Natasha Arden loves music, food, sex, clothes (not necessarily in that order…) and her boss. Unable to tell anyone because he’s married, she pours her heart out in the only way she knows how: a private blog. Her feelings are tested when Jamie is suddenly widowed, and their relationship flips dramatically as he starts to lean on her for support. Once foot-loose and fancy-free, Tasha is now frantically trying to navigate a minefield of moral dilemmas and social taboos. Follow her story as she endeavours to understand grief, love, loss and most importantly: her own choices.
I have been passionate about reading and writing since early childhood. Prize-winning stories in primary school led to hours writing fanfic (long before the phrase was invented) as a teenager, and I wrote my first novel in my twenties. Life got in the way of my dream of becoming a best-selling author, but writing and reading have remained life-long pleasure pastimes.
"New Beginnings" is now available in paperback from my publishers Cranthorpe Millner and from Amazon. If you've read my book, I'd love to know what you think (good, bad, or indifferent) so please share your thoughts in a review here. Read more at my official blog or website Follow me on Facebook
I first read this book on kindle some time ago. I instantly fell in love with Tasha as she starts a very honest blog about her not so perfect life. Most of us has fallen in love, one time or another with someone unattainable. But unfortunate circumstances suddenly makes her dream come true. What starts out as Tasha helping Jamie see through his fog of grief becomes tentative steps to a real and lasting love. It's real. It's messy. Sometimes painful but that is how life is. The author did not make this a fairy tale. Humor offsets this story enough to lift you up and keep you on track.
The first time I read this I wanted more insight in Jamie's character. I believe the author filled in some of the blanks for me to empathize with him more. Ultimately Tasha is the person I related too. She is warm and funny. Heartbreakingly honest as she blogs about her life and her love of Jamie.
I give this author 5* for this book and I am looking forward to reading more about these two people. I have really enjoyed the journey so far and can't wait to read More from Johanna Nield.
Tasha is a typical 30-something woman, who is in love with her boss. Who is married - a well-worn cliche.
Tasha's story is written in a journal format, with entries reminiscent of my teenage self, full of my crush and when he so much as looked at me at school. Whilst I liked the concept of diary entries over the traditional chapters, I did find the writing akin to a 16 year old rather than a 30+ year old woman. At times I did find this a little irritating and grating.
The pace moved well and the 'voice' of Tasha was consistent, but don't think this is a light and fluffy romance, it's darker and full or moral dilemmas as Tasha traverses the scenarios she finds herself in.
This book is full of hope and strength, especially for the character of Jamie, Tasha's boss, who is grieving the loss of his wife.
Really struggled to put this book down! Partly I think because of the way it isn't written in chapters but blog entries - and it just flows and you can't see the harm of just reading a little bit more ... I loved the being in Tasha's head and seeing it all throught her eyes. Loved Jamie, and found all he had to go through horrendous. Maybe at times it may have been nice to see inside his head too. But this was the way the suthor chose to tell the tale and I enjoyed both the story and the way in which it was told :-)
This book was set out in a blog format which allowed for us to get the perspective from the main character Tasha. I liked the format as it is different style to read than I normally do. The issues addressed in the book was good and it dealt with how grief can affect people differently. So, I really enjoyed that.
I really liked the relationship that growed throughout the story and felt that it didn’t feel rushed like some authors do. I liked the little bits of dialog that was shown through the blog style as then it still gave some perspective and interaction from the other characters.
The only thing that stopped me giving 5 stars was the beginning was a bit slow to get me hooked in to it. Also, the ending didn’t leave me shocked or surprised and I like that in a book but that is just my personal preference.
I would recommend this book it is a good book that I enjoyed reading.
NEW BEGINNINGS by Johanna Nield 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂 As part of the @cmpublishers Cranthorpe Millner Publishers Bookstagram tour, I want to thank them for giving me a chance to read this book from @johanna.nield 🌹and have recieved this book for free in exchange for promotion but in no way affects the following impartial and unbiased review. 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂 The story follows around the main character Tasha and it’s written in journal/blog type in which her perspectives were incorporated. I like the format of it as it is somewhat new to the reader’s eyes. The issues in this book were dealt well as it has a great impression on how it had affect differently to people. I enjoyed reading this book and the relationship building and growth throughout the story. It didn’t felt rushed as mostly other authors do, it was kinda of a smooth transition flow of the story. Every bits of dialogue is shown in different perspectives and the interaction from the other characters too. I do find this book with moral dilemmas and in well-handled manner as Tasha come across with situations which she pull off. What stop me from giving it 5 🌟s (as my highest rate) is that the first part of the book had a slow-paced which took me time to get into the book and I kind of expected the ending to be like it was but in a good point. Overall, this book is full of morals, faith, hope and love which is a good main point for this kind of book. I enjoyed it and I hope this review will help others to understand what this book is all about. Rating: 🌟🌟🌟 stars 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂 Also posted on my goodreads account 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂 #NewBeginnings #bookreview #bookstagramtour #cmpublisher #booksofinstagram #bookstagramfeature

246p Tasha's a chatty, flirty 30-something who loves music, food, sex, clothes (not necessarily in that order) and her boss. This is not a romantic comedy, though: she's in love with the wrong man at the wrong time, leading her into a minefield of moral dilemmas and social taboos. You may laugh with her at times, but you may also cry with and for her as she tries to make the best of what life throws her way.
