He was looking for a quick payday. She was looking for forever.
Patrick Cunningham came to Sweet Blooms to cash in his inheritance and try to rebuild his life. He wasn't looking for a relationship and he definitely wasn't looking for love.
Daisy Patterson, daughter of a single mom, had resigned herself to being alone. As the town herbalist and florist, she was valued but was considered eccentric living by herself. When she agrees to a fake relationship to help a stranger she never imagines he might be the one to fill her lonely heart.
Can two independent people learn to trust a stranger and love blindly or will they lose an unconditional love of a lifetime?
This is a short read about two people who agree to fake a relationship to fulfill their wishes but actually start to have real feelings for each other that were'nt supposed to happen. This is a small town romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a good read. Patrick is in town to try to get his inheritance. Things didn't go the way he planned. He ends up staying in town. Daisy is a single woman living outside town. They decide to help each other by pretending to date. Of course by the end they are real couple and get their happy for now ending.
Sweet, clean story. Daisy lives in Sweet Blooms and meets Patrick when he comes to town after inheriting his grandfather's land and house. He is a city boy and just wants to sell the land and leave. But Sweet Blossoms does things very differently from what he is used to. He and Daisy start fake dating as a way to help each other. Patrick's "friend" and partner Damien comes to town and thinks he can just get people to do things his way-basically a total jerk. I loved the way Clarissa dealt with him and his leaving. Nice ending for everyone.
Not a mushy romance at all. It is still in every respect a romance. The couple develop an innocent friendship that develops into something more than more than just friendship. You'll be drawn into the relationship and will cheer on the couple as they grow closer together. No sex, violance or crude language is required to tale this story. Thank you Susan Warner for a well written novel
I didn't understand what was going on all the time. Parts were good, but others were not. Too much detail was left out of the story. Patrick's partner was confusing and didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the story.
Patrick comes to Sweet Blooms because he inherited land from his uncle. He hasn't always made the best decisions in his life and he could really use the money to move on the the next big thing. He runs into Daisy on the courthouse steps - well, he tries to help her carry a big pot, and it ends up broken. They both seem to feel a bit of a spark, but tell themselves that they're just too different. Patrick needs Daisy's help to work his uncle's land, and thinks he can help her feel a bit more accepted in the little town. Them embark on a fake relationship, but it begins to feel real to both of them. His business "associate" comes to town to try to get him moving on the selling of the land, and nearly destroys what Patrick and Daisy have been building. This was a cute story, an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon.

Daisy and Patrick are pretty unique. Daisy was born and raised in Sweet Blooms to a single mom. While folks make their way to her shop, and bring her business, Patrick is the city boy grown up-ish who realizes Daisy might be from Sweet Blooms, but she is not a part of many things there.
Patrick is good at dealing and wheeling- maybe too good. He is fair enough to warn Daisy about getting too close to him.
These two might be working together to get more for each other from and for the community, yet some interventions by others might just keep them apart if they allow it.
A rough and bumpy romantic-ish road that has not yet quite reached a happy end.

In the sixth book of the "Love Happens" Series, Patrick inherits a piece of land from his uncle and just wants to sell it quickly, make some cash and return to the big city. He finds that Sweet Blooms works differently - and the town council decides to let him work on the land for 2 months before he is allowed to sell it - and only if he made an effort. He teams up with his new neighbour, Daisy, who grows herbs on one of his fields. Love blooms but also trouble. If you have already read any of the 'Love Happens" series, you know that the couple has to work through some issues, but the whole town helps them to get to a happy end - and this time there is a rather unusual cupid at work. Dean Hodel has quickly become one of my favorite authors and I'm loving this series. Sweet Gamble is a wonderful love story set in the town of Sweet Blooms. Daisy lives in Sweet Blooms and has decided love must not be in her future and is realizing she may spend her life alone. Patrick is in town just to sell his grandfather's land and get his inheritance. Having to overcome a few obstacles to get his inheritance, he spends time with Daisy and he's getting more than just his inheritance. He may also be getting a new relationship and love and Daisy may just be finding her forever person.

Another great story in the Love Happens series it is well written and held my interest until the end. Daisy Patterson and Patrick Cunningham who has come to Sweet Blooms will have a lot to go through before they get their happy ending. They will have to overcome the jealousy of one man who is Patrick's friend but only wants his way, so will do anything to break them up. I am glad Clarissa was able to get rid of Damien by doing what she did. I want to read the next book in this series. I did not give it more than 3 stars because it was like a soap opera, not very exciting, even boring in places, characters were shallow, and I did not see a HEA for them. The characters presented themselves as something they weren't. The epilogue did not tie up all the loose ends but lead into the next book.

For me this was a sweet story touched with sadness relating to situations, actions and feelings, it showed character development and flowed well. As always this series shows the good and not so good sides of life, and that assumptions about people are not always correct. It's Clarissa's story next...should be an interesting one.

I really enjoy Dream Hodel's books. This one had a lot to like. There is the small town roommate, which is always a favorite theme of mine, plus the fake relationship that quickly becomes more as the two players get to know one another quickly. What starts as an act morphs into something very real.

I find this a hard review to write. I enjoyed the book as much as I was confused by the rules of Sweet Blooms. Dean Hodel created wonderful characters in Daisy, Patrick, Damien and Clarissa. It was good to see the changes in Patrick and Daisy. I am looking forward to reading Clarissa’s story with Bain. I received an advance copy of this book. The opinions given are my own.
Patrick comes to Sweet Blooms because he inherits his uncle's house and land. All he want to do is sell it and get back to where he lives and get his life back on track. Daisy lives in Sweet Blooms and is a florist and a herbalist. Patrick and Daisy end up helping each other to get what they want. I really enjoyed this book
Sweet romance about opposites attracting. The usual obstacles arise, of course. This is a fun, quick read. What I love about author Dean Hodel's writing is that it's always sweet and uplifting. Characters from previous books appear and make the books more realistic

It was cute, but nothing got resolved... well except for the romance between the main characters. As different as they were, they clicked and they chose to continue their relationship.
Another excellent entry in the Sweet Blooms series. Two people from different "worlds" clash then find they have more in common than they thought. Lots of drama on the way to the HEA.
