Melissa Storm is a New York Times and multiple USA Today bestselling author of Women’s Fiction, Inspirational Romance, and Cozy Mysteries.

Despite an intense, lifelong desire to tell stories for a living, Melissa was “too pragmatic” to choose English as a major in college. Instead, she obtained her master’s degree in Sociology & Survey Methodology—then went straight back to slinging words a year after graduation anyway.

She loves books so much, in fact, that she married fellow author Falcon Storm. Between the two of them, there are always plenty of imaginative, awe-inspiring stories to share. Melissa and Falcon also run a number of book-related businesses together, including LitRing, Sweet Promise Press, Novel Publicity, Your Author Engine, and the Author Site.

When she's not reading, writing, or child-rearing, Melissa spends time relaxing at her home in the Michigan woods, where she is kept company by a seemingly unending quantity of dogs and two very demanding Maine Coon rescues. She also writes under the names of Molly Fitz and Mila Riggs.

A Sweet Collection of Friends to Lovers Romances contains stories by Melissa Storm, Victoria Pinder, Elissa Strati, Jean C. Gordon, Becky Muth and Joanne Dannon. I enjoyed the six clean romance stories in this collection. Love has a way of finding you even if you are not looking for it. We get six different takes on people who are friends who end up falling in love. I thought the stories were well-written with likeable characters and interesting storylines. The stories are part of series, but they can each be read on their own. This collection is a great way to spend a relaxing afternoon. These six charming stories of life, love, friendship, and happiness will leave you smiling.

Love's Promise
This was a really sweet story. I wanted to love it as much as I did the first one, but it just didn’t move me in the same way. In fact, there were parts of it that left me feeling faintly uncomfortable. Probably because it strikes at some of my own insecurities. Jeffrey is everything that is sweet and lovable. He’s probably my favorite character in the series so far. Even though I can find parallels to so many of her struggles in my own life, I just couldn’t connect all the way with Kristina Rose. That meant that I didn’t connect completely with the story either. It’s well written with some wonderful fun moments, it just wasn’t quite the right book for me.
Taylor's Legendary Heart
I adored Eddie. He’s sweet and charming and just completely loveable. Taylor drove me absolutely batty in this book. I can one hundred percent understand crippling self-doubt. However, Taylor's doubts crippled not only her but the whole blasted story. It got to be to much, too often really, really fast. I thought Eddie deserved better than the Taylor we got to see. The story’s well-written, but it’s very repetitive about how much Taylor fears becoming a carbon copy of her mother – a fear which isn’t ever well explained – and how unworthy she believes she is of the life she’s leading now. My personal feelings on the matter are that this woman needed a therapist more than she needed a significant other, no matter how cute a couple they make.
Love's Odds
This was a quick and super cute read. I loved that the main characters are all past the first blush of youth. I particularly liked the strong connections with the grandparents and the ties to the family histories. Mind you, the interwoven family trees were a little difficult to keep track of at times.
No Time for Apologies
I don’t quite know what to say about this book. There’s lots of angsty family drama and a horrifyingly toxic workplace. And in the middle of all that are Kate and Jon, two former high school acquaintances/nemeses who are suddenly thrust back into close contact with one another. I enjoyed this story. It’s well-written, with complex characters, and plenty of little plot bunnies to chase down. (Or would “plot kittens” be more accurate…?) I’m going to blame it on my mood when I read this, because I didn’t completely connect with the story; I didn’t get sucked into the book. I think there were some wonderful possibilities that had been set up in the family drama that didn’t get taken advantage of. Though, the ending is completely charming, and the feline sisters stole the show.
Healing Hawk
There is a lot going on in this book and it all works together to make one amazing story. There’s a bit of an emotional roller coaster ride going on in the background of it and I know that I won’t be able to read the book that precedes it in the same way now that I know who Nicole is. She is such a fighter. She’s already overcome so many challenges and this book brings her even more. I loved seeing the protective instincts of both Arnold and Chase as they locked onto Nicole and work to keep her happy and safe.
Mommy Loves the IT Guy
I cannot even begin to imagine what it must take to step up and take on the challenges of raising a child who comes from a home that didn’t have their best interests at heart, and to do it solo completely amazes me. I think Abby has the patience of a saint and the courage of a lioness to be a part of Skylah’s life. I don’t have that kind of courage or patience. There were a lot of times when this emotionally wounded child was too much for me to handle, and I considered not continuing with the book. I’m very glad I read to the end because the closing scene is completely adorable, and we see Skylah grow so much even in this fairly quick book. She may not be the main character, but she is definitely the focus of this story.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.

This was a totally enjoyable collection of sweet romances of the friends to lovers genre. All of the books were parts of different series but can be read as standalone stories.
The first story, Love's Promise, is a First Street Church Romance. I felt that the story line was interesting as it involved an plus-sized woman who has made the decision to undergo gastric bypass surgery and it seemed to be a well researched topic that was presented in a thoughtful manner. The decision to undergo this procedure must be extremely difficult and I felt that Kristina's thoughts and self-doubt were real and well presented.
Taylor's Legendary Heart is centered on a member of an all-girls Country Music group (the Lipstick Outlaws - such a cute name!!). Although I'm not a big country music fan I really like the characters in the band as well as Eddie, the big pop star that regrets the fact that he never told Taylor how he felt about her back when they were in school.
Love's Odds is a First Street Church Romance but also book 1 in a series called the Hanson Family Saga. I always love the First Street Church stories but this family, the Hanson family and all of the cousins, really touched me. There were a lot of people to remember and keep straight in the story but I really liked Melissa, the new gal in town (she comes to move in and help out her Grandma so she can continue to live at home) and her outgoing personality.
No Time for Apologies is a No Brides Club book. These are all good stories with interesting characters. I admire their (the No Brides Club members) desire to put their careers first but usually find myself silently urging them to re-evaluate their deepest desires and see that both their careers and their personal life can merge into a viable option . I really liked Jon's desire to let his Grandpa continue to live and run his own life as much as he's physically able to.
Healing Hawk is a Gold Coast Retrievers Book. The pets that these stories revolve around (usually dogs - although this one also had a really clever Parrot that I got a kick out of) are so precious. The books are well written and the characters really connect. I loved where Nicole was coming from - she had quite a bit of baggage to get through and the fact that the story centered around a burn unit patient and the various mental problems that result from a severe burn are deep and intricate. Added to this was that Nicole was a former cover girl model (with a stalker at one point) and a current Fire Department employee trying to make it in a "man's world" job. The mystery surrounding the origin of the fires and the targeting of Nicole added interest to the story line. I'm going to go back and read the earlier book in the series that centered on Kurt and Peyton's story since I really liked those characters, also.
The last story was a Mommy's Little Matchmaker book, Mommy Loves the IT Guy. Abby is an Australian single woman who had become the guardian/new mommy 2 years earlier for Skylah, a young girl who had basically raised herself until she was 8 when Abby went to court to become her permanent caregiver. She'd been homeschooling Skylah back in Melbourne since she was so far behind other kids her age. The come to the United States to help an old friend of Abby start up a new business based on the job that Abby does back in Australia. They are staying with Emma and her parents while they are visiting for a couple of months. Skylah is not ready to share Abby with anyone and has a real dislike for any man who might come between them which, in her way of thinking would basically mean that Skylah would have to go back to live with her birth parents. Skylah is outspoken and spunky and really added a lot to the story, although Abby and Noah, as well as Noah's family, really showed Skylah what having family behind her was like. This might have been my favorite story in the whole collection - Skylah was such a hoot!

Each story has a different situation of a friends-to-lovers scenario. Personally, I think in life there are many situations where than can happens as well! I, myself, had that happen in high school into college! A guy I'd been friends with for years suddenly started dating me my Senior year in high school and then our Freshman year of college. We decided we were better off as friends so we ended things but to this day, 40 years later, we are still friends! However, in these stories, these men and women, were good friends and decided to date, then marry! Each story was a little different so it mixes things up enough for the reader to stay engaged to read the next story! The personalities are very different, as are the situations. I didn't really have a favorite but some I liked more than others. There are stories with kids, some with animals...just a variety! I think a reader will like it!

A Sweet Collection of Friends to Lovers Romance by Melissa Storm, Victoria Pinder, Elissa Strati, Jean C. Gordon, Becky Muth, and Joanne Dannon is a mixture of women who are have successful careers and aren’t looking for love and fight it when it finds them. They have had male friends that have been there for them and some that have left to pursue other interests but come back into each other’s lives when you least expect it. But can friends stay friends when they have had crushes on each other from their past? Will their businesses and careers cause them to ignore their feelings or will love win out? Each story by each author is a fun and light read.

These are wonderful stories that are each part of a series but can be enjoyed as standalone stories. I had already read and reviewed several of these and enjoyed them enough to re-read them. Many marriages would be stronger if the couple had been friends before they married. These were fun to read and I can recommend them.
