Thorne Witches #8

Essential Magic

Rate this book
A deadly object...

As a procurer of magical artifacts, Nash Thorne has his sights set on an exquisite ruby necklace believed to have been cursed by a Goddess. This particular piece of jewelry is rumored to bring disaster to its wearer and turn one’s heart to evil.

A dangerous task...

Nash’s assistant, Ryanne Caldwell, has certainly witnessed some shady business dealings. But when her boss confesses he’s from a powerful magical family and needs her help to pull off a jewel heist, she flatly refuses—until she discovers her sister is smack in the middle of two feuding factions.

A love worth sacrificing for...

Now, Nash and Ryanne must recover the hexed necklace and extract her sister from the clutches of the Thorne witches’ greatest enemy. However, once the dark magic of the Red Scorpion is unleashed, only an act of selfless love can save them.

Essential Magic, previously released in the collaboration Kiss of the Red Scorpion, has been revised to contain additional chapters and an alternate ending.

T.M. Cromer

T.M. Cromer is a multi-award-winning sorceress of the written word and fearless architect of high-stakes paranormal romance. With a flair for twisty plots, slow burns, and swaggering heroes hot enough to scorch the page, she conjures stories that hook readers and refuse to let go. From her cozy PNW lair, flanked by two Hellhounds and an unholy amount of caffeine ambition, she weaves love, danger, and humor into every page. Whether it’s witches, sirens, or magical assassins, her characters never behave, and neither do her stories.

When she’s not dreaming up new ways to ruin her characters’ lives before crafting their HEA, she’s daydreaming about swimming with orcas or cackling over a particularly clever line of dialogue. Come for the magic, stay for the heartbreak, and maybe fall a little too hard for a man who only exists on the page.

T.M.’s stories are 100% certified organic, author-created content. No artificial intelligence was used in the writing of her books.

Love, love, love the new addition to the Thorne Witch world! So happy to see Nash get his story. Really excited to see new characters as well as the older ones. Love to see the absolute loyalty and love between the family members. Even when fighting they are loyal to each other. Can't wait to see what's next!

Love it

As always the Thorne family just doesn't disappoint. This installment, while focused on one family member, brings them all together again to fight their enemies. Excited to read about the next adventure.

Nash and Ryanne!!!
I had to keep reminding myself Nash is male lol especially when I wanted to smack him upside his head… lol
Nash is a magical adorable nerd and Ryanne is beyond smitten even though she feels invisible more often than not and frustrated the rest of the time.

Nash and Ryanne

Ryanne is the assistant to Nash Thorne. They both have pretty much loved each other for two years but never made a move. They end up admitted to each other their feelings, but of course there is always Danger.

I cried about Rylee but was glad to see her finally do something for her sister.

Thorne Witches

Another fun, quick read. However, it still feels like your basic romance with a supernatural twist. Perfect for when you want some fluff reading.

I felt this one didn’t give Nash enough exposure. I seriously wanted to learn more about him. It seemed rushed through no childhood memories at all.

I have been wanting to read Nash's story since he was first introduced. I think my favorite part about him is that he calls his father, sperm donor. He and Alastair don't have the best father-son relationship. There are times that I laughed out loud at some of their conversations.

I've enjoyed this series. I have been listening to the audiobooks. I really like the narrator.

Ryanne wakes up one morning and just wants a day off from work. A day off from lusting hopelessly for Nash – who made it clear there would be no romance. What she ends up with is learning about her past and a whole new world of witches and danger. She also finds and reconnects with her sister Rylee. The villain Victor makes several appearances to stir things up. Looking forward to the twists and turns of the next book.

Nash comes from a gifted magical family and must find a necklace that is spelled. His assistant, Ryanne, works to help him and rescue her sister from a dark force. Nash has worked along side Ryanne for a long time and has never given into the attraction. Romance, adventure and family are abundant!

This is a great installment in the Thorne Witches series. Nash certainly met his match in Ryanne. Of course, T.M. Cromer makes them earn their HEA through pain and heartache. This book is also about Nash's developing relationship with his family. He is beginning to see his place in the larger Thorne family and accept their care for him. I love this series and cannot wait to read the next book!

Another slam dunk by T.M. Cromer! Essential Magic is a phenomenal paranormal romance. This book is well-written and stuffed with a stellar cast of characters. Ryanne is Nash Thorne's assistant. For Nash, Ryanne is it, Thorne's only love once and she's it for him. Nash and Ryanne's story is packed with drama, humor, smokin' hot sex, action and suspense. I loved reading Nash and Ryanne's story and can't wait for my next book by T.M. Cromer. Essential Magic is book 8 of The Thorne Witches Series but can be read as a standalone. I suggest reading them all though, so you don't miss out on all the excitement. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Fantastic!

I loved this installment of The Thorne Witches! This entire family has captured my heart. Nash Thorne sounds exactly like the perfect man. Ryanne is one lucky woman! The cussing quirk is the funniest thing I have ever encountered in my reading. I would recommend these books 100%!

Two different people from different worlds work together in finding a magic necklace. However, with each turn of the page we find out that these two different people are one in the same and now, they are on a quest to choose between the necklace or their own sanity.

This edition of the Thorne Witches is an adult read that one has to choose between a material object or love. T.M. Cromer describes the two main characters in a way that not only does her readers see the attraction they have for each other, but feels the attraction that binds the one with the other. The reader see's the strong connection between the Thorne family in how they are put together to save a life once again. Their family's magic is strong with each flip of the page. This is a must read for those who love the Thorne Witches series and adventure. But, it is a tear jerker in the sense so keep a box of tissues by your side, just in case! 😊

Phenomenal addition to the series

Absolutely loved Nash and Ryanne’s story.
Nash has known Ryanne is the one for him since she interviewed to be his secretary.
Ryanne has wanted Nash for a long time but his attitude has made her keep her feelings on a tight leash.
Nash can’t hold back anymore.
Ryanne gives in.
She’s now discovering things she thought were only real in stories.
Ryanne has an identical twin who is not on the good side. Trouble is coming.
Essential Magic had me on the edge throughout the story. Loved it.

Yet again, another great installment in the Thorne Witches series. It has all the magical ingredients to draw in the reader.

Nash and Ryanne have danced around each other for two years and when a mission requires her assistance, she is faced with new revelations about herself. Will she embrace these new developments?

The Thornes once again rally round each other to assist whenever required. Their love and loyalty are admirable. The humour is always there, no matter the situation. It's well paced and well portrayed. Nash and Ryanne have a dangerous journey which ends in happiness.

Each book gets better and better and I don't know how....because the last 7 books were amazing and brilliant.
I can't say this enough but if you like paranormal books primarily witches you will love this series. You have the Thorne witches but throw in some Godesses & God's you have quite the story...

Couldn't put it down!

I only recently discovered the Thorn Witch series. The strong characters and engaging storylines that Cromer develops draw me in. The further I get into the series, the more developed her characters become. I only found one issue w book 8... the main female character in this book seems to develop her skills quite faster than I would have expected. Maybe I lost track of the timeline at some point. Still, I can't wait to start reading book 9. 😀

Excellent Book

Nash is one of my favorite characters. I feel bad that he has some animosity towards his father, Alistair. Children, even grown children, cannot always fully understand the trials and heartaches of their parents. So I was so happy Nash got his own story, and a woman who is a very good person. But their budding relationship is not without a lot of strife, and an old enemy of Alistair. Great book.

Awesome!!!

Essential Magic was an excellent read. This story is about Nash Thorne and Ryanne Caldwell. With one call-in to work Ryanne's world turns upside down. I enjoy this series and learning about each new character. They are all so different and have their own unique story to tell. Wonderful storyline!!!
