Oh, there's a beautiful ending to this series. Books like this should be written more.

This was such a cute series, I can't believe I am finished. I am so happy with where it ended, it was perfect. Even though I wanted more of their future, when they were older, I am still satisfied with the ending. It was everything I needed and I couldn't stop smiling.
When Futaba was in middle school, she had a hard time making friends. This was because a lot of boys in her grade liked her because she was cute. This led her to hate boys, except for one guy named Kou. Kou was a guy who was less manly, shorter than the other guys in his grade, and had a gentle voice. Before the two of them can hang out more and get to know each other, Kou disappeared and moved away from her life. Later on, Futaba moves onto high school and decides to change herself, so that she can make friends. She starts to eat more and act more aggressive in front of guys. She is surprised to run into her childhood crush who has changed as much as she has.
Honestly, Futaba and Kou are so cute, they have so many sweet moments, I can't help but feel so happy for them. Whenever I read these cute mangas, it fills my heart with happiness. Later on, I usually talk to my friends about the mangas I've read and it's super fun to bond on these books.
Anyway, Futaba is a great character, she is strong, and stands up for what she believes in. She speaks her mind but can get confused very easily. Kou is kinda frustrating at times, he is honest but he doesn't share that much of his life. He has a hard time depending on others and would rather keep to himself. Yuuri is a great friend, even though I was annoyed with her at the beginning of the series. Marou is a motherly character, she is more mature and looks out for her friends. Aya is hilarious and stands up for his friends, he doesn't give up and gives everything his all!
I loved the cast of characters in this series and I loved the pacing as well. There were so many moments that were powerful and stood out. I was excited to see my favourite characters finally figure everything out. I am so glad that everything turned out okay, I was scared for what would happen in the end.
I am hoping to read more novels, because it's been almost 2 months since I have read an actual book. I read a little bit of Carry On, but I feel like I am forcing myself to read. I will probably start another manga, but I will try reading a little more and hopefully the pace starts to pick up on Carry On. Anyway, I'll be off!

It is no secret that this is my favorite anime so it also has undoubtedly my favorite manga.
The story was simply beautiful, and the end...oh the end.....My heart stayed with this one.

This was basically a wrap-up and was shorter than I expected it to be (the last quarter of the book was a Strobe Edge short story) but overall I’m very glad I read this series - it was cute, fluffy but also frustrating at times and I’m happy with the end result! :)

THIS. IS. SO. BITTERSWEET. I’m sad. I’m heartbroken. How will I move on from this series? I’ve seriously grown so attached to these 5 characters: futaba, kou, kominato, murao, and yuri I LOVE YOU ALL🫶 I’m so happy we got to them all happy. First yuri: her and her bf r so cute! I adore them so much :) kominato and murao: IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!! So so so happy they’re together and the growth they went through throughout this whole series, it was so worth it to them together in the end! They suit eachother so nicely and I absolutely love them 💞 now kou and futaba: im so happy it didn’t just end at the last volume. Im happy for the couple content we got and all I have to say is THEY ARE SO FREAKING CUTE. I LOVE THEM SO SO SO MUCH! Seeing them from Vol 1 to now: I am so so proud of them. ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT WTF WAS THT DREAM I WAS LITERALLY READY TO THROW UP, CRY AND RIOT BC WTF I GOT A HEART ATTACK. anyways, kou made me so proud! Loved how he called futaba by her first name and changed his last name. So proud of him. I feel like what was really special about this manga series was that, futaba was pretty much kou’s knight in shining armor :) or as he described her: “his hero” 💜 she didn’t save him from a dragon or anything, but she saved him from himself and I think that’s so special. This story is so special. This group of friends is so special. And I loved every second of it. Definitely one of my all time favorites<3

THE END! i’m so sad it’s over, this was truly such a cute manga series that i now hold to my heart because it has so much growth between literally so many characters. i loved seeing Kou especially grow so so much! he was such an upset person in the very beginning, and then through new friends and a romance he became such a happy person. i love it. i love it so much!! It was such a bittersweet ending, i love that Futaba and Kou ended up together and that tiny scare in the end almost got me, i had to reread the previous pages thinking i read wrong but… just a dream… haha! but it definitely gave me a startle.

Serie finita e… WOW!
Tipico manga shojo ma che, secondo il mio modesto parere, è un passo avanti rispetto agli altri del genere.
Molto introspettivo e dettagliato, con lo scorrere delle pagine si assiste alla maturazione dei personaggi in maniera profonda e in alcune occasioni anche inaspettata.
Una storia molto dolce, molto romantica, che mi è piaciuta nonostante alcuni cliché.
Personaggi ben caratterizzati e qui devo fare i complimenti all’autrice per come ha presentato i maschietti della serie, tutti, perché sono da scioglimento completo causa troppo romanticismo nelle vene!

Ah, youth.
What a satisfying ending! Going back to where it started. I can't help but cry. I think I appreciated this series even much better. Kou and Futaba may deserve all the hate other onlookers will give them, but they're only human. With flaws and everything. It's better to always come clean and be honest with yourself instead of holding back and regretting it later. It was a beautiful series of one hell of a youth ride. My poor heart though. The shuttle was too fast for me, now I'm all alone again! AUGH I NEED ANOTHER SHOUJO SERIES

Wow, a ending that sticks.
There's a relationship I wanted for a long time to happen, and it did, and happened so simply wonderful I can't help but be happy. There's also a moment that made my heart leap, thought we were going down a scary sad road but luckily not. Overall great farewell, to a really good cast of characters.

What a wonderful conclusion to this series (with the cover being my absolute fave)!
Futaba and Kou have come SO far and so deeply thankful I was able to be on this journey with them! I adored the ending and what Futaba would say to her past self, finding out the name of Kou's cat, and truly everything that takes place in this volume. It was beautiful!
I am SOOOO glad Kominato got so much spotlight! He is such an amazing and wonderful character! I was so happy for him and loved seeing him not be afraid to cry. (Truly, that is one of my favorite parts of Io Sakisaka's writing! She writes such amazing heroes!)
AND STROBE EDGE!!! I remember being told there was a Strobe Edge short story and it was everything because TODAAAAA!! I LOVED his character SOOOOO much in Strobe Edge and was one of the few times I wouldn't have been mad if the main ship didn't sail if they got together (even though there was ZERO romance even remotely there)! LOL! Bless Io Sakisaka for giving us more of him and seeing how amazing his character is! I loved everything about this short story and was such a blast seeing those characters again! <3
Ao Haru Ride was such a fantastic series and see now why it is so loved! There is heartbreak, yes, but there is healing and growth that ultimately leaves you hopeful. <3 Now that I know what happens, I would love to reread it again one day!

Not much happened in this final volume. I feel like it could’ve been added to last volume honestly.
But it was cute nonetheless!
I give this series as a whole a 4/5. It was cute, interesting and the characters are likeable. If you love shojo manga, you will love this series!

Title of My Favorite Manga series is officially going to this one.
This was everything I wanted in a shoujo and more. The growth, the friendships, the relationships, the angst! It was messy and true and so freaking GOOD.
I loved it so much!
RECAP: Futaba and Kou are official but she's feeling like he's not forthcoming with his feelings. Kominato enlists the two to help him confess to Shuko. Futaba finds out Kou's cat's name hehehehe. Valentines date happens and Kominato tells Shuko Mr. Tanaka's leaving but also confesses and Shuko chooses him. Futaba surprises Kou with a chocolate cake. Kominato's sister is back and MAYBE TOMA IS HER LOVE INTEREST. Back at school, Kou reveals he changed his last name back. Ends with the main couple back in the rain at the shrine but they have the do over they want.

Estoy muy emocionada!!!
Esta historia se centra en Kou y Futaba un par de adolescentes que se conocen a principio de secundaria y se enamoran pero sin declararse, Kou desaparece de repente dejando a Futaba muy triste y pensando que su amor era unilateral, 4 años después Kou reaparece con una actitud totalmente distinta a como era en la secundaria, Futaba intrigada por saber que podría haber pasado y el porque de su regreso descubre que los padres de Kou se divorciaron y por eso se fue y que a raíz de la muerte de su madre volvió, sabiendo que Kou esta cargando con muchas cosas en su soledad y que su corazón esta lleno de tristeza decide no dejarlo solo y traerle felicidad a su vida a pesar de los desplantes del chico, ¿Futaba lograra que Kou vuelva a disfrutar la vida?.
Al principio estaba muy enojada con Futaba porque Kou era un chico super indeciso que a veces la trataba bien y otra veces mal y ella seguía ahí con el, eventualmente descubrimos que Kou estaba pasando por muchas cosas y luchaba internamente consigo mismo y trataba bien a Futaba porque la amaba pero también la trataba mal para alejarla de él y no hundirla en su tristeza, ambos luchan contra lo que sienten contra las circunstancia y contra ellos mismos y después de muchas cosas deciden intentar ser felices juntos y aprender a dejar ir el pasado.
Estos personajes tuvieron una interesante evolución a veces se veía lenta o muy forzada pero todo tenia un porque si fuera solo por esta pajera probablemente no le habría dado 5 estrellas pero hubo una pareja muy especial.
Tanaka y Murao se enamoran pero son maestro y estudiante, Murao dejándose llevar por el estasis de la juventud pone a Tanaka sensei en situaciones muy riesgosas para su trabajo, dándose cuenta que el profesor puede ser despedido por sus imprudencias decide declarase para ser rechazada y así poder superarlo, Tanaka sensei sabiendo que no puede ofrecerle nada a Murao en ese momento y no queriendo hacerla esperar decide renunciar a ella rechazándola y sin admitirle que si la quiso, para que ella pueda ser feliz con alguien mas acorde a su edad.
Esta pareja también me gusto mucho porque te enseña que aunque te enamores no siempre el amor vence a veces también es sano dejar ir y enamorarse de nuevo.
Y lo que le dio las 5 estrellas es que al final del ultimo tomo aparece una historia extra de Strobe edge un manga que había leído anteriormente y que me encanto y sentí mucha alegría y nostalgia de volver a encontrarme con los personajes de Ren y Ninako, son adorables.

Kou and Futaba finally got themselves sorted out, so is there anything left to say? Not as much as you might think, but there are certainly a couple lingering things to take care of in the final volume of Ao Haru Ride!
Let me say this up front - I am definitely a fan of books that have their big confessions and then leave another volume for the newly minted couple to do couple things. It’s also nice that Kou and Futaba are not fundamentally different now, just being honest and open about their affections.
What’s weird to me is that Sakisaka makes it a point in her introduction to say that she doesn’t like endings where things are all neat and tidy. Well, this ending is so pat it could be a recurring early-90s sketch on Saturday Night Live.
There is nothing left hanging by the end - the situation with Murao and Kominato gets resolved, Kou’s brother, his last name, even useless rival Kikuchi gets closure. It’s not a bad thing, but ambiguous it is not.
It’s still fun though! The name of Kou’s cat becomes a great joke and the timing of how it’s presented is shockingly good for a comic. It even pays off something inconsequential that Sakisaka hid back in the fifth volume, so I have lots of respect for that kind of detail. Kou and Futaba do make a great pair and the theatre date is a perfect example of the two of them at their best.
The biggest downside is probably how little Yuri gets to do. She makes essentially a couple cameo appearances and that’s about it. That’s a bit of a bummer. After last volume also sidelined the supporting cast she deserved a bit more by the end.
There’s also a fantastic Strobe Edge bonus chapter included, which just serves to remind me how great Strobe Edge was. Spending time with Ren and Ninako again is a real treat, although it obviously has far less impact if you don’t have any familiarity with that series. It’s easy enough to follow, but without a connection to the characters it could feel like a waste of pages.
4 stars. It has tons of cute and a bonus chapter that was an unexpectedly enjoyable surprise for me. Overall I’d put this series at, hmm, probably 3.5 stars, but it was certainly a satisfying read and the last volume gave it the send off it deserved.

The biggest downside is probably how little Yuri gets to do. She makes essentially a couple cameo appearances and that’s about it. That’s a bit of a bummer. After last volume also sidelined the supporting cast she deserved a bit more by the end.
There’s also a fantastic Strobe Edge bonus chapter included, which just serves to remind me how great Strobe Edge was. Spending time with Ren and Ninako again is a real treat, although it obviously has far less impact if you don’t have any familiarity with that series. It’s easy enough to follow, but without a connection to the characters it could feel like a waste of pages.
4 stars. It has tons of cute and a bonus chapter that was an unexpectedly enjoyable surprise for me. Overall I’d put this series at, hmm, probably 3.5 stars, but it was certainly a satisfying read and the last volume gave it the send off it deserved.

Thank goodness it’s over! While that may seem a bit harsh, this series took a lot out of me. It took so long for these characters to get together! So many people were either put in the middle or just had to suffer through their drama. With that said, they were cute together once they actually got together. I would read another series from this author, I just hope it won’t be as exasperating as this one was.

خب باید بگم خیلی نازبشی بود. هرچند آرت استایل و این حرفاشو دوست نداشتم خیلی ولی خب یه سری ویژگی های خوب داشت. مثلاً واقع گرایانه بودنش، که تو هر شوجومانگایی نمیشه پیدا کرد :|
و یه مقداری هم بد آموزی داشت؛ چون کاراکتراش خیلی اوپن مایند بودن (البته اینو به عنوان یه ایراد نمی بینم، اصلاً). مثلاً دوتا رفیق همزمان با هم یه پسرو دوست دارن، بعد به هم میگن: «بیا تمام تلاشمونو بکنیم و هرکی موفق شد حمایتش کنیم!» و هر اتفاقی که میفتاد به هم دیگه راستشو میگفتن.
خو در دنیای واقعی من اگه بخوام انقد راحت و رک باشم، طرف همونجا با بند کفشاش دارم میزنه.
و آخراش لوس و یهویی شد و دختره چندش شد و کلا رفت رو مخم؛ ولی بهرحال از این که خوندمش ناراضی نیستم. چیز احساسی دوست داشتنی ای بود و علی رغم این که موقع خوندنش غصه خوردم، حالمو خوب کرد.

Al fin lpm, sentía que nunca terminaría. En general el manga me gustó pero siento que se pudo haber resuelto todo en menos de 13 tomos. Con respecto a este tomo, me pareció bueno pero solo eso, creo que debería darle 3 estrellas, pero a ninguno de los demás tomos le he dado bajo de 4 (creo) asi que me sentiría mal. Pero en honor a toda la historia le doy un 4🤷🏻♀️
