Royal Rebel
Haldonia Monarchy Book #1
By: Laramie Briscoe

*REVIEW* ☆☆☆☆
Royal Rebel is a fairly straightforward story of the royal romance variety. Tristan is a royal, and marriage is upon him, arranged, of course. Amelia has been raised to be the perfect choice for an arranged royal union. She has lived her life in training to be a queen. Finally, at the culmination of a life's work, Tristan and Amelia meet each other. I'm glad the author stepped a bit out of the trope box. The cocky playboy and wide eyed virgin full of angst routine is grating at this point. Instead, Tristan and Amelia actually connect with fondness and hope for a positive relationship. The story is a light enjoyable read with characters who are easy to love. Tristan understands that marriage is his duty, and he gets lucky with Amelia as his chosen bride. He is dashing and romantic, yet grounded and genuine. Amelia is interesting because she was raised unconventionally. Imagine being trained your entire life to be a suitable candidate for an arranged marriage. I don't love the idea of this, but I understand the why of it. Amelia, fortunately, is not disappointed in Tristan. Going forward, this couple have a chance at lasting happiness. The question is whether or not they will survive the pits and perils of royaldom. Find out in this entertaining, romantic and charming story...but, don't forget Royal Rebel is the first book in a series. I'm awaiting the next installment!

Arranged marriage.
Bit boring.
A lot of sex.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Tiny ex woman drama but nothing really.
No details of past exes.
Ends HFN but with possible story for next book about same couple.

One of the things I liked most about this book is that it’s a sweet, sexy, drama free read. Tristan is the Prince of a small European country. As is the tradition, he is to be crowned King and married six months after his twenty fifth birthday. The only catch, his marriage is prearranged. His future queen, Amelie has grown up knowing she could one day be queen, a role that she has been preparing for with both excitement and trepidation.
When Tristan and Amelie finally meet, they discover that they are compatible on every possible level. The book focuses on their growing relationship in the 6 months period prior to their wedding. I loved watching them fall in love. The book ends exactly one month after the nuptials and ends with a question mark. Book 2 in the series continues their journey. I hadn’t realized that this story would continue into another book and for that reason I’m giving it a four star rating. (I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.)

If you enjoy a royal story, then this one is for you. This is a sweet, romantic story. I adored the transformation of Tristan from playboy, rebellious prince to a mature king. His bride, arranged for him to marry, is perfect for him. Amelia has been groomed for this job and she's such a calm, demure personality but also knows her mind. The storyline is mostly calm with not much drama at least until the end that will leave you with definite questions. It was sweet, romantic, a little bit of steam, and the characters are very lovable.

Tristan and Amelia are brought together to get married due to the traditions of Tristan’s kingdom of Haldonia. I got the sense from the beginning that he didn’t want to get married but was resigned to it because tradition demanded it. Tristan is the rebel in this story, he doesn’t make things easy for his father, however later on in the story, once the truth is revealed about his father’s feelings. It makes sense to me why Tristan is the rebel, and why he masks the pain he feels over his relationship with his father.

Amelia, I have to say from when I first saw her in the story, I wasn’t sure about her, I didn’t really know her that well. However, I liked her because she has an inner strength that shines through. She is a gentle soul as well. She is the best of both worlds, and she loves Tristan. She falls for him and doesn’t allow herself to be used. She is vulnerable around Tristan because she trusts him enough to be able to do that.

These two together are a force to be reckoned with. I find myself feeling protective over these two especially when Tristan confronts his father. I would like to say that was resolved with a bow on it but it wasn’t. It didn’t for me make sense for it to be resolved because life is messy and it needed to be more open ended.

Overall, this book kickstarts the Haldonia series and honestly it is just another series for me to fall in love with. I have loved Laramie for a while and she will always be an automatic one click for me. I can’t recommend her highly enough. Roll on Royal Chaos!

This one was ridiculously sweet from the very beginning.

It kicks off with Tristan turning 25 and having to now face his responsibilities as the next King of Haldonia. This includes meeting and marrying the woman he’s been betrothed to since age 12, Amelia. Everything that follows is pretty much a complete fairytale.

I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop...a secret baby, death threats, or maybe a secret plot to overthrow the king, but none of that happened. This was mainly two strangers learning to love each other and rule a country. Some butterfly inducing moments with a little ow/om stuff that was kind of unnecessary since it didn’t add much DRAMA to the story. If that makes sense.

Overrall, a sweet book but not much happened. I don’t know if I didn’t enjoy it as much because it’s a huge change from my last couple reads

I’ve been in love with Laramie Briscoe’s writing for years, so I of course was super excited for Royal Rebel. But this book is beyond what I imagined. It’s something totally new from her and let me tell you, I did not know how much I needed royalty romance from Laramie until right now! I went from super excited to OMG I NEED MORE OF THESE RIGHT THIS VERY SECOND after reading this.
While Tristan certainly fits his rebel persona to the world when it comes to Amelia it’s full on sweet romance almost immediately. This soon to be king certainly knows how to sweep a woman off her feet with his unique combination of incredible sweetness and scorching hot sexiness. I fell hard and fast for this man. The beauty that is Tristan and Amelia is almost indescribable. Their relationship is all sweet heat and real emotion that just seems to suck you in and keep you captivated from start to finish. When I say I’m desperate for the next book I’m honestly down playing it. I need more of these two like I need air.

4.5-loved it stars!

Royal Rebel by Laramie Briscoe is a story about a royal arranged marriage and I absolutely loved it! Tristan and Amelia always knew they were to be married. He the future King and she the Queen that will stand beside him. When they meet their chemistry is instant and palpable, but could it be enough for a successful marriage with so much pressure? Tristan is coming into his own and though Amelia was raised to be Tristan’s wife, she is also her own person. I loved watching them get to know and open up to each other. But this is the first book is the first book in a new series, so more to come for sure!

Royal Rebel by Laramie Briscoe was sweet, charming and a great start to a new series! I am so excited to see what’s to come!

I have been waiting for Royal Rebel since she first introduced it on Wattpad. When she pulled it from wattpad, I was so disappointed because I couldn’t wait to see where this story went. Tristan is the future king of Haldonia and he is facing an arranged marriage. Amelia has been groomed to become the future Queen and Tristan’s wife. From their first meeting sparks fly and continue to fly between them. I absolutely loved watching their story unfold, grabbing me from the start and never letting go. The secondary characters were amazing and I can’t wait to see what develops between Parker, head of security and Tristans best friend, and Shannon, Amelia’s stylist and friend. Laramie did am great job on character development and the moments between Tristan and his father tugged at my heart. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and see what lies ahead for Tristan and Lia, especially with the cryptic ending we are left with. Overall, this is an amazing start to the Haldonia series!

Tristan and Amelia...such a sweet pairing! I have read so many arranged marriage books that always have a jerk for the hero and an innocent virgin for the bride who is forced to marry. Not this time! Amelia and Tristan have mega chemistry and their marriage is definitely something they both really welcomed, but the story ends on a HFN because...not going to spoil it!
Hot would-be King, beautiful and smart would-be Queen and a whole cast of supporting players...some good and some not so much. I loved this change from the usual bikers and hot cops that this author is known for writing about.

An arranged marriage. Love it or hate it, it is their reality, along with being thrust into the spotlight that comes with the throne. Hold on tight, it's a heck of a ride.
I liked watching Tristan and Amelia not only come in to their own as individuals, but watching how their relationship evolved, how surprised they were when they realized their chemistry was off the charts, and how they didn't even notice how they gravitated toward each other.
As always there are bumps in the road, things that they need to learn about not only each other but the past and how hard that is for them to share after holding it so close to the vest until now.
I'm curious to find out what happens next in Royal Chaos.

Tristan has spent the last twenty-five years being groomed to be King. Amelia has been groomed to marry the future King, if he doesn't choose his own bride.

This is a Royal Romance like no other I've ever read before. Through their easy banter and romantic escapades, Tristan and Amelia reveal their softer sides to each other.

This is another great novel from Laramie Briscoe. With all of the components we've come to love in her books, Royal Rebel is a great read. I can't wait to continue their story in Royal Chaos!

This was a bit different then I’ve read from Laramie Briscoe recently but I adored it and can’t wait to see how the new series unfolds. Tristan is the kingdoms rebel so to speak all the while knowing he has to get married by 25 and if he hasn’t picked a bride the one that has been arranged, Amelia, when they were younger will be his bride and they will be the future King and Queen. Even though there first meeting was awkward, it was also sweet. Amelia and Tristan’s arranger Royal marriage story is a bit different then others and it was perfect so far

I always get excited when Laramie releases another book!! I fell in love with Tristan and Amelia’s story. Arranged marriages are a thing of the past, or are they. Tristan must marry as he takes his reign as king. Will he and Amelia be able to work together or will it crash and burn? I cannot wait for the next book in the series!

An absolutely charming read filled with laughter, love and romance; not to mention that inevitable feeling that something is going to happen to royally screw up the happiness pouring from the pages, because you know that other shoe always tends to drop when you least expect it.

I loved these well written and well defined characters, even the supporting characters were able to sink their claws in me. Specifically two supporting characters who are quite close to the lead characters Tristan and Amelia, and that is his personal security Parker and her personal assistant Shannon. I expect things to get going with these two at some point in time. But it is the story of Tristan and Amelia after all. The boy who will be King grows up into quite the rebel of the rules. Partying, driving fast cars and doing pretty much what he wants. Yet he still has not found the woman he would want to marry and make his queen, so it is decided for him. His arranged marriage will take place and on the night of his 25th birthday, he meets the woman he will be taking as his bride.

She is beautiful, poised and regal in stance, and when she says his name he feels it in his soul, when he touches her hand he feels the sparks flowing in his blood. Spending time with her until the early hours, getting to know a bit about each other leads to a kiss goodnight, one that only fuels his desire for her even further. Maybe this will not be as bad as he feared. Maybe this will work out for both of them she thinks. Time alone is what they get. Time to really get to know one another before they take their vows. But getting to know one another brings with it the realization that they have fallen in love with one another. He is just what she dreamed her future husband would be. She is just what he hoped the woman he married, his Queen would be. She reminds him so much of his deceased mother, the late Queen and hopes with everything that he is that this life will not do to his love what it did to his mother, cost her her life.

I absolutely loved this book and had a hard time putting it down (because life tends to get in the way of your reading). I couldn't want to see what happened next, but I didn't want the book to end either. I can hardly wait to read the next book to see what is lurking in the background waiting to pounce, because you know, something will happen!!

I highly recommend this book, and if you have read any of Laramie Briscoe's work before, you know what you are in for when you pick this book.

When Tristan sees Amelia for the first time and says, “Christ, you’re beautiful, and damn if you don’t look like an innocent.” I thought, holy moly this is going to be good. They have incredible chemistry for two people who had never met before and only knew each other through their family, their marriage having been arranging.

I quickly liked both of the lead characters and could easily relate to them, even though Tristan was going to be a king, his normalcy as a man first shone through. His need and almost thirst for love was understandable too. Amelia’s caring nature quickly captures his heart and theirs is a beautiful romance. The fact they have a physical heat that is extremely intense is a plus too.

I enjoyed this romance but found it a little repetitive at times which slowed the pace and flow of the story, and the reason why I gave it this rating. The relationship buildup I’m assuming is important for the second book, Royal Chaos, even the name suggests it’s going to be interesting. I look forward to seeing where this author goes with this story.

I love this author for her MC and PD genre stories ( I'm still reading her others, LOL) so when I noticed she was writing a story about the royals, I said I gotta read it! And OMG I am so happy I did. Tristan and Amelia right from the start had this chemistry that just couldn't be denied and I loved how Tristan almost immediately changed his ways and began to nurture and protect Amelia. Amelia made Tristan a better man and an even better King. Now I can't wait to see more from this series!!! ~Jen

"I have enjoyed reading snippits of Amelia and Tristan on Laramie Briscoe's Patreon site and was excited to read their story from beginning to it's current end. Tristan and Amelia just make me smile. Arranged or not they are so selfless with each other and together they make each other better. I absolutely cannot wait to read what they accomplish. Tristan is the swoony royal bad boy we all want. Amelia is the strong, sassy woman that Laramie Briscoe is known for creating. Together they will be a force to reckon with as they rule Haldonia with the support of their friends.

What an absolutely delightful book. I love Ms. Briscoe’s writing style, I believe I have read all her books as she is one of my top Go To authors, and I am pleased to say Royal Rebel and the Haldonia Monarchy Series are another huge hit with this reader. Kudo’s Ms Briscoe for taking me to a far-away world where Princesses dreams just might come true - well to an extent that is.

Tristan is a young male who is destined to become King of his small country. But having suffered the tragedy of losing his mother when he was a teen, causing his father becoming distant and hurtful behind closed doors, Tristan has turned into quite the rebel. Custom says he must marry and take over the throne 6 months after his 25th birthday. If he has not found a wife of his choosing, then he is destined to marry the woman that was arranged for him when he was very young. A woman he has never even met.

The story basically starts as Tristan meets his soon to be wife, Amelia, for the first time the night of his 25th birthday. Both are nervous and apprehensive of what’s to come. But one look, one kiss sparks off a flame inside the couple. But can that turn into a love that will last, especially with the added pressures of ruling a country. The storyline follows the couple as they get to know one another at Tristan’s country home (away from the prying eyes of their people). It’s funny, romantic and almost like a fairytale life. Well until it’s time to return to the palace. I won’t give away any spoilers so I’ll just highly recommend grabbing up Royal Rebel. For this reader it was a phenomenal romantic start to what I believe is going to be a wonderful series.

***** 3.5 STARS *****

As much as I adore Laramie Briscoe, I'm not much into the royal romance trope and maybe that's why I'm not as enthralled with this story as the other readers that received the ARC. However, I'm always if not honest in my reviews.

Royal Rebel is one for the sweet romance with pretty much low to little angst fans. It is a story about 2 people falling in love (pretty quickly) and how their relationship grew. Amelia was groomed from young to be the bride of the would-be King, although I find her sweet and amiable, she is no doormat and there were times when she does show her assertiveness. Tristan is our would-be King and he's the Royal Rebel, a bit of a rake (in a good sense, not a manwhore). Eventhough Tristan always seem to be pushing boundaries he knew that it is his duty as the future King to accept the arrange marriage. I like that Tristan has a vision for his country, he seemed to want to be a really good King for his subjects.

This is a HFN as the ending leave us with a bit of a mystery. Don't worry no major cliffhanger whatsoever. If you're into sweet romance with very hot sexy scenes, this book is right up your alley. That limo scene ... oh my ...

Royal Rebel by Laramie Briscoe is the 1st book in The Haldonia Monarchy series. This begins the royal story of Amelia and Tristan.
I have to say, I wasn't sure if I was going to connect with the story because I'm so used to her Moonshine Taskforce series and her Heaven Hill series...so when I heard she wrote a royal romance...I was unsure but I jumped in & read it and boy, am I glad that I did!!!! Tristan and Amelia are fantastic together. Their chemistry literally pulses through the words and sparks off the pages. They have an arranged marriage which is a throwback to old days when that was common; everything else is modern so there's a twist to their relationship/marriage. There's so much more to them, their relationship that goes on...to this King and Queen which ends up in a cliffhanger. I enjoyed reading their story which featured the chemistry, passion, feels and steam. I can't wait for Royal Chaos book #2 which continues their story.

I have been a fan and a reader of Ms. Briscoe's for a number of years with her MC series as well as all of the other books that she has written and this book ranks with all of the others. This book is different from her other series with the this royal read and I enjoyed it from the start. Tristan was definitely the bad boy prince with a rebellious streak while Amelia was more reserved. Together, the pair have amazing chemistry as they learn to love each other with their arranged marriage.
Their story moved along well and had me hooked from the start once I re-familiarized myself to it from what I read of it when it was on Wattpad. I enjoyed it from the start and would recommend to to others as I await to see what happens next in this series.

This is an excellent story if you like your books essentially free of strife, and enjoy a royal aspect.
Amelia & Tristan are due to be wed, in a classic arranged marriage type agreement. The difference for this couple is that they hit it off, pretty much immediately.
Amelia has been raised, knowing that someday she would marry and be the queen Tristan needed, and because of that, she’s been groomed to be a perfect one.
Tristan has lived as a playboy, but in here, we see his growth into the King his people need, with the right queen by his side.

This was an easy, enjoyable read, although I was unaware of the cliffhanger at the end.

While future king Tristen may be at the required age for marriage, he still has a bit of wild side and some unresolved feelings from his mothers death. Whether he is ready or not, he now has a bride. Only, she was chosen for him by someone else. But once he meets Amelia he wonders if this woman might truly be the best thing he never knew he wanted. Is possible for an arranged marriage to be more than a business transaction? Amelia and Tristen recognize they have chemistry, and they both want this to work. But, it's never that simple. This book has a gorgeous cover! Royal Rebel is the first book in a new series from Laramie Briscoe.
