ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have to start with this one thing: I never read a poem book and I never had the urge to. But Fatima is someone I consider a friend who I only just met a few months ago, yet I feel as if I've known her for years after reading Unsaid. Also, I am a fast reader and this book ended way too fast and I will re-read it just to give it the attention it deserves. (Not that I didn't give it any now, I just loved it so much I couldn't put it down.)

This sweet little book is filled with amazing poems that touched me in a way no other book ever has. Probably because of the fact that I only read fiction. And this book is real. Real words. Real thoughts. I love that about Unsaid.

I loved the writing style and how each poem had its meaning. They told stories. And here are some that got to me personally.

"You lied and lied and lied... thinking you had me fooled. your eyes, your eyes, your eyes... my dear, they told me truths your mouth never could."

"sometimes you need to step aside from them... stop looking for something that isn’t there, stop trying to create feelings that don’t exist.
and walk away."

Fatima Saleem has a great way to express her feelings, which is very hard to do. The honesty I felt reading each word made me smile, sometimes frown, and some made me sad.
I'm at loss for words. I found a new genre I will look into because these author's poems said everything I couldn't put into sentences.

I definitely recommend this book to everyone who went through heartbreak.
Great book. Even greater author.

Oh, and the pictures are incredible as well. Aesthetically pleasing.

I love reading poetry they have a way of motivating my lazy ass and making me feel better all at once, unsaid was the perfect mix of heartbreak, new love, old love, self love and unrequited, it felt like a beautiful tragic song reading it, i cried reading the letter about cheating, the poem 4:38am stuck with me cause it felt like a copy and paste of my thought at 4am in the morning, these poems were beautifully written but my favorite has to be the one about chaos and madness. i cant wait to read more of fatima’s work cause this was straight up gorgeous:

“𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠...
𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐦𝐞, 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐲 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨?”

*chef’s kiss* even the pictures were breathtaking, when i die somone read one of these poems at my funeral as they lower me into the soil.

“to love is to hurt,
lonely hearts are the hardest to break.”~ excerpt from Unsaid, Fatima Saleem

First off, thank you Fatima for this absolute eye opener. I did not expect that I would be reading a teen, self-published book anytime soon, because since when have teens written anything worth reading, right? Wrong.

I had my initial doubts about Unsaid too, because I am not into poetry, but I wanted to give this a try. And I am glad I did. It really captures beautifully (the pictures in the book give a whole different vibe altogether) what the soul craves to say, what you wish you could do but cannot because you fear loss and absence of the ones you think you deserve.

To feel too deeply is to feel blissful pain, and you can actually see the pain, the guilt and the loneliness of the people, whom you consider are ‘good for nothing.’ This book is a great read and is also a book that might help you understand those broken, lonely souls a little better.
We as humans, don’t really focus on acceptance but when it comes to ourselves, we yearn for it. It’s the little things that make you a step closer to accepting the people around you as they are. If this book hasn’t been my 2020 best book read yet, I want to see Vittorio on it then.

And to Fatima, you’re doing an amazing job, don’t lose hope and I look forward to see more books by you in the future. Don’t give up on this dream so soon, it has just begun to flourish. To everyone doubting whether or not to read it, READ IT. You won’t regret it.
(And Fatima, thank you for the unlimited quotes I can now use in my uni essays XD)

“they asked me to come closer but i was bound to chains.
i am too far gone... don’t leave me alone.
just take me home.” ~ excerpt from Unsaid, Fatima Saleem

So, i was given an opportunity to receive an ARC of the book. I had just recently discovered the author and immediately signed up to get the book. As soon as it was sent to me, i was too curious to see what a brilliant and self publishing author have written. Okay, i am not going to bore you with the details and get to the point.

“to the silent survivors,
i can hear your thoughts without
you having to utter them out loud.
you are not alone.”

AHHHHHH THIS ART. JUST WOW WOW. MINDBLOWER. A FREAKING MASTERPIECE!
I have read lots and lots of poetry books, although this was something new to me coming from such a young girl. “Unsaid” was just a raw and emotional read, it was such a rollercoaster. I can’t tell you how hard it hit me, as i myself have been struggling in life so much, it felt like someone is finally reaching out to me, a helping hand. I am wonderstruck. Completely shook.

I must give Fatima a round of applause for having the courage to layout her heart like that and capturing the beauty and feelings so well, she made sure to make the readers feel what she was feeling with just the power of her words. All the anger, the sadness, everything was felt too deeply by me. That was exactly the magic a poet has, to be able to make others feel what you do. Fatima is magic. I am in love with the aesthetic of the book, the way she have created it with the photography and vibes and basically all of it!!!

Its my request to each and every one of you, please give this book a try. I promise you, you won’t regret it. Read it, discover the depth of her words and feelings. You are going to be head over heels. She is going to leave you crying with awe and make you come back for more. Over and over again.

First off I'd like to thank the author for providing me an arc to give my honest opinion.

Unsaid is quite literally as it states: having words, thoughts within you that you never divulge, and instead let accumulate within. Until those words are a burden enough to bring you down. And so I loved the idea of adding a page to unleash those thoughts and use it as a form of catharsis in the midst of the evocative writing which most can relate to and the imagery solely augments that.

Overall, a very grasping, and relatable type of poetry.
