Lois Reeves was in deep trouble. With her mission compromised, she had to endure Alain (Adie) Dumortier’s special brand of ministrations. Adding to her dilemma was James Leveritt who had his own agenda. Her heart desired both of them but her mind must decide if either of them worth the risks.



What is it about bad men that made them irresistible? James has his own appeal but there’s just something about Adie that drew me to him, especially with his back story. Lois was her feisty but reckless self as usual.

This time, when his hands began moving in their figure-of-eight format, there was a whole lot more squirming and moaning going on. The crowd were lapping it up like greedy animals, and I could see a lot of wandering hands sinking between outspread legs.

The first half of the book was a little too slow for me. I like all the torturing scenes but felt repetitive at times. The second half was a lot more exciting with all the actions and revelations. My favorite scenes were, of course, the kinky fuckery kind, especially the St. Andrew’s cross part that I not so secretly wish for it to proceed to the next level lol!

These two men had me so revved up that functioning on any kind of level seemed almost impossible.

Flames follows the exploits of three people working towards their end goals. With the new things learned about the characters, I’m looking forward to seeing where the story will go.

The ante has been upped in this installment of the series. This book picks right back up where book 2 left off, with Lois in serious trouble. There are some graphic scenes depicting violence, but fortunately the knife torture doesn't last too long before the author throws in a major twist and the plot takes off.

Lots of action in this book, and here is where I felt Lois really proved herself to be a strong, badass heroine. I will say I thought she recovered from her wounds a bit quickly, but I was able to suspend disbelief and just roll with the story. I also appreciated how more depth was given to Adie & James. The reader gets a small glimpse of their backstories & their POVs as well. A few questions about them were answered.

This is turning out to be a fun love triangle, that reminds me of the Eric/Sookie/Bill love triangle from True Blood. I really like the dynamic between all three of these characters. When watching the show it was fun seeing all three of them occasionally work together for some reason, but also compete for Sookie. That same kind of vibe is here. Except Lois & James are way more likable than Sookie & Bill. Adie is suppose to be a tall, dark, and handsome type (I think he might be Spanish?) but I can't help but imagine him as Alexander Skarsgard when reading. His willingness to commit violence/slightly insane vibe plus sense of humour reminds me a lot of Alexander Skarsgard.

These cliffhangers are serious cliffhangers. I just want to write a really fast review so I can move on to reading the next book, lol. Fortunately this series is complete :)

Her next job requires her to go undercover as a submissive slave in a very illegal and dangerous club filled with utter sick and cruel sociopathic cunts.

Five minutes with these guys as well as a pair of tweezers and a cheese grater...that’s all I’m asking!
Anyway, she needs to become a convincing sub who has at least 1 year of submissive training in order to get the highest bids in the illegal auction and then be shipped off to Carte Blanche (the slave club thingy) to find and assassinate the leader, Alain Dumortier.

So she goes to this company that specialises in training people in the BDSM lifestyle and that’s where she meets James.

Oh, and he also happened to be a psychopath. Good combination, right? Out of all the men and women I'd been contracted to kill in the past, none had ever been so deserving of death as Dumortier.

SEX SCENES
Okay, if you’ve read any of my reviews, you know I like to pick my favourite sex scenes and post a wee excerpt.
But this series - every single book in this series - was packed FULL of the darkest, kinkiest and hottest sex!
I know it’s a lot to read but I’ve picked out two scenes that I kinda pulled a muscle reading…

Scene 1

“What do you think, Alain? Can we make her beg?” “Never had a problem making a woman beg before, and I don’t think tonight will be the exception.” Somehow, I had the awful feeling they were right. “Think she can take the two of us at once?” James asked. “Does she have a choice?” Adie raised his eyebrows. "No." James angled himself so he could slide his cock along my lips. Oh fuck. This was really happening. I let out an involuntary moan. "Okay, here's how it works, Alain. No cock goes inside my little whore until she begs for it first. Let's see how long the bitch lasts." Oh, God. Adie took James at his word, of course. With his cock pressed up tight against my entrance, he buried his fingers in my ass and pussy and began thrusting away happily. The index finger on his other hand began to torment my already over-sensitised clit. Meanwhile, James ran his cock backwards and forwards along my lips, slowly pumping himself with his hand. Although this series was chock-a-block with intensely sexy scenes and had no shortage of tongue in cheek humour, it also got extremely dark and fucked up. Which, of course, I loved!
I actually learned a lot while reading this series! Hahaha!
Absolutely loved it and will be adding all of C.P. Mandara’s books to my TBR mountain.

OMG OMG OMG HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME HANGING LIKE THAT!!!

I both love and hate Ms Mandara for this book (and series). She's like a cat toying with a mouse, but in this case it's her writing toying with my mind!!!! Half the time I'm a little confused about what's happening. Not in a bad 'this author can't write' way but in the good 'Oh my word I think my mind's been blown' way. Reading Flames is like stepping onto the wildest of roller coaster rides - if you're British think 'Smiler' only twice as fast and four times as crazy.



We get more answers but these are immediately replaced with more questions. We get some shocking revelations but they themselves lead to more unknowns. This book is less dark, more erotic than book 2, though it ends on a real nasty (in all ways) cliffhanger. I was totally mesmerised by this instalment and am pleased that book #4 has just release - though I'm already worried that I'll be left on another nail biting cliffie because it's only just live.

This is the book where we continue to fall more and more in love with Lois. God I either want to be her or sleep with her, even though I'm straight and have been happily married for almost 25 years! We eventually get James and Adie POV chapters, and what an amazing pair they are. I can't pick a side, one minute I'm #TeamJames, the next I'm #TeamAdie. Mainly though I'm #TeamLois and can't wait to see her kick some bad guy butt.

If you think you'd enjoy a kinky, thrills and spills, suspense filled well written, fast paced story then look no further than this series.

So many secrets. It is all falling into place. I'm not sure who I would choose here if I was Lois. Especially, as not everyone is who I thought they were. This is my third instalment of Lois, Adie, and James, and it was supposed to be the last. Nothing ever goes to plan in my world, and now I am thinking it might take another two or three books to finish the series - so I'm now 2/3rds of the way through 'Fire.'

As most of you will have guessed by now, this is very dark romance, with assassins and torture involved. All the characters are damaged in some way, and it's probably going to get worse before it gets better.

I have to confess that I am enjoying this love-triangle, though. Which team am I on? Adie or James?

Hmm... team James, but it's a close run thing.

I continue to be a Lois fan. Not super crazy about either James (alpha-hole 1) or Adie (alpha-hole 2).
Point to the author: When in the POV of James or Adie, neither sees himself as a hero.

The dark erotica continues with some intense m-f-m scenes. All consensual if on the harsh side for my taste. Major plot hole problems continue. Lois does a nude 'scene' 4 days after her torso was sliced and diced in knife play. No mention of the healing wounds when describing her or related reactions.

Some plot holes were filled including identification and capture of the true bad-guy.

You need a strong stomach for this book; it starts and ends with graphic torture, BUT, it is remarkably readable for all that. Lois endures much of the violence in it, and a great deal of sexual activity. There is humour and covert romance too. What happens next? On to book 4!

I loved everything, except I still have to find out if they can get out of this. This is a new author for me and I love the story which keeps getting more complicated. It certainly has me interested. I'm confused at the end but I 'm sure I will find out. v

This episode of James and Adie working with Lois was the most intense and nonstop action. I loved that Lois got one up on Adie - that was brilliant. Although I gave it 5 stars because I loved the story THAT much, there were quite a few logistical errors and typos throughout. Namely, when they were doing the scene at Adamantine, Adie takes his shirt off because he’s sweating and the next minute, James has yanked Adie’s shirt out of his jeans and pushed it upwards to his neck then later, when Adie is on the St Andrews Cross, he’s tearing Adie’s dress shirt apart.

There was also plenty of errant quote marks throughout the book.

First let me say I love this series , it is dark, dirty and sometimes hard to take. But it is utterly engrossing. I can't wait to find out what happens next to Lois, Adie, and James.
Second I am stealing this quote because it sums up my feelings - "Ms. Mandara does not write quickly enough. I need her to release a book every month at the very least and she keeps me waiting for months, and worse – ends everything on a horrendous cliff hanger. The third book in the series. these are not standalones, you need to read them in order.

Once I started reading i kept flipping the pages until I was done. Those early scenes with Adie and Lois. Those were so intense and even though they were sometimes hard to read, there was also humor in there.

And there are twists and turns and not everything is was i thought. It kept me guessing.

And was yelling at my ereader at the end of the book.

Point Of Views

While I feel half the second book could have been merged with this one, I loved the added monologues! Aide, James, and Lois make quite the trio! The heat is still there and a thicker plot, plus ANSWERS (queue dramatic music).

Still have grammar, punctuation, and misuse of words throughout. Not overly distracting, slightly perturbed on an OCD level.

Overall a hot, enjoyable read and am looking forward to reading the fourth.

The love triangle unfolding in this book has me constantly on edge. James and Adie are two Alpha Males, neither of which will back down, and poor Lois is caught in the middle. She manages to hold her own, though.

Ah, this book was much better than the previous one. Especially the whole dungeon torture scene with Adie and Lois. It was crazy, demented and all kinds of hot 🔥 Hey now, don't judge me just cuz I enjoy torture okay?

He was a cross between a serial killer and a terrifying psychopath, and that was being kind.

Lois,( bless her soul ).....thankfully ditched the idiotic vibe and was back into her badass mode. And James and Adie were back into 'agent' mode too. It was fun seeing the three of them work together.

However, on the flip side, Ms. Mandara managed to give the book a dramatic, Hollywood type flare instead of keeping it realistic which felt a bit ridiculous.
They are trained operatives and some of them best that this secret agency has. Why would the agency give them a task with gave them absolutely zero fighting chance. I mean, I eye-rolled really fucking hard at that ending. James "Mr. I am in control of everything, i am a super assassin" Leveritt didn't see it coming when the cameras were tampered with? It's unbelievable.
Also, the whole pain tolerance debacle when bullets and tracking chips are being removed from their body....yeah, really overdramatic. I would say it hurts like a bitch if someone is cutting you up with knife for a medical procedure without anesthesia, wouldn't you? (Unless they have congenital analgesia ofc...which they don't)

One thing that really impressed me in this book....the author has done thorough research on torture. It was fun to see how Adie used creative methods to make Lois scream. Especially the knife trick with her back. ❤️
The story has progressed and that cliffhanger has left me reaching for the next book. Let's hope there's more where the torture stuff came from ;)😈💀

Our heroine is faced with a difficult choice, trying to figure out which path will save her. Assuming either one is safe.

This is book three of the series. It does okay as a standalone, but will be much more enjoyable in read in order.

This is a dark romantic suspense story with strong elements of D/S and more. The story is well written and easy to read, but also rather intense. If you are looking for the usual vanilla BDSM, this is not it. That being said, if you like things with a bit more edge, then you are in the right place. The characters are well developed and definitely bring the story to life. The plot is fast paced with lots of action and full of interesting twists and turns. There is also quite a bit of steam along the way. Overall, I found the story highly enjoyable and look forward to more from this author.

Highly recommended.

Typically, I avoid longer series because I get sucked in but then bored by book 3. This is not the case with the Secret Agent series by CP Mandara. The books are not standalones and must be read in order, so bear that in mind with my review to avoid spoilers. Flames picks up where book 2 left off, Lois has failed in her attempt to kill who she thought was Alain Dumortier and is now being tortured to find out who she works for. She refuses to break and eventually uses Adie to escape, running into James Leverett on her way out. The three erstwhile partners then go on a series of adventures first avoiding the elder Dumortier’s men and then trying to draw the real Alain out. The book has so many twists and turns it would be overwhelming if the storytelling wasn’t right on point. There are three books to go and I’m not sure what else she’s going to throw at us, but I’m here for it!.

These books are a very good read but dark dark dark, I find I have to set it aside often to come up for air, but, I have to find out so I have to keep reading! Lois, James and Adrien aka Adie special agents working on an ongoing case, all three have three very different personal reasons for giving their all no matter what on this case besides what their higher up’s assign to them and they are not about to give up reaching their personal goals at whatever cost! I do recommend this series, could potentially be so many triggers and very dark, be prepared to take some pauses along the way. Special agents James, Lois, and Adie go on a death mission and seem to draw the monster out Alain Dumortier only they were not nearly as smart as they thought they were and now they are in the monster's control and he is forcing a confession that will rock Lois to her core as well as James and Lois before all is said and done. Excellent story line, and the characters are pretty much coming off the page with the intense story line and action. Adult content. From the very first page to the vey last. Which by the way is a cliffhanger…spoiler alert… I could not get enough of this super sexy and kinky as heck storyline.
I had to go back and read the first 2 episodes (books) just to keep myself familiar with this Agent and Beastlike story.

I’m loving this series. Must. Have. More.

By the time Flames started, I wasn’t sure if I loved Leveritt and Dumortier, or if I wanted them both to die! At the same time, I couldn’t help putting myself in Lois’s place when she was up against men that both were falling for her and manipulating her for their own needs of survival. I think it was this book that really crafted the love triangle aspect for me and, by the end of it, I was a believer. The world of deception and sexual intrigue leaps off the page and sucks you in instantly.

I cringed. Literally cringed when Adie was interrogating Lois. My skin crawled at his callousness, but at the same time, I knew he was trying to help her as much as he could. James has such a stoic manner that when you see glimpses of chinks in his armor, he becomes human to you. I cannot wait to learn what happens now that Lois knows more about his past.
