“‘Once upon a times’ are flawed from the start.” –Jack Beal

A deafening explosion. A shining metal disc crashed into a cornfield. A mysterious little girl with a cryptic mission. Longing to be like the heroes in his storybooks, Robbie Flynn embarks on a quest he hopes will lead him to his missing father.

If you love puzzles, riddles and historical events that helped shape history then this novel is for you for. Beal’s writing is phenomenal and beautiful. In the middle of the book it does become disjointed but PLEASE CONTIUNE to read on because it all becomes clear at the end. It is imaginative, thought-provoking on different levels of inwardness introspection and outwardness, and it’s caring. I want to talk more about it but it will give it away. Great for higher-level high school students and college students to ponder on and create discussions about.

The fantastic life of Robbie Flynn and the Flynn family.

It speaks volumes of the myths of our own modern culture. Sometimes we carry on the wrong traditions of what we think is progress but actually brings us backward.

My only con to this is that it is a specific type of book that you must enjoy - is not linear, it is a mind searching riddle. It is like a tease and a tickle for your brain. If you love an artful informative narrative and thought-provoking reading, this is for you.

What I love the most about it is that it made me what to take action not only regarding my own life but for everyone around us. Beal is a Brilliant author!!!

I wasn't quite sure what to expect going in but what I found was an excellent story. Not a ton I can say without entering spoiler territory but I very much enjoyed the plot, pacing, and especially the overall message of the book. Definitely fun and engaging, as is shown by the fact that I read it in a single go.

I liked the storyline, but it flipped so often that I lost track and lost interest.

Too confusing. For a complex plot, the author did too little explaining. At least a few of the scientific details were wrong, which made me question the others.

Just too much

The premise started out interesting enough, but just kept getting more disjointed and disconnected. The more it got into talking about the void, I couldn't make any sense out of it. I got just past half-way and gave up.
