Glory, Montana #10

Christmas Bride

Rate this book
From an award-winning author with more than one million books sold, a new series of three heartwarming historical romances about the Kinsley family. Note: each book can be read as a stand-alone.

Josh Kinsley’s parents have not heard from him in two years. He’d headed west to escape a broken heart but is now a prisoner in a mine. He plots and plans his escape. But he must act before he is ready to flee his prison when a young woman is brought, kicking and screaming, into his captor’s cabin. Knowing what horror awaits her, he knows he must make an immediate escape and take her with him. He will help her because it’s the right thing, but he has no intention of falling in love again.

Katie Webster is alone in the world. At home, marriageable men are scarce. All she wants is her own home and family, so agrees to be a mail-order bride. Instead, she ends up being a pawn in a gambling game. The future looks very dire. Being grabbed by a man and hurried into the woods seems every bit as risky. She will never again trust a man but going with Josh seems preferable to what awaits her in the cabin.

As Josh and Katie are forced to survive winter in the wilderness, they must learn to trust each other. But will their adventures help them admit their growing feelings or will the danger keep them apart?

Linda Ford

Linda Ford grew up devouring books and making up stories in her head—often late at night when she couldn't sleep. But she hadn't planned to write. Instead, she dreamed of running an orphanage. In a way, that dream came true. She married, had four homemade children, adopted ten and lived (at times, endured) the dream.

Writing first took her to non-fiction human-interest articles for newspapers and eventually a non-fiction book about tuberculosis set in the 1930s and 1940s (Touched By The White Plague). But romance had always been her first love and she turned to writing love stories. She is multi-published in the CBA market.

She lives on a small ranch in Alberta, Canada, where she can see the mountains every day. She and her husband continue to enjoy their children and grandchildren.

Montana/ Winter 1884

This story is about a couple that meet fleeing a slave labor camp. They meet a young person living alone. The three of them try to survive the winter together. Each person has a secret, but the young one's is more surprising. Although, I did figure it out before the reveal. There are other surprises along the way. Most of them are pleasant.

Linda Ford at her best

I enjoyed reading this story. We finally get to meet the missing Kinsley son, Josh, and find out where he has been for so long. Along the way we meet some new characters who will eventually take their place in the family. It was a story full of adventure and overcoming many obstacles to reach an end, but a very good one. And again we are reminded that God is faithful to care for us if we will just trust him, no matter the circumstances.

The best

This is the story we hoped for at the beginning. Josh is finally coming home. He has been held prisoner for the last year, he sees a young woman being held against her will, he decided to get them both out of there. This starts an adventure, they meet Sam and stay with him and find out his secret. Can he get home? Can they make a new life for themselves? This is an excellent book.

Josh and Katie were being held prisoner by a notorious group of men when he helps her escape. They run for their lives through a snowstorm when they stumble upon a teen living alone in a small cabin. Their adventures do not end there. This story has a harrowing beginning with many trials for the main characters but it has a happy ending that kept me reading to find out what was going to happen next. Their faith kept them moving forward.

Christmas Bride

What do you get when you have a missing man being held as a slave and a woman sold to a man that should be in prison? You get a very exciting story of escape, trouble and inspiration with a bit of love and adventure thrown in. Read how Josh, Katie and Sam came to Glory to stay and find Josh's family that he thought he had lost forever!

God does answer prayer

The last book of the series. All are wonderful, family oriented, showing family is more than birth only. Along with family but how prayer can be answered about a member of that family.
If you are wanting a good Christian book series consider Linda Ford's books.

I love it when a story comes together! This was the best so far. I couldn’t put it down. It’s the perfect novel to read on a cold day with a cup of hot apple cider nearby.

Life is rough in the Montana Territory in 1884 when Joshua Kinsley rescues Katie Weber from evil men who have captured her. God works many miracles as they escape through the mountains with very little food or proper clothing for the cold temperatures.
