"We are living in the end times, beloved, which means the presence of fear is increasing because calamities are becoming more frequent. Jesus spoke of this time, saying that people will be "fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken" (Luke 21:26). We see this prophecy being fulfilled in our present age, which means the end of time is coming soon. As the world becomes more unstable, people will become less secure and their hearts will be engulfed with fear. The world is becoming more chaotic, violet, fearful, and lawless.
Jesus said that these things would occur. He called it "the beginning of sorrows" (Matt. 24:8 KJV). These "sorrows" will continue to increase as Satan devises new ways to attack humanity. In light of this, it's important for us not to keep fears to ourselves. We must talk about our fears instead of keeping them buried within. By so doing we can externalize our fears instead of owning them and internalizing them. Opening up about our fears is sometimes the first step in the deliverance process."
(Rabbi K. A. Schneider, Do Not Be Afraid!)

The title of this book is taken directly from the Scriptures in Luke 12:32 where Jesus is speaking and says: "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has chosen gladly to give you the kingdom." I've read in another book that the phrase "fear not" is made in the Bible over 365 times! God says, "Do not fear." Fear will torment you. Fear will limit your potential. It will cause you to be paralyzed. And that is what the enemy wants. We can declare as the Apostle Paul declared: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7). Everything could be falling around you, but it will not come near you (See Psalm 91:7).

The author shares how he has struggled with fears even as a child. He relates of having a fear of dying that he couldn't understand. He says that God has delivered him from many fears and can do the same for you. He says, "Fear is an instinctive emotion that is aroused by a perception of danger, either real or imagined, and causes anxiety and worry to arise within the human heart."

Psalm 91 is somewhat the outline to this book, which I believe is the Psalm we need to declare in this hour:

"He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!”
3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
Or of the arrow that flies by day;
6 Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side
And ten thousand at your right hand,
But it shall not approach you.
8 You will only look on with your eyes
And see the recompense of the wicked.
9 For you have made the Lord, my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
10 No evil will befall you,
Nor will any plague come near your tent.

11 For He will give His angels charge concerning you,
To guard you in all your ways.
12 They will bear you up in their hands,
That you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you will trample down.

14 “Because he has loved Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him securely on high, because he has known My name.
15 “He will call upon Me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 “With a long life I will satisfy him
And let him see My salvation.”

He dissects this Psalm and shows us that God is our protector and will deliver us from pestilences, fears, destruction, evil, wickedness, calamity...which includes this COVID-19 pestilence. God will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.

Throughout this book there are prayers to pray; short prayers in order help the reader to submit to God, resist the devil, and be delivered from fear. One of which I excerpt here:

Father God, I thank You so much that You have given me everything I need to live victoriously in this life. Help me to face fear with courage and to realize that there are no limits with You. Through the grace of Messiah, I can live life fearlessly. Thank you, Messiah Jesus, for the victory that I have in You. Help me to look fear in the face, to be determined to conquer it, and to walk with complete confidence in You. In the name of Yeshua I pray, amen.

The LORD did not give you a spirit of fear. He has given you the Spirit of Faith and Boldness. While the world fears, we shall not fear, because of Jesus who lives in us. God says, "do not fear what the nations fear." He will never leave us or forsake us. This epidemic will dissipate in the US probably starting after Passover and Canada will follow after that. I believe this is a wake-up call for the Church to prepare Herself for the Bridegroom, and for unbelievers to take the steps to have peace with God: https://peacewithgod.net/

Review Title: Fear Not, This Book Brings Good Tidings (review of Do Not Be Afraid! by Rabbi K. A. Schneider)
Reviewer: Janice S. Garey
*****5 Stars

Rabbi Schneider shares the fears he has faced in life. He is transparent about some of the fears which seem rather irrational because they were straight from suggestions of the evil one trying to take Rabbi Schneider's eyes away from his God. Having personally overcome many fears, Rabbi Schneider is an expert on where the fears originate and how he has been able to overcome his fears through concentrating on promises in Scripture, prayer and obedience to do what the Bible commands.

I know of so many people who could benefit from this book. I have dealt with fear in my life, too, and found Scripture to be the best way to give lasting freedom from certain fears. For that reason I see the complete validity of this book, and want to buy some extra copies to give away to those in need. If you suffer from fear, whether rational or irrational, this book will help you. It has a spiritual prescription that will set you on the path to conquering fear. Then you will think of others, family and friends, who could benefit from this book.

We live in difficult times with so much turmoil in the world, and stories of evil in the news. All those news stories hurt not only those who have been victimized by crime, but they are part of the evil one's arsenal to add daily to listener's fears of the what ifs, what nows, and what do I do about this unknown and out of control possibility. Those fears add stress to life, and stress limits life. The evil one is against life (God's great creation) so he is happy with using fear to take down those who were meant to trust in their Creator instead of trusting in fear more than Him. For that reason, I think most everyone can benefit from this book. No one is immune to the bad news in our world. Offset and overcome the bad with the good found in this book.

I received this excellent resource through bookfun.org without cost in exchange for my honest review. Settle your fears once and for all time through the wise instruction given in this book!

Do Not Be Afraid! How To Find Freedom From Fear***** by Messianic Rabbi K. A. Schneider

In his book, Do Not Be Afraid! How To Find Freedom From Fear, Messianic Rabbi Schneider shares how fears can and does impact our lives. At one time he was afraid of most everything and shares his struggles with fear throughout his life and how through the Grace of God he has been set free of many of his fears. In the books introduction, he shares his hope that this book be a tool through which God imparts to the reader what is needed to “become more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus....Romans 8:31-39. And to find the freedom Jesus promises to you throughout Scriptures, “you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free”....John 8:32.

He lists specific Scriptures for common fears:
-the fear of uncertainty...Psalm 42:1-3
-the fear of losing everything....Philippians 4:19
-the fear of death...John 11:25-26
-the fear of the devil....Luke 10:19
-the fear of failure....John 15:4-5
-for every fear we may face....Joshua 1:9...to name a few.

The reader is encouraged to read Psalm 91in preparation of reading this book. And in chapter 6 he gives us a verse-by-verse look at Psalm 91. In the last chapter of the book Rabbi Schneider points out that if we do indeed wish to be free from fears, we must then build up our faith through God's Word. From page 154-173, he includes the divine strategy given to him by God. If we spend the first 15 minutes of our day, each day, sitting quietly before the Lord and read these Scriptures for the next 8 weeks....we will marvel at what Jesus has done for us and will be blessed. Repeat this process at regular intervals throughout your life.

I began reading this book as I would other books, but found myself back-tracking and re-reading a part and underlining it. I like that each chapter includes a prayer and the book offers step-by-step guide for us to overcome our fears...with God's help.

I received Do Not Be Afraid, written by Messianic Rabbi K.A. Schneider and the timing couldn’t have been better. God has been helping me to overcome many things this past year and His timing is perfect. I started reading this book and God prompted me to invite one of my children to read it along with me, one who also struggles with this issue. It’s truly been something only God could’ve orchestrated. That was confirmed to me when I opened the book and in the acknowledgements Rabbi Schneider used a verse that my child and I had discussed just the previous night!

I love the way the rabbi shares not only from his own personal experiences but continues to bring us back to God’s Word, truly the best weapon to help confront and eliminate this struggle in many people’s lives. One of the other verses that jumped off the page was one God gave me last spring and continues to remind me of every day: Exodus 14:13-14. I love that verse and claim its promises for our family.

I’m not finished reading this great book yet because my child and I are dissecting it slowly so that it not only gets into our minds but also our hearts. I’m so thankful that Rabbi Schneider obeyed God and wrote this book and I’m grateful to Book Club Network for offering this book for free in exchange for an honest review as I continue on my own personal journey toward complete freedom in the area of fear. I’m confident and hopeful that God will also break that stronghold in my child’s life as well.

The message Rabbi K. A. Schneider conveys in his book, Do Not Be Afraid! How to Find Freedom From Fear, is that it is not possible to trust God and succumb to fear at the same time. The Bible reflects this theme repeatedly.

The author uses not only scripture, but his own life experiences throughout the book to emphasize his points.
This easy to read book inspires the reader to enter into a trust relationship with God and leave fear behind. It offers realistic tools to help accomplish that goal. It concludes with a lengthy list of scripture verses that specifically address fear.

I recommend this book to anyone whose forward movement in any aspect of life is stymied by fear, whether of the future, some real or imagined insurmountable situation, or anything in between.

The prayers that Rabbi Schneider shares throughout the book are real and uplifting. This book will definitely take its place on my book shelf for future reference during times of stress, worry, and fear.

It is natural to be gripped by fear at various times throughout our lives. Messianic Rabbi Schneider offers personal descriptions of his worst fears and how he overcame them. Fear is the instinctive perception of danger, and our escape route is through God. The author shares how fear can paralyze us and prevent us from moving forward in life. Each chapter begins with scripture pertaining to the text, and biblical principles toward eliminating fear. Fear comes from the enemy, but as it states in the Bible, "the truth shall set you free." God's love is perfect, and he is our refuge. God is with us, and we must stand on his promises to defeat fear. The rainbow is the symbol of God's covenant that remains with us forever. The format used in Do Not Be Afraid is easy to read and the examples offered to apply in daily living are encouraging and useful. For those who tend to be overcome by fear this is an excellent self-help book.

In his book, Rabbi Schneider opens up from his very own life experiences about his fears and how God has helped him work through them. He addresses many fears, which all of us have had from one time or another. I found it interesting that when he was talking about his childhood that I had some of the same fears in my childhood that he had experienced. That was really an eye opener for me as I thought my fears and anxieties were just my own from my own imagination. He gives insights on how we can deal with our fears through prayer and gives us Bible verses. This would make a good devotional, especially if someone is dealing with a lot of worries with everything going on in the world today. We were not made to be afraid and that is not how we were meant to live our lives. He does discuss his dreams a bit, and that he has found meaning in them. I received this book from The Book Club Network, Inc. (TBCN) and the opinions are my own.
