I learnt Swedish Language way much faster with this book. I only learnt the language intensively within a year at the university, using all the Rivstart books (A1+A2, B1+B2, B2+C1) as the main guide. I graduated from the language programme on-time and ended up having the language skills in the C1 (advanced) level of the European standard. During the last few months of the programme, I was also offered a full-time job within healthcare in Sweden (which is my main background).

But please note, not even half of the students from the programme passed the middle part of the course. More than 50% of the students had to drop out because they didn't pass the exams. This shows that there are many factors that can contribute to one's language learning process.

For me, Rivstart books helped a lot. I think it's because I'm one of those people who can't learn a new language properly without the full understanding of the grammar first. There are other people who can learn the language without having a good understanding of grammar because they learn faster by speaking, so perhaps a language cafe is a better option for these people.

In my case, I never joined any language cafe. I only practised Swedish during the class with my classmates, and also only the night before every oral exam with my Swedish wife. So you should find what works the best for you and stick to it. Don't let anyone else dictate what you should do. You're the one who knows which learning method works the best for you.
