Charles Frazier Stanley was born September 25, 1932, in the small town of Dry Fork, Virginia. The only child of Charley and Rebecca Stanley, Charles came into the world during a time when the entire nation felt the grip of the Great Depression. To make matters worse, just nine months later, his father Charley died at the young age of 29.
However, Charles refused to let the Great Depression or the difficulties of his life define him. Instead, like his father and grandfather before him, he clung to God’s Word and took up the mantle to preach the gospel to whoever would listen.

If Charles Stanley wrote it, I'll read it. His wisdom never ceases to amaze me. Understanding the will of God is crucial to really making it through this world. The world around us is so horribly distracting. This book helped me understand what it looks like, how to listen to God, and identify what distracts me from God. I marked several pages for quotes. And there are so many good ones.
"Does that mean the Lord is unwilling to meet those deep desires of your heart? Of course not. Yes, He may have other objectives for you to accomplish. But He is not insensitive to the longings in you. However, He is also vigilant to ensure that nothing else takes residence on the throne of your heart--which is His rightful place and His alone." - Charles Stanley, The Will of God, page 122

Do you ever wonder if you are following God's will for your life? Do you wonder how to discern what that will is? Dr Charles Stanley, one of my favorite pastors and authors, guides you through the different ways God communicates His plans, provides you with specific steps to make sure that you are walking in God's will for your life and helps you discern His will. This is a great read to help you make a big decision and check in. He even concludes with 7 questions to ask yourself to ensure you are in His will and not yours!

I enjoyed reading this book and it is an easy read. I have always look forward to the teachings of Charles Stanley. I have been following his ministry of God's word for about forty years. May he continued to teach and preach about The Only Wise God.

One of those books that will keep you hooked from the first to the last page. When I was having my hardest moments I feel like Gods timing, allowed me to read those words when I needed it the most. He gives you great examples throughout the book that we can all relate to being believers or not.

An excellent view through Scripture for determining the will of God in your life. This book also highlighted His love towards us, His children, in ways I've never understood before, making me love Him more deeply. A must read for any believer.

Good Read
I never read any of Dr. Stanley's books until he passed away. I watched his broadcasts and church services. I can't recommend this book enough, if your searching for God's will in your life read this book.

Dr. Charles Stanley does a masterful job decoding the topic of God's will. This is a practical work that walks the reader through the understanding of what we mean by the term and the path we must follow to discover God's will. Stanley shares many examples from his life to illuminate the writing. The book is written in a conversational style, and I found the author's tone to be encouraging as he lets his reader know that even an experienced pastor can struggle in this area. Thanks for a helpful treatment of the topic!

Great teaching and encouragement. Very practical and biblical. I appreciated how much was derived directly from Scripture. Chapters 4 and 5 are exceedingly helpful--gives you some thoughts to write on a notecard and carry with you to help you make decisions and seek the Lord. I would have preferred the chapters be a bit shorter.

I have to again once more give our senior pastor two thumbs up with five golden stars which make up his diadem. Charles F. Stanley is crowned with the experience of a very wise council always so in agreement with Holy scripture(s), Charles displays his wisdom, and experience with every inch of his life long search of Almighty God and gives it all to us, what a gift.

I can't say enough good things about this book. Most of the point covered, we already know as Christians, but Dr. Stanley makes them very clear & puts what we need to do in an order we can understand and follow. A must-read for everyone. Loved it!

I love Charles Stanley’s work! He really speaks biblical truth.
The book is lined out perfectly with the explanation, steps, needs, wants, etc. revolving around God and His specific will for you.
There were times some of the passages were redundant, otherwise, an excellent read.

I enjoyed this book very much. Gave me the idea to take time first thing in the morning to thank God and take time in the evening at bed time to be still and just listen to the Holy Spirit.
