Artist Margaret Becker shares her personal story of exhaustion, loneliness, faith, and success in a lighthearted yet thought-provoking story. Through her experiences women will learn how to redefine, reclaim, and rejuvenate their lives.
I picked up this book on a vital getaway and have read it 3 times since! I can really relate to Becker's dry season and quest to redefine her life and get back to basics. I picked this book as my favorite book for 2010 because I got so much out of it. Reading it gave me the assurance that I too would come up for air.
Was always a big fan of Margaret Becker's music in the 80's and 90's and don't know how I missed this book of self-reflection when it was first published. Honest and insightful.
Coming Up for Air was a breath of fresh air. The book covered the personal journey of the author to redefine her hectic and exhausting life.
Maggie B is an acclaimed writer, speaker, and recording artist. Her lifestyle was living from one hotel to the next on tour, not developing satisfying personal relationships, and not having a moment's peace to rejuvenate her soul.
The book is scattered with small bombshells of thought-provoking material. Very relatable as so many of us do not take time to disconnect, reclaim, and rejuvenate in this 24/7 'on' and 'available' lifestyle. If it is time for you to 'Come Up for Air', this quick and easy read may be the catalyst.
I could not connect with this author. I'm not sure if it was just a personality difference but I finished the book without a clue of what she was getting at. very odd. I wanted to, because the topic resonates.
