3.5⭐️ A lot of great ritual and self care tips. I was able to learn about different holidays, crystals, plants, herbs, tea, and practices. I really enjoyed the journal prompts in the first part in the book. I was sad to see they are only in the beginning and not after every chapter. However, I felt like some things were very repetitive and that the author was saying the same things over and over a few different times.
This is a great beginners guide to self care and magic at the same time. It shows how to easily incorporate your spirituality into your routines and how to stick to it.
There was some good information in here. I liked that she left a lot of flexibility for creating rituals and mini rituals that fit your day, energy level, etc. There were recipes for oil diffuser blends, tea, and other ways to engage in ritual. The chapter about astrology was also weirdly spot on for me, but others that read the book with me didn’t find that to be true.
If you’re looking for ideas to get you started on a self-care ritual journey, and you don’t want to be told exactly how to do it, this book is great. You can read it, take what you like, and leave what you don’t.
I docked a star because she had a chapter in here where she suggests yin yoga as a restorative self care. I was ALL ABOUT IT until I read her flow and it was all standing balance poses, which is not yin or restorative unless you are a tight rope walker.
Also, this was helpful in creating a little do’s and don’ts of self-care rituals (do make it attainable, don’t aim for perection), but I did crave more solid examples of ritual. (Written this way on purpose though, so you have to build the ritual yourself.)
What a great book, lots of good prompts and ideas to practice your Craft and feel connected to the Magick inside. This book needs to be on your shelf, whether you are a newbie or been on the broom for 100 years. Its a great introduction to working with astrology, and I am not into astrology at all, but this book helped me understand how I can use astrology to help, without overwhelming me. I loved all the tools and exercises to follow, it makes you take part and find your way of using what is written. All in all a great book to keep going back to many times for advice and ideas.
Lots of good info here on how to care for your mind, body, and spirit in ways that work for you!
This guide didn't feel preachy or prescriptive and encourages the reader to make any modifications or adjustments to make a ritual fit their own lifestyle.
Tenae also walks readers through how to create their own rituals in order to create something new.
Highly recommend to anyone seeking self-care rituals!
Tenae’s book is wonderful. While at the time she was writing to women, she herself has said if she was writing today she would have used much broader and inclusive language. Nearly every word of this book resonates with me (it even has a chapter on finding what resonates!), and I ran out of sticker tabs annotating all of the things I want to revisit or implement in my practice. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to take better care of themselves!
I am fairly new to my practice, and this is by far one of the best “beginner” books I have read. This is one of the few that actually breaks down how to create rituals, and offered good insight to other areas beyond self care. Tenae is so approachable in her writing, and the book is laid out and formatted beautifully.
The book provided some solid and simple ideas for integrating Wiccan practices in your life.
It's a nice, easy ready with colorful pictures. Sometimes you don't want a detailed accounting, you just want some inspiration and ideas. This will do you well!
It was laid out beautifully with good ideas - like a Martha Stewart magazine, but for witches!
The author has good knowledge of her subject and walks you through exploring your own inner needs to form a thoughtful practice. I found some of it too vague, and the end extremely abrupt. While a pleasant and easy read with some good tools, there could have been more depth or detail to guide the reader.
Absolutely loved this book! Currently on a healing journey, managing C-PTSD, autoimmune disease, and immunocompromised. This book was, and will continue to be, a large part of my healing practices. Definitely recommend! 💗

This is a must read! I think the author had quite a nuanced approach to organizing and sharing how to bring self care into a magical practise. She was incredibly thorough and I felt this was a super cozy read that really benefited my own practice. 5/5!
A very great book that helps me find out more about myself and about what I need the most. There are so much advices, this is a grimoire to keep preciously !
It's not quite what I was expecting, but it was the book I needed to read at the time. Informative and helpful, like a bolstering chat with a knowledgeable cool aunt. I look forward to more books by this author, but I wish it had more self care ideas (potions, ritual baths, herbal remedies, botanical beauty) and a little less generic "self help" feel.
Great beginners guide! I learned I can incorporate smalls things daily into my practice. It doesn't have to be hard, or done a specific way. You make it your own.
