Lyla was completely off limits.

My best friend’s baby sister was the thing wet dreams were made of. Killer body, sexy personality, and the ability to win my daughter over with that disarming smile of hers.

I’ve loved her since before she was legal, but there was always something in our way.

Her brother would kill me if I touched her though. What Judge ruled, everyone in the Underground obeyed.

Including me.

When I told her I wouldn’t go against her brother, she walked away.

Yet she always came back. Not for me, but for my daughter. I lived off those brief visits. Just listening to Josie giggle every time Lyla was in the same room with her fed my soul.

Now, she was home for more than the random weekend, and I ached to make her mine.

To hell with her brother and the consequences.

Josie and I needed Lyla, and we weren’t letting her go this time.

3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads.
======================

I ached to make us a family, to give in and say to hell with everything else, but Judge’s friendship was too important to me.

“I will let you take care of me, Howler. I’ll even stay here with you and Josie. All it’s going to take is for you to say the words and give me what I want the most.”

“I can’t, Lyla.”

“No, Graham. You can have anything you want. You just don’t have the balls to fight for it.”

“When you love someone, you risk it all. No matter the consequences. Loving a woman means she comes first. Over everything and everyone else. You failed, Howler. You proved to me that what you feel for my baby sister isn’t strong enough.”

‘Daddy.’” I lifted my brows. “You don’t like it? Is it creepy?”

“Yes, Daddy,” I said with a wink and buckled Josie into her booster seat.

“I don’t know. What do you think, Daddy?” What I thought was I fucking loved it when she called me “Daddy.” And not just because she could make it sound dirty as hell at times.

A great start to a new series! (Although if you haven't read it, you should totally start with Holding Mia (Rockers' Legacies, book #1) by the same author first. Not required but cool to make connections between all of the characters in both books.)

Howler & Mia made for a sizzling match. Their history with one another, the chemistry they share, the adorable family of three they are with Josie... it all just makes them a couple you can't help but root for.

Howler... He was super swoon-worthy once he FINALLY grew some balls & claimed Lyla! The way he stood up to Judge, his bond with Josie & the way he took care of Lyla in the bedroom are just some of the reasons why I couldn't help but fall for him.

Lyla... Really liked how she was an awesome blend of sweet & kick-a**. The way she was with scene-stealer Josie & how she single-handedly took down Gwen (not to mention another baddie guy)... Can we say #girlcrush?!

The epilogue was so stinkin' cute but since I'm a #greedyb*tch, I still NEEDED more at the end.

Excited to see Judge fall to his knees in front of Ellianna! But first up... Braxton & Nevaeh's happily ever after. Only three more weeks! :)

Side Note: The word cream or any derivative of it should never be used in sexual situations. Sentences like "I felt myself creaming" & "I'm going to devour every drop of cream you've got to give me" only makes the heroine sound like she has a vaginal infection. #gross

Off limits is book one in the sons of the underground series. This story is short, fast paced and enjoyable. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters loveable and the storyline enjoyable. Off limits is Howler and Lyla’s story that we met in Mia’s story. Howler has been attracted to his best friends sister before she was even legal. For years he fought his attraction, not wanting to lose his best friend of the underground fighting. When Howler’s daughter needs Lyla, she moves herself into their home and Howler decides its time to get his woman. Lyla has loved Howler for years but he was too much of a coward to choose her. When Josie, Howler’s daughter needs her she decides to move in with them. Will Lyla give in to Howlers advances; will she be able to trust him to pick her?
I liked Howler but he annoyed me a little. I understood why he was resistant in dating Lyla but he was very push and pull. I love Lyla. I love how kick ass and take no messing she is.
The chemistry between Howler and Lyla is clear to see and I loved the build up to them getting together. I also loved them as a couple. They’re perfect for one another. I loved that Howler finally got the guts to go after the woman he loved.
I really loved Lyla’s bond with Josie. Josie is adorable and her love for Lyla was undeniable.
I really hated Gwen. I was so ready for Lyla to kick her ass.. again! I have to admit, I had figured out who was helping Gwen before it was revealed.
I really liked the ending of this story and the epilogue.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for more books from this series and more books from Terri Anne Browning.

I enjoy this author but I must say I felt like I was thrown into the middle of this book and something is missing.
We get no background of what happened before between Lyla and Howler. We just see him not being able to choose her over his friend and she going off and then it's 3 yrs later.
We also get glimpses of Judge and Barrick's struggles with their HEA.
I just didn't get any content except the ex causing trouble and her fear that Howler wouldn't pick her if given an ultimatum.
Quick easy read just not any meat to keep it interesting.

None of the characters in these next generation books have held my interest. Which sucks because I love Terri Anne Browning..

I’ll still keep reading her books but Lyla and Howler just didn’t work for me..

She was Off-limits, until she wasn’t❤️

Howler and Lyla have a complicated history due to his connection with the Sons of the Underground and Lyla’s brother, Judge❣️

I loved this story and read it slightly out of order as I read Nevaeh’s story first...but it’s doable😜 This story flowed and the characters are great! I’m hoping that the Judge’s story is next as I’d like to know more about him and the woman who has grabbed his attention😍

i enjoyed this story but i felt like something was missing
every time i thought that something will happen but...nothing happened!
I thought that her brother will be stay in the way, but no! the brother told him that back then he could do anything to make her stay and not let her go away and he didn't do that cuz he didn't think he meant doing "that" and he reject her, but i could kind of understand him then cuz she was almost 18..she was still little...
I usually avoid story's when there are previous relationship kids but this time it fitted with the story line and anyway she was really little when he had Josie.
I thought that when they will end up together will be fireworks, an explosion of passion..but...nope...
the sex was ok but..i didn't get that feeling that "finally" you know ? also it bothered me that he wasn't her first (considering that she loved him since she was a kid,but also he didn't wait for her either)..but at the same time after all the rejection i kind of get it, but still ...he was mad about it only a few minutes then..."puff" all alright, dang i wished more from this.
Her brother is right tho, if he truly wanted her he should go against everyone to have her but he didn't do it, and i wished she let him work for it more...i needed some more fire you know?
between them when they started was all smooth ..i loved her relationship with Josie..
also the only cool thing happened towards the end .
I needed and wished more from it, but at the same time i really enjoyed it anyway..
i will look forward to read the other story's cuz this book unfortunately was a lot more about the others than them 2 together and it's a shame cuz this book wasn't that long, she should focus more only on this couple and then make it about the others..
this is just how i felt.

This is book 1 in a crossover series from the Kids books. This book is Layla and Howler's story. We met these characters in Mia's book. Layla has been in love with Howler since she was 15. Howler has also been in love with her but problem is Howler is her brothers best friend and her brother has warned anyone in the underground from her. Howler also has the cutest daughter that you can not help falling in love with. Their story takes you through the journey as they both decides that their happiness is more important that what Layla's brother BUT in true author fashion love cannot be easy and the adventure is real. I couldn't put this down and I cannot wait for the next book.

First in series. This is Howler and Lylas story. He’s an underground fighter who also owns his own construction business and is a single father to josie. He’s been in love with his best friends (the judge) little sister for yrs and he knows she has always wanted him too but she was always off limits because her brother would never approve and didn’t want to have to chose between his friendship and the woman he wants. In the end he finally gets the courage to admit his feelings and apart from trouble with his ex all goes pretty smoothly. This is a sweet story but not much really happens. I do want to read the judges story when it gets released.

Terri Anne is one of my favourite authors. And again she didn’t disappoint me with this story. I loved Lyla. She stood up for herself. Howler thought her brother Judge would not want them together but in the end the brother stands beside both of them in their relationship. But Lyla and Howler have to deal with Howlers ex-baby mama. They fight for their happy ever after.

HOWLER

Graham Bronson has been in love with Layla for years. After she grows into a woman and Howler decides she comes first, he chooses her to her brother Judge and all is well. That is until his ex, Jose's mother looses her mind and proves how good Layla really is.

🅼🆈 🆁🅴🆅🅸🅴🆆:

After reading Judge and Ellie's book, which I loved oh so much, I had to read Lyla and Howler's book next.

I wanted to see how Howler was finally able to man up and mend what he had broken by not acknowledging Lyla's feelings and this book gave me all of what I wanted.

Meeting little Josie was such a delight because that little girl is so freaking special and made my heart melt time and again.

Lyla is such a 𝖻𝖺𝖽𝖺𝗌𝗌 girl who not only knows how to fight but also doesn't take things lying down and doesn't take $h!t from anyone, be it her own brother or Howler.

Lyla has always been in love with Howler and has loved his little daughter as if she were her own.
All she ever wanted was Howler to choose her and not her brother, who's always been best friends with Howler and part of the Underground Fighting Club.

So Lyla went away to college and on an assignment she was hired for by her cousins who run a security company.

But now Lyla is back and has to stay when she realises her precious little Josie seems to be in danger and Lyla will do anything for Josie to keep her safe and happy.

What Lyla didn't count was Howler grabbing this chance and doing everything in his power to be his. But how can Lyla trust him, when he's never chosen her before?!

We have angst too and also lots of grovelling and emotional times as Lyla and Howler have to battle out the unresolved feelings.

But there's also danger arising close by which Howler has to protect his family from.

The chemistry is spicy but also I love getting those times where your emotions are tugged in different directions and where finding love is easy but keeping it is more difficult.

Little Josie was such a cutie and her interactions with everyone are so adorable that she has my heart. ❤️

I didn’t love this one, but I also read it all the way through so something must have worked for me.

I actually liked the story but felt like I came into half way through, I’ve read two books recently that skipped out all the beginnings of a friendship - and I think that’s what makes best friends to lovers books so great, you get to see that bond.

Maybe this was part of another book or do something but I still feel like it was half a book. I think that’s the reason I finished though, it was quick and an easy read.

Won’t blow your socks off but might pass a few hours.

My issue with Terri books is that apart from the main H and h she always adds another couple.Example in the off- limits the main couple is Lyla and Howler but we have Emiliana and Judge story and even Barrick and Mia .And I was more interested and wanted to know more about Emiliana and Judge.Lyla and Howler's story didn't catch my attention and honestly I skipped a few pages. They hook up too early and nothing happened after that.

Howler wants Lyla but Judge, his best friend, will kill him if he touches Judges little sister.
Very disappointed that he didn't ignore Judge and pursue her anyway!
Howler's daughter, Josie, is a sweetie-pie and it was heartbreaking what she suffered at the hands of Gwen, Josie's drug addicted mother!

Unfortunately, I didn't care for this story. Her previous books ere good but this one didn't work for me, There wasn’t anything likable about him or her, He is all alpha and she think she all that too, there was no chemistry between them and the twist did work, i was repetitive and boring, the ending was ok.

Loved it!!

Loved this book and it was an easy read. Enjoyed a strong female who could take care of herself but loved the alpha males around her. Can’t wait to hear all their stories

What a great read

I love a good second chance/brothers best friend story. These two were meant to be together and their journey to get there was certainly special. As for Josie, she was super cute. A few minor spelling mistakes, but they didn't detract the experience.

Howler & Lyla

Love all Terri Anne Browning books. Great book to start a new series. I can’t wait for Howler’s story.

Lyla is a strong woman and Howler is a man who grow a pair to finally chase the woman he wants.
