Short Ayurvedic guide would have preferred more detail in some parts but as a quick guide not bad at all.

I came across this lovely book while attending Mira Manek's workshop at Fab Cafe in Kala Ghoda. Not really a fan of cook or lifestyle books but this one really stands apart.

This was an easy and comforting read that reminded me of home away from home.

It is filled with wisdom and practices with a huge emphasis on the importance of daily rituals for one’s wellbeing. My upbringing consisted of many of these rituals, from lighting incense sticks, mantras in the mornings, the delicious home cooked food prepared as well as those home remedies that my mother had a handbook of in her brain. Ayurveda was a foundation in my life that was more a way of life than something that was explained. This book is an easy guide illustrating its significance, invigorating all of the senses and using these pockets of peace to set you up the right way for the day.

In a fast pace world, it’s nice to slow down, being reminded of knowledge that has been passed down to me that I can share with my children. So much value in my heritage that I’m so grateful for.

The best part is the author uses her experiences and doesn’t force anything. It’s a manual to dip into when you want to, concerning things from massage to wonderful recipes for gut health. All achievable in your home in this gorgeous digestible read!

I don't want to rate this book because I like the author.

However the book is just so so - if you are into simple self help - this may be for you... I guess it is a good introduction. However, many of the points in the book seem very obvious or not in-depth enough to warrant and entire book.

The cover however is gorgeous and will look nice in any home.

I loved the author's passion for Ayurveda, it was also nice to discover a few good recipes. Quite sad her chai cafe in London has closed down, I love supporting independent businesses with a story. I hope Mira restarts something new soon.
