It was a quick and enjoyable read. Reading this feels like reading a modern and adult version of Beauty & the Beast. It was simple yet compelling to read. I love how April fell in love with Oliver and oh my gosh the Epilogue. I love it ❤️ a dream come true indeed.

First book I've read in the Cursed Coven series and it was quite enjoyable! Can be finished in less than a day if you're looking for something quick to read.
April meets Oliver as she's taking towels to his room on the top floor of the hotel where she works. April thinks him insanely attractive and also rich since he is on the top floor of the hotel. She wants nothing to do with his type and quickly departs.
Two days later she is at the same room. After hearing a loud noise and groaning she goes into the room to discover a man dressed in a hooded coat. He tries to use his phone but sparks come out of it and he convinces April to make a call for him.
April is drawn into the world of magic by Oliver when she takes him to someone to try to break a curse put on him. A curse that will see him dead in a week unless he passes it to another or falls in love. Oliver convinces April to spend that week with him. During this week, April slowly falls in love with Oliver, even though she's not seen his face. Oliver doesn't believe he loves April, but can't bear the thought of not having her by his side.
Can April break the curse that holds Oliver's life in its grasp?

...maybe you should! Just a l.i.t.t.l.e. stretch of the imagination, and Oliver will take you there. April was not a believer. That changed.
Afflicted by a curse, Oliver asks April to help him. I’m thrilled to see the changes in attitude he soon exhibits. April quickly becomes attached to our ever so wicked warlock. This is a Beauty and the Beast inspired story. April, who works as housekeeping at a hotel, responds to a call from the penthouse suite. She finds a man bundled up in a hooded robe asking for her assistance. He claims he’s a warlock under a curse, warping his appearance, and that he can’t touch electronics, so he needs her to make cell phone calls for him, and drive his car, chauffeuring him around New Orleans as he pays a visit on an old friend who might be able to shed some light on lifting his curse. The old friend tells him that he can either pass the curse that will kill him within 10 days on to someone else, or to break the curse he will need to fall in love, which is quite a feat for Oliver with his playboy lifestyle.
Each book in this series is written by a different author and is a stand-alone. I adored Marina Simcoe’s The Real Thing. The hero was a magician who could do real magic and had plenty of tricks up his sleeve, and the heroine was an adorable fan. So, being that this had a warlock, I was expecting for there to be plenty of magic. And besides the curse, there wasn’t, not really. He managed to make some flowers appear in one scene, but the focus was more on his wealthy lifestyle. I did love the opening couple of scenes of this book with the rags to riches style of the housekeeper having to bus around the mysterious wealthy penthouse occupant who we know is a warlock with presumably plenty of magic at his disposal. I do love Beauty and the Beast retellings, but all Beauty had to do in this was not to look at his appearance. He was a completely nice, kind guy, so she didn’t have to get past a prickly and sometimes violent exterior to understand the man underneath. It never really felt like the two of them really got to know the other outside of skimming the surface and being attracted to each other’s bodies. So, the endearments felt awkward and out of place (not to mention that calling her Baby felt demeaning). And I nearly set the book aside after the scene in the car. It was again awkward and demeaning, gratuitous, and more than a little gross. I did like Oliver. He came off nicely mysterious with the carefree rich-boy attitude, and made sympathetic with his despair and desperation as he races against the clock at first and then resigned to his fate. The story feels like it went downhill when it went back to his house and they just started day to day living. The resolution happens all too easily though without really any hiccups in the way except for one toward the mid-point. And the ending does feel all too modeled on the Disney Beauty and the Beast and we never dealt with the witch who cursed him. She never made any further appearances, making the story feel not resolved, though it did have a conclusion for the two main characters.

This was a very sweet and emotional version of the beauty and the beast. Love this author. Her caracters are always very mature and understnding, you learn to love them.

Fantastic standalone from the Wicked Coven collection/world... penned by Marina Simcoe. This was a short and spicy read, filled to the brim with emotion and feels. The chemistry between our Couple was wonderfully crafted and I loved the ‘old school’ romance/beauty and the beast vibe that ran throughout the story.

Thoroughly enjoyable. Was a fun, quick read that had a little bit of everything. This was the first read from this author and I will definitely be looking for more of her books soon. Would have liked to see it a little longer and a bit more character depth but as this is a novella I can appreciate the information constraints. Enjoyed the dual perspectives however would have like to see the H in first person. Highly recommended. Everyone needs to believe in a little bit of magic!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this short, sweet novella. I was hooked from page one and as the story progressed my interest and desire to read more only grew.
I truly loved April and Oliver. Their love and chemistry was undeniable, like a living, breathing entity. What made me love it even more was the fact that April fell in love with Oliver, not because of his looks, but because of this personality, his compassion and eventually his love.
I really enjoyed this book, it’s definitely a story I see myself coming back to.

A quick read of magic and romance. April works at a hotel. But one man is about to change her day. Oliver is a warlock and hasn’t always been the nicest guy. Using others and getting what he wants has been the norm for him. But one curse will change more than his day. The interaction between the two main characters is sometimes funny, cute, hot and romantic. April is definitely the sweet and nice type. Oliver is the spoiled type who happens to know he is hot and is good with magic. Plenty of laughs and danger.

A new to me author. This is the first book I have read by this author, I can honestly say that if all her books are this hot and addictive, then I’ve just become a massive fan.
Wicked Warlock is the second book to be released in the Midnight Coven’s Cursed Coven series, which consists of thirteen different books, each penned by one of today’s hottest paranormal romance authors. While each story stands on its own with a happily ever after, characters do tend to wander from book to book, and you don’t want to miss a cameo by one of your favorites. You can read the novellas in any order.

Beautiful and worth reading romance story.
I really recommend this story. It’s short and totally worth reading.
It starts and simple girl meeting and mysterious guy and how they relationship evolves from completely strangers to something deeper and powerful.
It’s a beautiful love story with some tear-jerking scenes. There’s more than meets the eye in this wonderful romance. Of course you will find, steamy scenes, hilarious moments and there’s magic, innocence, evil villains, and some ingredients from Cinderella and even Beauty and the Beast fairy tales that make this book precious.
I really recommend this story. It’s short and totally worth reading.

Oliver was dark and mysterious and willing to sacrifice himself for all the right reasons. April was a fighter and a breath of fresh air. She too was willing to risk everything for love. This couple went through so much in a short amount of time and it was made even hotter by mystery and secrets. I really enjoyed reading this book.

I love The Midnight Coven collaborations and this one did not disappoint. It’s the first time this author does a story with them and I loved it so much. It was like she was always here. The story flowed so well and mentioned other characters we have read about in previous stories. I loved Oliver and April and how their love developed with no physical touch until almost at the end. True love!

This was a good entertaining read. I found the characters and their interactions and personalities well developed. I liked that that their was enough backstory on Oliver that I wasnt asking questions about the feud, and it was really well written.

Wicked Warlock by Marina Simcoe is an amazing story that I have loved reading. This is book number two in this amazing series that I have loved reading fro the begining. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about erotic and paranormal romance.

This a relatively short read but so appropriate for the season. April and the oh so sexy Oliver are an odd couple. April falls hard for Oliver and is drawn to him in ways she can't understand. But she wants to believe. He is magic and cursed. Will April be able to break the curse and have an HEA? No spoilers here. I loved this short story and hope there will be more to follow!

A short but sweet story of magic and curses just in time for Halloween. It has a dash of Beauty and the Beast mixed in for good measure with some interesting tie-ins to Ms. Simcoe's Demons series.

I really enjoyed this novella. The drama and the buildup in story were just perfect. Love sex and magic, a perfect combo for this time of year!

This is the second book of the cursed coven series. I love when numerous authors write books for the same series. This is a terrific fun book to read. I enjoyed the characters and the story both.

I absolutely loved this book! It was an awesome Friday evening read. Yes, I read it in one sitting;) Such a sweet love story. My only complaint was that I wish it was longer! I definitely would love reading more of their story.
