A decent continuation of the series. It was enjoyable to read, but a little meh overall. Just how in this story Stig's big adventure to find and save his sister is played as a bit of a joke-- he travels for hours only to arrive back basically where he started and she was never in danger anyway-- there's a sort of emptiness to this story. Though it is presented as an adventure of Stig and Tilde, they actually do relatively little, instead benefiting from the preparations of those who came before; and the greatest adventure in this volume is actually someone else's story that they are told.

Another dissatisfaction for me: I suspect that the "wolf speech" encodes actual words; it should be simple because it appears to be just squiggly letters rotated to varying degrees, but it eluded me. There aren't enough passages to provide a clear starting point, nor enough to make the effort really worth it; and I'm not sure if the words would have been translated anyway, or left in the original French.

An inoffensive but mostly forgettable all afternoon story about a brother and sister trapped on an island. It's probably good for young kids who struggle with reading as most of the story is told visually, and the dialog is easy to read.

The problem is that none of the characters have any semblance of a personality for now than a page when that particular trait moves the plot. That trait is then rendered not on the very next page.

The art is cute but there are so many great all ages books coming out right now that I would struggle thinking of a particular type off kid who would enjoy this specific story.

Good continuation of the first story that builds up on the islands’ lore and gives more background to the few characters.

The cartoonish style is still simplistic, but functional. I wish the characters had more personality as I still have no clue what their characters are like.

The supernatural element of the first book is massively turned down and only discernible in a few panels (goblins?) which makes me wonder why the artist included it in the first place.

Still, a fun read and good borrow from the library. I just wish it was deeper.

I don't really know whether to classify this as middle grade or YA. It's right on the border. There were some odd moments of violence seeming to be glorified, and some situational stuff that seemed a little older. Overall though, an enjoyable read, and I do like the art style. TBH, probably would have made a lot more sense if I'd read the first book.

Decent Hergé homage, in style anyway; the story is much smaller in scope than any of Tintin's adventures. There is however a lot more blood. My daughter is obsessed with the scene where we see Hilde's wolf bite, which is a bit unsettling but whatever. Kids are strange.

Toujours aussi sympa, j'aime le côté "survival" et les difficultés auxquelles les jumeaux doivent faire face. Ça n'est pas facile de se débrouiller seuls quand on est sur une île à priori déserte. J'ai beaucoup apprécié la présence des loups dans cette histoire. Il y a aussi une révélations plutôt intéressante même si sur le coup je me suis dit "Comme par hasard !". Enfin, ça reste divertissant et très sympa à lire !
