¿Lo mejor? La batalla de Endeavor, quien me va cayendo solo un poco mejor. No mucho. Por otro lado, Hawks se carga tremenda facha así que desde ya me declaro seguidor del personaje. Y lo de Dabi, WTF? no me esperaba nada esa revelación tan sospechosa.
¿Lo peor? Otra vez tendré que tragarme como más de 10 capítulos en peleas de relleno.

Horikoshit had the brilliant idea to give Deku multiple quirks from previous users, thus becoming even more broken and impossible to relate with. Deku began as a weak boy in a world of super powerful entities. By now he is the super powerful entity. Everyone else who could challenge him ended up in prison or lost his power. There is nothing to challenge him anymore and thus he has no appeal. Even the queers didn’t like him anymore, because he wasn’t a constant victim of abuse, which is the only one of two things they can identify with. The other being non-binary hedonists.
By the way, isn’t it convenient that this multiple quirk nonsense never happened to any of the previous One for All users? The excuse is, quirks stockpiles with each generation, eventually leading to a singularity that can destroy the world. I am sure this is something that will be dealt with by the end of the story. Spoiler, it wasn’t.
Now onwards to more boring training arcs where more nobody students fight each other in tensionless duels. What a great writer Horikoshit is, skillfully subverting our expectations. You would think he would have figured out nobody wants this shit after so many failed attempts, and yet he just kept doing it.

This one was kinda funky, because it was continuing the fight that was developing between Endeavor and the wack Nomu that seemed to be way different (i.e. more intelligent) than previous Nomu. And of course, with the pressure of officially being recognized as the No. 1 Hero, Endeavor had to face it head on and give his all. I mean, he would've anyway, but now he was on an even bigger stage than when he was the No. 2 hero.
Plus Hawk's out here with his weird eyebrows being a double agent kinda thing. I think it's because he gotta go fast. (ker-choo)
After that happened, Midoriya had a wack dream that mildly exploded his room, and Aoyama came in to say "Fam. Bruh. Stop. You need cheese. Calm down." and Midoriya was like "Uh, yeah I'm good. Sorry about mildly exploding my room in the middle of the night. S'all good here."
But then later he talking to All Might about it, and mentioned particularly spooky things about the dream, mainly the whole "vestiges" part. Previously, All Might told him that the vestiges couldn't really do anything, and so the special thing here is that they did. Like, the very first guy(the dude that started the whole One for All thing) came up was like, "Dood, you're 20% of the way. Hooray."
And that was cool.
There was also a thing between Class 1-A and 1-B, and whaddya know, Shinso is part of it! (He's trying to get into the hero course) All the Shinso stans out there are psyched.
Other things I'm gonna list:
- Tokoyami can kinda fly now (It's more like his Dark Shadow is carrying him and he directs it, but it works in my book.)
- Kinoko Komori showed up (I think she's cool despite her life is based off of her love of mushrooms, meanwhile if all the mushrooms in the world stopped existing, I'd be weirded out but cool with it)
- It ended with a fight between Momo and Kendo, with Todoroki saying that Momo's gonna kick ass
- A redemption arc seems to be hobbling over to Endeavor, and some people might not want him to be redeemed, but I'm all over it. Make it difficult, gritty, and pain-staking. Heel yea.
- The winter costumes have been released, which means that Momo has a cape. It's apparently very warm. Also Bakugo has sleeves and a weird collar.
- Also yay for chapter 200 *jazz hands*

The training and school stuff work the best for me in general, in this story, and the big team battles demonstrate all the powers in an imaginitive way. This is some of the best parts there is.

I love how Horikoshi keeps imagining the weirdest quirks.
I'm glad Shinsou is becoming important, he's great !

Dude, that opening fight was WILD! So intense and while I don’t like Endeavor I was on the edge of my seat wondering if he and Hawks were even going to survive! And poor Todoroki watching this all go down, but at least his friends and Eraser were with him during the worst of it. So good and I can’t wait to see this part in the anime! Hawks is an interesting character and I’m curious how his double agent status is going to weave in along with everyone else’s stories.
One of the highlights of this volume for me was when Todoroki says Endeavor is an amazing hero but how is he going to measure up as a dad and that was so powerful in how he’s still standing up to his father and saying his abuse sucks but in a more mature way then he went about it before. I’m so proud of my boy and am really happy this is getting addressed and that Endeavor actually feels bad about how he treated his family, so I’m curious to see how this will get woven into the overall story.
Deku’s dream was crazy and I’m SOOO intrigued by what exactly is going on with One of All, and the joint training battle between Classes 1-A and 1-B is so much fun and fantastic to see just how far all my favorite dorks have grown and gelled together as a class and team—it’s so great and I love every minute of being with them!

Watching Endeavor go all out was somewhat interesting but only as a foil for what was All Might. It definitely shows us how far the heroes have to go.
On the other hand, I was fully invested in the hero training bits in this volume. They're often the best part of the series.

No le pongo más estrellitas porque la mitad de la historia es sobre las batallas de las clases A y B, que no ha sido mi parte favorita de la quinta temporada del anime. Pero me ha encantado leer el tomo, ya que es el primero que leo de la serie. Quiero ponerme al día y ordenar algunos acontecimientos de la quinta temporada. En general, los feels de este tomo se resumen en: Shinsoooo .

EN RESUMEN
La batalla entre Endeavour y el nomu concluye.
ASPECTOS POSITIVOS
- So... hablemos de lo más controversial. Endeavour. Intentar darle un arco de desarrollo al que parecía ser el hijo de puta más grande de esta saga es lo más atrevido que Horikoshi hizo jamás. Y, sorprendentemente, no estoy super enojada con la idea. Es un tema super delicado y tiene que ser tratado de la misma forma. No me podes vender que Endeavour quiere cambiar y que se de en solo unos míseros capítulos. El hombre causó mucho daño, daño físico, psicológico y emocional a personas que supuestamente ama. Eso no se puede borrar de un día para el otro. Por eso mismo aprecio que la familia Todoroki no se la esté poniendo fácil y que el mismo Endeavour se de cuenta que nada de lo que hizo va a desaparecer con solo decir perdón. Natsuo es el hermano clave que no sabía que existía y que necesitábamos para expresar todo aquello que ni Shoto ni Fuyumi pueden (y con el que me identifiqué muchísimo). Va a ser un camino lento, pero no odio la ruta por la que se encamina la historia. Si hay gente que la historia les toca en algo personal y no pueden aceptar este arco, es completamente comprensible. En lo particular, me emociona por averiguar a donde nos lleva el autor y cuál va a ser mi opinión al respecto.
- El dibujo otra vez se luce. La pelea de Endeavour con el nomu se come por completo el tomo. Esta a la altura de la pelea de All Might con AFO, y así debe ser dado que este el comienzo de Endeavour como n° 1. Ese panel increíble en el que finalmente lo derroca con Prominece Burn+Plus Ultra ME VOLVIÓ LOCA.
- Hawks. Apareció de la nada y ya se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos.
- Toda la nueva información.
- Las batallas.
ASPECTOS NEGATIVOS
- No mucho, salvo mi constante karma con los mangas y sus bromas pedófilas. El por qué esto es considerado gracioso es algo que nunca voy a entender.
CONCLUSIÓN
Un tomo explosivo y repleto de acción increíblemente dibujada. La combinación del comienzo del arco de Endeavour, los misterios de OFA y AFO y las batallas de entrenamiento dio como resultado un volumen estupendo que supo manejar su ritmo y sus giros.
2da lectura: mantengo el mismo rating.

I really appreciate what the mangaka is doing with Endeavor’s character because he’s growing but he never lets us forget the awful things he’s done. Nuance in shonen is rare! Also the Class A vs. Class B fights are just so fun.

My Hero Academia, Vol. 21 continues where the previous tankobon left off and contains the next twelve chapters (189–200) of the on-going manga series.
The tankobon concludes the fight with Endeavor and Hawks vs. Nomus – individuals who had their bodies heavily modified to hold multiple Quirks and act as mindless soldiers of the League of Villains, which they eventually win without Endeavor nearly dying. In the aftermath of his battle with the High End Nomu, Endeavor is forced to confront the ways his single-minded pursuit of strength has affected his family. Meanwhile, it was revealed that Hawks is working undercover for the Hero Association to infiltrate the League of Villains by pretending to be a rouge hero.
Meanwhile, Izuku Midoriya had an odd dream about his previous lives as All Might with his One-For-All quirk. Apparently, the uniqueness of the quirk, which needs to be pass down throughout the generations, it contains remnants of previous owners and Izuku Midoriya not only saw his previous incarnations, but the very first incarnation spoke with him after he witness what happened to him – in the beginning.
As the cold weather settles in, Class A and Class B have a joint training session, which also includes Hitoshi Shinso, a General Education student who is determined to earn a place in the hero course. It is a training session with five teams of four and Class A and Class B battles with each other in an urban setting to see how they would fair in battle.
Kohei Horikoshi has written and illustrated this tankobon. Narrative wise, this seems this training session doesn't seem all too grand, but it is great to see how each character (those that were presented) have grown in power and abilities. It is also rather interesting that Izuku Midoriya had experienced something that Toshinori Yagi (All-Might) had never experienced and it would be interesting to see where this story idea would continue.
All in all, My Hero Academia, Vol. 21 is a good continuation of the series that seems really intriguing and I can't wait to read what happens next.

hell yeah. Call me problematic, but I like Endeavor. He's just a much more interesting character. I like Hawks a lot too and I feel SO ALIVE with this little bit of a story Tokoyami got and Shinso is getting his moment? Love it. That last panel of Momo was also very pretty and there were some really nicely drawn panels of Todoroki this volume. I'm finally getting interested. Like this last volume and a half makes me want to read more.

If getting my hands dirty can somehow bring everyone peace of mind, I'll gladly take on this task.
I love Hawks. Plain and simple. He's a great introduction to the more realistic, gritty side of heroism for those who truly want to help humanity and not just strut around like payed peacocks (cough *All Might/Midnight* cough). I can't WAIT to see more from him and the Commission. I really wish I hadn't spoiled myself for a majority of his story/character development, because MAN this would have been a jarring twist to read.
Tokoyami also got some much deserved growth as a hero and an independent character, showing off his new moves from his time training with Hawks.
I really don't give a singular shit about Class 1-B, which is the reason for one lost star. They're taking up pages that could be devoted to better things. I always enjoy seeing Class 1-A improve and show off the things they learned off screen/page, so I guess it's a nice change to see them going against teams that aren't from their own class.
Lastly, my favorite sleepless, introverted, underappreciated, aspiring hero-treated-like-a-villain student is back and hoping to stay, and I need his dreams to be realized. I hope he IS here for good, because his dynamic with certain characters in Class 1-A is already fun to read!

I really enjoyed this volume! I loved getting more of Todoroki’s family issues as Endeavor’s profile as a hero grew. It was a really good detour into a more emotional plot.
As for the big Class A v Class B battle, I can only imagine how cool that looks in the anime!

This was a great volume. I especially enjoyed the interactions between Hawks and Endeavor and also Endeavor and his family. This book does a great job conveying emotion, while not forgetting to pack in the action. The class battle at the end is fun and showcases some new characters very well!

Fue interesante, me gustó ver un poco de la historia del one for all y ver a all might de joven, luego las peleas contra la clase b me gustó la primera con shinso pero la otra no se, supongo que se me hicieron un poco largas las dos.

Okay, but when I read that Endeavor vs. Nomu fight, I could hear the music that they used in the anime for it playing in the back of my mind. Definitely one of my favorite scenes from the series.
