Sir Charles is the first-ever complete collection of the solicited and unsolicited pronouncements of the undisputed King of Quotes. Barkley sounds off on a variety of subjects, including: who is better--Charles Barkley or Michael Jordan, hero worship, and fans and future of the NBA.
Charles Barkley was a great basketball player and is a great commentator. He is who he is and if you don't like it, he's just fine with that. Reading these quotes was entertaining and in many ways enlightening. I was a fan of Sir Charles then and I still am now.
I've always been a big fan of Charles Barkley. I haven't always agreed with what he has to say but I respect him for having the courage for saying what he believes & he is willing to pay the price for his conviction. This was a wonderful collection of Barkley's quips. I commend Rick Reilly for collecting them & cataloging them for readers.
He has the same problem with Arizona drivers that I do. The left lane is not for the speed limit!!! That's what the right lane is for! If you can't go the speed limit, don't get on the freaking freeway!
Very funny, great compilation of quotes, and love the intro by Rick Reilly.
Rick Reilly is better at print journalism than audio, in my opinion, because he comes off sounding like a jerk in this interview. Sir Charles, on the other hand, is revealed to be a smart, thoughtful and authentic gentleman --- oh yeah, and a fierce competitor. .
Hilarious, arrogant, and boisterous: that's Charles Barkley in a nutshell. This book contains witty quotations from the former-NBA player and sports analyst also known as Sir Charles. It's certainly an enjoyable read for sports enthusiasts and fans of Barkley.
A quick read (or listen) that has a bit too much fluff otherwise I would have rated this a five star book. Charles is open, personable, funny, and has a good idea of who he is and how he is perceived. This was like two friends sitting at a restaurant talking about Charles Barkley.
