Rayna doesn’t have the time or energy for sex. Between working full-time as a dental hygienist, caring for her teenage kids, and trying to keep up with the housework, she’s exhausted by the end of the day. Still, she can’t stop herself from fantasizing about her hunky next-door neighbor. Though Rayna hasn’t been intimate with anyone since she kicked out her sleazy ex-husband, she has no trouble imagining what it would be like to be fucked by the powerfully-built younger man.
Simon, or Coach as everyone calls him, runs a gym, and he looks it. He’s massive and muscular, with shoulders that could carry an ox and thighs like tree trunks. Of course, Coach couldn’t possibly be interested in a frumpy single mother ten years older than he is, but Rayna finds it fun to dream.
Coach was attracted to the pretty, competent woman in the next house from the moment he moved in to his place, three years before. If she were any other female, he would have had her in his bed, or hanging in bondage from his basement ceiling, long ago. With Rayna, he has held himself back, out of friendship, respect, and a sense that she’s out of his league. She might be frightened by his dominance. She might despise him for it. In any case, she doesn’t seem like a woman who’d engage in casual sex, and that’s the only kind Coach ever has. He makes it completely clear to his many girlfriends that their sexual interactions will never be more than recreation. That’s all that Coach wants—or feels that he deserves.
Then one warm summer Saturday, he catches her watching him as he mows his lawn. He offers an invitation that both understand will involve sex. To his surprise and delight, she accepts. During their first encounter, he drops his guard enough to let her know she’s dealing with a man who likes to be in charge and to play rough. Instead of running away, she’s open and yielding, eager to have him lead her along new paths of pleasure.
The more time they spend together, the more they both realize their connection goes beyond the physical. Still, each of them feels unsure about the possibility of a deeper relationship. Rayna is certain he’ll tire of her as he has of all his other women. Coach worries that she’ll be terrified or disgusted if he fully reveals the hungry cruelty of his “inner demon”. It takes a near-fatal intervention by someone from Coach’s past to convince them that they must be together, regardless of the obstacles.
I really enjoyed this book, the first work I’ve read by Pebbles Lacasse and one of the most realistic romance novels I’ve met. The book brims with genuine emotion as well as erotic heat. The characters are complex and multi-layered, with believable flaws and idiosyncracies. The barriers to Rayna’s and Coach’s relationship are real, not some flimsy excuse for keeping the couple apart until the HEA. Indeed, even the happy ending is nuanced, hinting at the challenges that lie ahead for Coach and Rayna as they commit to one another. Strong as their love may be, it doesn’t erase either Rayna’s or Coach’s psychological scars.
Relationships are difficult. People harbor misconceptions about what their partners want and believe. Ms. Lacasse has captured these truths, with great insight.
The erotic scenes in Coaching Rayna are fantastic. The mood swings from desperate intensity to deep tenderness to borderline silliness, just like in real-life sex. Despite Coach’s sexual prowess, he’s not a superman. Meanwhile, Rayna’s willingness to experiment clashes with her self-image as inexperienced and unattractive. Some readers might object to the nearly instant sexual connection between them, particularly the power exchange dynamic that takes over from their very first encounter. However, I can attest to the fact that this sort of sudden, overwhelming interlock of fantasies and desires really does occur. It happened to me.
Maybe that’s why I liked Coaching Rayna so much: it woke echoes of my own initiation into dominance and submission.
Unfortunately, this novel did not receive the level of editing that it deserves. I was distracted by errors in word usage and grammar. Some of the dialogue felt stilted, and some of the sentences were awkward and overly long. I’m probably over-sensitive to this sort of issue because of my own work as an editor, but these problems did reduce my enjoyment a bit. I hope that for her next book, Ms. Lacasse finds more competent editing help.
Given my experience with this novel, I’m looking forward to that next title.

This was my first read by Pebbles Lacasse and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Although the sex scenes were a bit rough for me personally, they were smoking hot. Rayna was a likeable and believable heroine. I don't read a lot of books with heroines who already have kids so this was refreshing to me. As for Coach, this guy is super intense. He's super into Rayna but what I didn't like about him was that he constantly kept thinking Rayna had "too much baggage." Really? At least she's trying to move on from her deadbeat cheating husband. Anyway, I thought this was a pretty good read and now I'm intrigued Lacasse's work.

Rayna, a divorced mother of two, has been lusting after her much younger neighbor, Simon (Coach), ever since he moved in 3 years ago. Unbeknownst to her, Coach has been lusting after her, too. Then one night the attraction boils over and the two finally work out all the tension between them. Unfortunately, Coach is a dominant man who enjoys rough sex, and Rayna has never even thought about anything other than the most vanilla of vanilla bedroom antics. Can these two make it work when he doesn't think he's good enough for her and she isn't sure she can go along with all the kinky stuff he likes, demands, in the bedroom?
I was excited about Coaching Rayna after reading the blurb, unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. For one, Coach's thoughts, and the way he treats women, is pretty douchey. He was marginally better with Rayna than he was with other women, but still, his thoughts, and the way he talked about women were horrible. Rayna was a little better, but she wasn't that much more interesting or developed than Coach was. I do like that she was a great mother, but that's about it. I'd guess really the only reason I can even give this 3 stars is because it's pretty hot and I definitely did not see the action/mystery part coming.

OMG! Spicy, Mysterious, twist and turns!! These are just some of the words that come to mind after reading Pebbles Lacasse' book, Coaching Rayna (Book 1, Second Edition). This was my introduction reading Author Pebbles Lacasse and I can guarantee it will not be my last! Do yourself a favor and pick this one up if you are looking for a great read!

This was my first read from this author. I loved the first person point of view, which is always a deal breaker for me. I really loved the story, however, because I saw a few reviews saying, that sex scenes for too much for some, here's the preview.

I am torn about the review for this book. I greatly liked the premise: a hot fitness trainer (Simon/Coach) & a mature sexy single mom (Rayna). He likes dominating rough sex & she's vanilla all the way. He's had more sexual partners than he can count (which he shares with his best friend in threesomes) & she hasn't had sexual relations since she divorced her husband 4 years earlier. They have been next door neighbors for 3 years & Rayna has been eyeballing him the entire time.
Suddenly, one night things explode between them & they both want more of the other.
The problem is, he doesn't thing he's good enough for her, that she sees him as a short fling & she doesn't think she is sexually alluring or experimental enough to keep his interest. She is also 10 years his senior & has 2 children.
As Coach & Rayna embark on being together, Coach slowly introduces Rayna to his 'inner demon' of rough sexual domination. He craves & needs it but is reining himself in to avoid frightening a woman to whom he is worried he is losing his closed off heart & emotions.
The majority of the book goes back & forth between both their POV's, letting the reader in on just how insecure they both are regarding a potential permanent relationship. There is OW/OM drama that rachets the tension up & ultimately a frightening climax that brings danger & causes both Rayna & Coach to examine their feelings for each other.
I really liked Coach & I liked Rayna-- most of the time. I didn't care for some of Rayna's thought processes (but that is just my reaction, not a statement about the writing). I liked the 2 children but I really didn't like Rayna's sister Renee: she confesses to something I personally would not forgive, sister or not, & then Renee attempts to commit the same repulsive act a 2nd time. AND, sister or not, do not call me 'b*tch' (again, my reaction).
I didn't want to skip any parts & the tense climax was good & in the situation seemed plausible. Overall, I thought the writing was good although I truly feel several things that came out of Coach's mouth did not sound like anything I'd imagine a man would say. I did enjoy the premise very much & I was hoping the H/h would get a HEA.

This book was so good. Rayna sitting outside fantasizing about her younger next door neighbor had me feeling like I was sitting there with her enjoying the view.
Then what happens next was one of those moments I was glad I wasn't reading around other people because that was an invitation I don't think I would have turned down.
Coach is a young, attractive guy who likes his sex with a kink. Rayna being a divorced single mother don't know what she's in for.
Then you have the twist. Sure there is a lot of sex but that twist was not what I was expecting. I read this one in one sitting because I can admit I was addicted. Vivid writing, characters who demand your attention and a great ending. What more could you ask for?

I generally don't expect a lot of emotional involvement in erotica, but I have to say this book brought it all to the table. While the scenes are s.t.e.a.m.y and I had to reread some of them a few times, the story brings a really decent level of emotion with it. There's love and suspense and whodunnit and a bit of fear too, (for the well being of the main character) and there are things that made me cringe at the mere thought but other things that were just straight up hot. As a single parent who finds dating pretty much impossible, I could really relate to the struggles of trying to start a relationship without the kids finding out or getting attached and I thought that element of the story was handled really well. I thoroughly enjoyed the characters, fell for Coach in a big way, and totally wish I had hot neighbours and a lawn that needs mowing.

She and her children have bought their own house and have made a happy life for themselves. But, secretly Rayna watches her well-built neighbor, Coach, while he mows his lawn. Unbeknownst to Rayna, Coach is just as fascinated by the appealing, competent woman who has been reading the same book for three years.
I love the way these two totally different individuals find a way to discover the appeal and beauty hidden within each other. Coach is a dominant alpha male, who enjoys his sex rough and kinky. Yet, for some reason he is deeply attracted to the quiet, serious woman next door. The developing romance between these two characters is hot, erotic and completely enthralling.
This story was fantastic and thoroughly enjoyable. More, please!

I liked the older woman/younger man trope. Rayna is a single mother who lives next door to Simon (aka Coach). They have noticed each other over the years but have never acted on their interest until one afternoon when they admit to spying on each other. What follows are some hot, sexy times but neither are sure if it will be long term - Rayna because she is an older woman with 2 teenagers and Coach because he has a dark kinky side. (Personally, I didn't think his kink was that dark. Maybe because I have read darker books than this). But a life altering event happens that makes them reevaluate their choices. Coach's reactions didn't seem quite in character, but maybe he was more in touch with his "feminine side" than I had anticipated.

Now looking at the cover and title you may think this book is going to be one way, but you would be so wrong. Yes, there is heat, but you have a real bitch and two hateful scumbags that make this book so engaging that you cannot put it down. There is also the fact that anyone has been a single parent they will know just how Rayna feels. I raised three boys on my own and that part of the book was so right on the writer either is a single parent or knows someone who is. I am so so about the ending. I do not think the punishment fit the crime, but the tuxedo part was so good. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.

Hot, erotic, fall head over heels early into the first few chapters of this book. Then, delve deeper into the two very different lives of the main characters, Rayna and Coach. She is a vanilla single mom, while he is the jock stock of the town as a personal trainer with a dark secret double life. Yet they are neighbors with a mutual attraction budding into romance and a bond that is so deep they overcome all the reasons standing in their way.
I enjoyed the pace of the narration. Neither too stretched out or choppy.

This was a great story of an older woman and younger man. Rayna is a divorced mother of two and best way to describe her is vanilla. Coach (Simon) is her not younger neighbor who she has fantasies about. He is definitely not vanilla. He enjoys rough dominating sex and wants it with Rayna. Great story with an interesting twist!!!!!! New to this author. But thoroughly enjoyed this book and looking forward to more.

This is an older woman, younger man romance. Coach is 10 years younger then Rayna, single, runs a gym and has woman falling all over him. He’s dominant and has a very kinky side sadistic side to him. Rayna is divorced with two children and an asshole ex. She is his next door neighbor and has lusted after Coach for 3 years and vice versa. They finally act on their attraction and it doesn’t take long for stronger feelings for develop. Some very suspenseful moments.

Take a fitness coach who's into dominance and more than a bit of sadism and let him fall for the MILF next door, who's never done any of it and what happens? They meet in the middle, of course.
Told from both points of view, this is a very satisfying read, even if you're not especially interested in BDSM. It would be unfair to class it as 50 Shades without the billions, because it's much better than that. Both characters are believable, for one thing. And the sex is more about the sex, whether rough or gentle and there's some of both.

First thing Rayna was to forgiving seriously doesn’t matter when or who but what her sister did was BS!
I absolutely loved the book, it’s my first time reading this author and it definitely won’t be my last. The characters were awesome, Coach and Rayna were perfect and the kids as well. I loved the storyline it was well written.

I enjoyed the story of Rayna, a divorced mother of two, who is lonely and is lusting after her much younger hot neighbor. Coach her younger neighbor has noticed her as well and invites her over one day. What will happen when a vanilla woman gets together with a much younger dominating and much wilder in sexual encounters.

A well written older woman younger man story. It is full of drama, angst, suspense, jealousy, and hot sex. Rayna is a divorced mother. Coach is a young, attractive guy who likes his sex with a kink. They have been secretly lusting over each other for over three years as neighbors. A very intense story with extreme jealousy as these two oppisites unite.

An enjoyable single older mom/younger man romance read with a side of BSDM that heated up as each hot encounter. The storyline had it all suspense, drama and gosh the loving was off the hook delicious. My first read by the author and it didn’t disappoint. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy of this book.

The first book by this Author that I have read and it is a very intense story, it kept my attention throughout. This is more than a little slap and tickle. This deals with feelings, side effects of divorce, dating again and extreme jealousy. More than you think and it is good.

If you enjoy a good steamy Older woman/younger man romance then you are really going to enjoy Rayna and Coach/Simon book. This was a really good steamy read and I really enjoyed it it was my first read from Pebbles and it won't be my last. It was well written with good characters

I like this story It is well written and quite and engaging read. It keeps me turning pages and sparks the imagination of the reader as they journey through their relationship with amorous scenes and challenging scenarios as the plot unveiled.
