Winner of the 2007 Merial Human-Animal Bond Award, Catsong is a collection of stories about all the felines who have wandered into T. J. Banks's life over the years. Meet Zorro, the con artist with the healing paws ... Iris, the caregiving Siamese ... Hawkeye, the office cat ... Solstice, the Abyssinian who taught the author about all kinds of miracles ... and many others. Ultimately, CATSONG is a book about love, loss, and the joy that cats bring into our lives.
I laughed and I cried and I got to know all T.J. Banks's furry family members as if they were mine. I think of them often and miss hearing their stories. T.J. Banks writes as if she is sitting next to you, telling you her stories, and these stories of those mystical creatures we call cats have stayed with me long after I read the last page. If you love cats, if you love animals, if you love reading good writing, I highly recommend this book.
Pick your Poison-Let's go small-book with fewer than 15 pages-Author shares short stories of cats that have come into her life. Nearly all end with the passing of the kitty. sad stories

A great collection of essays for cat lovers! Touching stories of survival and friendship. Some of the essays are overlapping, probably from being written at different points of time or for different audiences.
I enjoyed the sentimentality. It is definitely written for cat people (anyone who has ever bonded with a cat), others may not enjoy as much.
