Cloverleah Pack #13

Home is Where the Heart Is

Rate this book
Home is Where the Heart Is... The final book in the Cloverleah Pack series.

All Cloverleah Pack Enforcer Wesley (Wes) wanted the night he went out, was to have a few drinks, maybe find some company, and try and forget his worries and insecurities for few hours. The drinks flowed and he found the company; a gorgeous man with a mysterious scent, who seemed to completely understand the anger, shame, and jealousy Wes was hiding from his pack mates. Unfortunately, Wesley didn't understand how badly he'd been conned until he woke up the next morning alone in a cave.

Fast forward months later and Wes discovered the wards that had held him captive from day one had suddenly disappeared. Not one to dither when a chance to escape presented itself, Wesley set off, sometimes on two feet and sometimes on four... looking for a way out of a barren realm that held nothing but red sand and black rocks.

Cass enjoyed being a demon from a large family. The Underworld was good to him; he had a job, a house, and he didn't lack for company. Unfortunately, his carefree attitude tended to get him into trouble at times and when his brother Myka insisted on him paying back a "favor" he’d incurred through a badly placed bet, Cass had no choice but to agree. It sounded simple enough. Meet with the snobby and reclusive members of the Cloverleah Pack, find out about a missing wolf, and then search for that wolf in the Underworld. Cass figured he could be home in time for his mama's Sunday dinner.

Finding Wes wasn't the problem, but Wesley had stumbled onto a situation of his own he couldn't leave. What was worse, was when Cass was forced to tell Wesley about why no one from his pack had been looking for him before, Wes knew he had no way of ever going back to the life he had. The fact that Cass and Wesley were fated mates was hard to celebrate as Wes tried to cope with the loss of his pack status and the implications of his current situation.

Meanwhile, the men from Cloverleah were coming to terms with some home truths of their own. The thought of having to see Wesley again, and actually apologize for thinking he'd sunk so low as to try and destroy a mating, was too hard for some pack members to face. This in turn causes issues between those who struggled and those who believed in the bonds of a pack. Serious soul searching was needed if the men were ever going to understand that the only powers worth trusting were unconditional love and acceptance.

This book is not a standalone. It is the fifteenth and final book in the series (Thirteen full novels and two compilations of short stories). It is recommended that you have read at least the last three books before reading this one.

This was a bitter sweet ending to an enjoyable entertaining series I've read right from the very beginning! 😍 I've felt so many different emotions while reading each individual pack person's story. I do have some favorite members who were: Luke, Shawn and Dean, and some stories that were full of angst which made me want to pull my hair out 😡 which was Scott and Damien's story and Troy and Anton's. I'm sad it's come to an end but I understand the author has to move on with other wonder stories and I was grateful we got to read Sawyer's story and he finally got his hea too! Who knows maybe we'll get another series with the young alpha Frankie. 😉
Sawyer really kinda got the short end of the stick at first, Cass his mate really had to learn quite a bit on how to treat and respect his new mate. He did fantastic 👍 when he was defending Sawyer to the Cloverleah pack, they were a serious disappointment for me with how they completely turned their backs on Sawyer for something he didn't even do. Then when they thought about having him back it was only to get information out of him. 😥 All Sawyer wanted was for the orphaned kids he found was to find them a good home with his old pack who he knew would take good care of them. That part of the story with Sawyer trying to care for 🍼💩 all the kids by himself was hilarious 😂 especially when Cass started helping too. Over all there was so much happening during this story, the different Gods, demons and back to the pack. There wasn't a dull moment and we got a peek at the end of the book of how the new parents were doing with all the shifter kids. 😂
Thank you Lisa Oliver for writing such an amazing series! 😁

Wow, it was awesome to find out what exactly happened to Wesley. First 30% of the book I felt so emotional, ready to cry at every page. Poor Wesley! Lisa Oliver made me really feel and root for him. I loved how he changed and how he saw himself and Cloverleah pack in the end. Cass the demon and Wesley's mate was not an average demon. Despite his origins there was kindness in him that made him stand out. I liked his mother, she was really funny.

The story was steadily paced, steamy and all the ends were neatly tied. I was sad a bit about how Cloverleah pack really dropped the ball where Wesley was concerned but later very satisfied with how Wesley's situation turned out. The author did good by Wesley. All in all, it was an ending worth waiting for.

I’ve read most of Lisa Oliver’s books and I have to admit I think this is the first time I’ve left a review 😳I think I was just so tunnel visioned on getting to read the next book in this series. And then excited for the upcoming new releases. Well, now that this series is over 😢 I’m going to rectify that.
I loved this series (in case it’s not obvious) and The Gods Made Me Do It spin/off. I think I might’ve read the first book in the spin-off before deciding to do this series first. I remember coming across this series a few times and passing on it(just for a little bit I swear!) due to some of the reviews about editing and vernacular(the adverb “bloody”). After reading my first Lisa Oliver I decided I didn’t really care about some typos or the un-American vernacular because my bottom line with every story is character and plot development and it surpassed all negatives I was seeing in reviews. And any typos were easy to read past and by the end of the series were nonexistent. And as for the vernacular-many of these characters are old old old, old enough that their vernacular fits with when they were born and raised or times they lived through and the fact many have lived all over. America is a baby country, barely toddler, and nobody talks like they did 50 years ago here. Vernacular shmernacular.
After the last book it was hard to picture what was in store for poor Wes. It was easy to spend half of the last book hating on him so the Gollum throws you for a loop. All we know is he’s stuck somewhere in the underworld and the pack is stuck on their own selves. I like that she gave Wes a passel of shifter kids and babies to take care of. I think they were instrumental in beginning the healing process because he just didn’t have time to do much else but keep them going and it made him useful. Eventually he had to address what happened to him head-on and it was a little heartbreaking when he found out he was mostly forgotten. I liked how Cass took on the kids without a second thought even though he really wasn’t a big fan of kids. He was surprisingly sweet and subdued for a demon even though he had his own demon related ego hang-ups. When his friend popped in expecting him to be a shared pet it forced Wes to value himself and accept his half shifter status and say to hell with anyone who decides he’s less than.
Of course we get some page time with the rest of the pack as they are forced to pull their heads out of their asses. Luke has always been my favorite so I was happy for more Luke time. And we get closure on the red wolves. Surprise-they still suck but it looks like they’ll get theirs in time.
Now that this is over, I’m looking forward to the next Gods book and I’m hopeful Paul or someone else they’re tasked with interfering for the Gods will be paired up with one. I’m hoping Zeus is next because he’s had no page time beyond passing mentions. Thank you Lisa O for another great read!!!

Great end to the series

4.25 stars

This was always going to be a hard story due to the events in the previous books, but the end was well worth it.

I loved both Wesley and Cass. I felt for Wesley in the previous books but when we meet him here he really impressed me with his ability to actually take stock and reevaluate his choices and the reasons he was in the predicament that he was. He took responsibility early for the doubts and negative feelings that gave the dark elves the access to him, and his hope that the pack were looking for him was actually harsh to read. I loved him meeting the kids and the way he helped Frankie take care of them. He put them first and made sure they were safe.

I really enjoyed Cass and his rock steady protection of his mate. He stood up for Wes against the pack and I thought his punishment/help to the pack was insightful. I also enjoyed his relationship with his mother. It made for entertaining reading. I actually enjoyed all of the underworld with Hades And Ali making a number of appearances.

In most of the books Kane annoys me, and he tried hard here too, but I loved that Cass shut him down brilliantly a number of times, but to be honest most of the pack annoyed me here and for the first time in this series when it was discussed if Wes would come back to the pack I was hoping he would choose not to.

The pack treated Wes very badly. I can totally understand Marius and Cathair’s reactions, and if it was only them I would have let it go, but they all placed blame on a man they knew was not responsible and I don’t care if it was only their own insecurities that was affecting their votes in Wes rejoining the pack, the guy was innocent of wrong doing, he knew nothing about what went on and yet they pushed him away anyway. The kids showed more loyalty to one if their own than the pack who’d know Wes for longer. Shawn was one who disappointed me the most. He always is the voice of reason and lectures the guys on what is the right thing to do, he actually did it here, going in about the fates being disappointed etc and yet when Cass punished them, Shawn was punished/helped too, so he was more do as I say not as I do kind of guy. I’m glad they had the dream sequence and I’m glad for them that it helped them all in their mating, but I also didn’t accept their newfound forgiveness and acceptance of Wes and was glad he had other options and didn’t need to be at the pack full time. Shawn has it right at the end of the book they broke Wes’ trust in them.

I loved Frankie the mini alpha and was pleased to hear that Wes would be part of his pack when they were older. The kids were all lovely and it was nice to see so many different shifters represented.

The epilogues were ripper. I really enjoyed seeing the guys and how they were dealing with being parents.

Cloverleah was a great series that I enjoy reading again and again and this was a fitting farewell.

Most of the characters of the series acted like giant douchebags in this book, almost out of character 🙄 thankfully Frankie and Cas redeemed the whole thing!

I'm really excited to go check out the next series about the Gods! The amount of trashy shenanigans will be fun as always 😚 (I was right that series is wacky as hell xD)

A great series end

This book gives us a wonderful story for our pack enforcer Wesley who finally gets his mate but what a journey that takes. It is a great adventure and Wesley brings a dozen orphan shifter children of various breeds to the loving men of Cloverleah. There is so much love that the Fates are satisfied that the men have done well with the opportunities and struggles that have come to them. A most heartwarming and satisfying book from Lisa Oliver. So far I have read every book she has for sale on Amazon and will continue to do so.

Perfect

This was the perfect ending for a wonderful series.

It took me a while to get to this book as I knew it was the end.

When I picked it up I couldn't put it down.

Wesley was amazing, he goes through so much in this book and grows, it was amazing to read.
Cass was a little clueless at times and such a good demon overall.

I really enjoyed it and it rounded the story perfectly. This is one I am going to re-read often.

I found reading this story to be bittersweet. I loved Wes. No question. Cass it took me awhile to warm up to. I really hated some of his actions and I thought Wes let him off a bit too easy. I loved all the interactions with the children. They really warmed my heart. I am also sad that the series is over. By the end of the book, I remembered why I really loved this series and I really hope that the author pursues writing a spin-off series about the shifter children after they grow up.

So… this is not a standalone – and how! This is a giant summary of most of the stories, however, I do think a person who stumbled upon this would be mostly fine if they hadn’t read the others (or all the others).

I have to admit that I didn’t care for this much. 

Sorry.

But, the back and forth – he betrayed me – no he didn’t – he doesn’t act like a mate should – show me how – he doesn’t love me – yes he does – got tiring.

I never felt their connection as strongly as some of the other couples and maybe it was because this story was doing way too much for one book.

I think it would have been better had they had their story and then the author publish an epilogue where we can see a summary of the rest of the group at another time.

I was also pretty frustrated by the Cloverleah pack. After all they’d been through and the millions of times they’ve learned this lesson, they still acted like jerks – and I’m not sure I thought that was really fair. I think that Kane especially would have learned from the 5000 times he’s fallen into this trap that maybe he should listen to his mate for once.

So that was pretty frustrating.

While I thought the kids were cute, they were there just enough to be annoying and not long enough for me to find them endearing.

So, as a final “hurrah!”, this was more, a “hmm, welp that’s over”. I LOVED this series and while I didn’t always love each couple, I enjoyed their stories and was glad to have read them. I’m enjoying their turn into audio books and I definitely recommend both the books and the audios to fans of the sub-genre.

I’m definitely going to miss these guys and will visit with them again.

OMG!!! This is the best yet!!

I have no idea how Lisa Oliver does it but each book just keeps getting !it's incredible and has twists that keep you on the edge of your seat. Wesley disappeared months ago but the pack didn't know until after the defeat of the dark elves. When they approach a demon for help, Cas is called upon. Wesley finds his prison wards are no longer there and sets off to.find his way home. Instead, he finds surprises, shocks, then his mate. That's when the emotions really get you. As the book progresses, everyone will have to face fears and truly look within for answers.

This is the best ending off the Cloverleah series possible. Answers are discovered and not and happiness is found for all.

Love,love,love

It's always sad to see the end of a great series. But even harder for a long series with characters you love and have spent years with. Ms. Oliver absolutely did this amazing series conclusion justice, it was even better than expected. For long time readers of this series, this was bitter sweet.... absolutely amazing story and Wes finally got his HEA and oh the littles, but it was sad to see what could almost be called the ending of an era. But if it had to end, then this author absolutely killed it in this epic conclusion. I definitely reccomend this to readers of the series and for those of you that havent read the series, start from the beginning and fall in love just like everyone else has.

Goodbyes are never easy

This was a beautiful goodbye to the Cloverleah pack, but I'm happy that they still will appear in other series.
Wes finally got his story, his fated mate and the happy ending he deserved. And his deamon mate Cass really is perfect for him after all Wes has been through.

I laughed, she'd some tears, enjoyed Cass and Wes together and loved seeing all the new baby pack members. I really hope we get to see more of Frankie and the kids when they grow up.

Now I have to go and re read Lukes book again. That innocent, lovely bear is by far my favourite and stands out among all the others.

Heartbreaking, but hopeful

Wesley has been on what was probably the toughest journey of any of the Cloverleah packmembers. I think that his feelings of inadequacy may have been lessened when he was accepted into the pack, but this book showed that the prevailing prejudices in paranormal culture were still there. After all of their successes, I found it fascinating that the pack had to get a wake-up call because of their inability to separate Wesley from the golem.

Ultimately, I think that the options presented to Wesley and Cass were the best for everyone, and I hope that we will continue to see them do good in their new endeavor.

Home is Where the Heart Is (Cloverleah Pack Series Book 15)

Lisa Oliver is an awesome author who through this series brought so much joy, insight, family vibes, friendship and loyalty to the forefront in each of her stories. I have cried, laughed but also feel saddened that this is the final book of the Cloverleah series. This book packed a knockout punch of five stars. West and Cass story in this final series just could not have been written any differently and the children were an additional bonus. I recommend this book and all works by Lisa Oliver, you will not be disappointed.

Amazing!

A simply wonderful book with some amazing characters and truths to be found. It's a shame that the series has come to an end but there has been a lot that we can take away from it.

Wesley and Castor make a wonderful couple and he was so supportive of Wes who had to deal with so much angst. Hades and Ali were supportive, warm and caring.

I like that Lisa's friend provided a vignette that was warming and rounded off the amazing pack that is Cloverleah.

This will be particularly good on audio.

Wow just wow

I love the Cloverleah pack and am sad to see the last book on their lives and adventures is here. Getting all the books and than getting them as audio to share with
family was awesome. Kane ,Shawn and the rest of the pack have still so much going on with the close shop, the securities service and raising All the littles .It could be fun to watch. The pack has come a very long way in their lives and not without some troubles and struggles along the way , ending on a very great note with all bright
future's. Great job, great series. Very well written

Oh so many feels!!

I cried a few times. Not gonna lie. This was probably my favorite in this series. My heart broke for Wes so many times. I am so happy he got his HEA. I feel like he's gonna be in a flash forward spin off with Frankie eventually. Loved Cass. he got the mate thing right except for one little mess up and honestly, I think if they had had more time together it probably wouldn't have happened.

Great end to a series. Closure, a smile on my face, and open ended enough that you know you'll see them all again. Perfect.

Wonderful!

What a great ending to beloved series. If I had a hat on. I would have taken it off for Wes and Cass. They didn't miss a step with the kids. I loved that even more with Cass. The pack had me just bit upset with them. Yet,Cass found a way to put them in their place. I loved it. Both of the epilogue gave me the feels. I'm going to miss getting new books, from Cloverleah Pack. Rest well.

This was a hard book to read. Not because I wasn't sure that I wouldn't love it but because it is the end of the series. I have loved these guys since book 1 and hate to see it end. As usual Ms. Oliver did a fantastic job. Well written with awesome kick ass characters. I am looking forward to what Ms. Oliver gives us next.

Wesley's story is very different from the rest of the Cloverleah Pack stories. Wesley was lured away at a bar and replaced within the Pack by a copy created to try to pull the Pack apart. The real Wesley was imprisoned alone in the underworld, the pack believing he was still there even if he was jailed with another pack after trying to break a mating bond. When it's clear that Wesley is actually missing, Vassago calls in some favours to get the demon, Castor, to search the underworld for Wesley. Wesley finds his mate when Cass knocks on the door where Wesley is helping care for young shifters who've also been kidnapped. Getting the youngsters to the pack is one thing, getting Wesley back is another after he hears what his doppelganger did. I know this is the end of the series but I wish there was more, especially with children now part of the pack and I would hope for more of a reconciliation for Wesley

This is the last book in the Cloverleah Pack series. This was a very emotional book and the characters will really hit home with some issue. Wesley is living in hell cause of the dark thoughts he had and then to get trap by the dark elves. what happens when you thought your pack was coming to get you and then to be trap in nothing. Cass thought the job and favor he got from his brother would be quick and easy. He is knock on his ass when he meet Wesley and Frankie crew. This was a wonderful story to see a little bit of that all members of the pack are not 100% innocent. love how the Shawn vision finally came in to affect and it was not what the pack mates were thinking it would happen and to be knock on their ass asleep was great. If love paranormal book then you must read this series today

I really liked this book it was the perfect ending to a wonderful series the only thing that I didn’t like was that Ivan and Thomas‘s daughter that they had in the last book wasn’t even mentioned.. we really didn’t get any names of any of the children only a couple.. I guess I just really feel like if you’re going to include children in your stories the children need to be described and flushed out a little bit as well and that didn’t happen.. The only one that was really fleshed out to me and had a personality that I just loved was Frankie.. maybe the author meant to write the children like that I just want it more..

Sorry to See the Series End.

This was the final book in the Cloverleah Pack series. I can see myself re-reading all fifteen books many times. The storyline and characters completely captivated me. The book was all about healing from the aftermath of all the pack had been through and happy endings. I’m very sorry to leave these characters behind but hope to see them in cameos in those books of The Gods Made Me Do It series, that I haven’t read yet. Whether they do so or not these characters will always hold a special corner of my heart. What more can you ask for from a book or series of books than that.

A very strange ending to this huge long ranged series. It felt more like a book that belongs in the middle than a book that belongs at the end. It felt rushed and incomplete. Considering the HUGE ramifications of this book to the entire storyline, I would love to have been introduced to the demon dimension a long time ago. There is so much more depth to these characters than most of the other characters in the entire book series.

Lisa Oliver, I feel like you could have done better; the book felt like you needed this series over.

The author’s writing changed so much from the first book of the series to this one. I’m glad I kept reading despite my annoyance with the first few books. I plan to read at least some of the spin-off The Gods Made Me Do It series although since there’s at least some mpreg I imagine I’ll not last long with it. All in all I’m happy with the way things ended for the most part. I am confused that the author seemed to have forgotten Ivan’s dragon sister Aurora completely. Even the second author that wrote some snippets for the epilogue didn’t mention her. So weird.

One of my favourite series for sure. Whilst I doubt many books are rated by me at 5 stars, the stories are always absorbing and interesting. Its a very consistent and enjoyable offering by Lisa Oliver.

I didn't love the Cloverleah Pack's actions and issues, but it was interesting to see how they all reacted and how Wesley & Cass manage their expectations and emotions. I know I'll be visiting all the books again over time, but I'll now make a start on some of LO's other series :)

Narrated by John York - excellent.

Cloverleah Happily Ever After

Cute story filled with heartache. Love., reunion, and renewal. Lisa may have finished cloverleah but she has teased us with other wonders to come. Must read for the Cloverleah followers. I would read the other books in the series first don't start here first unless you are someone that likes to read endings first. I can't wait to read Lisa's next adventure.
