All my life, I was trained to be the perfect killer.
An assassin. A ghost in the night. The sort of phantom that gives grown men nightmares.
But the woman who raised me to hunt dragon shifters made a mistake, and that blunder left me marked. Magical.
Determined to undo all of this, Zurie is now at war.
With me.
My former mentor won’t stop until I’m dead, but we know each other too well.
Moves. Tactics. Fears. Strengths. Weaknesses.
This will be a gruesome end for one of us—and I don’t care if she is the best assassin in the world.
No one tries to kill me and survives.
Because I’m not the same little girl she took in all those years ago. The one she trained to murder and steal from dragons.
I’m a warrior, something neither human nor dragon. There’s more power brewing within me than even I realize, and it’s about to break free.
And when it does, the world will tremble at my feet.

Rory continues to increase her dragon powers at the dojo. She and Irena are still being hunted by Zurie and they expect her attack at any time, so they enact a plan to retrieve the information that Irena gathered and attempt to take down the organization first. Jace is also forced to make a difficult decision with regard to his mate-bond with Rory.
Yay, the plot progresses in this one! I probably added a star just for that. Yes, we finally get Jace on board as I anticipated. Whew! Although, the build-up was so intense that when it finally happened, I felt a little unsatisfied. As for other parts of the plot, the characters finally get a big issue checked off their to-do list and they are about to embark on a path that I've been suggesting since book 2. Book 5 comes out in a few days and I've added it to my TBR. I'm still enjoying this series but am distracted by some other flashier ones at the moment. I hope to get to book 5 soon.
Honestly, at this point, I’m questioning why I’m continuing to read this series. The world has gotten seriously stagnant. Same or similar characters or players. Repetitive challenges. Barely no innovative/ cool magic systems. And Rory is still a repetitive character, with her incessant monologue and very boring romance tropes. What I really do wish very often is for different narrators/ character perspectives. Maybe then I’m wouldn’t be so weighed down and utterly bored of Rory’s thoughts and ramblings, and above all her ‘Treasonous body’.
That said- I’m a trooper and I seriously believe the world in this book has great potential. So I’m going to try to read the next one too. I still very much love that the book has so much happening- so much action and the story runs at a super fast pace. This series is a great palatte cleanser after a heavy and slow lit fic type book.
I must say that the one thing I appreciate about the romance angles is that it hasn’t bought into a ‘one soulmate forever’ trope.
Overall, I love that Rory’s character is such a badass- she’s strong and she’s stealthy and that’s superbly COOL. So here’s to hoping the next one is great🤞🏼
Rory and all of the dragons at the dojo know that Zurie is coming but it doesn't keep them from living and loving. I was happy for Harper and Irena finding their budding romances. Drew and Jace have to deal with their issues. Having so many dominant men to handle is quite a challenge but Rory can see exactly what they need and they are learning her's as well.
This is story of relationships. What and who are you willing to die for? Is there anything you wouldn't do for those you treasure?
Rory and her men are faced with change. A lot of changes.
Read more about the Dragon Dojo Brotherhood in this story. There are great characters that grow as the story unravels, great settings and the all powerful, what will happen next, factor.
Another decent installment, but a lot of it takes so long to get to. Especially since I have already drawn some of the conclusions before I even knew they would happen. But it would take FOEVER to get to that point, when it was somewhat painfully obvious where it was going, but not like in a cheesy way. Just in that I am pretty good at making predictions.
Overall though I still enjoy the book, I did find Jace’s sudden 360° change a bit jarring. Like one minute he’s being an overbearing jerk and the next he’s all ok with sharing…I would have liked to have seen a gradual change.
Also with all the traumatic stuff that Rory has been through and Jace has been through I’d really like some issue moments dealing with stuff like that. I know she’s a badass assassin but maybe now that she’s settling down or leaning on people we can see her trauma start to resurrect so she can truly heal.
Also I get confused during fight scenes sometimes there’s moments where it says that so and so got injured in xyz places but then it’ll re-say it but only say x and z and completely omit y so….was the person not as injured as I was led to believe? So that was somewhat confusing.
Still I enjoyed the book and I’m invested in where this goes. May need to take a break however, but not yet.
I'm a little on the fence here in book 4. On the one hand some major reveals and plot points occur here at the end that finally push us into I guess what you could call the next "Step" in the plot. On the other hand I thought the book started off really slow and there really was alot of down time here. Also I'm starting to get a little frustrated with Rory in general.. sometimes she is such a bad A and other times shes getting her butt whooped constantly. Its so flip floppy kind of gives me whiplash.
Good news though we did get some RnR with our guys and some guys are finally comming around to our way of thinking.. YAY for that. The conflict with Zurie comes to a head in this book and Rory really gets in touch with her dragon!
I really like the series but I'm a little gun shy.. there are so many books to come still and I'm scared this is going to start to drag.. I don't think its happening yet though even if we started off this book a little on the slow side. Maybe I'm a little jaded. Hoping for the best with this next book that comes out this month!
Let's just take a moment of silence for the moment that we all have been waiting for. I love Jace. Jace is my favorite. And finally...finally...we see them both accept the connection, the bond, the attraction that is between them! This book sets it up at the very beginning and I was hungry for the moment it would finally happen! I'm so happy!
Irina...poor Irina. I love her and I want to see more of her. Perhaps even her own spin off series? A girl can dream.
Levi, Drew, and Tucker. Yummy. Delicious. And all things sweet. I adore these characters and even more so in this book. We finally are reaching a point in the series where the bonds are starting to settle and that is my favorite part in a series. Now we get to see them work in tandem together. We see them start growing together. It's going to be beautiful.
I want more of this series. I want it soon! Love this series!
Why did you read this book? I am slowly getting through a few RH series I put on hold.
What format did you read this book in? Read it as an ebook on Kindle.
Is this an educational book or a book for entertainment? I read this book for pure entertainment purposes.
What genres do you think this book belongs to? Fantasy, Romance
What was your favorite part in the book? SPOILERS My favorite part is when Drew admits he is sorry to Jace and Jace makes Drew repeat it.
Who would you suggest this book to? Anyone who likes strong heroine’s, fantasy adventures, and RH light on romance.
What is your general opinion/ rating of this book? This one was okay. I didn’t like this book as much as the others, but it still was a fun read. Jace and Drew were at each other’s throats for most of the book. Their make up was a bit anticlimactic. Irena having to go out and kill her ex-lovers who betrayed her… I feel so bad for her. The reveal that the MC could be more than a vessel but actually a God worries me a bit. The MC is already a strong “Mary Sue,” add “being a God” to the mix and It might be too much. Although the MC dragon for is gorgeously described. I can’t believe Jace has to choose between his dojo and his mate. His replacement was a good one, at least. My least favorite part of the book was the ending action sequence. It was inconsistent! One moment the MC is too injured to move, gets angry and finds strength, then is too injured to move. Rinse and repeat more times than I can count, and you get the ending action scene. Everything seemed a bit forced. It seems like the MC should have died but the author meta-games it to where she somehow survives the whole ordeal. I am not saying I want the MC to die, but I would have liked a better build up to the ending. I am glad that Guy and the MC mentor are dead. BUT WHY DID ERIC HAVE TO DIE!? I am so sad about that. Overall, I enjoyed this story, but not as much as I did the first 3.
Are there any cliché scenes or concepts? (If yes, does the author add something unique to them?) The main character ends up being the chosen one. The author adds her own flare to this troupe by forcing the special magic on the MC. Fated Mates, but the author makes the MC fight the attraction for their own good. Possessive and protective men, author show that the MC can take care of herself and is not damsel in destress.
How intense are the intimacy scenes? The scenes are detailed with little to no kink.
At what “burn” level is the romance? This series is at a medium-low burn.
Love interests, how many of them are there and what gender? Spoilers There are four love interests, all of them male. Jace- A powerful thunderbird dragon, MC fated mate. Drew- A powerful red dragon, son to the boss of one of the most powerful dragon families. Tucker- Son of the General of the Knights, Guns expert, Human. Levi- A blue dragon, working on healing the rift between him and his dragon.

Rory has had enough. Between waiting on her dragon and waiting on Zurie and her multiple armies, the downtime is driving her insane. And Jace still has to step down as dojo master to be able to, finally, claim his mate. Something their dragons are getting frustrated over. But who knew her dragon would fall off a balcony, and that the 3 most bitter enemies would actually band together?
Spoilers ahead. Finally. It took almost 4 books but we finally get Jace and Rory. Watching (no heavy spoilers) take over the dojo, learning just who their allies were, Jace having to relinquish his almighty control and bow, ... There's a lot of moving parts for what seems like a long wait. I feel so bad for some characters. They've been through so much, have come so far, and it feels like fate is being fickle to them. Every time they show character growth the legs get kicked out from under them. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed this series. I'd read it when it first came out and got through the 3 (at the time) available before being distracted by another author wrapping up 3 series in me simultaneously lol. When I realized there were 8 out now, I started a reread campaign to get ready for the newer ones. I've missed strong female characters. Not just fighting, but emotionally strong, strategists, determined characters capable of compromise, adaptation, and growth. This series ticks a lot of boxes for involved and entertaining reading.
Tucker is growing on me. Jace is further cementing the fact that he’s only with Rory because she’s his mate, not really because he likes her. I knew Harper still had something up her sleeve. As nice as she is, she’s still a boss. Wouldn’t Jace be able to tell Rory was near? Interesting that Irena put Rory in a similar position that Jace put Harper in. The author did a good job making the characters multi-dimensional. I’m actually concerned that Tucker may get hurt since he’s human. What is the life expectancy of a dragon? When Levi became human again, it was kind of explained that the dragon and person were two separate entities but when Rory changed she’s still her instead of taking a backseat to her dragon. I’m glad Jace and Drew put everything out there. As long as it took Jace to not be so possessive, it’s hard to believe he’s done a 180. Irena needs to get with the program.
When I first started reading I absolutely loved this series. I fell in love with the characters and the world building. The spice levels were low, but growing as the story developed. FMC was strong and capable and the men were sexy and charismatic.
Then things slowed down. Spicy scenes faded to black and the story became predictable and repetitive. Once Rory built her family, the books switched from a romantic reverse harem fantasy to a YA fantasy that still had the main character in a reverse harem relationship. Zero RH scenes and the story was SUPER predictable.
I didn't end up finishing the series. Maybe I will one day, but it just didn't hold my interest anymore with my TBR ever growing. DNFed sometime during Queen of Dragons - book 7.
I keep waiting for one of these books to let me down. Isn't going to happen! You won't regret losing yourself in this series!
The 4th installment of this series is just as amazing as the three previous books. The authors writing style and the amount of details she writes is the perfect mix to keep you hooked! Again, I love learning more about each of the characters in this series. Rory continues on her journey of being one badass woman with 4 amazing men at her side. I want to read them all so fast, but at the same time I'm torn because I never want this world to end. So stoked to keep reading!
Rory just continues to cement the type of woman she is and what her dragon will be is still unknown. Zurie will not stop. Jace will learn or lose in this book and Drew will have to come clean to stop the hatred between Rory’s claimed men. Tucker has to be disappointed that his father wants to kill him but he chose Rory. Levi a dragon who has returned from feral for the woman he loves. So good this series is and the fighting scenes and realistic and brutal. Can’t wait for the next in this series.
It seemed to take forever but Rory finally shifted! I am so happy that she is a rare dragon. She's still her own person, even in dragon form. And Zurie is no more. Such a relief! I'm sure she has left a few nasty surprises behind but nothing that Rory and her men can't handle. I'm really looking forward to finding out more about Ashgrave. On to the next book in this saga!
This series is an ok read. My only issue is the heroine is fairly lack luster. She’s supposedly been gifted with three God‘s power and yet she just never quite does anything. Other than blow up the occasional rock. Several times she’ll say “she’s had enough!” and yet nothing really happens. It’s frustrating and disappointing to say the least. Definitely not a page turner but a two days thumbs up for a quarantine week.
This series gets better with every book!!! This is an epic journey and such a beautiful story about loyalty, bravery, and best of all, true love!!! Now I’m digging into the next adventure of Rory and her men!!!!
This was a pretty good series. Slow burn and the sex scenes are medium hot at best when they occur. This series is 8 books long and it does have a fairly good plot but it just didn't resonate with me as much as other fantasy series.
It has a great start, a solid middle, and a good ending.
3 🌟 This just didn't do it for me. I really enjoyed the first 2 books, but the cheesy, repetitive dialog really took me out of the story. By the end chapters, I just wanted to be done with it. I just don't know if I feel like attempting the next one. 🤷♀️
Good Book series but honestly a little smutty for my taste but other than that fantastic! I find it a very appealing dragon shifter romance series. Need to read series if your into shifter romance and reverse herem.
Rory is a true fighter ,love that she is a Diamond dragon! Can't wait to read the next books! It's a little sad how everything played out! Good story tho!
I’ve loved the prior Dragon Dojo Brotherhood series books by Olivia Ash. Now, in Age of Dragons, the tale continues. It’s been a total blast as I’ve followed Rory, assassin and now dragon vessel with awesome powers, along her “journey of justice, self-discovery, and freedom”. She’s become just the sort of total kick-a** and take-no-prisoners heroine I adore, and her guys (as this dragon fantasy series is also a reverse harem romance adventure) are powerful and powerfully hot. Fans of this series will be totally satisfied by this installment. For newcomers, while you kinda sorta can start here I strongly urge you to start with book 1 as you’ll be missing some great reading fun if you don’t. As for this book, but for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed, I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
