Sarah lives in California, in a home that brings her happiness and hay fever. She loves God, loves her family, and loves freshly brewed coffee. She has a husband who cooks, a son who stop animates, a daughter who loves animals, a dog that follows her everywhere, and a turtle who scowls at her condescendingly.

Her mother raised her on Mary Higgins Clark, Diane Mott Davidson, and Remington Steele. Her grandmother shared True Crime stories with her as they plotted how to get away with the perfect murder. It's no surprise that Sarah became an award-winning spinner of suspenseful tales brimming with quirky characters. Mysteries are in her blood. Not that she could survive one of her own stories. She confesses, "I'd be snuffed out by chapter two."

I got the audiobook version of this story.
The narrator is sickeningly sweet.
She reads like she's telling a story to kindergarteners.
One example: Stunned on the front lawn of her grandmother’s house, she hid behind the tractor mailbox as her stepfather launched projectiles at her head.  She hunkered low, scrambling to scavenge her own belongings, as she sobbed on the dry grass.

The narrator's voice and attitude is. Isn't this just too cute to put into words?
Sugarcoating everything so the kiddies listening to her won't be scared!
I couldn't finish it.

Episodic

The idea for the book was good. However it was confusing in the beginning. It began to improve, but it was episodic throughout the story. The plot jumped around between families and series of events, and miscellaneous characters. There was too much telling instead of showing. There has to be a better way to present the story. I finished the book but I was tempted not to.

This is perhaps the most disappointing read I've had this year. And it's even more so since I was looking forward to reading this. There are quite a few things that bothered me. Structurally, the timeline was out of sync. There are things that would happen and then the characters went on as if they hadn't or respond to something that was resolved in a previous chapter. It's almost as if the author edited/revised one chapter but didn't make the necessary changed in the following chapters. Also, it wasn't too realistic. Even for amateur investigators. Most of the time they were ignoring small things -that individually may not have mattered but put them together painted the entire picture. And sometimes that works because eventually the investigator(s) put the small clues together. Not in this case- someone tells the investigator what's happened and that cheapened the reading experience even more. I didn't like the characters -at all. They were judge-y and self absorbed -which is ironic since this is a christian mystery. There is something that I pegged at the beginning of the story but it doesn't even dawn on the character as a possibility until the end of the book. Which is fine-except it's what she does for a living. This is a case of where the book was released out into the world before it was ready. There is potential but this reads as a rough draft to what could be a much better novel. I will not be continuing on with the series, and I kind of would like a refund. :(

I found this book quite confusing with all the characters, but no real break to tell one from the other. Perhaps this book would have read better if each chapter was a character. The characters seemed a bit stereotypical, and the story just dragged on. I WANTED to like this book as I think Christian fiction is needed by society, but this one just was lackluster and confusing.

A young girl goes missing yet only one of the people in her life is prompted to take action. When Ivy disappears, Lydia fears the worst. Can Lydia and her friends locate the teen before something terrible happens?

When I started reading this book, I didn't realise it was set at Christmas. Oh well, that'll teach me to read the blurbs more closely. The story began on a strong note with an event that pulled me in but then slowed as the main characters were introduced - so many that initially, they were hard to keep straight. After a few chapters, the pacing picked up and my interest was piqued again.

I had a hard time with this one. The storyline was good but I had a tough time keeping up because of all the characters that was introduced. There were some parts that made me perk up but not enough to give a better review. And I wasn’t compelled to continue reading the series. Loved the faith content and references.

I abandoned finishing this book. I truly wanted to like it but it has too many characters and jumps between them and their families too frequently, making it difficult to keep the characters straight.

I liked the idea of a Christian cozy mystery, but this proved to be unlike any cozy mystery I’ve read. It is heavy on the Christian part, which isn’t a bad thing. It started out with some humor and became kind of dark.

Missing on Main Street by Sarah Hualde is the first book in the Honey Pot Mysteries series. Ivy Hooper is missing and Lydia Everett is the only person who seems to notice or even care. When no one else seems interested in searching for Ivy, Lydia takes matters into her own hands and begins asking questions. She fears the worst when Ivy’s stepfather denies even he has a stepdaughter and Ivy’s ex-boyfriend is acting shady. She recruits her friends, Kat and Flora, to help. In spite of the crazy holiday schedules and their own family dramas, the three friends hope to find Ivy before it is too late.
Missing on Main Street is categorized as a Christian suspense mystery. While it is heavy on the Christian element, it was lacking in the mystery. The case of the missing Ivy seemed to take a long time before it caught Lydia’s attention and seemed to take a back street to the women’s family issues and dramas. There was way too much going on and it didn’t seem to know what it wanted to be. Was it a mystery or was it a simple Christian fiction novel? It would have worked either way but I think the author was trying to do too much in the first book. Overall, it was a fast read and I am curious about the rest of the series. Although, I am not sure I would recommend it.

Missing on Main Street is available in paperback, eBook, and audiobook.

I saw the ad for this book being about homeschooling moms who get themselves in a little bit of trouble solving mysteries. As a homeschool mom with a bunch of homeschooling mom friends, I thought this book sounded fun. I wasn't disappointed.

I liked that the book was clean, real (homeschool moms really aren't Wonder Women), and not a lot of romance except for the relationship between husband and wife - after life gets messy with kids and over-comfort in marriage. I love that they care for their community and want to reach out to so many. Imagine what would happen in this world if we all did that! It is set during Christmas, so keep that in mind.

Sarah Hualde was a new author to me. I know there are more books in this series and I'll probably get them as well.

I want to move to Honey Pot

When I started the book, I was a little overwhelmed by all the characters and the business of the story. It did not take very long for me to jump right into the buzz around town and get to know the Godly women that pour their hearts out for church and community. If you like to read books that deal with real-life issues that show you how a Christian community comes together, supports, PRAYs for each other, and has faith, God will hear and answer your request! Thank you, Sarah, for writing and sharing these inspirational stories. I can't wait to see what happens in Honey Pot throughout the series!

This was a new author for me and I got this book free on Book Bub. I had a hard time keeping the characters straight at the beginning. There are several and it just seemed confusing. I'm not sure if that was just me or what as I finally got them mostly straight. This story deals with a small town group of 3 friends, their church and a missing teenage girl named Ivy at Christmas time. Although there were some mysteries involved along the way, the outcome seemed fairly predictable.

I have read Sarah Hualde's series about Penny and love it, so I thought I would try this series. I loved it too. Missing on Main Street has more religion in it than the Penny series, but it is so well written that it flows with the plot. The story follows 3 different families and their friendship and how Ivy intersects with their lives. They are all so strong, individually and together. I like how they all faced challenges and they all preserved. I'll be starting the second one right away.

Missing On Main Street

This book is such an inspirational one. Three church ladies reach out and minister to one another and in their small community. Teenage girls are helped and given a life away apart from abuse. One teenager, Ivy, sees God working in her behalf and blessed with a new home with a caring couple. My heart was touched greatly by this novel! Highly recommend this read!!

Travelling down a dark path

At first, keeping all the characters straight was a chore in itself. Nevertheless, delving into the story was worth while. Each woman found her niche and eventually discovered God's purpose for her life. Ivy, a troubled girl soon became the main character in the story. Follow this young girl as she travels down a dark path. The question is - Will she be able to return from it and will anyone accept her? I recommend this story to you.

Disappointing

This book has some good ideas in it, especially about spiritual growth around Christmas time. But it was very confusing in the way it was written, because it would jump from character to character with absolutely no transition. There were also quite a few of errors that should’ve been caught in editing.
Also, I think the title was chosen more for its alliteration, than for its accuracy in relation to the storyline.

Very sweet

I was pretty confused for the first 30% of the book - the characters all come in together in a large crowd. Once I'd worked out who was who, it flowed well. Sweet story, nice ending. The faith element is well held- honoured but not a bunch of preaching disrupting the narrative, which can get annoying.

A good Christmas book!

I found another wonderful Christian author!

It is hard to find true Christian cozy mysteries. Some say they are, but, never mention Christ in the story. I have finally found only my second true Christian cozy mystery series! And, it is such a blessing! I highly recommend this Honey Pot series to all who want a clean, Christ filled cozy mystery series.

Great story

I loved the storyline and the characters. The author needs some help with the proper use of punctuation, though, which kept popping me out of the story. I loved the fact that the only romantic touches were between married couples. Any non-marital sexual interactions were abusive and never described. Well done! And hire a good proofreader next time.

Interesting and realistic

Interesting and realistic for today's world of problems and issues with the church and christian being blind to them and the needs around us. It got a little dry in the middle, but if you hadn't in there thru a few dry chapters, it picks up again thru to the end. Good Christian book with no cliffhanger.

So good!

Love -it can heal wounds
Grace- when given can heal someone of shame and cause love to abound
This book shows examples of those two that God gives us freely all we need to do is come to Him

life minutea

Well I got to chapter eight, nothing much had happened except reading the doldrums of the characters daily moments. So boring. So religious in such a do goody way. All yuk and nonsense. Don’t waste your time.

Good book

It's a good read. There are grammatical errors which makes it a bit challenging to read at times and took me a bit to keep all the characters straight, but it's worth the read.

Blessings revealed

This story is a blessing for the families in the story. Each separate family had God to provide and give thanks to. It was a heart wrenching story of survival in more than one way. The blessings within the story show how a community can rally together.

Nice clean Christian mystery, with quite likeable characters and a nice plot - although everything very much, in my opinion, on the unrealistic side; however, a nice read.
Not too many spelling errors, but the choice of where to put (or not) commas was...interesting.

The small town flavor is here. The Christian is present. The suspense is low key, and the mysteries are tied together.
The characters and situations come off as true to life. I want to get to know them better.
