Royally Unexpected #5

Knocked Up by the Wicked Prince

Rate this book

I’m pregnant.
If anyone finds out who the baby’s father is, my whole life will be torn apart.
The worst part, though?
I think I’m in love with his brother.

I didn’t mean to fall for Prince Dante.
It just happened.

The first day I met him, he walked into my kitchen with nothing but a towel on.
Water glistened over his perfect body, and he stared at me like he wanted to eat me.

How am I supposed to resist that?

It’s the pregnancy hormones...
...right?

Or, maybe it’s the fact that Prince Dante is a perfect gentleman in public, and a perfect bad boy behind closed doors.

He shows up in my life and sweeps me off my feet.
He’s my very own Prince Charming, complete with a dashing smile and a very big sword.

I’m hiding something from him, though.
It’s a secret that could tear us apart.
If he finds out, our budding happily-ever-after will almost certainly end before it begins, and I’m not sure I’m ready to let him go.

As my pregnancy becomes impossible to hide, I have to choose. I can tell Prince Dante the truth, or I can chase the one thing I’m not sure I deserve: real, everlasting love.

Knocked Up by the Wicked Prince is the fifth instalment in the Knocked Up Royals Series.
Please note that this book should be read after Book 4: Knocked Up by the Broken Prince for maximum enjoyment. Both Margot and Ivy get their long-awaited happily-ever afters in this page turner!

Lilian Monroe lives in a luxurious jungle treehouse surrounded by lush greenery, with an army of scantily-clad men with rippling abdominal muscles ready to attend to her every need.

No, wait. That's not true.

Lilian Monroe spends her days dangling her feet into her pool, while a scantily-clad pool boy with rippling abdominal muscles feeds her chocolate-covered strawberries and massages her back.

Okay, okay. You got me. That's not true, either. Let's try again.

Lilian Monroe lives at home with her two children, three dogs, and twelve chickens. Her husband likes to work shirtless in the back yard. His sweaty, gleaming abdominal muscles ripple with every movement and he—

I'm sorry. I have to stop. Fine, I'll admit it. That one isn't true either.

How about this: Lilian Monroe loves thinking about men with rippling abdominal muscles serving her hand and foot, and she wants you to think about them too! She is an avid reader, writer, and lover of all things romance.

She loves everything from bad boys to billionaires. Her books are packed with sizzling-hot heat, action, suspense, and everything from second chances to single dads. She hates cheating and loves a good happily ever after (and rippling abs).

So good

Again, it was another great book in the series. They are so easy to read and I just fly through the pages. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

I was excited to read the next installment, especially with the way the last book ended. However, what I’m greeted with is a lot of Margot complaining and feeling sorry for herself which I was not expecting, nor did I want to sign up for. I grew tired of her games and the way she expected Ivy to never leave her side. The fact that she relied so much on others, especially Ivy, got old. I know she was trying to get better, and as the book progressed she did and became more independent. It was just a long journey to get there and I struggled to read this a bit. It didn’t have as much drama as the last book and there was less exploration of Dante and Margot’s chemistry and physical part of their relationship. It was because Dante had to tread carefully with her because Margot wasn’t yet ready to give herself to him, just bits and pieces. It was almost unfair to Dante because he gave himself to her fully and without fear. It was hard reading about Margot being so closed off while he handed his heart over on a silver platter. He was the first hero who had zero baggage, no bad history or a challenging past. All he had was his fear of being in the public eye because of public humiliation. This was refreshing to see and definitely welcome. I don’t think I’ve read a book yet where this is the case, well maybe except for the penthouse book I read a couple stories ago. I guess that’s what not dating publicly and only focusing on what happens in the castle will do to a person. He is innocent, pure and his heart hasn’t been tainted. It was wonderful to read about. You do get some closure from the drama that happens in the last book but it wasn’t a huge plot of the story, just nuances of it so there wasn’t as much excitement. Had there been just a bit more drama and Margot less of a complainer then this would warrant a 5. I did like how it does go really far into the future and questions eventually get answered. With that being said, this deserves the solid 4 because I did still enjoy the book and the story kept me going.

I loved this book. Ok I’ll admit to loving all of them and I use to think that book three was my favorite one, but this is definitely my new favorite. You can read this as a standalone but honestly you should read book four, Knocked up by the Broken Prince, to get an understanding of what Margot has had to deal with and get her backstory. You do miss a good amount of info on her when you don’t read it. This book is a veritable roller coaster ride of emotions. They were definitely put through the wringer with this one. Margot and Dante’s characters did a lot of growing and evolving throughout the storyline.

Margot meets Dante when he shows up in Farcliff to try to convince his brother Luca to come home. He didn’t come with his family to Farcliff in book four (Luca and Ivy’s story). Dante and Luca’s half-brother Beckett has escaped, and they don’t know where he is but he’s definitely a danger to everyone in the family. Beckett hooked up with Margot in Broken Prince when she was extremely vulnerable and now, she’s pregnant with his baby. Ivy and Luca don’t know about Beckett and Margot and have no idea that Beckett is the father of Margot’s baby.

Dante is the reclusive prince. He doesn’t like being in the limelight and has pretty much avoided it for the majority of his life. He’s perfectly happy to stay in the background and let the other family members deal with the press.

As Margot and Dante grow closer there are outside forces trying to rip them apart. Can they both be strong enough to fight to save their relationship?

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Book 4 of the series ended with revealing Margot’s pregnancy. When Book 5 begins, we are actually going to get learn more about Luca and Ivy as well as Margot’s story.

Prince Dante arrives ultimately to set up security measures to protect Prince Luca from their half brother Prince Beckett (the Wicked Prince) who has been “in the wind” since attempting to kill Luca. It doesn’t take long for Dante to succumb to Margot’s natural allure.

What I liked most about this story was how Margot had to learn the hard way that while her secrets could hurt others, they also affected others and needed to be told so they could make their own life choices. How Dante reacted and dealt with each challenge, especially the last, was what made the story so compelling.

The moments where Dante and Margot we’re apart because of the secrets were often heartbreaking and you might be wise to keep a tissue on hand during the last part of the book. Dante really shines in how he chooses to come to terms with important matters.

I received an advance copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book bugged me, research-wise, and I stopped reading this author shortly after finishing this book. Huntington's Disease was part of a huge and fairly detailed plot line in House, MD, and it's come up in other medical shows, so it isn't this wildly unfamiliar topic for readers. I'm pretty sure, at a younger age, you wouldn't "test positive" for Huntington's, you'd test positive for carrying the gene. So.........she wouldn't actually know if she had Huntington's until she started exhibiting symptoms, or was under the care of a specialist. I don't mind artistic liberties in books, but I'm not a huge fan of taking those liberties with real-life diseases that readers might encounter. It's misinformation of a health topic, and authors should take a modicum of care with the privilege that comes with having a large audience.

I received an arc for an honest review. This is by far my favorite of the series. I loved Margot and Prince Dante together. Prince Dante comes to town to help Luca and Ivy and make sure that his "brother", Prince Beckett doesn't cause any more trouble. Margot and Dante have a chemistry that can't be denied, however, Margot is also hiding a secret that will definitely be trouble if anyone finds out. Dante doesn't like to be the center of attention, he prefers to stay in the background. There are several twists and turns in this book, and I HIGHLY recommend this.

This is an ARC review. All opinions are solely my own.

Knocked Up by the Wicked Prince is a continuation of Knocked Up by the Broken Prince. This is book 5 of Lilian Monroe’s Knocked Up Royals series. These books are escapism fairy tale retellings.

I enjoyed this book more than the previous. I did not like Margot in the previous book either but I had a feeling she would redeem herself. Dante is the prince who wants to not be in the spotlight but will do what his family needs.

I really enjoyed the way Luca and Ivy are wrapped up in this book.

An amazing intriguing royal roller coaster ride romance.  This engaging storyline had me hooked from beginning to end with the conclusion to knocked up by the Broken Prince and its own standalone romance.  It includes mystery, intrigue, suspense, romance, love, passion  unexpected, jealousy,  sabotage and more. The characters are interesting, well developed and have undeniable chemistry.  The sisters will just truly amaze you. Their is acceptance of love and passion in an incredible voluntarily read and reviewed story that really opens you heart.

Huntington’s disease...

My first knowledge of its existence was a book by Lurlene McDaniel - Sixteen and dying, it shows the progression of the disease and still it doesn’t have a cure😭

Anyway, Margot’s story shed more light on this disease and their experience, becos everyone gotta need some love and care - nobody is lonely if you open urself to others’ kindness 😇

And of cos, a snippet here and there about Ivy and Luca gives me flutters😍😍 and Dante is the definition of bf/bodyguard/perfect specimen on earth

Highly Recommended

I am loving the entire Royally Unexpected Series. Each story is a modern re-telling of classic stories with happy endings which are wonderful. Each one has its own darkness if you will that makes the stories and characters relatable and not just another fairytale retelling. I really enjoy that all of the characters are connected in some way from other stories so you get to know many of the characters from different perspectives. Overall an interesting and worthwhile read!

great redemption

This book begins where broken prince left off. We get to see Margot navigate some very tough waters as she takes on a pregnancy, sickness and new love

Dante and Margot fell fast and with that comes its own issues. We watch them commit to each other but Dante falters when faced with the truth of who the father of the baby is. I love how the author doesn’t sugar coat his reaction and we see the raw emotions he is feeling.

I’m a sucker for a grand gesture and Dante made a great one. I’m so excited to see what happened in the next book in the series.

Margot comes back from rehab not really rehabbed but that's because she wasn't a heroin addict to begin with. She's pregnant with a psychopath's baby, she's got a degenerative fatal illness, and she's jealous of her sister. And she's got the hots for Prince Dante, Luca's brother.

Lots of stalkerish suspense with a psycho ex manager and psycho half brother prince.

This is my second book of this series and i think my final verdict is that they're okay. They read like a short ROM movie with montages and everyone. Things move pretty fast and i was slept wanting a little more form the story. I did find Dante and Margot story sweeter than Ivy's but yea...it was okay.

Margot is pregnant and she can't/won't tell anyone who the father is. She is falling for Prince Dante and he is falling for her. The main problem with that is when he finds out that she is pregnant and by whom, he may just leave her. This great, action-packed book is a really good read.

Wicked Prince...

Royally Unexpected book 5. It's a great read. Margot and Dante get a story. They are two sides of the same coin. I didn't think I would love it as much as I did. This book is full of hope, angst, drama and redemption.

3 to 3 and a half stars. I did end up liking the book, but I think I just couldn't connect with Margo. I am kind of surprised since I usually like the angst ... But it took her too long to tell her secrets for me.

I loved Dante and Margot. They seems to understand each other immediately and unlike anyone else. I honestly didn’t know if Dante could redeem himself but he totally did. Worth the read!

intriguing and sad

This is a sad romance carried over from the previous book. I did guess some of the plot with Beckett but was not sure how this was going to be a happy ending. I enjoyed the ending.
