This is my second book. I really enjoyed writing this book for you dear reader. It challenged me and allowed me to discover more about the writing process, like characters popping out of nowhere.
One of the themes of the book is discovering roots and the importance of knowing where you come from. It is a topic that really interests me as I believe that if we know who we are and where come from we can move forward in our lives. And as with the first book, following your dreams is also important. I know that I'm just at the beginning on my path as an author, but I do want to make a commitment to you that I am learning, growing and improving as a writer and I hope that you enjoy reading this book as much as I enjoyed writing it!

I most certainly did get away this summer, without even leaving my sofa!

The cover is so pretty with its pastel colours, that’s what drew me to want to read it.

This was an easy to read book with a lovely main character. Each chapter had me gripped and I adored my time in Italy, having never been before.

I feel the ending was possibly left open for a second book and even the cook book? I’d love to read the cook book.

It was a very enjoyable read and I received an advanced review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a light-hearted, fabulously written and well thoughtout novel that makes splendid use of details and of rich vibrant descriptions ... we can almost breath in all the sights, sounds and smells of Italy and it's fantastic food!

As we learn about Sophie we immediately identify with her and warm towards her.
When Sophie realizes there is no going back to the way things were, she makes a life changing decision and go back to her family roots, and inevitably, to Italy.
It is here where Sophie grows, where she creates meanigful friendships, where she falls in love and where she ultimately finds her future.

What appealed to me was that Sophie discovered that finding 'home' meant finding love and that family is what matters most.

Debated whether or not to carry on because the writing style was annoying. Lots of mistakes and in places stilted. Also bugged by over description, sometimes a reader has a picture in mind and too much detail can be too much.
I didn't particularly care about the characters and the situation that Sophia found herself in seemed to be pushing the bounds of reality....
All in all a light holiday read.
Would I read another by this author? Not sure!

Sophie is an accountant working for a publishing company in England. She is very focused on her job and her career with hopes of a promotion coming when her boss retires soon. Sophie also has a boyfriend that lives with her. They have been together for 7 years. Everything seems to be going according to plan when one day with no warning she is put on leave from her job and falsely accused of fraud and bullying. The same day her boyfriend left her for a friend of hers. Sophie is devastated and decides to visit her Grandmother in Italy and learn more about her Mother's family. In doing so Sophie learns the value of family and makes some very good friends in the process with romance and a HEA ending the result. What seemed like the end of her life as she knew it was only the beginning of her finding what happiness is really about and conquering new challenges. This book is well written with well developed characters. It is easy to relate to Sophie and feel her pain as well as rejoice in her accomplishments as she moves on with her life.

I enjoyed reading Family Matters. The story is about Sophia, who loves her job, lives with her boyfriend (who's a bum) and is close to her parents. Sophia loses her job, goes home to her parents and travels to Italy to get to know her maternal grandmother. It's an amazing tale filled with lots of action, with some interesting twists and turns. There are wonderful descriptions of the Italian countryside and lifestyle. There's a love interest blooming in Italy and a HEA. I only had one disappointment with the tale - something happened in Italy that sent Sophia's mother to England where she met and married Sophia's father. When Sophia goes to visit her grandmother she brings this matter up but never truly gets an answer and at the end of the book Sophia's parents have come to Italy but once again there's no mention of the subject and I am wondering about it. All in all this was a very good read. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Overall, the book is a light, easy read. It’s the perfect book for a relaxing afternoon or evening under a cozy blanket with a cup of warm tea.

I found some things in common with the main character and some of her thoughts were relatable to me. Although parts of the storyline were a bit "over the top", it was overall a good read for those moments when you just want to unwind.

Wonderful Bit of Women's Fiction
This is a good story about family with its love, support and safety net. This is a clean piece of 'Chick-Lit' that has nothing violent, nothing to cause nightmares and no triggers that I could find. It is a good story that I found to be about values and directing one's life. The author does a great job of painting word pictures so that I felt I was in Italy. I received this ARC book for free from Book Sirens and this is my honest review.

What a touching book with a great family values!!!!

Sophie’s journey throughout this book was one that kept me wondering what would happen next. What choices would she make? In the end, she made the right choices in my opinion.

I enjoyed the story line in the book and a felt like I was there with Sophie.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for fair and honest review.
