Read it. Read it again, the next day. I go back to it frequently. Seldom has a book and its contents — cover to cover and including the writer's personal commentary — hit me so hard and so beautifully. It was like knowing the notes a split-second before they were played.

I love intimate books, and this one checked all the things it could do right. Its even better if one has read the author before and knows his themes and tastes, but I would recommend the book either way.

Patrick Friesen has been one of my favorite poets for many years. If you ever get a chance to hear him read, do so. This one put him on the map, and deservedly so.
