He’s been hidden away for centuries. Now he intends to claim her heart.
Finally, she’s here. He can feel her, she stirs his blood, stirs him into consciousness. His time is in the past, but his mate is in the present and together they will build their future.
Doran can’t remember anything about his past, it’s lost, his memories blocked. But he’s willing to learn to live in this strange new world. He must, because his mate is here, and she is everything to him.
However, glimpses of his forgotten life creep into his mind, leaving him with questions that need answering if he is ever going to rebuild his life. But when Doran returns to the place where he slept for centuries, he regains his memories, but at a terrible cost.
Bear shifter, Fleur, has her career all mapped out. At least she had. However, as events rapidly unfold her world is turned upside down. Not least because she suddenly has a centuries-old dragon shifter as her mate. Can she help Doran find out the truth behind his Ancient Slumber, without losing sight of who she is and what she wants to achieve?
After all, she isn’t some medieval damsel in distress and she certainly doesn’t need Doran to ask her father for her hand in marriage. He has been warned!
Doran does not want to get on the wrong side of her bear who might not be able to breathe fire, but she’s fierce and ready to teach the old dragon some new tricks.
Harmony Raines loves to write romance filled with magic and love. Her men are usually not so alpha, but they know how to treat their fated mates, or alien lovers well.

Just my way of saying thank you for giving my books a try.
I thought this was the end 24 books later but they are short story's so 12 books really at most.but I'm not sure if there is more to come these last few books has been about cal's family (who I forgot about cal's story was books ago )but we returned to this huge family when ronni met her mate then her sister was this book but there is still two siblings left.I was hoping Edith would gift Doren back the land, she can not sale it but there was nothing about giving it? I'm sure he would still have pages her something for the land after but she knows it's his land really.not sure how it ended up in the name of his stepbrothers mate? Was that what she demanded after the betrayal, so was there something written so she could return it to the name of? This storyline had some interesting mystery but we have had the same storyline played out?
I really enjoyed this story of Doran and Fleur…as well as the other dragon stories. This is my third read through off all the stories involving Bear Creek, Bear Bluff, etc. I have two comments. 1- when reading through these stores I thought for sure and looked forward to reading Jax’s story. Throughout Cal’s story, Ronni’s story and now Fleur’s…Jax was featured prominently…yet he’s never mentioned again. Very disappointing. Davey, the other brother was just mentioned. 2-it was mentioned in this story hire many dragons were in the area. It said ‘including Fiona and Harlan there are 4 fully grown dragons. But that’s not the case. Besides Fiona and Harlan, there are Ruby and her mate Magnus, Sapphire, Emelie and Alex. That’s seven full grown dragons.
Doran has been in Ancient Slumber for six hundred yrs, the only thing that can free him is his mate. Fleur is checking on the Woodacre property for her boss, when suddenly she falls in a hole. There, she comes face to face with her mate, a dragon shifter! Together they have to try and retrieve his memories, good or bad. This was an enjoyable read with many happy endings, for more than just Doran and Fleur! Check it out today!
I really wish that I could have read this book when I initially read the rest of the series, but unfortunately, it didn't show up on my "Continue the Series" section on my Kindle until this week, along with several other books from previous series. (It's only several years late!!) Anyway, it was a fantastic story, and a great addition to this terrific series. I would definitely recommend this book, series, and outstanding author.
Hidden Dragon (Return to Bear Creek Book 24) by Harmony Raines. Fleur works at a estate agency and goes to a plot of land that’s up for sale. She is pulled to a section when the earth suddenly gives way under her and she falls into a hole which contains a dragon and her mate.
This series was excellent thank you Harmony. These books are funny, romantic , trials and tribulations Bears wolves cougars lions kittens and most of all Dragons and their treasure oh my! You could not ask for a better writer ✍️ than Harmony. The way book 24 ended seemed like more to come l hope so.
This book could’ve been skipped. I don’t get how everyone, the other dragons included, skipped over the fact that Magnus also woke from the spell without his memories. It’s as though that book never took place even though Magnus clearly exists. Fleur is also a bit of a letdown as a character. I wish we’d get Jax’s story at some point, but it was well past time for this series to end.
This series went a few to many books longer than it should have, this last offering certainly offered nothing to the overall experience. Our heroin was not really a keeper. Our Dragon could have done better.
This series was awesome. I don't want it to end but I know it must. The finding of new sleeping dragons would have been great. Excellent writing and reading.
Loved all 24 of the books. Numerous stories though I found typos I every book. Character s miss named. Sun setting in the East?? I made it a challenge to find the next small error.
Another Dragon shifter who was given the Sleeping potion from over 600 years ago. These 2 mates are definitely matched up perfectly. Clean is going to have his hands full with Fleur. This book ended this series and start a new series tomorrow.
This author is just not for me. This is the 4th book if theirs that I've tried, and I couldn't get past the 20% mark on each one. The plots were intriguing but the writing was just...so boring.
This is an OK shifter romance, with a likable couple -- but it was too short to have as much character development as I like. I knew a little about Fleur, as she was in other stories from this series -- but I would have liked more background on Doran. The couple does fall in instalove, which is typical for shifter romances. There is one sex scene, but it is not really explicit.
I did think that it would have taken Doran a LOT longer than it did to adjust to the way the world changed in the 600+ years he was sleeping. He is a little surprised at them, and doesn't really trust some of the new technology -- but he would have been pretty freaked out by today's world.
One problem I have with all of this author's series is that there is so long between books. Lots of times I have to go back and reread some of the earlier books in a series, simply because it has been so long that I don't remember all the characters. That is frustrating. I know that this author writes lots of books -- but I wish she would concentrate on one series at a time, so that the books could be published closer together.
My rating system is below. 1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it. 2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws. 3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating. 4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one. 5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.
As 600-year-old dragon shifter Doran stirred in his cavern beneath the ground at his mate’s approach he had no clear idea of the world he would be tumbling into – or the dangers from his past that he still must face. Hidden Dragon brings Fleur and Doran together as, perhaps, unlikely mates. One bear shifter, one dragon shifter, one lost in this world, one afraid of losing herself in the world created with her mate. This story gave me pause at several moments while it intrigued and entertained me at others.
There are mysteries swirling around Doran as to how he was put under into the feared deep sleep, and so much more. There is also a present and current danger to him and his mate from an unexpected source. Fleur’s family, friends, and the community of Bear Creek will come to Doran’s aid in discovering his past and solving a new challenge.
While I enjoyed Doran and his quick adaptation to modern times, for once I wasn’t able to easily see past a heroine’s stubbornness or her unnecessary sarcasm. I understood that an ancient dragon who had been asleep for centuries was revealed as her mate and that his ideas of a woman’s part in his life and hers might be different. But seeing what Doran was facing, he certainly didn’t deserve that attitude from his mate – and I’ll admit that it bothered me more than usual. Aside from not being able to really connect with Fleur I enjoyed my time in this world once again, and would not hesitate to recommend this story or any other one from this series.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
Story about a six centuried-old dragon shifter and a bear shifter
Fleur is a bear shifter who is raised to be independent. She goes to evaluate some property and finds herself drawn to another place. The land crumbles inward and she falls among dragons treasure and her mate. She always thought the only dragons where Fiona and her family were the only dragon left.
Dorne woke up to find his mate after 6 centuries asleep, but he doesn't remember anything except his name. So Fleur and brother Jax take him home to their parent's house. They follow every possible clue to find out what happened to him. In doing so, they found out then land is in the Covenant, which meant the land cannot be sold by the heirs for any reason. Will they discovered why Dorne was asleep?
These characters are unique, relatable, and emotional. It is a help with some friends that Dorne recovers his memories. Drama is fast-paced and in enjoyable read. I like the characters of Dorne and Fleur because they are involved with solving their problem wow falling-in-love as mates.
I highly recommend this book because it's is an atypical situation for paranormal romance.
Love the hero, only like the heroine but enjoyed how this all played out overall. Loved Doran and how well he handled one hell of a hard situation. Especially when he gets his memories back. Though a lovely sweet addition to this series, Fleur was just that bit unlikeable at first. Without giving plot points away this was due to Fleur being quite a bit insensitive towards Doran and his situation at times. I felt she just didn’t understand his situation in a sympathetic way. Her having digs at him about once having servants and a couple times the fact he has treasure and makes snide/joking remarks about it. When something major happens that is technical her fault, she is once again insensitive to how upset he must be have been feeling. Not once did she wonder how she would feel if she lost her bear. Apart from Fleur see-sawing in her attitude towards Doran, one minute all united together and the next nitpicking, I enjoyed this book. Poor Mr Prescott, I was so upset for him but what a great ending. I was kindly given a copy by the author but read this in KU. This is my honest review.
I really enjoyed this book. I thought Fleur and Doran were great together. What I didn’t like is how defensive Fleur was when Doran just woke up and the first thing he said to her was your wearing men’s pants and then said that he needs to asks her dad for her hand in marriage. He also mentioned having servants which approximately 600 years ago when Doran went to sleep using the Ancient Slumber potion was acceptable for the wealthy but I’m glad Fleur realised that he needs time to adjust and both of them need time to get to know each other before judging who they are or what they like. I’m glad that with the help from Fleur that Doran found out what happened to him and that his brother of his heart betrayed him all to try and steal his treasure. I thought it was cool that Doran made Fleur’s dad Joe’s dream of owning/working on a farm complete and that him and Joe will go into business together growing vegetables. I love this series and can’t wait for more books from Harmony Raines whether it’s this series or any others from the universe. I’d recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
I absolutely enjoyed reading this shifter romance & it is an excellent addition to the series “Return to Bear Creek” The characters are well-developed & interesting, there are character crossovers from previous books but this book is complete & standalone. The story-line and plot is intriguing, well-thought out and written, it makes the reader wait with great anticipation for the next book in the series. There is: a male dragon (Doran Halberd) wakes up after 600yrs (minus his memories) when he senses his mate is near, a female bear shifter (Fleur) has her life all planned out when she discovers she has a dragon mate, twists & turns, intrigue, drama, mystery, magic, fated mates, confusion, memory loss, a caring family, verbal banter, friendship, discovery, memories, realization, deceit, betrayal, manipulations, devious plans, a villain, confrontations, law enforcement, happiness, love, some steam & a sweet happy ending. I would recommend this shifter romance.
I love visiting Bear Creek. Doran has been sleeping for 600 years. Fleur is walking the land to find something that would make it more interesting to buy. Instead she finds her mate! If you like your shifter romances with a complex character oriented storyline, including twists and turns, as well as a fast pace, a hopeful tone, some steamy scenes and vibrant characters, then this book is for you. I would at least read the Return to Bear Creek books first, but you don't have to. However, if you like to get the whole experience, I would read the box set of Bear Creek and Bear Bluff, then Return to Bear Bluff box set, and then Return to Bear Creek which has some box sets and side series added in, like Silverbacks and Second Chances, and the Second Chance Christmas series. If you have not experienced Harmony Raines, you are in for a treat! Enjoy!
Fleur really fell for Doran considering he was buried and she fell in the hole in order to find him. Talk about an age gap! 600 years is a huge age gap. The one question that remains is since the family could not sell the land is there a provision that allows Doran to reclaim the land? I guess to me that should have been answered. I still kind of want to know what happened to Edric as well. Yeah well Harmony left me with questions. I did enjoy that Mr Preston found his mate as well. One of the best things about the series is visiting and learning about characters from past books. So happy to see Rosemary into the world. I love Jax. He really is a great brother. It was nice to see Fleur decide that maybe a change in her mindset wasn't such a bad thing. Everyone needs to understand that what is best for you as a single person might just change or later at least when you have someone to share a life with. I just love Fleur and Jax's parents.
A great addition to this series….. Fleur has been checking on land prior to its sale, she tells her brother Jax of her suspicions and together they begin to dig to see if her intuition is correct imagine their surprise when they are busy digging and the ground gives way and they discover a man !! Doran buried below ground for many years is astounded when both Fleur and Jax find him, soon he is aware that in fact she is his mate and that then brings about his greatest surprise which is that he’s a dragon shifter. Doran has an awful lot to learn and become used to so that he can fit into this new society and time he has found himself in. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
It was a good read with a entertaining plot however I didn't particularly liked Fleur. For almost half the book she was actually having a attitude problem with Duran, throwing sarcastic comments and remarks just because she was all independence and was not ready for a mate. Nevermind the guy just woke up after 600+ years with no memories of his past, woken up to a scary knew world where there was not one living relative. Doran off course had some old fashioned ideas of women but was more than happy to adjust and support his mate on her Chosen career. It's hard to give a good review when you dislike one of the mayor characters but the overall story was great....I would still recommend it
What an awesome addition to the collection. I can honestly say this has been beautifully written and is captivating from the get go. I love that it has the sleeping beauty vibe (but reversed in gender), it reminds you of the old stories you where read as a child but has modernisation, a shifter twist and plenty of romance to add to the collection. I love the twists and turns of this books and eagerly await the next book from this amazing author.
Awakened after 600 years, Doran finds his mate is a bear shifter, and things have changed beyond his capacity to comprehend. He is eventually able to learn more about the past, who caused the sleep spell, and more. Fleur comes from a loving family of bear shifters but has modern ideas for her life which are turned sideways when she not only finds that her mate is a medieval dragon, but that her beloved boss is despondent because he has been diagnosed with a cancer and has never found his mate. An exceptional story and will be read more than once!
Hidden Dragon (Return to Bear Creek Book 24) By Harmony Raines Fleur boss asked her to take a look at a property for him that he is trying to sell. Wanting to spend time with her brother she asks if he would go with her. But they NEVER get there. This is book 24. Where has the time gone? I've loved this series, to watch all the characters get their true love. Love seeing Fiona and the family again. What would be going through your mind waking up after six hundred years? What changes have been made? Once the skies were filled with dragons, now it's filled with airplanes.
