Every bride is nervous on her wedding night…isn’t she? Elizabeth and Darcy are married at last! But the young bride can’t help but wonder what, exactly, is in store for her in the marriage bed. According to her mother and Jane, not anything good. The more experienced women order Lizzy to close her eyes, count to 100 (or 50, in Bingley’s case) and it will be over. Mr. Darcy is horrified when he discovers this advice. He vows to teach Elizabeth a new way to count… Unfortunately, it feels as if the universe is conspiring against them. A broken axle, an awful inn, thunderstorms and bickering valets and maids all interrupt the couple. Will Darcy ever be able to truly show Elizabeth how beautiful the union between a man and woman can be? Though facing so many disasters does have its advantages. Elizabeth slowly opens to Darcy, until she is craving their union as much as he does. But how many post-wedding disasters can one couple stand? Our dear couple is starting to lose count! Hold on to your horses (literally, there’s a huge thunderstorm ahead), because this road to true love isn’t running smoothly! Can a sensual variation also be comic and sweet? Certainly! 100 Ways to Love Darcy is both a steamy and sweet Pride and Prejudice variation. In this intimate JAFF variation, Elizabeth and Darcy face countless mishaps on their way to a happily-ever-after. But Darcy is determined to show Elizabeth that his love is infinite. Enjoy the ride!
By day, Caitlin Marie Carrington juggles motherhood, her editing job, one surly cat and all the adorable drama that life with small children (and one giant husband) entails.
By night, she imagines new adventures for our dear couple, Elizabeth and Darcy.
Seriously! The banter between Darcy and his cousin, mrs Bennet's informative talk with Lizzy, and Jane... Well you will have to read for yourself but I have never laughed so heartily with our dear Jane. Poor Bingley...
Entered with ODC's wedding and continued with an eventful and sizzling hot journey back to Pemberley.
Loved this variation. I laughed out loud and commiserated at the interruptions as each disaster happened. I would love to read a longer novel that includes some pre-wedding mishaps preventing more than one kiss, Jane and Bingley’s fumbling first attempts following all the advice, Darcy’s advice to Bingley with some sort of description of their success or smiles afterward, and finally Fitzwilliam and Caroline’s story. This last could be a novella all on its own. Highly recommended for anyone who likes the steamier variations. It is by far my favorite I have read by this or any other author.
... 3 stars for plot. This is a quick read. Carrington delivers passion, writes well (dialogue is good, spelling and grammar are pretty good - with mistakes limited to a few misplaced pronouns or words that spell-check wouldn’t catch), and the non- passionate scenes only occasionally feel contrived. This isn’t a story that I would consider well-done without the great sex, but it’s certainly leagues ahead of many, many of the saccharine-sweet stories that I’ve suffered in the genre.
This book has it all. Romantic love, sensual love.angst and lots of humor. I would have like to heard Darcy's conversation with Bingley; I imagine laughing my head off. I just confess that I kept replaying the song "100 says to leave your lover" while reading.
Elizabeth and Jane have been scared witless by the married ladies of their acquaintance. Luckily for her, Lizzie is bold enough to broach the subject with Mr Darcy, who is forced to take action.
Well, definitely a fun and very sexy romp. A short, delightful read with everything going wrong except our dear couple. Delightful and smoldering. It may make you want to find your Mr Darcy....
This book is not for everyone It is sexy, steamy, witty, and a very sensual variation of Pride and Prejudice. It is to be the Darcy's wedding night, but one disaster after another plague the couple. To make matters worse, Elizabeth has been given lots of bad advice which has her intimidated about the whole wedding night expectations. I enjoyed it very much. Let me count the ways!
In this P&P sequel Darcy is relieved that he and Elizabeth Bennet are finally married. Now he looks forward to the wedding night, as they travel towards Pemberley. After all the advise that Elizabeth has received she is slightly nervous of what is to come. Unfortunately there will be obstacles to the event. An enjoyable well-written novella of mature content.
