This was an ok read. Even at just over 200 pages it flew by like a novella. Everything goes at warp speed especially the relationship aspect. The heroine is a botanist on the hunt for a special plant she hopes can cure her young niece from dying of a rare form of cancer. Luck was not on her side that day and her plane crashes. Bright side is she lands on the island she was looking for and it comes with it’s own 3 shipwrecked men who’ve been stuck for about a year. She actually has to help save one of their lives which I thought was pretty cool as they all brought their own useful skill sets that kept them alive. Because everything rushes by we’re to assume they’ve bonded over the weeks and months they are all stuck together. Personally it felt more like their relationship was just the sharing of bodies and wasting of time more than anything else. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Either way I’m a sucker for any tropical island and volunteer myself as tribute to be stranded so long as it too comes with hunky men who can keep me alive!

I was really looking forward to this one. The precis sounded perfect for a super steamy romance. Unfortunately, the author fell into the same trap that some menage/reverse harem writers do, which is that more partners is automatically sexy enough that the actual sex isn't important.

description

I kid you not, every sex scene in this book goes like this:

Man puts finger down Rose's pants
He comments on how wet Rose is
Rose says "Please"
Dude takes off pants and inserts his piece
About a paragraph of thrusting
Double orgasm

description

And the super cringy "I love her" after knowing Rose three days and banging her twice.

description

I'll never understand why some romance authors insist on putting in these too-soon 'I love you's. As if the characters have to love each other if they're going to engage in some nasty horizontal mambo time. Sometimes a girl just wants to get laid.

description

Honestly, whenever this happens, I automatically assume the book was written by a man who believes in that cliche that women have to have a relationship and/or feelings in order to have good sex.

Listen, three men get stuck on a deserted island for a year and want to share the first chick they come across:

description

A woman escapes fiery death in a plane crash, ends up on a deserted island, and wants to bang all the dudes there:

description

Forcing 'I love you's and over-the-top emotions between the characters to justify all the banging when none of them have had an actual conversation:

description

If you're looking for some character development or steamy scenes, you're just not going to find it here. It's a quick read, and not hard to get through, but there's just nothing to it.

This is a reverse harem romance with a twist. Gunner, Finn, Jamison and Rose will set your Kindle on fire. Set in paradise that's become a prison in some ways. A vacation in paradise that went astray. After a year, search parties wrote the three guys off for dead and then Rose'splane crashes on the island. Lots of drama, some suspense and chemistry that's off the charts. This was a well written steamy book that will get your juices flowing. I read an arc via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review,

Three best friends Finn, Gunner and Jamison go away on vacation together as the three men have grown up together but due to work and their lives, they had lost touch with each other. Finn is a Vet, Gunner joined the Marines and Jamison went to Hollywood and became a star. Jamison paid for their vacation to Bora Bora and then rented a boat to relax on the ocean. But a storm came out of nowhere and they were shipwrecked on a deserted island.

Search parties had been searching for them for a long time, but after over a year, people assume they are dead. Then they are surprised when a plane crash lands on the island and only one person survived, a woman named Rose. She was travelling to the island looking for a plant that was said to be successful in treating cancer. Her niece has a rare form of leukaemia that Rose is sure this plant will heal.

When she discovers she is stranded with the three missing men, she realises that she might never see her niece again. They face many challenges, one being trying to keep Jamison alive. He is near death when she crashes to the island. They all develop feelings for each other and embark on a relationship they know they wouldn’t have done in their normal lives. Join Rose and her me as they battle the wildness of the island and the dangers of the ocean and live in hope of one day being rescued. You won’t be disappointed.

The ultimate desert island romance

This book is sheer fantasy. It's the queen of the "stranded on a desert island" erotic fantasies, and although I'm reviewing an ARC, my plan is to purchase this book. I'm gonna have the staycation of a lifetime the summer, and this book will be a starring attraction. Cool drinks with little umbrellas, a comfy lounge chair, a shade canopy, the hot summer sunshine, and the steamiest, sexiest, sweetest menage/reverse harem romance I've ever read.... In my imagination, I'll be Rose, plane crash survivor marooned on a tropical island with Finn, Gunner, and Jamison. Whew! Three of the hottest men - one movie star, one he-man Marine, and one sexy smart veterinarian - all focused on pleasing me!! And the love... And the feels.... And the HEA... Wrecked has it all.

What wouldn't most women give to be on a romantic island with three handsome alpha males? Well, Rose didn't have a choice when the plane she was in crashed on the deserted island where Jamison, Gunter and Finn had been marooned for over a year after their boat was destroyed in a storm. Sometimes unforeseen circumstances shows you what you were missing. For the four of them, they thought family were those they left behind when they were stranded on the island but they found that family was what the four of them discovered when they found themselves stranded on the island. Is the perfect life they found together something that would survive in the "real world" and would they ever get the opportunity to find out? Get this book to find out! This was a quick and easy read and one that I hope you will find as entertaining as I did.

I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.

I'm participating in a challenge where you can get big bonus points if you read a book set on a deserted island so of course, I'm going to try to read as many of those as I can in the next few weeks ;). Wrecked is the first one and it's actually a short reverse harem romance about a woman (looking for a very rare plant to try to help her niece) crashing down on an island where Jamison (a famous actor) and his two best friends Gunner (ex marine) and Finn (a guy who blames Jamison for being there for 1+ year while his mother has cancer). The plot is very quick, the sex scenes happens quickly and could have been a bit better imo, the love declarations felt a bit unbelievable but honestly, this was just a fun quick read and I went with the flow so even though I'm not giving it a high rating, I'm not mad that I read this book!

For a relatively short, stranded-on-a-deserted-island romance, this one was above average. The plot was absolutely ridiculous (the shark attack most of all), but there was a plot, and some character development. It wasn't all just sex. In fact, the book could have used a little bit more sex, or at least more in depth scenes, and more about the characters emotional POVs. Still, for what it is, I was pleasantly surprised.

Imagine being stranded on a deserted island with little hope of rescue. How could you handle it? The three friends discover it is not easy. What happens when they are joined by Rose whose plane crashes onto their island. How do they all cope and will they ever get home?

This is an excellent and well written story which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Wow! What a great story! I thought I knew where this story was going when I started reading it - but I was wrong, in the very best way. The chemistry between the characters is off the charts hot. You get to know each character and you can see why the relationship is so easy between everyone. The author was able to dig deep into the feelings and mind set of the characters, both on the island and in their everyday lives. The drama, adventure, danger, humor and romance drive the story to a satisfying, emotional and happy ending.
If you are a fan of reverse harem books, this story is for you. The sexy scenes are great and the characters are well written, which made it hard to put down until the end of the book. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am definitely going to check out her other books.

Downloaded from BookSprout. I received this book free from the author for my honest review. Since I rely heavily on reviews to make decisions about purchases, I will never lie or over-exaggerate my opinion. There is nothing worse than seeing a bunch of 5 star reviews and realizing the book is full of errors or just plain bad and not worth my hard earned money!

Let me start by saying, READ THE BLURB!
If you are not into what is described there or have an aversion to it, do NOT read this book.
If you are able to go in open-minded, this book is steamy and amazing and you are sure to end up with a smile on your face when all is said and done.

I loved everything about it - the characters, the plot, the emotion, the writing, and the ability that the author had to tell me a story that had me wanting this book to go on and on.

I received a copy of this book. This review was posted voluntarily.

Wrecked by A.J. Snyder a five-star read you would take to a desert island. Oh my goodness this has some drama and the heat comes from everywhere, honestly I thought it was going to be your typical reverse harem story, but it was so much more. Gunner, Finn and Jamison have their own story to tell, but when you throw Rose into the ix it just becomes explosive. If you like this genre then pick this story up, as you don’t want to miss it.

Spoilers may be included.

I really enjoyed this book. I especially liked how realistic it was after they were rescued. I liked Rose the best, but Finn, Gunnar, and Jamison are such amazing Alphas. Each has their own personality and are distinctly separate people. I liked how they all bonded with Rose in different ways. Honestly this book was very well done and very well written.

I love novels with a stranded / survival aspect. And while Ive read MFM stories, this is the first reverse harem romance that I’ve picked up. I figured that the relatively short length and the stranded aspect was an awesome way to introduce myself to reverse harem. Unfortunately, I could not stand Rose (the FMC).

All 3 of the main male characters were fine, Finn in particular was my favourite but I feel like it was very clear that he came last to Rose. There was a little mention of their bond over sick family members, but I thought it was so clear that Jamison was 100% her first choice, followed by Gunner (mostly because she was obsessed with the size of him), and then Finn.

Since this is my first reverse harem novel, I don’t know how the dynamic is normally developed. But I did not expect her to just secretly sleep with the guys one by one and not ever say anything about it, just let them find out on their own and figure out what to do on their own. I didn’t like that. Also, every sex scene, regardless of how many men were involved, was almost identical. I saw another review mention this and she had it right - Rose gets touched, told how wet she is, she says please, they have sex until she cums and then he (or they) finishes on her.

For a while, this was just fine, and Rose was just fine. Then once she was officially with them all, one of her chapters ends with “I just know I love the here and now, and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world.” Really?? I get it, you’re happy to have 3 men obsessed with you and your pleasure, but you’re literally stranded while loved ones are dying back home, and you could die on the island so fast (one of them almost did!) and you wouldn’t change anything?!

2 stars for the survival aspect + the multiple POVs were nice.

Holy crazy balls of hotness! If I ever get stuck on a desert island I totally hope there are 3 HAF men to take care of me! Damn this was some hotness! The only thing that kept this from being 5 star was mostly that I didn't feel a whole lot of emotion out of any of them. Like the loneliness they all felt once they were separated. It was stated but I didn't really feel it. I also think it would have been a whole lot hotter if the voyeuristic aspect was played up a bit more. (but I am a bit of a freak like that)

Rating and Review

Rating: 3 Stars

I would consider this to be a steamy and low-angst escapism read. Despite the fact that the characters spend the majority of the book stranded on a deserted island—the MMC’s due to a shipwreck and the FMC a plane crash—there isn’t any fighting for survival angst à la Lost.

In truth, I found the plot devices to be contrived; they served their purpose, but they had the structural integrity of a limp noodle.
Example of weak plot device: The FMC’s niece having cancer is the plot device that leads her to being stranded on the island with the MMCs. But once she’s on the island and hooking up with the guys, the FMC basically shrugs her shoulders and is like “why stress about my niece dying when I can’t do anything about it? I might as well make the best out of my situation.” Excuse me, but where was this mindset when she realized her niece was dying? Because instead of accepting there was nothing she could do to save her niece, and spending however much time she had left with her, she leaves on a wild goose chase.

The last 20% takes place after they’ve been rescued, and let’s just say that it didn’t make sense to me. Why were they separated? How had they lost complete touch? Even though Jamison was the only famous one, I find it hard to believe that the other three wouldn’t have made the news as well, which would have given them updates on each other. The four of them living on an island together seems like a perfect ending until you consider that: Finn would have to quit his veterinary practice because how is he going to see/receive animal patients when you need a boat to get to the island; Rose moves over 2,000 miles away from her niece who is still battling cancer; also how can Jamison afford to buy a house on a private island when he hasn’t worked in over a year and probably won’t be working for a while? I know he’s an extremely famous actor, but is he also a billionaire?

Basically, this isn’t the most realistic story, so if you’re the type of reader who struggles to hold your disbelief, this might not be for you. But if you can, like I said earlier, this makes a great escapism read.

Shipwrecked. Stranded on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.

After a year of isolation, Gunner, Finn and Jamison never expected to be rescued.

And they certainly never expected a beautiful woman to crash-land into their lonely existence.

Rose is the only ray of light in their dark storm, and they’ll do anything to protect her.

But can the four of them survive without becoming completely wrecked?

••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.5 stars—WRECKED by AJ Snyder is a contemporary, adult, erotic, reverse harem story line focusing three friends (Gunner Mattock, Finn, Jamison McAllister) shipwrecked on a deserted island, and the woman (Rose) who would save them all.

Told from four first person perspectives (Gunner, Finn, Jamison, Rose) WRECKED follows in the aftermath of a storm at sea resulting in best friends Marine Gunner, veterinarian Finn, and actor Jamison shipwrecked on a deserted island. One year would pass, and another accident would see Jamison fighting for his life. But all hopes for a rescue are destroyed when a plane crashes on their island home, and our trio find themselves facing a possible future with a woman with whom they would all soon fall in love. Enter botanist Rose, a woman on the search for a miracle plant that just might save the life of someone she loves. What ensues is Rose’s fight to save Jamison’s life, and the building relationship and romance between Rose and the three best friends.

WRECKED is a story of friendship, loss, regret and love. The sexual relationship between the characters is quick to develop; Rose is immediately drawn to all three men never once having to choose between one or the others. The fast paced premise is entertaining; the characters are energetic; the romance is erotic, passionate and intense.

It is a fantastic read!!!
Gunner, Finn and Jamison find themselves stranded on a tropical island. For a year they have tried to escape or look for a rescue but nothing is going right. Jamison has stepped on a thorn and it has got infected and they can't stop the infection or the fever. Gunner and Finn know that he doesn't have long they need help now. Then while Finn and Gunner are out trying to catch some fish for dinner they see a plane. But its coming down too fast and nose down, no one will survive this crash.
Rose will do anything to save her niece from leukaemia and if traveling to a tropical island to find a rare plant that might be able to help her, she would do it!! But things go bad when her plane goes down after her pilot has a heart attack. shockingly she survives only to come face to face with 2 men who look like animals. Then she blacks out. When she wakes she finds herself on a makeshift bed with another man in another bed who looks like death warmed up. She goes off to find some roots and plants to make a medicine to help with the infection and fever. Once she gets to know the men she starts to have feelings and things get physical after all if they have been stranded here for a year no one was coming for them. But she doesn't pick one of the men, it isn't long before all 3 are having Rose time wink wink.
There are so many twist and turns in this book and its a really emotional book. They have all lost something/someone and then not knowing about how their families are coping without them and the not knowing if they are alive or dead. It really chocked me up at time. Each character had their own personalities and problems. It is a fantastic read!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! (SOME SPOILERS!)

I read it in one sitting - roughly 4 hrs (+/-).

**mild spoilers**

Ok, moving on...

The storyline played out at a decent speed, but I had wished that the author had given us something about how it went after they were back home & together. It just stopped at the house & then restarted & ended with an adorable proposal in the same spot a year later... and that was it. We didn’t get any of the ways in which they made it work. What happened to each of them personally. Did they still work? What happened with Finn’s practice? What about J’s acting career? Did he continue with new agents/managers, or did he choose to retire & do something else? If so, what? What about Gunner? Does he work at all or no? There was all these activities & life changes being made, but zero sharing how they made their new life work. I didn’t see a sequel (I looked) & I feel so.... cheated! Haha I mean, what was it like in the beginning? Where did they get married? What did their families (what little they had) think of everything (not that it matters, but still... I’m nosy), or do they not know? If they don’t, how will they keep it that way when they’re all married? Lol So, while I really would’ve loved to hear more about how they made their life together in the real world, I still loved the book - so much so I was hoping for another 100+ or so pages of Jamison, Gunner, Finn and kRose. HA! The plot was compelling & sucked me in, hook, line & sinker, from the first few pages. It’s a solid 5 stars from me!
I would love to read an “after the hea” novella on these guys. 😂 *wink-wink*

Jamison is always pushing the boundaries when it comes to their next adventure. An A list movie star, money’s no object when he and his two childhood best friends Finn and Gunner get together. This time things don’t work out as planned when they take a catamaran out and get caught in a bad storm. They hit the headlines but nobody found them.
When her niece is battling cancer and all treatments have been exhausted, botanist Rose decides to go and find a rare plant which has miraculous results for people in the past. She has no exact location but has a rough idea where to start her journey. Unfortunately her plans go pear shaped when her elderly pilot suffers a heart attack mid flight. She spots an island and helps him turn towards it where they crash land. When she comes to, she finds herself on a beautiful island with three beautiful men. Jamison she recognises when he tells her his name and she remembers that the movie star and his friends were lost at sea a year ago. He’s suffering from an infection that looks set to kill him so she goes hunting for plants that she hopes will save his life. Whilst his fever rages, her feelings for the other two men become stronger and vice versa. They are attracted to each other but can she have more than one of them? She doesn’t think she can choose between them. This is a well written reverse harem story with a great plot, interesting characters, lots of steam and a HEA. Loved it.
