The Hidden Spaceship: An Adventure Into Environmental Awareness

Rate this book

When Amelia and Noah stumble across a spaceship, an out-of-this-world adventure begins! The friends have a very special mission - to help save the Earth's ecosystem.
They must go on a daunting journey to another planet, find a treasure chest and complete their quest.
What secret does the treasure chest hold?

"This emerging author is so passionate about the future of our planet that you can't help but be drawn into her stories and totally inspired! The Hidden Spaceship is full of excitement, bravery and, above all, a really important message for the young reader to take home." Lor Bingham, editor.

The Hidden Spaceship is a fun and engaging adventure into environmental awareness published by Save The Planet Books.

Perfect for parents and caregivers wanting to educate their kids about the environment, nature, and animals.
A wonderful gift for teachers, librarians, and educators who are looking to teach about environmental protection, recycling, and climate change. Great for fans of Love the Earth by Julian Lennon, Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth by Oliver Jeffers, What a Waste by Jess French and the classics from Giles Andreae, Julia Donaldson, and Mo Willems.

The Hidden Spaceship is a story that speaks directly to kids using simple topics such as reuse and recycle, use less plastic, plant a vegetable garden, walk or ride a bicycle to get around.
This book makes children understand that they can do something - even if it’s very small - to help taking care of our Planet.

From the Author
I write books for young children that have the future of our planet at their heart. I passionately believe that children are our last chance to improve our ecosystems, find solutions to major climate problems, and save the planet.
I also believe in the importance of reading to children from an early age, and hope that my books engage children (and parents!) and inspire them to believe in a better future.

Benefits of Environmental Education
According to United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), there are four reasons to provide children with environmental education:

To make them more aware and conscious of environmental problems.
To boost their interest in caring for and improving the environment. To enhance their ability to learn about their surroundings. To broaden their ecological knowledge in subjects such as landscapes, air, water, natural resources and wildlife.

Education for Sustainable Development is a key element of the 2030 UNESCO Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The book starts with a fun song, just to get readers ready for their adventure.  Amelia and Noah stumble across a spaceship and enter it, thus beginning their adventure to a distant planet.
The illustrations are big, bright and bold throughout, to capture children's attention. They meet an alien on the planet that shows what humans are doing to the planet. It shows just enough for young children to understand, but not to terrify them.
The story with the intrepid explorers continues as they begin a quest the Ualalumpa (alien) has sent them on.... The treasure is something more magical and wonderful than what readers would expect and it certainly isn't your usual gold or jewels.

This book would inspire children in the ways that they could help save Earth in a way that they understand and in a really fun way. The mix of fact and story all weaved together is great, alongside the pictures filling the page.

This would be a great asset to a personal book collection or library or school as it is pleasurable to read and has an educational element as in it has meaning and some thought-provoking pages that could be good for stimulating conversation.

At the back there is an important note from the author about how she is passionate about both our eco-system and in young children reading for pleasure. There is also a sneek-peek about her next book.

I recommend this book because it promotes reading for pleasure and in a really fun way, promotes the environment without being preachy and instead being more of an adventure. It is a book that children can have a lovely time with as they get a good story and gain a bit of knowledge at the same time.
I can say that already children and their parents/caregivers are already enjoying it.

The Hidden Spaceship is a brilliant story about two children, Amelia and Noah, who discover a spaceship and end up on a beautiful planet where they are explained about the state of planet earth and how they can save it.

We've read many books trying to encourage children to be more environmentally friendly but I think this is one of the best we've read. The story is so much fun and shown as an adventure throughout the book which keeps the children interested and a spaceship and treasure is so fun for them to see. It's great to see environmental awareness included in the story and not just somewhere the story ends up!

The illustrations are fantastic and do a very good job of keeping the children excited with the story and clearly showing what is happening in the book and on planet Earth. The contrast between the beauty of the planet and earth makes it very easy for us to see why earth is being let down.

This is a fantastic book to encourage children to think about being more environmentally friendly and has some simple tips at the end which are achievable for children and something to aim for, a brilliant book.

Amelia and Noah are happily singing as they follow the trail into The Secret Forest. They discover a hidden spaceship. Amelia presses Noah to come inside and explore. Almost immediately, they are rocketing into space.

They land on an alien planet where a creature names Ualalumps informs them that he has brought them to his planet. Earth’s environment is being destroyed. It will be their job to save it. He gives them a shovel and a map. The children dig until they find a treasure chest. In it they will find what he wants them to take home to save their planet.

The illustrations are charming and inviting. Ferrari wants children to become active in saving the environment. This book focuses on the adventure more than what the children need to do once they are back on Earth.

I read this book in the Kindle version. Even when enlarged the text was small and extremely difficult to read. I would highly recommend that readers purchase the print version which is clear and easy to read

The illustration are non-stop gorgeous. Amelia and Noah go into space to be shown the different teachings from the alien on how to save the planet. This book has the major message that children can help save the planet's environment.
Amelia and Noah are singing in the forest when they see a spaceship through the trees. They see the open door and Amelia goes on and Noah follows. They are off. They land on an unusual planet and Ualalumpa greets them. Children like you are the key to saving your planet. Do you like being the key to saving the planet? What did he tell them to do? You know what you need to do? The Fun part, listen/read to the storybook. It is great fun and the pictures are pretty, go look at.

An absolute must read for small as well as older kids. Amazing how the writer managed to pass on such an important message and also keep children's attention high in only very few pages. The message that kids can do so much to help save the planet goes straight to the heart. I really hope that as many people as possible will read this book in order for it to touch many and help put the message in action. This absolutely should become a Bestseller 👍
