A world has been deceived, and a war has begun…

America has been invaded and stands isolated, alone, and without allies…

Lines have been drawn; sides have been chosen—brother against sister, father against daughter, parents against their children.

Battles rage from the Midwest to the Great Plains as militia factions form and political frustrations turn to violence.

The UN peacekeepers are hailed as liberators in the Northeast but reviled as invaders in the Upper Midwest.

Four nuclear armed powers wage war. Will the nuclear genie remain in the bottle, or will a desperate America, attacked on all sides, resort to using this devastating weapon to equal the playing field?

As the world descends into chaos, the puppet masters pulling the strings may finally have been exposed. But is it too little, too late? Can the endgame be stopped or is the world careening toward an unimaginable disaster?

Very current history

Well done! Similar to Law & Order. Ripped from the headlines. Hopefully someone in DC is reading this series. Probably not. Thank you for putting this together for us.

Brilliant

I'm loving this series! I can't put the books down. The storyline could be right out of today's headlines. I feel as if I'm reading what could someday happen

This is the third volume of The Falling Empires series and picks up immediately after the preceding book. The series, for those unfamiliar, is the great tragedy of America suffering a second Civil War. This war is a result of one political party trying to “steal” an election with the result of two different people claiming to be president. The UN backs one of the men with its far-flung armies and the US military, for the most part, backs the other. What develops, so far, quite close to a world war. This series is extremely topical in the current political climate and is absolutely thrilling. Forget your party affiliation and just dive into these books with an open mind and a desire to be be entertained. These books will do the trick!

Excellent

Well written and researched and most of all hopefully will never happen. Show once again what good American resolve can do to save a county, when we all work together.

Great series overall as well

OK, much more bang, zoom, book, blackout and on and on and on, with sides beginning to be redrawn. I'll finish the series, but that's because I always finish books no matter how little I see in them.

Let me start off by saying that I am a huge fan of political thrillers. Also, I have read all 5 books in this series. This review applies to the whole series.

With any good political thriller there is a fine line between a believable story and going over the top. Unfortunately, James Rosone crosses that line.

The first book, Rigged, starts off with all of the elements of a good political thriller that was frighteningly prophetic. The book was written in 2018 and the president, called Jonathan Sachs in this series, was an obvious depiction of a toned down Donald Trump. When reelection time comes there is strong and incontrovertible evidence that the election was rigged by forces outside of the United States.

Sound familiar?

President Sachs, after showing the evidence, decides to reject the results of the election to the point where he wants a do-over. Of course, his opponent refuses to accept that. Now a U.N. so-called peacekeeping force, several European countries, China, and even Canada comes to the aid of the challenger to the point of a military invasion of the United States...only China has other motives.

All is good up to that point. Then we have 4 and a half books of military battle after military battle after military battle...repleat with all of the military acronyms and talk that only an experienced Marine might understand. In the process, everything imaginable gets thrown into the story to the point of absurd.

How many times do you need to hear a description of someone's head becoming a red mist of blood and brain matter? How many times do we need to hear that someone, while thinking, "blew out air as if he were blowing a smoke ring?"

Frankly, this series would have worked better as maybe two or three books. We got the message as to how bad the military situation was.

The last book finally got us back to the political thriller with a few more things tossed into the mix.

Mr. Rosone would have benefited by the advise of a good publisher rather than self-publishing.

A fine read that pushes your imagination into so many differing thoughts of "what if". The main problem I had with this installment in the 5 part series is how the authors portray the US Navy as hapless fools who can't seem to get out of their own way. Granted, this is only fiction and therefore liberties are certainly taken away from facts and presented as something that pulls the story along. But to picture the world's most powerful navy as having ships that are just sitting ducks for the UN and China, and are wholly incapable of fighting according to their design just became too much to swallow, even if it is just fiction. I often wondered if the authors had any idea of the true capabilities of Arleigh Burke destroyers, or Virginia class submarines. You just gotta do better writing up a war at sea involving the US Navy. The same could be said of the M1A2 Abrams tank. The authors portray it also as a hapless vessel that cannot take a punch. Much more research would have told you the Abrams is incredibly difficult to kill, yet their burned out carcasses are strewn all over America in this story. And don't get me started on how the enemy magically shoots down nearly everything the US Air Force throws at it. I almost took another star away for this ridiculous portrayal of the US Military, but because it is indeed a fictional story, the imagination can be allowed to take away absolute facts and turn them into something that stretches cognizant knowledge and still manages to create a nice story that is at times, very difficult to put down.

Hard to read... skimmed a LOT

You couldn't tell which side was which when reading one of the war story chapters, unless it included one of the foreign U.N. force members. There should have been a way to designate it whether as part of the heading (Cheyenne, Montana, CDF ## Infantry, ) etc. CDF headquarters, etc.

The majority of chapters were about specific skirmishes ( only a few battle sections covered major battles or events that turned the tide). The "strategy/ status" sections or the "Oh, Man... what I have done" sections were beautifully done. There's so much good reading and plot... About halfway through I started glancing thru a section to see of it was" just" skirmish stuff or there were actually senior officers in it doing strategy stuff. It got pretty easy after a while. And, if I guessed wrong, it got recapped in the strategy/ status section that came up after the 2-3 skirmish sections were done.

The story isn't about Sergeant Miller, Jake, etc... All the little guys... Is about how willing good people are to be sucked into killing each other because social media convinced them to.

Conventionally styled hypothetical civil war novel.

The series was recommended to me by my former EOD commander, Michael Slevin. His son, in the SF currently, read the books and noted an EOD character from Washington State named Al Slevin and thought the similarities were enough to recommend we read it.

The name issue aside, the book is an interesting analysis in fictionalized form of a conventional civil war with external nation states and organizations contributing to the internal conflict. Much of the action is on par with conventional battles, and its to the authors credit that real life information from Ukraine parallels the book in tactics, technical functionality, and outcomes.

However, the book doesn't fully take into account the food supply and control issue that even now is becoming manifest globally in Sri Lanka, Egypy, and elsewhere for example.

So while I would recommend this as an interesting read and fairly accurate considering, it isn't necessarily a full analysis of societal breakdown and the resulting conflict dimensions (PanFaWar).

This Series Just Gets Better and Better!

With the Chinese executing senior citizens and kidnapping young women for transport to China to counter the imbalance of men to women ratio, along with nuking sites in the US and detonating an EMP that takes out the power grid of much of California, the challenge becomes getting the truth out to the people that the so-called UN liberation force is actually a coalition of invaders intent on taking the US down. With AI generated fake videos being disseminated on the internet, the truth is a scarce to nonexistent commodity... As more of this international scam/plot is discovered US forces and the intelligence community begin their work to counter and destroy the immense web of fabrications and outright lies...

This 12.3 hour chapter of the Falling Empires series take off where the second one left off. It just feels like one book that the publishers divided up so it could sell more. There's a lot of combat fluff as CONUS invasions advance and retreat. Most of the book is factual process but some is really impossible. For example, asking NORAD to execute nuclear strikes. Nope! Can't do that. Also, the airy adjectives that describe military facts are pretty bad. Finally, the book just ends; no leadup, no drama...just ends. I like the story, but it's long and more drawn than it needs to be.

Can’t put it down.

Just like the first two books, I read this in about three days. I think the fascinating part about it is that after the REAL 2020 presidential election, the purposes behind the foreign countries desire to get rid of Trump makes a lot of sense. If your a democrat your going to Pooh-Pooh this book. I understand that. But it’s just amazing the coincidences of the book and real life.

3 stars. The overall plot/story doesn't really evolve much. Most of the book consisted of descriptions of a plethora of small unit engagements that eventually became somewhat boring. I'll probably read the next in the series, but if the balance between telling the overall story and the recitation of minor details of minor fights doesn't improve, I'll probably just read a summary somewhere to find out how the series story ends.

This will keep you up

This series has me up reading half the night. With the country in a political struggle right now and an assassination attempt on a former President and Presidential candidate ,this series is almost scary. It leaves you wondering if this could really happen! I definitely recommend reading the full series! The authors definitely take you for a ride through a political war! It’s captivating and one of the best books I’ve ever read!

Marching On

I am amazed but this series just gets better and better with each book. At the end of each book, I can't wait to begin the next in the series. The writing makes you feel that you're right along side the characters in the book. Starting book 4 right after a "bio" break...

Thrilling read.

Book three in the series picks up without a drop in pace. Taking the reader on an all too believable rollercoaster of combat, treacherous dealings and chess like measures and counter measures. As a combat vet I found the battle scenes believable and enthralling. I look forward to the next book in the series.

The story really picks up in this book

The first two books of the series sets the story's foundation. Invasion really ups tempo and draws us back into the story . The combat and the fact that the United states has been invaded makes the book a real page turner and hard to put down. It's a fantastic book but you have to read them in order to understand what is going on.

Far Fetched

Could it happen? I doubt it but these are fun reads. When it comes to what if military scenarios The Falling Empires Series is one of the best. Not sure I am comfortable with our European allies turning against the US but can totally see our competitors in the world exploiting a divided US. Rates up there with Clancy, Bond, and Coyle.

Very hard to put down

I have binge read the 1st 3 books, 2 days ago. Only reason i am stopping now is to do this review. This has to be one of the best series ever. A political thriller and military/prepper series of the best order. Makes you wonder what really happens prior to elections and how much each of our votes really matter. Nuff said just check it out.

The Tide outs Turning...

Or its it? Federal forces battle the UN forces dead set on removing a president who a rigged election. The storyline could have been pulled recent current event headlines.

Read this...and perhaps you'll understand why most people are upset today. Not coming down on either side out the aisle, but I defy you NOT to find a nugget of truth.

The series that just keeps getting better and better! I've always wondered what it would be like of a foreign power invaded our country or what if the country broke out into another civil war? All these curiosities are satisfied with Invasion! Two more books left in the series and then onto The Monroe Doctrine!

Amazing story! I can't wait for the next one. I'm listening to the books on Audible, and the narrator is excellent. All the voices and accents. It draws you in. I can't wait to find out what happens next. The storyline moves from place to place so the reader has a good view of the whole war. One of the best series I've ever listened to.

Invasion

Definitely a riveting story with several vignettes that add to the character of the overall story. The first two were able to slack off the intensity to get you headed the right way,but this one is almost impossible to put down! When is the next one?

This is part three of a long five-part book. It can't really be read as a stand-alone novel. It is about 98% action and 2% plot development, which is a little thin on advancing the plot for my taste, although the action writing is good and it is a page-turner.

Civil war ii

Quite possible that this is at least partially possible in view of Mr Trumps inability to be a good loser. I heard people in a barbershop planning to move to Texas if it seceeded

This book is definitely a “what if” series of events and it is very scary to me as it is paralleling what is happening today in the world! It is very concerning to me the people we have running our country. Just how trustworthy are they? Makes one think!
