I was not a fan of this quick story… Everyone was extremely over dramatic with unrealistic reactions and expectations.

Although this is the first book I read in the series, it was well explained so that was no issue. But I won’t be continuing.

Wow .. this ... book ... is... over dramatic! Steer clear unless you want to be board to death by characters that refuse to tell the truth when withholding the truth is what got them into this mess in the first place. Ugh if I could give it a 0.5 star I would. The book description sounded great, unfortunately it fell flat on its face when you read the story.

Book was ok

I liked the book, but just thought it was overwritten. Way too overdramatic. I understand the emotions involved, but just too much. Liked the characters and the family/friendship relationships. Nice clean writing, which I thank you for.

I enjoyed this book!

There many twists and turns for Marchline. Especially things you wouldn't expect for a successful, rich business owner. Many things took a turn for the worse but she kept her head held high and marched on.

This is the third book in the Rosemary Run series and I think this is the best one yet. The author has such a way to start the book and keep you hooked. It’s a page turner with mystery and you have no idea what secrets are there. The main character, Marcheline, ran away when she was 19 and started a new life, new name and a baby on the way. She’s amazing that she did this on her own and built a very successful winery. She is a strong women but she has a past that she has kept hidden and wants it to stay that way. Her daughter really wants to know about the past and who her father is. But Marcheline wasn’t ready or willing to tell her that. Then the time comes when her past comes to her present and she has some big decisions to make and no longer can keep her past a secret. Loved all the characters!!

Her Boldest Lie (Rosemary Run #3), my sixteenth read from author Kelly Utt. A well-written pulse-pounding, entertaining romantic suspense read, with intriguing, well-developed characters that leave you panting for more. I couldn't turn pages fast enough. “I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I'll be reading more from this author, in fact, Her Darkest Hour (Rosemary Run, #4) is next. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

This is the second book I've read by Kelly Utt. As with the first, I felt like the problem the protagonist faced was over-dramatized and made overly secret for no very valid reason, once we learn the true story. If the main character knew how to confide in anyone, ever, the entire book wouldn't even exist.

At one point the main character is supposed to use the code name for someone, and comes out with his actual name, without even thinking - weird? An oversight? Nothing came of her error, so I'm not sure what happened there.

I enjoyed the writing, though.

Her Boldest Lie - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Vineyard owner and successful businesswoman, Marcheline Fay, (not her real name) fled to the tourist paradise of Rosemary Run, after uprooting herself and her baby daughter Sabine, from danger in Chicago (to do with Sabine's father, whom her daughter was entirely ignorant of).
Now married to Ryan and mother to Amelie, Sabine's overcome with curiosity, that her Mom won't satisfy, about her father and why he's not in his daughter and granddaughter's lives.
What does she do, when she comes across a letter written by Marcheline? What extreme reaction does this trigger in Marcheline?
Who calls her asking about the letter?
When does she open up to Sabine and Ryan about the former's parentage? Are they truly in danger?

The tension ebbs and flows until the hunted are set free by the truth that Marcheline in particular has waited in fear for, during the last 26 years of her and her family's life. Sadly a slight sense of disappointment as the novel comes to a climax, but at least it's led to an HEA, as the danger apparently had never been real, plus it turns out that the antagonist was long dead anyway.

Read Kelly Utt's Her Boldest Lie and decide for yourself what you think of this psychological thriller!

This is the third installment of the Rosemary Run series. It is my favorite so far. The descriptions are vivid, the emotions are intense and the family relationships are intricate. Marcheline has a secret, a big one, and now it threatens her life, her daughter, and her grandchild. With the help of her instincts and a few good friends, Marcheline must determine if her past will overwhelm her future, or if she will finally be free. The story winds up tight with suspense and then rips its way to the conclusion. You just have to hold on and keep reading. I couldn’t put it down. It’s full of twists, turns, redemptions, and surprises. This is well-done domestic thriller.

A Short Novel Packed With Meaning

Her Boldest Lie by Kelly Utt is a really short book but it says so much in that scant two hundred pages. If you have ever been a mother on the run from a bad situation or the parent of someone who has you will want to read Her Boldest Lie.

Made me cry ultimately.

A harsh topic, fear, painful decisions. Renewal, real friends, terror, confusion. Happy endings with real emotional upheaval. A few questions not necessary to be answered, but with a free extended epilogue assume will be.
