The Ultimate Marine Adventure!
Stephen Cord’s third book is on the shelves, with the action set in Pattaya. Action with a capital A with somewhat of a different twist at the end.
They say third times a charm and that's certainly the case for the 'Brannan series'. This is the best 'Brannan' adventure of the lot. A tale that storms along at a breakneck pace, mixing mature characterisation with a darker tone. Joe Brannan's wobbly moral compass lends real depth to what is, after all, escapist pulp fiction. There's a spontaneity to Cord's writing. He is not cautious and that lends a wonderful spirit to the book. It works.
Brannan the Movie has breath taking set-pieces and great characters. Tough and furiously paced it is gripping from the first page to the last. Sheer energy carries the story through all its twists and turns to its climactic finale. There's no doubt about it. Joe Brannan may not be a regular hero but he's the guy you want on your side.
