Two men in the prime of their lives, one talented and feted but alone, one wealthy and successful but cold in the morgue, claim Anna Ames' skills as researcher into family histories. She discovers obsessive possessiveness to the point of madness, estrangements and lies and the deep, deep well-springs of love and connection. But she can't remain impassive as events unfold because she is, she finds, part of the story herself which both excites and terrifies her. In the process she is forced to examine her own scarred heart, but beside her in the challenges she faces are the people she loves, as provocative, wise and unpredictable as they are.
This is the fifth book in the series and has to explain complex relationships, which it does quite well. What the kindle version does not do is formatting, forgivable in the first, second etc. ... but getting annoying in the fifth book.
