this is my new life? k cool. she wasn't even asking questions, she wasn't curious, she wasn't trying to escape, and it was just so unrealistic. listen, listen. i know this whole book is unrealistic but emotions/reactions, no matter the genre, should at least be realistic.

anywho rant is done and i just wanted to get that off my chest so let's move on as to why this book didn't work for me so SPOILERS AHEAD:

romance
King and Dove's "romance" was just a whole cycle with no development. it goes like this:
1. boy says he hates girl and wants to kill her.
2. girl ignores.
3. boy says "you're mine" and shows off his abs.
4. girl thinks he's hot and lets him touch and kiss her forgetting he hates her and wants to kill her.
5. boy says forget that happened i hate you.
6. girl ignores.
7. repeat.

so basically King gives her crumbs and Dove eats them up because betraying body syndrome , and continues to let him treat her like shit giving in easily because she's horny. yeah, no thanks. oh, and let's not forget when (major spoilers!) the whole time King thought the h was her sister, meaning he thought he was fucking his soulmate's sister because he didn't know the h was actually his soulmate this whole time until the 70% mark (!). you see how there's no development here? and let's not get started with the orgy scene...

OW/OM drama (spoilers)
speaking of the orgy scene, for those who want to be warned, the h gives one of the bros of kiznitch a bj in front of the H to show she's not jealous or something. there's no scene of H here with OW but it was implied they probably did something. few chapters later, h sees OW leave H's room the same day they hooked up but they didn't do anything.
"I'm worked up and under fucked thanks to Kingston. But apparently, Val was good enough for his royal penis."

this bugged me because thinking that H slept with OW, h still let him touch her and they even had sex for the first time after this. that's annoying.

writing
going back to my rant at the beginning, the emotions of the characters didn't seem right especially when it comes to the afterthoughts after important events. the inner monologue of Dove was like "going through the motions" kind of inner monologue as she just brushes things off easily that it made the character feel unrelatable and almost apathetic about EVERYTHING. honestly, Dove has the most nonchalant thought process i've ever read.

when she got hurt or jealous when he saw King and OW? didn't feel her jealousy. when she had a flashback about possibly having a sister? didn't feel the shock and curiosity. when she found out who her true mom is? didn't feel anything. why? because of how the writing conveys Dove's emotions. i just didn't feel anything.

characters
because of the writing style, i couldn't connect with the characters at all. if the emotions and reactions aren't shown properly, how can i be emotionally attached to the characters? so basically the book is like this:
character development < smut

the only characters i liked were Killian, Keaton, Rose, Kohen (love a psychopath), and Delila. they made me not want to dnf this book.

what i liked
the aesthetics reminded me of that carnival episode in euphoria and i fucking love that show and the makeups of the bros of kiznitch reminded me of the joker from the dark knight and that's my favorite movie of all time. everything that i wanted to happen happened in the last 30% of the book. i FINALLY connected with the characters, i finally see a development between the MCs and the plot finally moved forward but it was too little too late so.

* * *

am i still gonna continue with this series? uhh...

...yeah. i still like the whole aesthetic and concept and the next book is about Killian and apparently this dude is like professor x so im all for that.

here's me hoping the next books will be better *fingers crossed*

OMG!!! When Amo Jones said she is bringing her readers a whole new series, she definitely did not pull her punches. Good Lord - In Peace Lies Havoc (IPLH) was FIYAHHHH! Kingston and Dove were PHENOMENAL. Their story was filled with crazy sexual tension, shocking plot twists and the high octane - adrenaline pumping writing style we have come to love from this author. I LEGIT die for this Midnight Mayhem world!! This is Amo Jones at her finest!

IPLH was absolutely incredible. I loved the entire cast of characters and the engrossing, imaginative and addicting storyline. What I loved more than anything however, was how much Jones' writing has evolved. This story was dark, powerful, gritty and full of epic WTF moments. The shocking twists and turns kept me on edge. Furthermore, the sexy AF tension between King and Dove GAVE ME LIFE! Their sizzling chemistry and the shadowy secrets between them put this book on another level. This is hands down the BEST book Amo Jones has written to date and I am so deeply entrenched in this world it isn't even funny!

Overall, this was an AMAZING first book in a fabulous new series. I loved meeting the Sons of Kiznitch and the entire Midnight Mayhem family. It is evident after reading this book that Jones brought her "A" Game to the table and once again did the damn thing. Bravo. 5 stars! ~Ratula

This was a high octane ride of pure magic, a carnival ride of twists and turns, secrets and lies revealed at alarming speeds as I bowed down to King, the alpha, the ace of spades in a deadly pack of cards, who stole my heart along with the show!

❝ 𝐇𝐞'𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐡𝐨𝐥, 𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐬𝐬.❞

Wild, dark, entertaining, and steamy af, In Peace Lies Havoc is a crazy experience that only Amo Jones can provide! I swear this author's creativity and ability to screw with your mind is next level.
image host

If you've ever read one of her books, you know things aren't ever what they seem, so you start trying to figure shit out from page one. You will try and fail to spot plot twists coming, and you won't actually breathe easy until you reach the end. If it's a series, you can forget that sigh of relief too, because there is no way she won't leave you dangling on the edge of your seat! You honestly never know what Amo will do, and that's a huge part of the appeal of her books for me.
image host

Everytime I finish one of her stories, I'm left wondering what the fuck I just read. I have to sit there until I can process what happened enough to form some type of coherent thought. Even then, I don't feel like I'm ever able to adequately describe my feelings about her books.

image host

If you're waiting for me to discuss any specifics when it comes to the plot, I'm not going to be doing that. I think everyone should just go into this book blind. Go in knowing only what you get from the cover and the blurb, and that's it!
image host

Don't expect to never get aggravated with any of the characters, because if you're like me, you will. Probably more than once! I don't think I have ever read one of this author's books where I didn't want to throat punch somebody at some point. Lol The characters are imperfect individuals with an abundance of issues though, and normal is boring anyway, right?

image host

You might not always agree with everything that goes on, but you will be entertained, intrigued, and engaged the whole way through! Just strap in and hold onto your ass, because Amo is going to take you on an insane fucking ride! Your mind will be fucked, your panties will be wet, and you'll be left satisfied! What more could want?

If you enjoy alphaholes, morally gray characters, and insane storylines, this one's for you!

This is neither a circus nor a carnival. This is what happens when the clock strikes twelve and all of the monsters you thought never existed expose themselves.”

Well, hot damn, I did not expect this. I've been eyeing Amo Jones books for too long, and the blurb of this one just spoke to me. The second I read the blurb for this book, I knew this would be my first book by this author. And you know what? I'm completely hooked.

The story was so completely out of left field, and everything I never knew I wanted. I don't even know how to begin categorizing this story. Dark? Fantasy? A total and complete mindf*ck? All of the above? Suffice it to say I spent the better part of the first half asking myself what the hell I was reading and what in the ever loving hell was happening. The first half was one convoluted mindf*ck, but yet I couldn't tear my eyes away. I was completely captivated and riveted to the pages.
Love is a battlefield, and my knight is a villain.

Dove has been through plenty in her young love. After brutally losing her parents, she's coasted from foster home to foster home, and is now making ends meet as a stripper. Dance has always been a love of hers, and this is the one form of it she can allow herself. But her living and waking nightmare has been haunted by a shadow; a presence that's as threatening as it is alluring and mysterious.
You see, when I was a little girl, a shadow chased me. An entity. Instead of stepping out from behind it to feel the sun against my skin, this shadow ruined every expectation I had of seeing the light.

Then suddenly the presence that she's felt in the dark corners constantly watching her isn't just a figment of her mind. It's all too real, when she finds herself taken and thrown into the dark and mysterious world of Midnight Mayhem. It's not a circus, it's not a carnival, it's something altogether other, and at the heart of it are The Brothers of Kiznitch. All four are darkly handsome and hauntingly dangerous, but only one of them makes her heart beat a different rhythm every time he glares in her direction; King.

Now here's the thing, at first I questioned the connection between these two. Dove was too much of a pushover for my particular tastes. She would cave at the simplest push when it came to the brothers. There was a backbone somewhere there, and I was desperately hoping that she would let it show sooner rather than later. But as the puzzle pieces began to click in place around the 70% mark, I began to have one ah ha moment after another. All of the questions I had in the first half began to get answered and I couldn't tear myself way.

Now I will say that because I'm ultimately a picky shit, I did come across one too many continuity issues that bothered me. There were parts that also just didn't make sense. Like in on one page we learn that Dove barely speaks due to trauma in her past and in the next breath she's revealing this trauma and explaining her symptoms in perfect detail to a perfect stranger...and then it never comes up again. It's like she never had it to begin with.

But here's the thing, at the end of the day, I just couldn't bring myself to care less about any of this because I was completely enraptured by this story. Amo Jones is clearly one devious mind, and knows how to weave one screwed up tale. And for this reader? It's absolute catnip.

King was the ultimate villain and the anti-hero that I loved to hate. He runs hot and cold. He's dangerous and brimming with barely restrained violence. I couldn't get enough of him. There's plenty of secondary characters that were equally enigmatic that I can't wait to learn more about in the next books.

As for this one, while it may not have been prefect, it was entertaining AF! With every detail that was revealed, I fell further and further under the spell of Midnight Mayhem. Now if total alphaholes aren't your thing, this book probably won't hit all the right spots for you. But it sure as hell did for me. Dove came more out of her shell in the last part of the story and her behavior in the beginning certainly made more sense.

Amo Jones, you're an evil genius, and I for one can't wait to see what that devious brain of yours will think up next!

"Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity…"
(I may or may not have Ace of Spades by Motörhead playing in my head right now)
What a ride this book was! And I loved every minute of it! Unfortunately, in my opinion, it's better if you go into this book blind when it comes to its twists and turns, so I'll be making a spoiler-free review. And let me tell you, that is not going to be easy!

"What makes you think I had a life worth losing?"
From the start, we're introduced to Dove, the heroine. I struggled a bit to connect to her, because, to be honest, I only started understanding the book at around 65%. It's supposed to take you on a loop, and you're supposed to be confused. A bit like Dove, whose life has definitely been rough, and sad.

"The only difference between him and the monster that awaits you in those nightmares when you close your eyes is that Kingston comes dressed as everything you’ve ever wanted."
Kingston was unlike any of my usual favorite heroes. I started off hating him, I moved on to understanding him, and lastly... yep, I really like him. I may not understand him completely because his life is damaged as well, but it would be hard not to fall for him anyway.

"Trust is earned; it’s not given just because someone has a pretty smile. Pretty smiles are the way trust is broken. Pretty smiles are the pavements that crack."
Think of Midnight Mayhem as a carnival, if you want. A circus? Just a show? It's neither, and it's all of them. It's ugly, it's depraved and captivating, and its main act is the Brothers of Kiznitch. Four men, very different, very messed up (in different ways) and strangely very appealing as well.
When Dove finds herself as part of Midnight Mayhem and having to perform with the Brothers, she needs to roll with it. But she finds herself becoming a part of all of it - when she's never felt like part of anything before.

"That’s the thing with King and me. We write our story in invisible ink, so no one else can read it."
Dove connects to the people of Midnight Mayhem in different ways. Her connection to Kingston is absolutely insane from the get go. The tension, the chemistry, the heat, the ugly and all the beautiful they only show each other. It's dancing on the edge of danger and wanting to be spun just one more time, just for the hell of it.
And it's freaking sexy!

"Give me your pain, Dove," he whispers into my hair. "Give me all of it."
"Why." I shake, pressing against him harder.
"To numb mine."

Like I said when I finished it, I hit "The End" at 5:28 in the morning. I kept telling myself I'd just go one more chapter, but there was no way I could do that. Amo Jones spun her tale wonderfully, and trapped me in it.
So much so that I'll be reading book 2 next!

"Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival..."but what Midnight Mayhem is, is one hell of a ride! In Peace Lies Havoc the first standalone in the new Midnight Mayhem series by Amo Jones is the most creative most unique story I have ever read! The writing is so magically descriptive I pictured every scene as clearly as if I was a ticket holder in the front row. From the black and lilac tent to the Kiznitch star, to the crazy stunts and captivating acts of the performers. I didn't just read this book I EXPERIENCED it! I was drawn into the mind tricks of the characters both in and out of the show and felt the power of each performance! The depth of her writing and complexity of her characters is what keeps me coming back for more from this author! She doesn't just write books she takes her readers on journeys through her creativity!
Kingston Axton has the face of the devil with a darkness inside him that both terrifies and thrills.
"He truly is magnificent to look at, but just as frightening."
He's always watching always listening and hunting his prey with only one goal in mind.
Dove Hendry is broken from a past she can't remember and facing an uncertain future. She doesn't know who she can trust but despite her growing feelings for the broody King she knows his only feeling for her is hate. Or is it?
"he's scary as shit, but I can't help but be drawn to the beast"
The sexual tension and push and pull between characters is utterly addicting and unmatched by any other author I've read! The Brothers of Kiznitch are a whole new batch of sexy Alphaholes that will have readers salivating. I mean seriously what kind of wizardry is this that makes me fall for these arrogant and brooding men?!
In true Amo Jones fashion not everything in Midnight Mayhem is as it seems. This new world is full of lies, deceit, lust, revenge and mind bending plot twists. The Brothers aren't the only ones with mind tricks as the biggest one comes from the author herself!
In Peace Lies Havoc is a MUST READ dark romance and I just became a lifetime ticket holder to Midnight Mayhem!
5 STARS TO THE QUEEN OF DARK ROMANCE

How do I even begin to describe the the absolute awe and love I have for this book and this author.

This book was deliciously dark, twisted, sensual, angsty, deviant, and completely captivating. The way the world of Midnight Mayhem came together. Each intricately woven piece creating this unique masterpiece that readers can lose themselves in and escape to. A madness that I would devour time and time again, because Amo’s words are worth losing my sanity over and over again for.

Each character, no matter how small, had an integral part in the story. Each bringing their unique flair and individual personality to this distinctive and special story. Just as I thought I was starting to put pieces of the story together, Amo shatters all senses of my reality. Constantly keeping me on my toes trying to figure out what will happen next.

The Brothers...and Dove create this undeniable chemistry and fluid connection that brought this story to life in a way I never thought possible. The enigmatic energy that pulses through this story and these characters like a living, breathing entity is unreal and something only Amo Jones can do.

From the unique setting and scenery, to the incredible characters, to the especial plot line and twists that constantly keep you wanting more, are completely and utterly out of this world. No one creates a story quite like Amo Jones. She’s proves time and time again why her stories are so uniquely special. Why no one can mindf**k quite like her. And why readers continue to either stay devoted to her stories or find themselves lost in her words never to leave. Amo Jones is and always will be my Dark Queen. No one writes like she does. So completely raw and authentic, so captivating and genuine, and so uniquely herself.

Be warned: You need to clear your schedule before you open the cover of this book. With nothing more than 26 letters, Amo becons you into the pages, then grabs you by the throat and yanks you head-first into the opulent, terrifying, sexually-charged, dazzling, dangerous, multi-layered world of Midnight Mayhem. In Peace Lies Havoc is one of the most exciting, imersive, original books I've ever read. Or should I say, experienced. I give it five black and lilac-striped stars!

Love this authors work, she's the queen of misdirection and mind games and I always know I'm gonna get one hell of a ride along the way.
This one, as usual, doesn't disappoint and is set in the world of Midnight Mayhem a travelling X-rated entourage of visual delights and mayhem with a very unusual recruitment process.
This was as intriguing as it was confusing, a totally unique read that I had no clue most of the time what was actually occurring.
With dark themes and blurred sexual boundaries, this had a major dark edgy vibe to it that I absolutely loved.
At the centre here, we have Kingston and Dove, or little bird as shes known (loved the nickname).
Both have their own roles to play in the upcoming drama and this book really does a number in terms of what you imagine is occurring and what actually is.
No cliffhangers here and this one ends in an HFN ending which was fantastic.
There is a book 2 wether that focuses on the same couple or introduces another pair I don't actually know.
I highly recommend this one it really was a fantastic experience.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of In Peace Lies Havoc (Midnight Mayhem #1).

“Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity…”

And this is exactly what happened to me..because I have no idea WTF did I just read.

So first things first , I started this book because :
1. I had this in my TBR list for a while now and I was very intrigued by a circus-dark romance trope.
2. My Instagram page went crazy with promo and aesthetics for the second book that was released today...soooo...OF COURSE I am gonna join the rush and see for myself what everyone is bragging about..but in order to do so I had to take this in order .
So here we go!

I would summary this for you..but I have not a fucking clue what I just read tbh, its a death wheel of emotions and strange stories...

Ok..so...King and Dove story is certainly unique and bizarre. This author is a true storyteller and her imagination left me scared and confused but also slightly aroused lol.
So much happens, and the plot is so twisted and dark an a bit unrealistic yeah..but dam I was hooked!

"I wasn’t saved by Prince Charming. I was saved by a villain, and fuck being on his warpath."

It wasn't perfect, I found myself annoyed and frustrated..I wanted Dove to have more of a spine and fight harder and to stop being so oblivious of all that happens around her, but then I suppose the story wouldn't be the same as it was.

This 4 guys -the brothers- plus the rest o the crew are something else I m telling you..actually all characters in this book need a check with reality because it seems they live in their own world apart from us normal people.

I have some issues with some aspects in this book..so I m just gonna lay it all here...so this part might be a bit spoilerish so be aware:

For this part I want to tell you that I am Romanian..so I actually know what I am talking about here.😁😁

They are talking about romanian folklore here: - Killian smirks. Something he does a lot. “It’s just folklore, but yeah, it is. They say that if a woman dances in front of a fire after midnight, she’s offering her body up as a vessel for one of her ancestors to jump into.” - and I think what they are talking about is actually "Sânziene" the Romanian name for gentle fairies who play an important part in local folklore, who designates an annual festival in the fairies' honor . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S%C3%A2...
Ok..why I am telling this is because I believe if you want to settle on a certain country myths/legend and traditions you need to research very well and be certain of the info you give and not a bunch of bull..My point is what Kill said above is totally wrong and not a part of our folklore.

"My father spoke fluent English, but Romanian was his first language, because it’s the land of our family. We moved between Greek and Latin, but Latin was the language we mostly used, with it being the original language of our country. Of us."

Ok..... I feel insulted tbh 😂😂 who in the actual fuck speaks Latin anymore?
We - Romanians- never spoke Latin, yes our language like Spanish, Italian, french, Greek and so on evolved from several dialects of Vulgar Latin, but never was the case we actually spoke it.
So this is a thing that I saw in another book , a book that I loved, but because of my frustration with this incorrect information I couldn't enjoy the book at 100%, the case with this one also.
Again..you based your story on romanian descendants..but not even one name this people have is romanian...not even one, the village you used would never be called like that in Romania..because our names never start with "K" . Maybe I am being harsh...and in the end this is authors imagination and her story..but I wanted so say all this anyway so yeah..there you go!

😂😂😂Ok..now that this is out of my system..my point is...AUTHORS! you have so many fans from different side of this world..Amo Jones , you happen to have readers in Romania.. if you guys have doubts about words/ legends etc why don't you ask a bit of help? I am sure any of us would be glad to help.

Overall, I really really enjoyed this..was a mindfuck and a rollercoster of everything 😂 so I would definitely read more..the next book actually..TODAY😂😂

In Peace Lies Havoc is EVERYTHING!

Sinfully sexy and deliciously dirty, it’s Amo Jones at her best. It’s twisty and dark, everything that I come to love in an Amo read. I’m hooked. Addicted, and jonesing for more of the Midnight Mayhem world.

Dove, King and the rest of the characters now own me. Every word.. Pure perfection. All consuming from the beginning to the end.

As usually Amo Jones has me wishing for just one more page. Her words slay me and keeps me hooked. I couldn’t put this book down. I couldn’t let go of this new series from Amo. It’s just so incredible.

This is a book that you will devour every single word and wish that more words will pop up on your Kindle. The ride is crazy, but you will become obsessed with this world.

Hold on tight.

Ever had a book hyped up to you so much and the synopsis sounds friggin amazing and then you start reading the book and it's hard to get into but then you find a bit of a groove and you're enjoying elements of it but a lot of parts keep throwing you out of the story and you just can't enjoy it?? Yeah, that was me with this book.

I'm still so confused by the big reveal, like I have more questions than I have answers. What on earth is this world Amo Jones has created? Did I need to read another book or something to understand the family dynamic of this carnival which is run by the mafia or something?? Is it supernatural? Who are the bad guys who are revealed at like 80% in the book but given no context? Why are they kidnapping people to join this circus? What is this mysterious country they are all from. Seriously, why wasn't any of this explained properly??

Also why did every guy have to have a name starting with K?? Honestly, at one point there was a chapter with about 15 K names in it and I was so so confused. It took me long enough to differentiate between the brothers at the start but then their dads and other random guys all had K names too.

The two main characters were...weird. Kingston had moments where he was pretty sexy and mysterious but mostly I just didn't get him and Dove...girlfriend has all this crazy shit happen to her and she's just like "meh, whatever". Totally not a normal reaction at all and I just wanted her to...I dunno, run away, ask questions, fight..any of those things but she's just like "this is my life now" ...okkkkay.

I enjoyed the circus elements and the brothers routines but they were not explained enough and they only did 2 shows in the whole book. Also I had to laugh when Dove gets given her own show because she has this brilliant performance idea to dance on stage, grind on some audience members and serve them wine...Like woah!!!! My mind is so blown by this totally original sounding idea, like I've never seen anything like this before, it's not like this happens in literally every strip club ever but sure, she's a fucking visionary.

The constant brand name dropping. Please stop. Only peasants feel the need to tell you what brand they are wearing and honestly no one cares.

I wanted to like this book so hard and the concept was great but the execution was just so half done. The way certain events happened made no sense, the way characters reacted to said events made no sense. I felt like I was missing part of the book, like did someone edit out all the bits that explained what was happening because I felt so lost.

This book is so bad. If I could give it zero stars, I would. The story is beyond ridiculous and the characters are unrealistic and non relatable clowns or stupid af. The story and plot of this book are crazy.

Reading this was definitely a waste of my time.

5 Stars The Queen of Dark Romance Does It Again!!!

The author's mind is a dark and twisted place and I want to live there with her. She created a whole new world with characters I both loved and loved to hate. Off-the-charts intensity that kept me captivated until the last word. And that beginning...I was completely in awe by the end of the prologue. This is a book that you won't want to put down.

Dove is quiet. She speaks only when she has something to say. Life has left her little to be upbeat about, but she manages to stay kind and caring. As the sole survivor of a horrible loss, she is resilient and strong. A true fighter. And an incredibly talented and beautiful dancer.

King has been groomed since birth. He has responsibilities to his family and in his world family is everything. Family comes before all else. No sacrifice is too great. Cruelty and taking what he wants is ingrained. King is ruthless and you'll want him all the more because of it.

When Dove comes to Midnight Mayhem, no one expected the girl she was. She had a purpose, but no one expected her to change them. She was not just the new girl. She was the girl that would change everything.

The brothers will give you a whole new crew to lust after. The just emit sex appeal and evoke strong emotions. It's going to get smokin' HOT!

The twists kept me wondering. I was always trying to think of what was going to happen next. You will be on the edge of your seat. Don't bother trying to figure it out...enjoy this twisted ride that you won't want to end.

Another great read by this author. She continues to deliver story's that keep me coming back and always wanting MORE.

“All things sinister taste like honey.”

You bet your booty I’m getting that tattooed. Right up my alley.

Alright so here’s the deal: Amo Jones writes stories that have the ability to twist you inside out, force you into a smoking habit, and have you questioning if you’re just too dumb to figure it out or if she’s just THAT good.

She’s that good.

I genuinely had no fucking idea what was going on in this book. I was both turned on and terrified of the Brothers of Kiznitch but I desperately wanted to see them accept Dovey into their crew of madness. I was transfixed by the acts in this (not) carnival/circus, though at times I was confused by some of the descriptions because I haven’t seen many circus acts before (I highly suggest joining Amo’s FB group...she posted some pictures that are sexy as hell and help a lot) but I was never pulled out of the world.

Midnight Mayhem is truly made from nightmares and you spend the first 75% of this book questioning your sanity. I got so sucked in that I found myself salivating over creepy clowns and burning angels. The whole vibe of the story bled darkness, giving off witchy vibes and creating moments where you doubt your own reality. Its madness.

Amo’s stories always feel fresh. When you read them you know you’re NEVER going to read a story from her that’s been done like she does it. Antiheroes? Sure. Amo’s antiheroes? There’s none like them. They’re so dark you find that if the devil was anything like a Kiznitch brother...you’d sell your soul in seconds. They push boundaries and make you uncomfortable but their girls? Fucking Dope. The females in these series are real girls. They act like I’ve acted before, they talk like I’ve talked. They’re annoying, they’re mouthy, they make decisions that make you want to scream. But they’re also strong as hell, relatable, and honest. Being inside their heads feels fresh and modern, up to date with current times, talking about things I see daily.

The soundtrack? Get the fuck outta here. I listened to every song as they popped up throughout the book and let me tell you...I have been jamming ever since.

This book has triggers, it’s dark...REALLY dark, but it’s Amo. And it’s amazing.

"His voice is like silk, soft enough to coax, but strong enough to wrap around my throat and choke me."

The mysterious, and decadent worlds this Author creates is among my very favorite to disappear in to, but this....this upped the ante that had my brain scrambling, my heart beating a mile a minute, and my whole body on FIRE. The unknown is only hidden in the shadows by the sheer basal attraction that can't be denied, yet that love/hate ignited like gasoline and a thousand matches. King and Dove were that kind of push/pull perfection I eat up as if I were starving and their story became an addiction that I wasn't able to shake until I inhaled the last word. Darkly seductive, whirling with lust, hypnotic attraction, this held me mesmerized until THE END. The world of Mayhem should only be entered if you have no serious plans and binged with the expectation that you will emerge a die hard fan of this Author, because this....is....why...she...is...the....BEST at this type of story. I thank the Author for providing a new world and the book to review!!!

Once you read one, you've read them all! This book is literally Elite Kings all over again.

I mean seriously.

1. The characters are the exact same. One serious and scary (Brantley and Kyrin), goofy and lovable (Kill and Nate), and hot murderous asshole (Bishop and Kingston).
2. Same plot: Falls in love with a girl that you're supposed to kill.
3. Another rape scene, because seriously what Amo Jones book is complete without a rape or a mention of childhood sexual trauma.
4. Another book with multiple references that are never explained. Who or what the hell is a "fifth"? Do they have magic when multiple times they mention magic not being real??? Why the hell are they so rich but travel around with a live porn circus?

Amo Jones really does have interesting concepts, but my God, her execution is piss-poor.

❝This is neither a circus nor a carnival. This is what happens when the clock strikes twelve and all of the monsters you thought never existed exposed themselves.❞

I started this book without having read any reviews or really knowing what it was about. And what a wild ride!
Amo Jones has an amazing way of creating incredible characters and stories; and this is not the exception.🤯

From the beginning it was all intriguing and very confusing, but I couldn't stop reading.
Midnight Mayhem was such an amazing, dark, and really disturbing world, but I liked it. I was struck by the concept of a circus in a book and how the story could unfold within it (tbh it was very interesting to read). Not to mention The Kiznitch Brothers, sorry Kingston, but I must admit that Killian was my favorite...👀🔥

I spent practically the entire book without knowing what the hell was going on, until about 70% that I was able to discover everything and I was in shock, seriously IN SHOCK. I wasn't even close to guessing what was going to happen. As much as I always try to figure out the plot twists that her stories will have, I never manage to do so. Seriously, her mind is so great at creating dark romances and mind games that you don't even see them coming. In conclusion, it was a very dark and crazy book, but I know that Amo's books will always be like that and I'm here for it.👌🏻

Welcome to Midnight Mayhem. We are not a circus, we are not a carnival, and the only thing that you should be afraid of losing tonight, is your sanity...

In Peace Lies Havoc, lascivious in deliverance and debauched in nature, is threaded with devious intent and wanton twists, creating an intricate, rich narrative of eroticism and darkness intertwined with an aura of shadowed mysteriousness that will arouse your innate curiosity. Amo Jones will lure you into this wicked, vicious domain of marvellous enchantment and sensuous enticement; a form of decadent madness that will devour you and render you intoxicated.

He’s everything you were instilled to fear as a little girl. He’s your father’s worst nightmare and your mother’s wet dream. He carries himself with confidence and danger. His felonious smirk is one thing, but the way his eyes dismiss you is another.

Kingston Axton embodies my favourite kind of anti-hero—an obsessive fascination encased in intense and inexorable domination; a ruthless manifestation of dark intent, driven by indecent and indelicate domineerance; a transfixion of crude command that will enthrall and enamour you in irreversible ways. Callous indifference and ruthless ambition to terrorise only pulled me in further into this anti-hero's dangerous but irresistible vortex.

What happened between the two of us toward the end was intense, strong enough to weave the strings we both agreed we wouldn’t have.

Countless secrets and shredded weaves of disordered memories showcase an indescribable, fractured past, living and breathing inside the shadows of Dove Hendry’s tattered life. Glimpses into this heroine’s chaotic and desolate life, despite being limited, creates an interesting and haunting background; her difficulties fuelling a hardened determination to flourish and survive. In dance, Dove exudes strength, a beautiful form of self-expression to capture her audience into an inexorable daze.

“I can’t fuckin’ share you, P. Ever. Even when you’re not mine officially, you’re still mine. That’s how it’s always going to be.”

Inflamed passion crackled through the chapters. It burned and flared, the flames that thrived between King and Dove, allowing the connection to blossom into something intense and momentous. I adored the scintillating sexual tension that flowered as it became more heated and undeniable, magnified by an enemies to lovers overtone that made this dark romance an utter addiction and unmatched contender in an overflowing sub-genre.

Eye contact is the language that no one can speak, but chemistry is fluent with; it's the language of fate.

Without doubt, Amo Jones created an enthralling narrative—the stunning setting, painted with bright colour and the descriptive, vibrant illustrations entwined together aided in visualisation. It made In Peace Lies Havoc more evocative than assumed, leaving me with an increased excitement to delve further into this wicked environment.

⭐⭐⭐ 3/5
This was... complicated to say the least, and messy too.
I didn’t find it to be a head fuck but well. Let's go with my favourite, the listing!!
In overall the book idea was good but, the development was... not so great, at least for me.
I rolled my eyes like a hundred of times with this book, A HUNDRED!! That's not a good sign.
Let's start the listing!!
1)Things that I liked:
There are a few, not much but thanks to these I enjoyed a little part of this book.
● I liked the idea of the Romanian folklore, traditions, I have never read a book with a Rominian character and it was interesting getting to know all this new things and new language.
● I loved the FOUR BROTHERS OF KIZNITCH friendship, interactions and their characterisation. All them them were individually interesting and characteristic. I have to confess that Keaton and Kyrin had a really good connection and a very weird sharing relationship, I SHIPPED them from the first second I read all that, (I'm so sad it's impossible now 🥺😂). I had fun reading them, to be honest, one of the few things I liked.
● Hello! Great music selection by Amo Jones, in the dances performed in this book.

2)Things I disliked or hated (this list will be a bit longer...):
○ I really disliked the use of sex as a weapon by everyone, from my POV isn't sex supposed to be enjoyed by both/thirds parties involved?
○ The ROMANCE, sorry but NOPE, I didn’t felt anything at all in there, apart from great sex between the H, Kingston and the h, Persephone, nothing else. Sometimes there was even more chemistry with other characters than with the H.
○At some point reading this book I thought I was rereading the Elite King again, with all the hate-sex between the mc's, the secret sibling parentage, the witches/telekinetic/ hypnosis and more "powers", the powerful secret society... do you see the pattern here?
○ Underdeveloped characters with so much pontential. So little was explained about them in this book, and even less of The FOUR Brothers of Kiznitch, hopefully in the others book, they will develop the other H's more.
○ I think I might be growing too old too soon but too much sex just bores me, out of my mind to say the least, I know this was a sex circus and all but even though I just seemed like everything was a little repetitive, the only change in their "sexual life" was the anal sex scene, which was something new.
But everything & everyone was SEXUAL.

Wow, if you go through the review, just how many times does the sex word appears? God, like a lot of times 😂

Well summarising everything, this book had it's very boring part but also it's funny parts. So it was a so-so reading.
Will I reread this book again? I honestly don't know, maybe or maybe not. We'll see in the future and it also depends on the other books.
If this is your kind of book then go for it!!

Happy reading and hope you love it!! ❤

P.S. This book was really like Circus Britney Spears MV, just like Mareeva said.
