Daisy James loves writing stories with strong heroines and swift-flowing plot-lines. She especially likes to create sunshine-filled settings in exotic locations - the Caribbean, Tuscany, Cornwall, Provence - so she can spend her time envisioning her characters enjoying the fabulous scenery and sampling the local food and drink.

When not scribbling away in her peppermint-and-green summerhouse (garden shed), she spends her time sifting flour and sprinkling sugar and edible glitter. She loves gossiping with friends over a glass of something fizzy or indulging in a spot of afternoon tea - china plates and teacups are a must.

A sweet story filled with charm, humor, romance, Drama, and Mystery. This is the first book in a brand new series by Daisy James and I think it is off to a brilliant start. Lexie finds herself jobless and loveless after a catastrophe at a runway event she is in charge of and then catches her fiancé at dinner with another woman. Not wanting to deal with the aftermath Lexie high tails it home to Cornwall. In Cornwall Lexie finds herself helping out her friend Freya by planning a Caribbean wedding. Sounds simple enough, she plans big events all the time, the thing is she doesn’t usually plan events when somebody is trying to sabotage them. A stained bridesmaid dress, missing shoes, googly eyes, a duvet used as a painters canvas. Will this couple ever make it to I do? And will Lexie figure out who is trying to ruin this wedding?

Lexie was a likable and relatable character. There were so many times in the story I found myself wanting to sit down with her and give her some advice over some of the yummy food described in the book. Theo the love interest was such a good guy with a big heart, I really appreciated how down to earth he was. I really enjoyed all the wedding planning and the little details that went into this crazy wedding. It sounded both fun and over the top. I also was completely sucked into the drama of these families. A delightful story that warmed my heart. Cannot wait to see what’s next in the series.

5☆ A Heart Warming, Fun, Witty, Rom Com. Perfect Anytime Read!

Lexi has just been fired from the job she adores most of all after a mishap at a fashion event involving an ice bucket challenge and a very expensive one off designer item.
But to add salt to the wound on the same night she caught her fiancé Elliot cheating on her with another women just 3 weeks before their wedding!.

Not knowing what to do, she calls her best friend Freya.
They have been friends since the age of six.

Freya owns The Cornish Confetti Agency and she needs a huge favour, she's short a wedding planner and Lexi needs a distraction, so she asks Lexi to come and help out at Blissful Brides in Pengarth.
She knows Lexi has lots of experience with organising high profile events, so this will be easy....right?

Freya & her brother Jasper have made it their mission to take Lexi's mind off Elliot and reintroduce her back into the dating scene whether she wants to or not lol Starting with the very handsome Theo Barker, a journalist/photographer/wedding columnist at the Bristol Gazette who just so happens to be writing about Lexi's first wedding clients.

But can Lexi put her past behind her and find true love or will the wedding season put her off love for good?

I absolutely loved The Cornish Confetti Agency it's exactly what I needed right now, fun, witty banter, lots of drama, quirky characters, plenty of laugh out loud moments, Romance and a light hearted, warm and cosy plot.
I mean who doesn't love a good wedding season Romance.
This is the first book in a new series by the Amazingly Talented Daisy James and I am so excited for the next installment.
Another Gem!

My first blog tour, many years ago, was for one of this author’s previous books, so when I had the opportunity to be part of this blog tour, I knew it was going to be a definite yes! The Cornish Confetti Agency looks and sounds absolutely delightful. The cover fills you with warmth from the blue skies and sea, and the blurb certainly sounds fun! Lexi is a great character, fleeing to her home town of St Ives in Cornwall to help run the Cornish Confetti Agency with her best friend. She’s definitely had her run of bad luck, and if she thought heading back home was going to be different than she was very much mistaken! I loved the storyline of helping to organise a Caribbean themed wedding but as you know, weddings never run smoothly and there were many disasters, tantrums and even sabotage to contend with!!

The book grabbed me right from the very beginning. The story was light, fun and easy to read, keeping you hooked with interesting characters, a fast-paced storyline and more images of food and drink than you could cope with!! As usual with wedding stories, there are plenty of things to go wrong, and when the wedding looks like its being sabotaged, it’s down to Lexi and local journalist, Theo, to try and work out who is behind it all! Of course, there is also a romantic theme, and Theo fits nicely into the category of possible love interest for the unlucky Lexi!

Set in my favourite part of the country, this book had such a feel-good factor to it! I’ve smiled and giggled my way through each chapter and the Cornish Confetti Agency has proved to be a great place to escape to!! As it’s the first book in the series, there will be plenty more of the story to come in the next book, Summer at the Cornish Confetti Agency, which will be released in June. I can’t wait for the story to continue and would definitely recommend this book if you are on the look-out for a fun filled romantic comedy!

What a treat of a book this is. Enjoyable and made me smile from the first page to the last.

I was catapulted into Lexie Harrington's rather calamitous life, and it sure did make for an entertaining story.

Nothing seems to go smoothly for Lexie, nor those around her, as she tries to escape her recent heartbreak by fleeing to Cornwall and helping out the Cornish Confetti Agency on a rather fabulous sounding Caribbean themed wedding.

It soon becomes apparent that someone is trying low levels of sabotage but I'll leave you to find out for yourself who is doing it and who the targets are. It's a fun taking on amateur sleuthing as Lexie and Theo (the local journalist), team up to try to investigate, while making sure the wedding stays on track and goes ahead as planned.

I loved the descriptions of the wedding, how the venues were to be decorated, I enjoyed seeing just ideas Nadia, the groom's mother would make next, as nothing seemed to be up to her standards I loved the interactions between the guests, and also the clear initial connection between Lexie and Theo and found myself willing them to act on it.

If you are a fan of books featuring weddings, light mystery elements, plenty of fun to keep you smiling and generally a good upbeat feel to a story, then this is certainly the book for you. And most excitingly of all, it's the first book of a new series, so I can't wait to see how the series progresses from here.

Thank you to the author for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

Let me start by saying that I really enjoyed this story. It is classified as a rom-com, but it has humor, romance, drama, and even a bit of a mystery, which is something I have not come across in Daisy James' books before. This is the first book in a new series and I am looking forward to seeing what is next for this wonderful group of characters. Lexie opens the story by planning an extravagant catwalk fashion show, that ends in a catastophe. Finding herself fired, she skulks home, only to catch her fiancé at dinner with another woman, and it is pretty cozy. Pulling her normal ostrich routine, instead of dealing with either issue, she hightails it home to Cornwall. It turns out that her best friend Freya needs her help with a wedding so, Lexie jumps in to help, with some surprising results.

Lexie is a likable and relatable character, but also frustrating when you watch her bury her head in the sand, when she should face things head on. Theo, her romantic interest, is a wonderful guy with a huge heart. He stepped in when he was needed, without batting an eye. He is a reporter, that is writing articles about wedding extravaganzas instead of reporting from hotspots, after a serious injury. Both Lexie and Theo have baggage to come to grips with, as well as to share with each other, and eventually they do. I enjoyed all the wedding planning and the little details that went into this crazy, wedding. Although it was somewhat over the top, it was magical for the bride and groom. You can't have a huge wedding like this without someone stirring the pot and there are a few people doing that. I was pulled in by the drama and hijinks of these families. A delightful story that warmed my heart. I definitely recommend this one to those who enjoy rom-coms with a bit extra. The publisher generously provided me with a copy of this book upon request. The rating, ideas and opinions shared are my own.

There's a little bit of everything in this lovely uplit romantic comedy. Lexie is not having the best of times. Her career is imploding, and her love life is following, so she runs back to Cornwall, to regroup.

The Cornish Confetti Agency seems to be the lifeline she needs, Weddings are happy occasions so arranging them should be too? Unfortunately not, and what follows is a lovely story full of impending disaster, laughter and a slow, sizzling romance.

The plot has a cozy mystery vibe, as Lexie and the hot local journalist try to find out the source of the problems affecting the agency. The romance is gentle, but they are so well suited, you want them to take a chance.

Written in an easy to read style, full of visual imagery, it's a sensual feast in addition to a lovely rom-com read, perfect escapism.

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

I’m very much into a bit of escapism at the moment, preferring my reading a little on the lighter side, and this one fitted the bill quite perfectly. After something of a calamity at the high-profile catwalk event she’d organised, Lexie’s life goes from bad to worse when it becomes very clear that her personal life isn’t any too peachy either. She grasps the opportunity of taking over a wedding planning business in Cornwall for a while – but when things start going a bit awry there too it makes you wonder if Lexie’s run of bad luck has travelled with her.

I loved the settings, really well drawn, and the whole concept of the Caribbean themed wedding is quite inspired. But weddings involve people, those families that range from the loveable to truly horrendous (just wait till you encounter bridegroom’s mother Nadia…), and the author manages her large cast quite beautifully. Lexie joins up with local journalist Theo to try and find out who’s trying to sabotage the wedding plans, with a nice selection of likely suspects and plenty of red herrings – and there’s a rather lovely frisson between the two of them as they get to know each other better.

I really enjoyed this one – it’s a great little story, really well told, a nice easy read and a lovely introduction to the new series. The next book, Summer at the Cornish Confetti Agency, is due out 11th June, and is available to pre-order: this is a series that so many people are really going to enjoy.

Having thoroughly enjoyed this feelgood novel, I can say that I am looking forward to the next in the series. There are lots of amusing moments, especially with some of the wedding details and as there is a gentle mystery to uncover as you go along. Lexie seems to be dogged by bad luck. Leaving her life in London behind, she seems to bring the chaos with her but luckily, there is a charming journalist to help her unpick just what is going on.

There are some promising characters who I hope will figure in subsequent stories. The setting is beautiful as ever so in all, this is an escapist read which will transport you out of the grimness of life of the moment and offers the promise of some sparkling summer Cornish days. Bring on no.2 !

In short: Spend some time in beautiful Cornwall for a great feelgood read.

This is great escapism for the lock down. The setting in Cornwall is lovely, and the characters are likable and entertaining. And who doesn't want to read about elaborate wedding preparations? It's apparently the first in a new series, so I may just be going back to Cornwall when the next one comes out.

Easy read

A nice easy read. It isn't particularly taxing to read and is a simple and fun story. slight niggle that author thinks the lake district is in Lancashire rather than Cumbria

There’s just so much drama in this book! It starts with high-fashion runway drama, focuses mainly on wedding drama, and ends with some family drama! That last bit was such a surprising twist to an already action-packed story.

Characters
It’s no wonder that Lexie (female protagonist) often has terrible headaches. She seems to thrive on chaos. And it doesn’t help that she is an escapist who flees from uncomfortable conversations and difficult situations. Her character development is gradual and believable, and by the time the story ends, she has taken the first steps towards facing her fears head-on.

This is one of the few times that I have also seen a more human, realistic male protagonist–Theo–who is not a Greek god and isn’t 100% physically fit. He is attractive because he is kind, considerate and empathetic.

George, the groom’s father, stood out as the character with a large heart despite limited funds.

Writing
Descriptions of the Cornish countryside, Cornish food like clotted cream tea (sigh!), and Cornish villages are so charming that I want to visit Cornwall right away. Even the names of the places–Pengarth and Dalston Manor–sound so good. You shouldn’t miss the French chef Anton’s wedding menu.

Final Thoughts
This book is so much more than a romantic comedy. And it is the first of a trilogy–so there’s lots more happening from the Lexie-Theo angle in the future. There’s a bewildering mystery (or two) as a core part of the story, which had me looking for clues in every page. There’s an in-depth look at the immense pressures of managing a runway show and a themed wedding (and the rivalries in the background). I’m mentally doffing my cap at event managers.

The book took my mind off the anxiety and fear that has been a part of my life since my country went into lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Lexie is quite the character, hit by disaster after disaster. Poor thing – everything seems to go wrong at the same time so I cannot blame her for wanting to get away from it all. Lucky her best friend happens to have a great solution for her.
Disaster seems to follow her around though and nothing she does goes smoothly; helping organise a Caribbean themed wedding sounds simple enough but not when things seem to be going wrong and it becomes very apparent someone is against the wedding taking place!
She turns detective to find out what exactly is happening and who is causing so much drama. Who does not love a little bit of mystery thrown into a feel-good story? It’s all on her to ensure this wedding takes place and she forms an unlikely partnership that is beneficial for her in more ways than one.
A lively set of characters that made me laugh out loud at times, full of lovely descriptions and a wedding theme that I was quite envious of! It is the first in a series I believe so will be quite fun to see what happens next time.
A fun read!

This was such a fun read. Lexie was pretty much thrown into one disaster after another, and after losing her job and her boyfriend within an hour, the invitation from her best friend Freya to run a wedding planner business in Cornwall seems perfect timing to get her away from real life for a while.

The Caribbean theme for the wedding sounded so exciting and colourful that I really wanted to be there. I could almost smell the coconut! When a series of what seems like acts of sabotage begins, Lexie finds herself teaming up with journalist Theo sleuthing to get to the bottom of the problems.

This is a charming story with a wedding, drama, mystery and a little romance thrown in for good measure. I loved the connection between Lexie and Theo and spent much of the story willing their relationship to blossom. The characters along the way were so interesting, and I really warmed to bridal gown designer Freya and her florist brother Jasper (and his flamboyant waistcoats!).

All in all, this was a fabulous introduction to the Cornish Confetti Agency series of books.

So the last time I joined Daisy James, it was to follow her series The Paradise Cookery School, which I loved. The Cornish Confetti Agency is the first book in her new series, and already I am hooked!

Lexie Harrington coordinates high end fashion shows, a job that she absolutely loves. So, when her latest catwalk show ends in disaster and her personal life simultaneously combusts she finds herself escaping back to her childhood home of St Ives in Cornwall. Her best friend Freya, her knight in shining armour, offers her the opportunity to escape to the country and help manage a wedding she is co-ordinating as part of her business The Cornish Confetti Agency.

Co-ordinating a wedding can't be more stressful than co-ordinating a catwalk show, can it?

Theo Barker is a journalist for the Bristol Gazette, and more specifically he has been tasked with covering the wedding for the newspapers wedding column. He finds himself teamed up with Lexie when mysterious things start to happen to the wedding party. Can they work together to find the source of the issue, thereby ensuring the wedding goes off without a hitch? And will they find what they are looking for in each other along the way?

This is such a great opening novel to the series. I loved Lexie, I loved the wedding party and I loved Theo. All were great characters, very relatable and you couldn't help but root for them. I really love Cornwall, so it was so lovely to read all about it, you can really imagine yourself in the sun kissed settings - if lockdown cancels my holiday there this year I will most certainly be visiting as soon as I can when life starts to return to normal!

This novel is perfect if you are seeking some escapism from our current troubles (lets be honest, who isn't?!), and even better the next novel in the series, Summertime at The Cornish Confetti Agency is due out on 11th June so we won't even have to wait long to continue following Lexie's adventures! I for one will be reading it as soon as I can get my hands on it! So grab yourself a glass of something fizzy, kick back and relax in the sunshine (safely of course!) and enjoy this novel!

In 'The Cornish Confetti Agency', Lexie is a bundle of nerves as she needs her boss' fashion show to go off without a hitch. However, a massive blunder gets her fired. To add to her dejection, she catches her fiancé with another woman. When her best friend offers her a temporary stint as a wedding planner, she seizes it only to find that trouble follows her everywhere.

Although Lexie's work in the fashion world came to a swift end early on, there were plenty of details that showed how much time and effort she put into it. Her long list of responsibilities, along with dealing with a difficult boss and being dismissed for something that wasn't her fault made it easy to root for her from the start.

Her move to The Cornish Confetti Agency brought in more excitement and challenges without ever losing the light-hearted tone. The mystery as to who had turned the fashion show into a literal sopping mess was followed by more important questions - who was ruining the wedding preparations and why?

On top of that, she refused to get the whole story from her ex-fiancé Elliot and found herself attracted to Theo, the reporter assigned to cover the wedding. Their friendship developed organically, their banter was fun and they had great chemistry. This budding romance was well-written and believable.

The author did have a way with words though the writing would've benefited from fine-tuning to avoid repetition such as looking at her sanity in the rear-view mirror and Lexie's tendency to avoid facing her problems straight on in lieu of burying her head in the sand.

The answers to the two running mysteries (the fashion show debacle and wedding sabotager) added up. There was no unnecessary, forced drama to lead to the predictable but sweet ending. Character growth was evident in Lexie who was more willing to open up and speak her mind.

Overall, 'The Cornish Confetti Agency' was a breezy, enjoyable read featuring a likeable lead character and good balance between Lexie's personal and professional lives.

I have read this book twice and the last time was almost a year ago. I remember I had a very positive response towards this book back then.

With this re-read, my response is a bit different; there’s no change to the fact that I enjoyed this book overall, but I had some niggles which I didn’t find or I could have let slip the last time.

The story is fun, light-hearted with a bit of emotional spins that tug at your heartstrings. The mystery elements woven into the story added some nice flavors as well.
This is a story of a young woman learning to face the fact head-on instead of burying her head in the sand ,and ditching her preferred ostrich tactics no matter how painful it might be. The message was intertwined and reiterated now and again during her temporary stint as a wedding planner at The Cornish Confetti Agency.

Now, here’s my first niggle: I have no problem with the story itself, but I didn’t relish the way it was introduced as much. Sometimes it hit hard with an emotional punch but sometimes it just felt flat or abrupt to me.

I had a bit of problems with the executions on the wedding pranks and drama as well. Some parts just didn’t come across as natural as I’d have liked, and felt forced and contrived as if they were almost an afterthought, merely added just to dramatize it, which I don’t care much.

The same goes for the romance with Theo. I didn’t feel the spark as much, but once again, some parts were executed with emotions and authenticity thus made my rating rather tricky.

The ending could have been explored more. Sure, it is almost in the bag that Lexie is staying but a lot was shelved and slept on just for the sake of romance. I would like less loose-ends. I think readers deserve neat tidings.

For those reasons, I ducked a star from my previous rating.

Regardless of those niggles, this series shows potential thus I’m going to pick up the next book. It’s witty, sometimes comedic, and sweet for sure.
I’ll sleep on my judgement until I read the next book and see what comes next.

Poor Lexie.  Her life swiftly changes from glam and glitz to calamitous devastation when she looses her job and discovers her fiance is cheating in one evening.  Wanting to hide away from everything she hotfoots it to Cornwall to stay with her best friend Freya, who also owns a bridal store.  Freya finds the perfect job for Lexie, covering for the wedding planner who works in the same building, and so begin Lexie's baptism of fire in a whole new world.

The weather is changing for the better and I think a bit of pure escapism is the perfect remedy for the lockdown blues at the minute.  I adored this light and gentle read and completely allowed myself to be sucked into the story.

The plot moves swiftly and there are so many enjoyable aspects.  Personally I'm obsessed with weddings. I've had my own but I just love looking at cakes, dresses etc. so I really enjoyed this world from a planner's perspective.  There was plenty of humour in this book and my favourite part was the gentle mystery, adding a unique dimension to this contemporary story.  I really enjoyed playing along trying to guess who wanted to sabotage the wedding and why.

Not the main focus of the novel for me but the simmering romance was enjoyable too.  I loved Theo from the first meeting and spent the whole book rooting for them to get together.

This is a really lovely, sweet book to just sink into and get lost for a while.  I loved it and cannot wait for the next installment.

Set in beautiful St Ives, this novel drew me in right from the start. I can imagine a gorgeous Caribbean themed wedding set down there by the blue sea and golden sands.

It’s a Summer read for sure with food, sun, gossip, romance and mystery thrown in. It’s the first book in a series from Daisy James and I love it!

The main character is a lovable one called Lexie. She’s a hard working event planner that has a tough boss who expects the world. Something happens and he fires Lexie. She heads home to discover her fiance with someone else opposite their flat. At this point I’m devastated for her and want to give her a huge hug.

Luckily Lexie has a wonderful friend in Freya who invites her to go down to St Ives and give a hand with her business as a wedding planner for The Cornish Confetti Agency.

But the Caribbean themed wedding Lexie is planning is not as straightforward as she hoped when sabotage is on the cards.

I’m not going to say anymore without spoiling the whole plot for you. But you are in for a beautiful read of wedding talk filled, foodie treats in the stunning Cornish setting of St Ives – one of the counties own tropical beauty spots.

So much more than just a romantic story!

Lexie feels that her world is falling apart. When the grand finale of the catwalk ends in a disaster, she is held responsible and the consequence is that she is getting fired on the spot.
Going home depressed, she sees her fiancé in a restaurant opposite their apartment with another woman!
As it’s getting all too much, see grabs the opportunity to help out her best friend Freya organizing a wedding for the Cornish Confetti Agency.
But little does she know that the dramas around a catwalk are nothing compared the dramas around a wedding!

Oooh I loved this story! Initially I thought it would be an only romantic book. But it wasn’t at all!

Lexie just had the worst time and her desire to run away from it all, is understandable.
As she has “some” experience in organizing events, she agrees to help her best friend with the Cornish Confetti Agency and follow up the wedding with a Caribbean theme.
As most of it was already organized, she is sure that it will be just a “ticking of checks on the list”.

I love it when a simple task suddenly appears to be a worst nightmare! Yes sometimes I can be a real sadist ☺️.
But admit, if everything would run smoothly, would this book be so charming?

Lexie finds herself into deep, but does her best to be crisis manager. This shows that she is focused on the job and will do whatever she can to get the result she had in mind.
And even when there appears to be a saboteur, she is determined to find him/her! This with the help of journalist Theo.
Lexie and Theo team up to discover the truth, and slowly they find themselves looking for each other more often than not.
Theo is yes a journalist looking for scoop concerning the wedding, but there is so much more to him. He has been through a lot recently too, and also had to cope with a broken heart…

The further you read in the story, the more mysterious the sabotages get. I found myself distrusting every guest of the wedding. But when the truth comes out, it was someone I never thought of!
I had a real “WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT????” moment but when the reasons are made clear, I had a “OOOOOH!!!” moment, feeling sorry for the culprit.
Thera are people in the story I liked from the first moment, and also people I disliked immediately. I have to admit that some made change my opinion about them, but some other made my dislike even bigger!

A beautiful story about how running away from your problems isn’t the solution, but can be an opportunity for a new direction, meeting new people, but also that trouble is always around the corner, in places you less expect them!
I had several gasps, but also lots of laughs and found myself smiling at the sweet moments, not only between Lexie and Theo, but also between bride and groom!
All set in the beautiful Cornwall, which made it even more special!

Refreshing!

I loved this lighthearted, drama filled 'who done it' type romantic story. The calamities Lexie found herself in were often hilarious. This is my first book of Daisy's to read and I love her writing style and how she describes the beautiful Cornish countryside, taking me back to my own childhood memories of holidaying in beautiful Cornwall. Looking forward to reading book two.

A fabulous read!

I could not put this book down. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed it! So first things first what a Wedding, I only wish I was invited. There was so much going on and oh all the drama and throw in comedy, romance with a dash of mystery. I loved the characters and how Daisy brought them to life on the page. I had a film going on in my head. So delighted this is a series and what a great start.

Think story was a delight

Did you ever have one of those days when everything is rubbish? That’s what happens to our heroine Lexie. Fortunately, this charming story tells how she rescues herself, experiences personal growth, saves a wedding and a family, and finds Mr. Right. Asked to help, out a friend, she heads for her hometown and trades fashion show event coordinator for wedding coordinator. You’ll laugh out loud at some of the Nijinsky that ensue.

I don’t normally read this genre but I needed something light and easy to cheer me up and This story definitely delivered. What girl can be miserable reading about the frivolous things in life like fashion shows and weddings mixed in with some romance and a bit of drama. I love Daisy’s descriptive writing style which really brings the story and characters to life without being too long winded. Thoroughly recommend this light hearted read.

Loooong book

For awhile I thought I had picked war and peace. It started off good but quickly got bogged down with a wedding that took about 3 hours worth of reading to get through. Nothing really exciting happens and why I kept reading I’ll never understand. I’ll usually cut and run when a story gets monotonous. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I really enjoyed this feel-good story and can’t wait to read the next in the series. I loved that there was a mystery and how the relationship between Lexie and Theo developed. Both were warm-hearted and likable, and I’m looking forward to their romance continuing. I also really enjoyed the trip to sunny Cornwall especially during a rainy and cold January!
